Both Buffy and Xander seemed to be hesitant around Willow, but she couldn't hold that against them. She could guess how much it must weird them out to have their friend suddenly change and not just a little change either but a massive fundamental change.
They all talked for a few minutes before they had to go to class, and Willow felt that she'd calmed them a lot. She mentioned that she had some things to talk about when they got out of school, though. Buffy, Xander, and Giles all looked uncertain, but they agreed that they would talk after class.
Willow had always found school to be easy, but she'd also enjoyed her time there before today. However, her classes were both too easy, but she also found herself thinking how much of them were simply wrong in what they were teaching. The worse thing Willow was finding, however, was being forced to sit calmly in class. She now had so much energy just pumping away inside her that it was torture not to be moving.
There were so many other things she could think of doing with her time. At lunch, Willow did her best to deflect Buffy and Xander onto more superficial subjects like movies they wanted to see. They tentatively planned a movie night for Saturday after Buffy's patrol.
Willow had gym class as her last period of the day. However, considering how much she didn't like gym class combined with her decision to leave school soon, she chose not to bother going any longer. Instead, she headed to the library and began doing some work on the computer. Giles asked her about her class, but Willow convinced him not to worry about it for today.
Starting tomorrow, Willow wouldn't be able to show up in school anyway. Not only did she have to be at her home to receive her new V-150, but she also had several packages arriving at her home as well. As soon as they began showing up, she could start working on some of her projects.
As she had some time, she began running some calculations on the computer even as Wilow started sketching out the new formula Willow would use to create the exotic metals she would use to build both her power generator and her computer core. She intended to use the same metal in the construction of both cases, considering how strong the new metal would be along with its other unique properties.
She had the concept bouncing around in her mind. Still, she wanted to flush it out on paper before she actually began playing with trying to make it in real life. She didn't know the specifics, but she thought the process could be dangerous if she made any mistakes in the creation phase.
She didn't know what it was called in the Doctor's universe. Still, considering the metal properties, she was going to go ahead and call it Vibranium. Considering that she had no intention of sharing the metal with the rest of the world, she wasn't worried about Marvel suing her for copyright infringement.
Willow wasn't even worried about someone finding a fragment of her metal if that ever happened. The process of creating vibrainium artificially was so complex and exacting that she doubted anyone on Earth would be able to unlock its secrets. Not for hundreds if not thousands of years at least.
She was so intent on what she was working on that she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings. But, nevertheless, she was disturbed by Giles's voice speaking up from just behind her left shoulder, "I'll say, my dear, is that Gallifreyian you are writing in?"
Willow jumped a little whit shock before she actually took a moment to look over what she'd been writing. Then, after only a moment, she finely nodded, "Yes, Giles, it's low Gallifreyian. High Gallifreyian doesn't use circles but a completely different symbolic language."
Giles was sounded fascinated, which didn't surprise Willow, considering a large part of his work revolved around translating different languages. "That is incredible. Do you think you could teach me to read it?"
Willow felt terrible for him, "I wish I could, Giles. With time I could probably teach you High Gallifreyian, but you simply can't read low Gallifreyian. It's nothing against you, but no human can perceive the subtleties needed to read it. Then again, even if you could somehow read it, you wouldn't have the mental capacity to do the math in your head required to understand what you are reading."
Giles looked a little disappointed at that but just nodded before asking her what she was working on.
Willow told him that she was just trying to recreate the process; she would need to make some particular metal. She needed it for her upcoming projects. After that, she changed the subject. They spoke about several unimportant things until the last bell rung. Not long after that, Buffy and Xander both turned up. Usually, right about now, Buffy would spend some time training with Giles while Xander would sit and watch Buffy training while trying not to drool.
Today was different. Willow got everyone to sit down around one of the library tables. Her voice didn't betray any of her nervousness as she began explaining most of what she'd spent the rest of her weekend working on. After that, she also took some time to go over some of her future plans.
Her friends sat in shocked silence for the entirety of Willow's debrief. She didn't know what had shocked them more when she began speaking. The fact that she'd stolen a bit over six billion dollars from various bad guys around the world. Or that she'd set up a bank account in each of their names and transferred three million dollars into each of them.
When Willow was done speaking, all three of them asked her several pointed questions. Willow had to do some fast talking before they would believe that none of those she'd stolen so much money from would be able to track the thefts. Willow could understand their worry, of course. None of the people she'd taken money from were known for their mercy, especially on those who trespassed against them.
When they got over their shock and worry about the money, they began asking more about her future plans and what she'd already started doing to make them a reality. Buffy and Xander were both saddened that Willow would be leaving school. Giles didn't look very happy with her decision either, but in the end, they understood her to need to escape the daily prison that was school.
She thought they could move all of Giles's weapons, books, and Buffy's training equipment to her mansion. When she told them that they were actually enthusiastic about the idea. Willow explained that they could make her home their new meeting place along with Buffy's training area. Giles was somewhat reluctant until Willow pointed out that there was no chance of Snider walking in on one of Buffy's training sessions at her house. She further tempted him with the knowledge that there was a much lower chance of some school kid getting a hold of one of his precious books at her home than at the library.
Giles pointed out that the reason he didn't keep his books at his home other than a lack of space was how often he used them during the day. While the others were in class to research the latest demon or crisis they were facing. Willow told him that she wanted to take the chance and try to scan all of his research and magic books into a digital system.
Giles wasn't happy with that and pointed out how much of a problem they'd had the last time they tried that. Willow agreed but pointed out that they shouldn't discard the idea entirely without further testing because they had one dangerous setback. They would, of course, take some more precautions, such as having Giles review and approve each book before it was scanned. She was also going to scan them into a closed system. One that wouldn't have the ability to connect to the Internet or the real world outside of a few dedicated smart pads she would create.
Giles was reluctant to go along with her idea at first, but she talked him around in the end. He wasn't thrilled by the plan, but he did agree to give her idea a chance, provided they kept the books as backup resources and that he would have access to them at any time, day or night.
Willow agreed and noted that she would need to have a bit of work done to her home to make it secure for her ideas to work. She would have a security company specializing in safes and safe rooms from LA to do the work. She warned the others that she would have some upgrades done to her new home before moving everything over but that it should be long before she was done.
After that, they called it a night so that Buffy could begin her patrol while Willow headed home to get some work done.
