"Yes, I am going to kill him." Luka turned to look at Marinette and crossed his arms, "He just took advantage of you when he knew you were most vulnerable."
Marinette shook her head, "He did not."
"Mari, come on. Seriously, we've been friends with Adrien since we were little. He's changed and he's not the same boy who held onto you while we would climb trees," Luka frowned and started to rub her arms, "Adrien's a different person now-"
"What about you?" Marinette cut him off as she stared into his eyes.
Luka was taken back and raised his eyebrow, "What about me?"
"You changed, and you're okay now..." Marinette frowned, "Adrien's just-"
"Adrien has a different life than I do, Marinette. Adrien's been in the spotlight since he was a baby. His mother was Emilie Agreste, the famous actress, and his father is Gabriel Agreste, the most famous fashion designer in Paris."
Marinette frowned as she looked up at him, "So?"
"So, Adrien's life is more stressful than ours can ever be. Adrien getting addicted to something would be completely different than when I was. Because unlike me, the only person who would honestly care if Adrien was addicted to something would be you. His father and manager would only care if it was starting to interfere in their company." Luka bit his lip as he looked away.
Marinette's lip quivered as she fought the tears that started to form in her eyes, "You don't think?"
"No, I don't," Luka felt anger start to boil in his stomach. He wasn't sure if it was because of how naive Marinette was or the fact that he was jealous of Adrien. He didn't understand why Marinette would be in love with the same boy who constantly hurts her. He loved Adrien, as a childhood friend, but when it came to Marinette being involved. Adrien was his mortal enemy. "I think you should open your eyes and actually take a look at Adrien now. He's not going to be your prince, Marinette. He's going to be the evil dragon that takes you away."
Marinette bit her lip as she closed her eyes, "Luka, I can't see Adrien like that."
"Why?!" Luka groaned, "I don't understand what it is about him that you like! Seriously, look at him." Luka pointed back at Adrien as he was leaned up against a wall talking to Nino and Chloe, "He's a huge scumbag, Marinette. Do you understand that there's a high chance that Adrien will fuck someone else tonight, right?"
Marinette shook her head, "Shut up, Luka."
Luka wrapped his arms around her, "I'm not trying to upset you, Mari. I'm just trying to warn you before you get your hopes up. This isn't going to end up good, you'll be left hurt and alone."
"I know I would be... because you won't be there if I continue this, right?" Marinette pushed him away.
Luka grumbled as he looked at her, "Yeah, I wouldn't."
Marinette remembered the conversation she overheard from Luka and Adrien. She crossed her arms, "Yeah, because you couldn't possibly bare to be around me when I'm sleeping with your best friend."
Luka's jaw dropped, "What did you just say?"
"You couldn't bare being around me when I'm fucking your best friend," Marinette's murderous glare was set on Luka, "You're just jealous, right?"
"Why are you acting like a bitch? I wouldn't want to see the love of my life and my best friend together! So, yes... I am jealous!" Luka yelled back at her.
Everyone was starting to stare at them, including Adrien. Neither of them noticed though, "You didn't tell me that you were in love with me? How the hell am I supposed to figure that out on my own!"
"You would've known if you weren't constantly up Adrien's ass!" Luka chuckled as he wiped the words away from his lips, "I can't believe you've been absolutely obsessed with him for years."
"He's my best friend," Marinette mumbled, "We're partners."
"No, Marinette, Nino and I are his best friends. All Adrien has ever looked at you as was easy pussy." He whispered at her, "And guess what... that's still all he is ever going to see you as."
"He never asked me though," Marinette tried to wipe her tears away from her face.
"He didn't have to, he's known for years that he'd be the one to take your virginity from you. Now, he can have you whenever he wants." Luka stared into her eyes, "Now, when the time finally comes and Adrien leaves you, don't come and find me." Luka walked away, stopping and glaring at Adrien for a moment.
Marinette's legs felt wobbly as Nino and Adrien turned to look at her. Nino looked down at her legs and quickly started panicking, "Adrien, she's going to fall."
Adrien and Nino quickly ran over to Marinette as she started to fall. Adrien caught her and looked back at the direction that Luka went, "What the hell happened?"
"Us," She whispered as she looked up at him, "I told him what happened and he freaked out."
"I can tell, what was he saying?" Adrien helped her stand back up.
Marinette frowned as she ignored his question, "I think I am skipping school again."
"Want me to take you home?" Adrien watched her walk away, she didn't answer and Adrien decided to just follow her. He waved goodbye to Nino and Chloe as he walked over to Marinette.
She looked up at him and put on a fake smile, "You care about me, right?"
"Yeah," Adrien nodded his head, "You're my partner, bugaboo."
Marinette nodded her head as they walked out the doors and towards Adrien's car. She didn't say anything as they got in. Adrien said a few things as he started the car and drove out of the campus, but Marinette just stared out the window. Adrien frowned, as he remembered the shit Luka yelled at her.
He placed his hand on her thigh and lightly squeezed. Marinette's face turned bright red as she looked over at him. He had a smile on her face, "You wanna go get some food?"
"U-Um... yeah," She bit her lip as she felt her heart rate start to quicken. She frowned as Luka's words were still fresh in her mind, "Luka told me that I was never your best friend, that Nino and him were, but I was just easy pussy for you."
Adrien's jaw dropped as he looked at Marinette, "He said that?"
She nodded her head, "He told me that when this is over and I'm finally left heart broken, not to come to him."
Adrien frowned as he looked back at the road, "He's definitely jealous."
Marinette nodded her head, "He told me he was... Where are we going?" Marinette decided to change the topic as her stomach started to rumble.
Adrien smiled as he looked over at her, "Where do you wanna go? It's my treat?"
Marinette raised her eyebrow as she tried to think of places that Adrien and her liked. There was a lot that she could think of, but money wise was her problem. She didn't want Adrien to spend a lot of money on her, "Why don't we just go to that family run pizzeria by our apartment?"
"Are you sure? I wouldn't mind taking you to Tender Greens or somewhere nice," Adrien smiled as he hesitated to drive to their apartment.
Marinette nodded her head, "We have work in a few hours and I don't mind having Pizza."
"You're just saying that because you want pizza from Alvin," Adrien laughed as he turned right and started to head home, "You want to order the pizza?"
"Sure, what are we getting?" She pulled out her phone and searched the number for Alvin's Pizzaria.
"Just a plain and a pepperoni," He said as he stopped at the red light that came up. Marinette called the number and waited on the other side for someone to answer.
After a few rings someone picked up the phone, "Hello, Thank you for calling Alvin's Pizzaria. What can I get for you today?"
"Yes, Hello... Can I get a tray of pepperoni pizza and a plain pizza?" Adrien smirked as he looked over at her. She wasn't looking at him, instead she was biting her nails as she looked out her window.
The person on the other end of the phone was quiet for a moment, "Alright, and can I have a name for this order?"
"Adrien Agreste," She smiled as she looked over at him. He winked at her as he focused on driving.
There was a long sigh as the woman wrote the name down,"Alright, the total is thirteen dollars and 45 cents."
"Alright, thank you." Marinette hung up the phone and was oddly confused. Adrien raised his eyebrow as he looked at the confused expression she had. "She like... heavily sighed after I said your name?"
Adrien laughed, "There's been girls who've called restaurants and given them my name. Once a lady even told me that a girl came in saying she was my girlfriend."
Marinette bit her lip, "I've actually done that a few times."
"When?" Adrien laughed.
"Maybe a few months ago?" Marinette tried to remember the last time she had Adrien's card. She smiled as she looked at him, "None of them believed me of course."
Adrien raised his eyebrow as his smirk slowly grew. He felt his heartbeat quicken when he watched Marinette laugh. Adrien knew that he was in love with Marinette, but he would never allow himself to be hers. He turned to look back at the road as Marinette finished her story.
"I feel so much better after talking with you," She happily sighed.
Adrien was comfortable knowing that she felt better after that argument she had with Luka. He knew it wouldn't last long, because they were going to have to talk later tonight.
Marinette and Adrien had decided that Adrien would go into the pizzeria and get their food. Marinette watched from the car as the woman who saw him got extremely excited. She had jumped out from behind the counter to give him a hug as she embarrassingly cried her eyes out.
As for work, it wasn't a good or a bad time. Adrien had come into work with her, but George wasn't on the shift tonight. It was packed for the entirety of their shifts, but towards the end it was starting to die out.
Marinette was walking about getting dishes off of the tables when the bell chimed, signalling that someone had some in. She turned to see who it was, "Hello, Can I get you a table?" She smiled, but instantly froze when she was looking standing next to her.
He looked upset and he started to rub the back of his neck, "Can I talk to you when we get out of work?"
She slowly nodded her head, "I get off in an hour if you wanna wait."
He nodded his head and Marinette motioned for him to follow her, "You can sit here and I'll come back in a minute to get your order, you want a glass of water right?"
He smiled as he nodded his head, "Thanks, Mari."
She nodded her head as she turned back around and got Luka's drink. She bit her lip as she thought how this night could possibly go. "Are you okay?"
She turned around and saw Adrien walking towards him with a pack of Pall Malls in his hand, "Yeah, I'm all good."
He smiled, "Let me know if you need to talk, I'll be outside."
She nodded her head and walked back out into the dining area. She walked over to Luka's table and set his drink down, "Have you decided?"
"Yeah," He set his menu down and looked back at her, "You."
"Stop being silly," She laughed as she lightly pushed him.
Luka laughed back, "I'll just have a slice of the pumpkin pie."
"Alright, keeping it easy for me, I get it." She smiled as she walked to the kitchen and grabbed one of the pie's from the freezer. She cut the pie and put the slice on a plate before she would bring it out to Luka.
The last hour was dreadful and unbearably slow, she had finally finished cleaning and went to go grab her coat. She threw the coat over her shoulders and looked around the kitchen, seeing that Adrien wasn't around.
She walked to the back door and saw Adrien sitting on a bench, "Hey." She called out to him and he looked up at her. She noticed that the area out here currently had a weird odor, something that smelled like a skunk.
He smiled as he offered her the joint he was currently smoking, "You're going home with Luka, right?"
She took the joint from his hands and took a small puff from it, "Yeah, I'll see you when I get home."
"Alright, if you wanna talk when you get home just come into my room." He smiled as he gave her a hug.
Marinette smiled back as she wrapped her arms back around him, "I will."
He released her from his grasp and let her take one more puff from the joint. She smiled as she gave him his joint back and walked towards the door. She waved to him before she walked back inside. Adrien was nervous because he knew that Luka was seriously going to upset her.
Marinette grabbed her coat before she walked back into the dining area. She walked over to Luka, "I'm off my shift."
"Alright," Luka stood up and they both walked out of the cafe. They got in his car and drove away, it was a quiet ride and they had drove to his house. Marinette bit her lip as they got out of his car and walked up to the door. Luka unlocked it and walked into his apartment.
Marinette sat on his couch as Luka went into his kitchen. She assumed he was getting them something to eat and drink while they talked. Luka made his way back with two cups of coffee and a bag of pretzels. He set them down on the table and sat on his couch, turning the TV on.
Marinette was easily getting annoyed from how awkwardly quiet it was, "Luka, Is there something you want to say? Because, I'm not liking this atmosphere."
Luka looked at the TV as he bit his lip, he took a deep breath. "Promise.. you won't get mad at me after?"
Marinette furrowed her brows, "Why?"
"Just agree, Marinette," Luka looked at her.
Marinette was hesitant for a moment. She bit her lip as she looked away from him, "Okay, I won't get mad."
Luka turned her face to look at her, "Um... Would you ever be interested in sleeping with me?" Marinette noticed that he was switching between her eyes and her lips.
She blushed as she looked away from him, "I-I... I don't know, Luka."
Luka looked hurt for a moment, "Why?"
"I just... I feel more comfortable doing this with Adrien right now," She told him the truth, knowing it would hurt worse knowing if she told him a lie. "It's not anything against you, but I've been in love with Adrien for years. It's only natural for me to be more comfortable with him, he's my best friend."
"I'm your best friend, Marinette!" He groaned and stood up, pacing around the coffee table. "If he was your best friend, he wouldn't have made half of the decisions he's done. How don't you realize that! He wouldn't just be fucking you if he actually cared about you!"
"What about you?" Marinette screamed at him, "You just asked me to fucking sleep with you, out of nowhere?! If you actually cared about me you wouldn't have even asked."
Luka scoffed, "I asked you so you didn't have to continue sleeping with him, Marinette."
"Maybe, I want to keep sleeping with him," Marinette crossed her arms, but Luka grabbed her face and forced her to look at him.
He looked into her eyes, "You want to keep constantly dealing with him constantly hurting you." Marinette flinched as Luka's grip tightened around her chin, "Do you understand what's going to happen? Marinette, he's going to leave you. He's probably gonna knock you up and then leave you."
"At least, Adrien doesn't physically hurt me," She pushed his hand away, "Why do you keep making him out like he's a bad guy? We grew up with Adrien and he's never once done anything to fuck us over?"
"He just slept with you," Luka pointed out, "He knows I'm in love with you and sleep asked you to sleep with him."
"He never asked me," Marinette looked away, "I asked him."
Luka looked shocked, "You asked him?"
Marinette nodded her head, "If you actually let me explain, then you'd know what happened."
Luka sighed and sat down next to her, "Explain."
Marinette leaned back in the couch, "Well, it started off with these kids who were harassing me at the cafe the night before. Adrien had said something to them and that made George get involved, they told George all these lies and he believed him. Let's just say that the lies that they told him weren't nice one's and ended with George telling me to open my legs for those boys if I was going to do it for everyone else."
"What?" Luka was shocked, but instantly felt sorry for his previous actions, "Mari."
"When I went into school the next day, I was roaming the halls by myself and I ran into those boys again. It immediately turned south and they brought me back into a room. I was drugged and they were... touching me, Adrien bursted in and saw me there. He went ballistic and beat the crap out of the both of them."
Luka frowned as he started to rub Marinette's thigh, "Mari."
She ignored Luka as she took another deep breath, "After that... Adrien and I were talking in the car, and I brought it up. Adrien was hesitant to answer at first but he told me that if I did ask that he wouldn't say no." She smiled, "So... I told him I wanted to and he said that he knew."
"And you guys did," Luka sighed, not wanting to think about it. "I'm sorry, Marinette."
"It's okay, I'm not really affected by it because of Adrien," She smiled as she thought about him. She thought about Luka too and frowned. Luka leaned up and Marinette turned to look at him. Before she could say anything Luka kissed her.
She felt his soft lips on hers, she was shocked as Luka continued to kiss her. She slowly felt her eyes flutter shut as she kissed him back. Luka brought his hand up to cup her face as he continued to kiss her. Luka start to rub her clothed core and Marinette lightly moaned. She reached down and moved his hand away, "No, Luka..."
"Why not?" Luka said as he reconnected their lips. He forced his hand back there and Marinette immediately moved away from him. Luka scoffed, feeling sexually frustrated, "Marinette."
"Luka, I said no," She crossed her arms.
"Why? You threw yourself at Adrien," He took a deep frustrated breath.
Marinette was dumbfounded, she stood there staring at Luka. "I what?!" She yelled, "I did not throw myself at Adrien, and even if I did why would I ever throw myself at an asshole like you! I know my worth, and I definitely don't deserve to get treated like this."
Luka clenched his fist and he let his anger and jealousy grab a hold of him, "I'm an asshole?" He laughed, "I'm not the one who's forcing my crush to sleep with me." He stood up and slowly walked towards him.
"I'm not forcing him," She felt hurt as she started to back away from Luka.
"You're not? Adrien's told me plenty of times that he would never sleep with you. Actually, there were a few times when we were drinking and doing some lines," He squinted his eyes, "that he looked over at me and told me how much he loathed you."
Marinette's eyes widened as she looked at him. He knew exactly what he could say to break her, "Stop." She breathed out.
"She just doesn't know when to take a hint, you would think that she would get the idea from all the girls I bring home," He mimicked Adrien, "Maybe if I just finally sleep with her a few times and make her think I actually like her, then cheat on her she'd finally understand."
She tried so hard not to imagine Adrien's voice saying that, but she still heard him. The look that would be on his face, "Shut up." She growled.
Luka grabbed her face and stared into her eyes, "He's always lied to you, Marinette. Even when we were little, he used to tell us how annoying you were as you followed after him in every game we played. Adrien's never liked you and you need to realize that."
Marinette had tears streaming down her face as her emotionless eyes stared into Luka's, "Let go of me." She muttered and slapped his hand away, "You're a piece of shit, Luka."
"Yeah, well at least I'm not the constant reject." Luka spat out, "Your dream of changing Adrien and being able to spend the rest of your life with him, isn't ever gonna come true. You're nineteen, Marinette! You're not a little kid anymore and you need to get that mindset you had back then out of your stupid head. Just accept that you're never going to have him."
"Good night, Luka." Marinette whispered as she turned around, she just wanted to go home. She drowned out the noise around her as she slowly walked down the hallway. She didn't understand why she felt like she was moving so slowly.
Her lip quivered as she thought about calling Adrien, but she felt like she shouldn't depend on him anymore. She had to get home by herself, but... she also didn't have her car. "Fuck," She whimpered as she walked towards the elevator.
She crossed her arms as she waited for the elevator and took a deep breath as she tried to regain her composure. She walked out of the elevator and started to make her journey back home. Luckily for her, it wasn't raining outside but it was pretty chilly.
It was going to be a long walk, and Marinette quickly found herself thinking about the past.
"Marinette!" Someone yelled and pointed to her. She jumped as she turned around and saw Ivan, "Adrien's around here somewhere."
Marinette gasped as a hand wrapped around her wrist and started running. She looked forward and saw his blonde hair as the wind ran through him. Her heart started beating as he turned to look at her, "Come on, Mari... We gotta go."
She stared at him in awe, the way the sun hit his face. She smiled as she started to run faster, they ran from their friends and up towards the woods. Adrien looked around to make sure no one was around before he started to climb the tree, "Come on, Mari... they won't find us up here."
Adrien helped her up into the tree and he slowly climbed up the tree with her in his arms, she laughed as they climbed far up the tree. "It's so pretty," Marinette stared in awe the city of Paris, "Isn't it?"
Adrien smiled at her as they watched the city, hiding from their friends.
...
Marinette finally made it home, she stumbled through the doors and walked into the kitchen to see that all the lights were off. She untied her shoes and pulled them off, before she shrugged her coat off her shoulders and hung it on the wall. She made her way into her bedroom and took off her clothes and changed into one of her sweaters and then a pair of black booty shorts.
She walked out of her room and towards Adrien's door, she pressed her ear up to it and heard Adrien mumbling. She bit her lip as she lightly knocked on his door, but there was no answer. She knocked once more, and when he didn't answer she decided to slowly open the door.
She walked down the stairs and turned into his room, he was laying in his bed with a controller in his hands and a headset over his head. When Adrien saw her, the first thing he noticed was that Marinette looked like she was going to break down any second, "Hey, Guys. I'll be right back." Adrien said into the mic before muting it and taking it off of his head, "What happened?"
Marinette's lip started to quiver and Adrien quickly got up and pulled her into a tight hug. She quickly wrapped her arms around him as she lightly started to cry into his chest, "Well, the first thing he asked me was if I would be interested in sleeping with him."
Adrien sighed, "Luka, that's not your smartest move." He whispered under his breath as he ran his fingers through Marinette's hair, "What else, princess?"
"He got upset when I told him that I was more comfortable doing all of this with you, and then said that you weren't actually my friend and you have never been," Marinette sobbed, "I defended you and told him that I knew that you saw me as your friend."
Adrien rolled his eyes, "Luka doesn't know what he's talking about."
She nodded her head, "After that, I explained to him how everything originally went down."
"Including the two douchebags?" Adrien raised his eyebrow.
Marinette giggled, "Yeah, including the two douchebags." She took a deep breath, trying to settle the tears in her eyes. "Then, after that... he kissed me."
Adrien pulled Marinette away from him and looked at her in shock. Well, she thought it was shock. To Adrien, he felt every muscle in his body tense up as he looked at Marinette's teary eyes. He looked down at her lips and thought about how Luka was the last person to kiss them. The jealousy started to bubble in his stomach and he looked back into her eyes and whispered, "He kissed you?"
Marinette nodded her head, "I kissed him back as well... but... he started to touch me, but when I tried to tell him no-"
"Slow down, he did what?" Adrien's eyes were wide, jealousy and rage coursing through his blood.
"H-He touched me," Marinette twiddled her fingers as she tried to look away from Adrien.
Adrien had to close his eyes and try to relax before he could hear the next part. There was something screaming at him to just walk out on Marinette and grab a bat before he heads to Luka's apartment. He took a deep breath as he opened his eyes again, "And you told him to stop?" She nodded his head, able to tell that he was about to freak out. "Did he?"
"We-Well, No.. but-" Adrien cut her off, his voice a little harsher than he meant to sound.
"No, buts... He didn't stop when you asked him to?" Marinette saw the rage in his eyes. She was hesitate to answer, but slowly nodded her head. Adrien let her go and grabbed his keys off of his side table, "We're going to Luka's."
Marinette started to panic, she grabbed Adrien. "Wait, wait... no, I don't wanna go back. Let me finish."
Adrien turned around and for the first time, she felt like Adrien was annoyed with her. He looked away from her and bit the skin on his cheek.
Marinette swallowed the lump in her throat, "Well, I pushed him away and got up. He got upset that I did that and asked me why, again. I told him once again, that I was only comfortable doing it with you and then he told me that I threw myself at you."
Adrien looked back at her, but didn't speak. She could tell that he was filled with rage, but she decided to continue since Adrien was either going to stand there and listen to her or go do whatever he is thinking about doing. "I told him that I knew what I was worth and that he wasn't worthy of throwing myself at."
Marinette saw the small smirk on his face, but it quickly fell knowing there was more that was said. Marinette looked down, "After that, he told me that I was forcing you to have sex with me. Of course, I denied that but then he told me that you.." Marinette's eyes widened as she remembered what came next.
Adrien raised his eyebrow, "He told you that I?"
Marinette looked at him and swallowed the lump in her throat. She didn't want to think about what he said, but she also felt like she needed clarity on whether Adrien actually said this or not. "He told me that you and him were drinking and um, doing very bad things, and you loved over at him and told him that you hated me."
Adrien's eyes widened as he looked at her, "He told you that?"
Marinette nodded her head, "He told me that was why you always brought girls home, and that it was so I could take a hint. You were going to play with me and then fuck me over. Then... he told me that you were annoyed that I was always following you when we were young."
Adrien's fist were clenched tightly, his knuckles turning white. He didn't take his eyes off of her, "That's everything?" Marinette nodded and Adrien turned to look at her, "Did you believe him?"
She was quiet for a moment before she nodded her head, "Yeah."
Adrien looked at her, completely in shock. He looked a little hurt, "You believed him? Marinette, I don't hate you, like at all. You are the last person I'd ever hate." He pulled her in a hug, "Why would you think I hate you?"
Marinette whimpered, knowing that she was a complete idiot for believing Luka. "I don't know... That's just how my brain works."
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng," Adrien sighed as he rested his head on top of her and held his arms tightly around her, "You are my best friend, you are my partner, you are literally the most amazing girl in this entire world. There is no way in hell, I could ever hate you. You've literally been there for me through countless times, mom would kill me if I hated you."
They smiled at each other before Adrien picked her up and threw her on the bed. He laid next to her, with his arms still wrapped around her. Marinette giggled, "I don't hate you either."
"Yeah, I already knew that." He laughed, as he looked into her eyes. He bit his lips as he stared at her, "Marinette."
"Adrien?" She smiled at him.
He smiled back as he leaned over and kissed her, "Listen, I don't think I probably will ever tell you this again, unless I'm really drunk. So, please soak this in." Marinette nodded as she looked into his emerald green eyes. Adrien tucked a strand of hair, that had fallen out of place, behind her ear. "You're the only girl that I have ever fallen in love with," Marinette's eyes widened and her face turned red, "Do you remember the night that we had stolen all of those lunchables?"
"You mean the night that we all sat at the top of the eiffel tower?"
He nodded his head, "Well, when we were up there. All of us were talking about how big the moon looked. You, on the other hand, you told us that you didn't understand why we wanted to look at the moon when the stars were more beautiful."
"Yeah, I remember Nino told me that we could see the moon better than we could see the stars." Marinette laughed.
"And you told him that when the moon's not out all of the stars would litter the night sky. Each star looked as if they would be the same size, but in reality all of the stars were different than their neighbours." Adrien smiled.
"Well, it's true! There's red dwarfs, and there supergiants." She stared into Adrien's eyes, "We've seen the moon a million times but we've never seen what each star looks like."
"We've seen the sun before?" Adrien raised his eyebrow.
Marinette rolled her eyes as she sat up, "I understand that the sun is a star, but you're missing the point. We've seen the sun and the moon for billions of years, but we've never actually gotten to see what each star looks like. All we see is a tiny beam of light that was sent off thousands of years ago, unlike the sun and the moon those stars could be dead."
"That's why I love you," Adrien smiled as he sat up with her, he cupped her cheeks as he pulled her face closer to her. Their foreheads touching as Adrien looked into her eyes, "Even when there is something big and clear that you could see. You choose to look at the tiny little stars that are speckled around it."
"That's just because I like stars," Marinette's eyes were watering and her face was bright red.
Adrien smiled as he stared into Marinette, "This might be a better example, but even though you know everything that I've done, every scandal I've ever been in, you still choose to see who I was and who I can be. You believe in me and that gives me hope."
Marinette couldn't speak, she was shocked that he just said that. She felt a tear slid down her face, "Are you..?"
"I'm gonna try, I might have to take... some embarrassing classes," Adrien looked away from her as he said that, "But, I have to at least try something. I love you, and I've known it for so long. You're always going to remain my best friend, but I can either watch you fall off and some else catch you, or I can run and catch you myself."
Marinette slightly smiled at his weird analogy, "I'd like that."
"I know you would, but I can't completely promise that everything will turn out good in the end." His smile fell as he continued to talk to her, "I just know that I want to at least try, instead of being the one who just sat on the sidelines. I don't want to put a label on just yet, because I want to take it slow. There'll be days were you think I'm me again, and then there'll be days you wished you never knew me. I can't promise that I won't bring home a girl during all of this, but I can promise that I can try not to."
Marinette nodded her head, "You're trying, that's all I care about." She wrapped her arms around Adrien and he pulled her closer to him. She buried her face in the crook of his neck, "Thank you, Kitty."
"Anything for you, bugaboo." He whispered into her ear.
Marinette stayed like that until she had fallen asleep, but once Adrien was sure she was asleep he untangled himself from her. He got out of bed and put on a hoodie and a pair of slides. He grabbed his keys off of his end table. He turned back around and leaned down to kiss Marinette on the side of her head.
"I'll be back," He whispered before he walked out the door and towards his car.
