Dual Fates

Chapter 5: Decennial Tremor!

Blue hues darted left and right as she sauntered down the hall past many students and kept her hands in the pockets of her hoodie. Sweat trickled down her skin at the thought of others possibly thinking negatively or giving her scrunched faces. Left, right, from one student to the other, her vision was blurring from the overwhelming sense of self-consciousness and fear. The girl kept watching each person from her peripherals that passed her, expecting a response, some sort of distasteful look, anything... However, all she could see were just people passing her by and not even so much as looking her way, not even a glance.

What she did notice, though...were some kids with very strange appearances having fun chatting with other students, and not once did they receive any negative input about their looks. "Maybe...they were right..." her mumbled words left her pale lips and the sound of her own heart continued to beat in her ears as it slowly faded into a calmer rhythm. Recalling what Haru and Eijiro said to her in the lunchroom, a gulp emitted from her throat. Deep breaths, in and out she took with a close of her eyes until she face-planted into someone's backside.

"Oh, sorry..." the girl looked up and apologized after glancing up to someone who wore glasses.

"You! You're that cybernetic girl I saw earlier in homeroom, the new student!" With a jolt in his turn after noticing her small frame over his shoulder, he rose a hand in a chopping motion. All seriousness on his face and blocky movements, the redhead simply stared at the stern boy.

As quick as she could, pink tints dusted her cheeks after he greeted her and stepped aside to walk past. However, he stopped her by moving in her way and giving her a salute. "I'm Tenya Ida, the Class Representative of 1-A! As Class Representative, I expect you to remove that hoodie since it's not proper U.A attire! To represent your school, you must show off your uniform and be more-" before he could continue in his strict and overbearing, loud words...which the girl cringed at and looked away, a friend behind him gained his attention.

"It's ok, Ida, she probably doesn't understand yet since she's new!" Nervously acting, the same boy from this morning with green-ish hair, moved around Tenya's broad shoulders to stop him. The boy seemed nervous, acting rather frantic to try and stop him from lecturing the shy girl.

"Yes, that's right! Forgive me, but you'll need to remove that hoodie! Let this be a warning to you," With blocky and strange chopping movements with his hands, his stern look never ceased, and watched as she was about to rush past him.

"W- Wait! Saito, I'm sorry, he's just trying to make sure students represent the school properly!" Sweat beads flew off of the green-ish-haired boy as he bowed to his waist, catching the redhead off guard a bit. Blue hues grew surprised at the sight of his behavior and took a step back, with a raise of her hand.

"It's...fine, don't worry about it," After Uviel reassured him, the boy rose back up and started to panic from forgetting his own introduction.

"Gah- I'm sorry! My name's Izuku Midoria, it's nice to meet you!" with another bow, the girl simply sweatdropped at his frantic manner and sighed.

"Likewise... Anyway...I'm trying to find this person named Hatsume, do you know where they are?" Asking that, the boy instantly rose up and beamed with a simple nod of his head.

"Yeah, I could take you to her if you'd like," To say the least, Izuku's nervousness was making faint pink tints form on his cheeks and Ida frowned.

"We shall go together! I'll make sure she knows her way around!" Tenya put a fist to his chest and stood straight, not once did his serious eyes break away from faintly illuminating blue ones. Though, the entire stare down between the two, eventually made pink tints form and a quick clearing of his throat sounded. "Let's be off, then! We have hero classes to attend soon and we don't want to be late!" with that, he marched onward and Izuku followed after.

Uviel just stood there blinking her eyes, then looked down at her hoodie for a moment before quietly catching up to the two. Through halls, scaling staircases, and reaching a different department, it took them a couple of minutes to reach a room. Before they entered, Ida knocked on the door and a voice called out to them which made the redhead's eyes widen.

As soon as they opened the door, they walked in and saw a girl with pink hair messing with gadgets at a table. Many gadgets, machinery, robotics, parts, and more littered the workplace. There was one other person in there, however, they paid little to no mind at all of the visitors that walked in. "I'm just here because she needed to know where to find you, t-that's all!" Izuku panicked and was about to walk away until Ida stepped forward,

"This girl was looking for you, she and-" before the stiff student could continue, a voice called out behind them and all heads viewed the doorway.

"UVIEL, THERE YOU ARE! Hey! I sniffed you out and I finally found you! I thought we were going to go find her together!" Haru's voice chirped excitedly as she ran in and gave her best friend a warm hug.

"H- Har-Har..." the redhead spoke to gain her attention and those blind hues blinked, realizing that others were in the room. Tenya's glasses were comedically white and his stiff, blocky hand reached up to adjust them while Izuku just chuckled at her behavior.

"Oh, sorry.~" Letting go, the brunette just giggled at her own actions and sensed out everyone she could. Unlike Uviel, the Class Rep and Midoria were already introduced to her early in the morning so Har-Har noticed another individual in a chair.

Yellow eyes perked up and noticed the visitors, an excited smile formed when she saw the cybernetic girl. Large stars spun in her eyes and instantly did she bolt after the redhead, squealing like some fangirl who spotted their favorite celebrity. Uviel stepped back from her forwardness when the pinky got too close to her face, completely awestruck. "Saito?! The Saito?! Uviel Saito, the daughter of Shizuka and Michi Saito?! AAH!" she screamed so loud, that Haru, the redhead, Midoria, and Ida all had to cover their ears.

"Do you have to be so loooud?!" Uviel screamed over hers and flinched when she nearly got tackled if a side-step didn't ensue. "Why are you screaming and how do you know me when we haven't even met until just now?!" Embarrassed as could be with her flushed face, the redhead kept evading the many attempted hugs and annoyance could clearly be seen on her face.

"Haha, you're the only one in the school with cybernetics! Plus, your parents were famous in U.A and I absolutely cried when I heard that they died! I can't believe that they were killed by a bomb and investigators have been looking for the attacker for years no-" before she got to say anything else, a fist connected to her face and sent her a few inches backward.

Everything was silent...Midoria, Ida, Hatsume, and her partner in the corner all watched with pure shock on their faces. Uviel had a shade over her eyes and a quivering lip, tight fists clenching to her sides all the while... However, she wasn't the one who punched her...it was Haru.

Hastume's eyes stayed wide and remained in the position, with head cocked to the side from the hit. Very slowly did her yellow eyes turn to view the brunette and saw...a very scary expression that many would run from. Those green hues glared sharply and dangerously into yellow ones from her peripherals as if she could see her as clear as day, despite being blind. A shadow had formed over her face and those long bangs hid most of her features, there was something inside her showing that was rarely ever shown in front of others...

What they didn't notice, was that a certain darker redhead lingered in the doorway behind them with astonished red eyes and mouth agape. He saw the whole punch but never heard the exclamation from Hatsume, thankfully. Though, noticing Uviel's teary eyes, his own grew serious and confused.

"Shut...your...mouth..." Har-Har's intimidating voice reached the pinky's ears and those yellow eyes darted over to the cybernetic girl only to notice a stray tear falling down her pale cheek.

With a simple gulp and a rub on her cheek, the pink-haired girl nodded and composed herself quickly. "S- Sorry about that! Anyway, what can I do for you two?! Here to try out my gadgets?! I have equipment that'll knock your socks off, literally!" chirping and changing the subject, she lifted a distant piece suggestively.

Haru still remained in her position, except her fist lowered and those green hues continued to glare harshly at the pinky. Though, what everyone hadn't noticed, except Hatsume, was that an odd, humorous open smirk that spread across the brunette's lips. Kill her...kill her... She hurt your friend, it's okay.~ Those whispered words repeated in her head countless times until a hand grasped her shoulder, bringing her back to her senses.

"Har-Har?" a small, concerned voice met her ears and Yukimura instantly blinked out of her odd thoughts with a gasp escaping her lips. Surprised eyes and a gaping mouth, quickly she bolted out of the room with devastation written on her face. "Haru, it's okay!" With a hand reaching out desperately for her fleeing friend, she failed in her attempt to grab her by the arm and watched her leave the room.

Those tears remained on her cheeks since she never bothered to whip them off, her lips fell into a frown at knowing that there was something wrong and her friend didn't tell her. This was completely out of her character to do something so harsh, or so she thought...

Kirishima blinked confusedly at the brunette's distant backside that grew smaller the further she ran and his frown grew deeper at the thought that something was wrong. His eyes returned to the cybernetic girl who looked absolutely confused and concerned, however, that didn't stop him from trying to lighten the mood. "Hi, Saito!" With a wave of his hand as he ran in, he giggled and greeted her. "Ida, Midoria, did you two rush over to see what the commotion was about?" he questioned the two and watched them both shake their heads.

"No, Izuku and I just escorted Saito and her friend to Hatsume, they wanted to know where she was," After Tenya explained he turned to his stern self to look back over at the redhead.

Taking a deep breath, the girl wiped her eyes and wandered over to the pinky to discuss some matters regarding gear. As time passed, so had their progress with concluding gear. Hatsume kept getting overly excited about the inventions that she seemed to call her babies often and helped her decide on weapons for the upcoming sports festival.

"Um, you see... I'm looking for a weapon that'll maybe...work...with my cybernetics?" Uviel awkwardly averted her blue hues to the side and rubbed the back of her head, still finding it very weird to stand before others without her coverage.

"HAHAAA! Perfect! I know just the thing, except, it won't connect with your system! I've been dying for someone to try my baby out for a long time but no one was brave enough yet!" Hatsume cheered and ran to a corner, opening a random closet. The redhead just blinked quizzically at the pink-haired girl until an object was tossed over to her, which she frantically tried to catch and almost dropped...

As soon as Hastume ran to the girl, expectation, and stars twinkled in her eyes at the hopeful thought of her using it in a fight for a test. "What...is this supposed to be...?" her question made the pink-haired girl perk up with excitement sparkling in her eyes, catching the redhead off-guard a bit.

"That's my Decennial Tremor rod! Well, Decennial Tremor for short, if shorter- Tremor!" she chirped happily and put her hands on her hips. The Staff or...rod that she calmed it to be, at two long prongs on both ends and a rough grip in the center to grab onto. One line just above each head of the metal staff indicated that there was some serious thought put into it, there's bound to be secrets to it that Uviel wouldn't know of. "Let me explain!" the pinky began with an index finger raising to halt her, which she did and blinked confusedly.

"The Decennial Tremor creates manipulable vibrations that can either be dispersed around you in a form of a shockwave or tossed in any direction! My baby is powerful enough to crush the ground with its vibrations alone! I used a lot of magnetic pieces and other parts to create this! I want to see you use it at the sports festival!" With a clap of her hands and laughter leaving her lips, her words made Uviel grow surprised at her explanation.

"Wow, that's actually pretty cool..." the redhead blinked and looked down at the seemingly, weightless rod. As soon as she held it up with one hand, the rod was stood up straight and she noticed how it was taller than her own frame. "Um...does this come in a smaller size?" Asking the pinky, her awkwardly pleading blue hues looked over into yellow ones.

"Nope! It's one of a kind! You'll just have to get used to it! Anyway, about your shoes!" After Hatsume said that part and watched the cybernetic girl moved her gaze down to view her feet, time passed...

It literally didn't take long at all, for Uviel to be given some random shoes. On her feet were boots with strange pieces of metal behind them, that connected to the ankles. The metal pieces were connected between two little balls that seemed to channel electricity of some sort into the bottom of her shoes. Behind her heels were small batteries that looked overly complex and futuristic, they made Ida curious about them. "Those are rocket boots! My own kind that can send anyone who wears them, straight into the sky at a high speed! It only works for a limited time and I'm still trying to figure out how to make the flight last longer with less energy being consumed!" cheerful and energetic as usual, the pinky exclaimed with enthusiasm as she inched closer to the girl's face.

"That's...cool...thanks. I'm...sure they'll come in handy," With that, Uviel nervously, quickly backed away with her hands up and bent over to remove them. Those boots were soon replaced with her school shoes and the new gear she received was stuffed underneath her armpits to make sure they wouldn't get dropped. "See ya, I guess," her awkward behavior was obvious as she backed out of the room, with Izuku, Tenya, and Kirishima following.

Not long later were they wandering down the hall to the heroic classes, thoughts swarmed her mind about how she was going to even use the rod but decided to test it out later after school. "Look at you, you're own weapon! I can't wait to see how awesome it'd be!" yelled Eijiro who pumped a fist into the air and laughed, though Ida focused his attention on her rocket boots and the rod.

"Hmm..." a simple hum in response was all that they received as they watched her swing it a couple of times in front of her, during their walk. Though, despite not knowing anything about how to use it, something made flashed images in her vision occur and her blue hues watched as she skillfully twirled it like a baton.

That caught the three by surprise, especially when they heard her gasp and nearly drop it. It wasn't a gasp because she couldn't hold onto it...it was from sheer surprise that she was able to whirl it easily, which made her jump. Everyone halted in their step as she stared into space with utter disbelief written on her face; never in her life had she wielded a weapon before, so doing that so skillfully made countless questions pile up in her mind.

Midoria saw that look on her face and knew that something was wrong, but chose not to point it out. "Um, well let's hurry. Class is going to start in a few minutes!" Tenya rose his voice and bolted down the hall leaving the other two with questionable stares, behind.

"Come on, Saito!" Kirishima burst out with energy radiating from his frame and pulled on her wrist to drag her along. Despite being forced to run, normally the girl would've groaned but right now she was too confused and shocked at what she just did.
