Chapter 5: Training to be the best

It was 7 am in the morning. Izuku had gotten up early to meet All Might at Degobah Beach. As he got there he saw someone walking up to him. It was none other than Toshinori.

"Mr. Yagi!" Izuku said.

"Well, nice to see you here bright and early," Toshinori said, "Also, you don't need to call me that"

"So... what kind of training am I gonna be doing?" Izuku asked.

"Young Midoriya, you see this beach?" Toshinori asked.

Izuku looked around to see it was a dump. Garbage piles as far as the eye could see.

"For training, I want you to clean this entire beach in the next ten months seeing that you're most likely gonna be applying for UA." Toshinori said.

"Okay, easy enough." Izuku said.

"Doing this should also increase your ki abilities as well," Toshinori said, "One For All is similar to how you use Ki, as it needs a strong body in order to wield it. Are you ready to commence your training?"

"Yes sir," Izuku said.

And so, Izuku's 10 months of training had began. To truly get himself ready for OFA, he trained some days without using his ki in order to build up his muscles. When Izuku wasn't cleaning the beach, he was meditating. He knew he needed to have patients so he kept cleaning the beach as much as possible.

Izuku didn't realize how hungry he was. Inko was having to buy more food for Izuku to eat seeing how much hungrier he has gotten. The beach was getting cleaner and cleaner. Finally, he began to meditate. He saw a snake like figure with antlers and four legs.

"You have gotten far Izuku." The figure said.

"Wait... have I done it?" He asked.

"Yes. Our kind live within people, we await the one to awaken us through hard training. The English dragons are called upon magic. They live in the spirit world." The lung said. "I will talk with you if needed, I will not control you though for it is unwise. I give you the power that is hidden within you. Are you ready?"

Izuku nodded. "Very well."

Toshinori was at the beach. He then saw an explosion of light that shook the ground.

He then saw a dragon fly high up into the air and go back inside Izuku. Izuku was glowing an aura of multiple colors.

"Holy freaking SUPER CRAP!" All Might said going into his buff form.

"Young Midoriya, you did it! You cleaned up this entire beach in 5 months! In addition to that you also channeled your ki and contacted your inner dragon! You are surely worthy of my quirk." All Might said as he took a strand of hair of his head.

"Be proud young man, as you managed to pull off an incredible feet. The time has come for you to receive my quirk. Now… Eat this."

Izuku was confused.

"Huh?" He said.

"In order for me to pass on my quirk, you must digest my dna." All Might told him.

"Well, down the hatch," Izuku said as he digested his hair.

He struggled to eat it but eventually did.

"Now, you'll have to wait and digest it before you can activate it. You still have three months left so we'll have time to train more." All Might said.

Izuku went home, ate dinner, took a shower and brushed his teeth. He put his pajamas on and went to bed and fell fast asleep. He was tired. As he slept through the night, he saw himself in a room. There were 7 other figures before him. They all suddenly turned into various colored orbs. They all vanished until another orb came to him in the color green.

Later on in the evening, Izuku woke up. He saw some strange veins on his arms. One For All finally made it to his body.

"Alright," he said, "Time to be a hero."

Izuku put some training to use. He was joined by Recovery girl, one of the only heroes who knows about this power. She was there in case Izuku injured himself. The first time Izuku used OFA on his arm, he injured it and broke it. Recovery girl then healed it.

He spent the next few months learning how to mix Ki and OFA together. Izuku managed to find an output that he can use OFA without breaking his bones. He suddenly had an idea. If he can surround his body with ki, then why not do the same with OFA. And so he focused OFA at an output at 5% across his entire body so it can get used to it. He decided to call this new move, Dragon Cowl.

There were also the occasional sparring matches he had with Ryu. They were having a match right now as Ryu was testing out one of the first Kaioken gates. It made him move a bit faster and hit more harder.

"You know its really amazing what you're doing with Ki," Ryu said, "Uncle Toshinori would probably run for his money if he were up against you!"

"Yea haha," Izuku said, "But don't sell yourself short Ryu. You're getting stronger too."

"Thanks," Ryu said, "I mean, I gotta be strong if I wanna protect somebody I'm close to."

"What's that Ryu?" Izuku asked.

"Oh… its nothing," he answered.

"Ryu. From the time you and I knew each other you weren't the one to keep it to yourself. So tell me. What's on your mind?" Izuku said.

Ryu finally gave in.

"A certain orange haired martial artist," he said.

"You mean Kendo?" Izuku asked.

"Yea…. I've had a crush on her since 6th grade," he said

"There's nothing wrong with that. Of course, i'm not sure how that feels exactly." Izuku said.

"What do you mean?" he asked, "You don't think I've seen you giving that rosy cheek girl the goo goo eyes."

Izuku blushed at this.

"Wh-what!? It's not like that, I swear! I don't even know anything about that stuff!" Izuku said as his face was red with embarrassment.

"Your face says it all," Ryu said, "Just because I'm named after a Street Fighter character doesn't mean I'm as dumb as he is about romance,"

"I mean... since you're in love with Kendo, I guess that's obvious. I just don't think Uraraka would like someone like me." Izuku said with his head down.

"Don't sell yourself short nerd," Katsuki said walking by, "You've always been there for her on more than a few occasions and you obviously have the hots for her."

"Dammit. Is it that obvious?" Izuku said. "What if she doesn't like me back? What if she's already seeing someone at her school?" Izuku said.

"Yeah not likely nerd. Turns out all the guys at her school are a bunch of dickheads. Especially that one guy who's been hitting on her she told me about." Katsuki said.

"What guy?" Ryu asked curiously.

"Some guy that can apparently turn his arm or fingers into a blade." Katsuki said. "I hate that guy already."

"Yeah, same here." Izuku said looking a bit angry.

"Let's hope he doesn't make it into the heroics course," Izuku said.

"With that quirk... I doubt it," Ryu said.
