When the door had been slid open The Senju had expected to see the Uchiha he had left to still be there laying on the futon that the male had previously been laying. All he was staring at was the bunched up blankets on the futon. Everything was still in place except for the one thing he wished would stay put. Madara was missing!
"You've got to be kidding me.. I did tell him to stay still didn't I..?"
The man asked to mostly himself, before his brother caught his distress. "What's wrong?" Tobirama asked as he took a peek into the room, tensing for the moment before his gaze slid to Hashirama. "Where did.."
Just then Hashirama snapped out of his small daze before getting to action. Rushing straight toward the front door. Said door was now slightly cracked open. Hashirama immediately slammed the door open his eyes gazed for a figure of someone. In this paniced state he had just barely missed the small gasp in surprise he heard.
Almost immediately his head snapped in the direction of the sound, sure enough there stood the Uchiha. A hand cluched over his heart, silently cursing.
Hashirama froze a moment, he hadn't expected to ever surprise his Uchiha friend, let alone surprising Madara. Though now that Hashirama thought about it, it makes more sense. The poor Uchiha had amnesia, so he had probably forgotten how to detect people approaching. Hashirama sighed sadly to himself.
Originally the Uchiha had wanted fresh air and he was too impatient and untrusting towards the him and his brother. So after a little debate, he simply got up and walked out. Now that Madara had forgotten everything he didn't notice when Hashirama approached and was immediately caught off guard when the once peacefully quiet area suddenly vanished.
Heaving a sigh Hashirama forced himself to calm down. "Didn't I say to not move?" He asked.
Madara watched him for a moment seemingly to contemplate his options before humming. Turning his gave back toward the forest, before he finally spoke up. "..You did.." pausing a moment to see if the other had something to say before he quickly added. "I just..wanted to think." His gaze wondered further away so now Hashirama was unable to see the others face.
"Ah."
That was the only thing that came from his lips. Hashirama didn't really know why himself but he quickly corrected himself.
"I see. Next time could you supposedly warn me?" Hashirama asked smiling nervously. In response Madara's gaze met his own. Then a small nod before thoes coal like eyes flee back to the forest.
A silence fell over the two. It was more of an awkward silence too. This of course could be reasonably resolved with a simple line from Hashirama. But he couldn't say a thing, more like he didn't know what to say.. Normally he'd say some based on how he read Madara but now..
He didn't know what the other was thinking. Maybe more like he didn't know who this Madara was. Usually he knew but now.. It's like trying to read a rock! Sure Madara was hard to read before but not nearly as hard as this.. Vulnerable version. Which should be far more easy to read!
"So.." Hashirama started, "um.. if you'd like to talk about anything you can-" suddenly he gets cut off. "Do you want me gone?" Madara's gaze remained else where as he spoke. Surprised for a moment Hashirama paused. "Ah! No! Why would you think that?!" He immediately rushed to say.
"That's what you were talking about with.. that other guy, right?" Mumbled the Uchiha as he fidgeted with his fingers. Hashirama was enchanted with the fidgety fingers for a moment. He'd never seen the other fidget before..
"Um" he says to snap out of the daze before continuing, "well I mean I guess..? That's what we were.. but no we're not going to make you leave." Hashirama replied.
There was another moment of silence. "Do.." he stops suddenly not continuing his thoughts. Hashirama had to ask, "what is it? You can ask anything." He smiles encouragingly towards the other. With a sigh Madara continued, "do.. do we know each other? Aside from right now..?" The raven asked hesitantly.
Hashirama paused. He didn't like this situation at all. He hated that Madara couldn't remember him or anyone else for that matter. Madara hasn't even mentioned a thing about own his brother! Oh that'd be horrible not remembering your own brother.. It's hard to tell but as of now it can be concluded that he doesn't remember basically anything.. Then hearing the way Madara asked..
Hashirama's heart clinched painfully before he swallowed the lump on his throat, "..At a time, yes.." he spoke more quietly that before. Madara's only response was a hum in acknowledgment, then back to the awkward silence.
Madara's eyes landed on the taller of the two, who seemed to be looking distantly into the sky. Madara looked away but couldn't help but look back.. The ravennet could tell the others upset mood it felt.. familiar in some way.. Madara didn't even have time to think about what to say before his mouth opened for him, "Are you-" Madara's words were never finished because just at that moment Tobirama rushed outside catching both by surprise.
Immediately giving Madara a glare before his focus returned to Hashirama who was giving him a raised eyebrow. "What is it?" Hashirama started now noticing that Tobirama was wearing his batting armor. "Izuna is attacking again." Was the short answer he got from Tobirama before the man was rushing his way towards the rest of camp.
See Tobirama and Hashirama made the decision to set their residence away from the rest of their clan mostly due to Hashirama. Hashirama and his need to plant things, like herbs and vegetables or even flowers. Hashirama was very fond of planting and gardening in general. Also due to the idea if they were ever under attack they'd have the attention to the sectioned off house.
Following after Tobirama, "I'll come too. I can help explain to Izuna that M-" Hashirama started, "No." was the answer he got. "Why not?" Asked the Burnett who clearly didn't understand.
"Do you think the rest of the Senju's will be as persuasive as me when they find you've been shielding a Uchiha, not only that but Madara Uchiha is the one you're housing." Replied the white haired man. "Besides." He continued, "you need to watch over that thing you have." With that said he left with the teleporting with that jutsu of his, leaving his elder brother to just stand there.
Heaving another sigh he heads back to he house. Once he reached the porch, where he and Madara once stood, he noticed something. Madara was missing.. again.
"You've gotta be joking.."
After searching outside, he eventually heads inside to look, to where he finally found the missing Uchiha. Seemingly wondering through the house.
"Can't you just stay still for five seconds?" Hashirama asked jokingly.
"I did. You still didn't come back." Madara huffed back, arms crossed as his gaze remained elsewhere.
Hashirama simply laughed out loud. "Anyway, were you looking for a room in specific?" In response a got narrowed eyes and pursed lips from Madara. "No.. I was just.. looking around."
Hashirama gave a raised eyebrow, he'd never seen Madara wear the expression before.. This is what he meant! Madara gives more expressions than he used to give and now he's having trouble trying to not read too far into it.
Suddenly the sound of growling pulled him from his thoughts, his eyes land on Madara who had a hand over his stomach and a red hue starting to take over his cheeks. Just then Hashirama fully laughed. To which got a glare from the Uchiha. "It..it's not funny.." he had grumbled, then when Hashirama didn't stop Madara huffed and started to stomp away to another room.
Hashirama let out a few more chuckles when trying to calm down, and followed after. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! You're right it's not funny! What do you want to eat? Wait! I'll stop! I'll show you where the kitchen is!"
Eventually Hashirama convinced Madara to trust him enough to get him in the kitchen, where they stood now.
"So what do you want? Maybe I could make something you like." Hashirama asked casually as he watched the others eyes wonder the room. At his voice, Madara's eyes land on him, but only for a bit before they seem to like that wall more. "..I don't know.." Right.. Madara can't remember anything, let alone what he'd like to eat.. A cloud of depression hit as he dropped his head. "Sorry.." within another second the cloud was gone and his smile back. "We'll just have to try!" States the Senju "Unless either of us can think of something.." he mumbled after.
Hashirama then meets eyes with the other male only to see an interesting expression in place.
Madara's brows were furrowed and one raised slightly as he started at the other. Was there something you wanted to ask?" Hashirama guessed. "You..never mind.." he mumbled shaking his head. Hashirama blinked a few times before mentally shrugging.
Hashirama quickly put something together as a snack and let Madara experiment if he wanted. In the mean time Hashirama sat back trying to remember their times at the river. Mostly trying to see if there'd be talk of food. There was talk but only how much Madara would never eat his mushroom soup.
Hashirama pouted at the memory and curiously took a glance in the Uchiha in question. He had started his second sandwich. Hashirama found himself watching longer than needed and quickly turned his attention else where.
When suddenly..
That's it!
A memory appeared.
'Yesterday I had to join this party full of grownups, there were barely any children there. It was sooo boring but at least the food of great. Which had be me thinking! Remember that twenty question game we were playing last time?' A young Hashirama asked. A young Madara lay up top a rock watching his friend, "yeah? And?" He questioned back. "Well I wanna resume it! I'll start! What's your favorite sweet? Or at lest something you enjoy, and don't you dare tell me you don't like any!" Madara gave a small eye roll before going into thought. "Hmm.. I guess dango dumplings are okay.." he'd mumbled. "Really? Those? Lame." Hashirama had responded, to which made the game of chase. Hashirama smiled fondly at the memory before walking around the kitchen gathering materials to make the sweets. "Madara you still hungry? How does dessert sound?" Hashirama didn't wait for a response though he did hear the hum the other had given.

A little while later, the dango's were done he'd even gotten Madara to assist him. They made more than expected, they something around twenty.. but alas Tobirama would eat some! Probably. Maybe. Probably not..
Hashirama sighed sadly before his eyes land on the other who was twisting a dango stick in his fingers. Then he watches as Madara hesitantly takes it into his mouth. The is a pause before a look Hashirama has never in a million years thought he'd ever see. Madara was generally smiling. Not a smile you know is fake or the smirks that the other wore a lot not even the grins! An actual smile!
At some point Madara's eyes met with his. They watched one another a tint of red made its way to Madara's cheeks as the staring continued. Then Hashirama's eyes flicked down to Madara's throat only to watch as it bobbed, signaling that he'd swallowed. "What are you staring at..?" This snapped Hashirama out of his trance. "Oh. I was uh.. m-making sure you liked it before I started!" He replied quickly before he too, started eating.
For the rest of that night Hashirama would find himself constantly glancing over to the other male. For some strange reason..It made his heart beat quicken, not because of his usual excitement. No. This was something else.. he just couldn't put his finger on it..
