Chapter 5

Disclaimer: I know its been awhile and I apologize for that. Was gonna make this chapter all about Oliver but I don't think I'll be doing that.

Life continued on for our heroes as the years went by in the aftermath of Oliver's loss and death to Ra's Al Ghul. Though it wasn't all smooth sailing for our heroes and their friends due to various issues here and there. Eobard Thawne would end up dead courtesy of several rounds fired into him by one Eddie Thawne when he was distracted and to further cement his ultimate end, Eddie and Iris would marry one another and start a whole different family in the process. Seeing to it that Eobard was never born because of that change in history. Thea would even learn of her Nephew, William Clayton, when Samantha would choose to reveal his existence sometime after Oliver's death had been announced on television. Naturally there had been some suspicion about it but once it was proven, Thea was glad to have something of her brother still alive and resolved to be one of Hell of an Aunt for the boy, though Laurel would have some issue with it considering it was a reminder of Oliver's cheating ways and what could have been between them. But she would never hold it against Samantha or young William.

John 'Spartan' Diggle sometime after Eobard's defeat would give his life at one point in order to prevent Lonnie 'Anarky' Machin from summoning a Demon atop a 15 story building that saw him plummet to his death thanks to how explosive the act of that was. Team Flash would even end up discovering the existence of other Earths thanks to some experimenting with his Speed and make new friends and enemies because of that and Barry himself would find a new love in the form of Patty Spivot as well. Oliver's Soul would continue to be forced to be in pure Hell and would not be allowed to partake in any missions to Star City whenever they came up in order to prevent any potential discoveries where he was concerned. One such mission for example involved Damien Darhk and his attempt to try and take over the city that left a huge hole in place of the Glades. Thankfully, this wouldn't cause any serious problems to develop for the rest of the city but it would take a number of years before the Glades could be fully re-built. His child with the Shado look a like would be born and educated in the ways of the League as well.

A month after the loss of the Glades would even see Thea and Roy finally tying the knot with one another while continuing to be Vigilantes. Quentin himself never quite recovered after his heart attack after hearing about Sara's death and nor did the relationship between Laurel and her parents ever recover either. But over time she had come to reluctantly accept that and move on and even seeing a Therapist about the whole affair in order to more effectively deal with it. Granted, she'd end up having some trouble with the law thanks to Earth-2's Black Siren who looked exactly like her once she showed up to cause trouble as a means of revenge in the aftermath of Zoom's defeat and later execution on Earth-19. Creating quite the conflict and a long standing rivalry between the two as a result thanks to her Earth-2 counterpart hating how much better her Earth-1 counterpart had it for the most part. Now, about six years after Ra's inflicted his brand of Hellish Servitude would see Maseo Yamashiro finally come forward about what was going on with Oliver as he could no longer bear to see what was happening to his old friend and afterwards, commit Seppuku. This would cause a huge rift to form between the Heroes and the League but Ra's wasn't one to give much of a damn.

Well, at least until Nyssa, having gone to her sister in the hopes of freeing herself from the influence of the Ring, managed to bring Oliver to his loved ones and be unable to escape. The whole thing nearly getting her killed and having to join the futuristic group known as the Legion in order to stay alive and escape from her father's wrath. Earth-38's Super Cousins got involved as well and trashed Nanda Parbat as a warning to leave things be, and Ra's, being a smart man, chose to go along with it for the time being. Especially since he had Oliver's child that he could continue to mold in his image. One he had moved to a secure location that not even Nyssa or Maseo had known of as a just in case sort of thing. Unfortunately, not even John Constantine could undo the horrific magics used on Oliver and the poor man would be placed in a secure facility to try and rehabilitate him while having to be placed in a straitjacket and a padded room so that he couldn't hurt himself or others. Felicity, when she learned of it, decided that instead of continuing to try and keep her struggling company known as 'Smoak Tech' going, she would instead try to help him out instead. Somehow convinced her influence would be enough to help him recover but Thea would have none of it and get her banned much to her immense ire. And put on a watch list and banned from access to any tech courtesy of Amanda Waller to ensure she wouldn't try anything as a means of revenge.

Something some would say was her being merciful considering the ARGUS head could have done so much worse. It'd be nearly 20 years later when something known as the Crisis would begin when Oliver and his Soul would finally get some true peace after he'd been released to help with the Crisis. All thanks in part to a higher being of power by the name of The Monitor, who roughly 5 years before, had dismantled the League and banished Ra's to a place of absolute Hell for all his sins. For the Monitor had been none too pleased with how the man had twisted the League into something it wasn't meant to be. "Are you ready to finally rest in peace?" Asked the Monitor to Oliver.

"I am." Murmured the man as he and the man watched the victory celebrations a distance away.

"But I doubt even you have the power to free me and my Soul from what that bastard did to me."

"No, but I do." Came a female voice from Oliver's left.

Causing him to stare at her and having doubt considering the owner of said voice looked to be a young woman. But then his eyes widened when she had wings sprout from her back. "I'm Azrael, the Angel of Death."

After everything he'd been through in life, Oliver couldn't find it in him to disbelieve what the girl had claimed. "Then take me to wherever I'm meant to go to rest."

Azrael nodded and with a touch on his shoulder, pulled his Soul self out of his body and his eyes widened when he saw the Monitor quickly grab his body before it could fall and gently placed it on the ground as Lucifer's voice could be heard, along with Chloe's admonishing him where the celebration party was happening. Earning a few laughs in the process as well because of it. "Rest well, Oliver." Said the Monitor.

"Thank you."

And with that, Azrael flew off with Oliver's Soul to his final resting place as he had well and truly deserved to do so.
