The Sun glowed especially bright that day. One would easily get sunburnt standing under it.

Berk was lively, with villagers and dragons roaming. Houses were placed wherever there was space, so that was why some of them weren't at the same level as others. The ocean and rock towers surrounding the island seemed to shimmer as well. All in all, it was a gorgeous morning.

Stoick and Gobber took Hiccup, his friends, and their dragons into the forest where Hiccup met Toothless three years ago. He shot him out of the sky with his own invention. Hiccup was a very inventive boy.

The party stepped over uneven roots, logs, and plants. The Sun's rays shimmered through the looming tree branches.

Just being in the forest, Hiccup and Astrid were reminded of their dream. They kept their eyes and ears open for the Light Dragon. The friends' dragons: Toothless, Hookfang, Meatlug, Stormfly, and Barf and Belch stayed close to their Rider's heels.

Hiccup examined the forest's twisted tree branches and asked, "So, Dad, where exactly are you and Gobber taking us?"

"To one of Berk's most secluded areas," Stoick answered. "If we're going to talk about the Light Dragon, then we need to do it in private." He pulled a tree branch out of the way and held it out long enough for most of the party to duck under it. He forgot about Tuffnut. Stoick let the branch go, and it smacked Tuffnut in the face.

At the sight of him falling, Barf and Belch cringed. Their two necks ended up getting twisted in a pretzel, because they jumped a little bit.

Tuffnut's helmet was over his face. He lifted his hands and gave his dragon two thumbs up. "Not to worry. The King of Thorstonton is still alive."

Ruffnut heard him. She glanced at her twin brother and groaned. "Ugh, why do you always need to slow us down?"

Hiccup and Astrid were intrigued by Stoick's words. Just who was the Light Dragon? Unfortunately, they weren't able to reach too far in their thoughts because Hiccup's good leg suddenly crashed into a hole. He stumbled but caught himself by holding out his arms. "Whoa."

Stoick, Gobber, the dragons, and his friends glanced at him. Green leaves wafted by their arms and legs. They looked like they were dancing. Despite that, the section of the forest they were in was eerie, considering how close together the trees were.

Hiccup tried freeing his leg, but crack! The rest of the ground gave way under him, and he fell into an even larger hole.

Astrid held out her hand. "Hiccup!"

Tuffnut, Ruffnut, and Barf and Belch eventually rejoined the group. "Oh, Thor," Tuffnut said, "that is literally the best thing I've seen all morning."

Still falling, Hiccup called for Toothless. "Toothless!"

Toothless did not have to be asked twice. He folded his wings and dove into the hole after him. Except, he and Hiccup winded up in two different tunnels. Each was equipped with a slide. A wall in between the friends cut them off from one another. Hiccup lost his peg leg with the impact. He banged his left temple a little bit. For a second, his world spun, but he quickly regained focus. However, he could already tell a bruise was forming on his head.

The tunnels ended at the ceiling of a single, large cavern. While Hiccup and Toothless were in the same cave, they winded up in different parts of it.

Toothless crash-landed in a small crystal chamber. Each stone gave off a bright, blue glow. The dragon tried to fly back up the tunnel he fell through, but then he remembered that he couldn't fly without Hiccup. After all, the animal himself had a prosthetic body party. He was missing half his tail fin. He sustained the injury after Hiccup shot him down.

Toothless put his nose to the ground. He tried to pick up Hiccup's scent. If he could just find his friend, then he could get them out of there.

Hiccup landed in a larger section of the cave. An underground river flowed through it. Rocks of all different shapes and sizes were scattered about it. Stalagmites hung from the ceiling. The stones were just as brown as the cave itself.

Hiccup sat up in between a few rocks. He rubbed his throbbing temple and called, "Toothless! Toothless!" Without his peg leg, he couldn't walk. Until Toothless found him, he was stuck.

At surface, Astrid was totally freaking out. She tried to dive into the hole after Hiccup, but Gobber snatched her arm.

"Astrid, stop. Sorry, Stoick and I did not know that trap was still active after all these years."

"So, that was a trap?" Astrid tried to control her breathing, but it was difficult. What if the love of her life was hurt? Oh, gosh. She did not just think that.

Stoick came within reach of the hole. His legs brushed up against a few ferns. He nodded, saying, "Yes, that was a trap. Gobber and I put it there, with hope nobody would ever find the secret chamber. Out of all the people to trigger it, though, it just had to be my son."

Snotlout chuckled sarcastically. He turned on a knowing face. Hand at chin, he said, "Um, yeah. Last I checked, isn't Hiccup always getting in trouble?" Well, he wasn't wrong.

Astrid did not appreciate his joke. She threatened him with her axe. "That isn't funny, Snotlout!"

Snotlout crossed his eyes. He gulped, saying, "Okay, babe. Now will you get that thing out of my face?" He gently pushed Astrid's weapon away.

Birds chirped in the forest's treetops. A few flocks fluttered over the Vikings' heads.

Gobber shrugged. "Well, at least Hiccup and Toothless went the right way."

The underground river gave a sense of peace and prosperity to the mysterious cavern. Even the stalagmites were enthralling.

A light-yellow glow caught Hiccup's eye. It came from one of the largest rocks in the area, one that was right next to the river. Just seeing it, he was curious. The light unleashed a sudden beacon that temporarily blinded him. "Whoa, what's that? That's bright." Hiccup held his hand up to his face. He crawled towards the rock but jumped when another beacon escaped it.

To Hiccup's surprise, hundreds of yellow dots decorated the cavern's walls. They moved in circles. The phenomenon reminded him of the Dragon Eye. It was an ancient artifact he found that he and his friends used to discover new islands and dragons.

Hiccup stopped at the rock of the hour and placed his palm on top of it. His green eyes widened at what he saw behind it–a yellow and white crystal (the same colors as the Light Dragon).

The rock was fascinating. It was at least half the size of a sword hilt. Its clear, triangular end looked like it was pointing at something further down the tunnel.

Hiccup had no words for his discovery. He just found a crystal. He was rich. Nevertheless, his mind returned to his dream. The Light Dragon told him that "Two shall find my crystals." Crystals… Did he mean ones like the very thing Hiccup just found?

He picked up the stone. Strangely, it was much smoother than he expected. The crystal had somehow already been cut. Hiccup crossed his legs and placed it on his lap. The shimmering dots shifted from the cavern's walls onto his legs. Hiccup juggled the crystal around in his hands. With each movement, the dots shifted to another section of the cave. The mechanic was similar to the Dragon Eye. Hiccup almost wondered if they were connected. An image–something like a daydream–filled his head.

He found himself back in the enchanted forest from his dream. The fog had thickened to the point that he couldn't see his own hand in front of his face.

One by one, yellow dots appeared on the surface of the fog. It was a bit creepy, but Hiccup still felt serenity. His eyes barely caught a few clusters of trees that had shimmering, blue flowers. He also noticed that he had his leg back–his real leg. Not even his peg one.

The Light Dragon's voice flooded his mind. "I will share this world with you. We will pick the flowers and construct a crown. This, my boy, is where you belong. Come with me to Telemik."

Just being in the forest and away from the real world, the young man's worries washed away: his conflicted feelings for Astrid and his fear of becoming chief. He offered the forest his arms and twirled in a circle, as if he were a little kid all over again. Having both legs felt like such an accomplishment.

The dots in the fog joined him. They fluttered by his fingertips and head.

Sadly, the peaceful moment did not last forever. It was overtaken by the sound of trees crashing onto the forest bed. Crash! Crash! Crash! The familiar, different-colored eyes of the Light Dragon appeared in the fog. It was almost directly in front of Hiccup. He never got a good look at its crystalline body.

The dragon in his new vision, though, was not the friendly dragon he saw in his dream. He opened his mouth and roared a terrifying screeching roar. SCREEEEEEECH!

It sounded like metal scraping together. The noise was excruciating.

Yelling, Hiccup closed his eyes and smacked his hands over his ears. With each passing second, the dragon cried louder and longer.

SCREEEEEEEEEECH!

"Stop!" Hiccup begged. The psychological pain was too much for him to bear. His whole head spun. He fell to his knees onto the forest floor. "Stop! My ears! I don't want to lose them too!"

The dragon and dots moved in on him. They drew closer and closer until finally–!
