2002

Arriving back at her apartment Kate dumped her bag on the sofa. It had been a long week made even worse with the storm hanging over the city with dark clouds. It had been raining nonstop for most of the week. But there was finally a break in the weather. The clouds were still hanging over them but they weren't the big black rain clouds. changing in to a pair of leggings and a vest. Pulling on an old pair of trainers, she thought she would use this opportunity and break in the weather to get in a run around the point.

Grabbing her I-pod she made her way out. She was going to run down to gate house and take the road towards Lady Bay beach before running along the south head heritage trail which would pass an old canon that was reportedly on Captain cooks ship when he landed in Australia and round to the Hornby light house. The headland had some amazing views of the city on a clear day. The first half of the path ran alongside the base before going round the headland in a circle path.

Slowing her pace to more of a brisk walk as she didn't realise that there were steps on the trail she stopped at the cannon. Looking out, despite it being very overcast and grey she could just see the city sky line in front of her and to her left was one of the beaches that was on the headland.

She didn't stay as she could feel the rain coming in off the bay, she continued round the path up to the light house on the east side of the point which was right at the mouth of the harbour. Stopping to catch her breath for a moment. The light house had guided ships in to the city since the 1850s and still shone out on guiding ships and boats in to Port Jackson and the harbour today.

Looking around the views were breath-taking, in front of her was the north harbour and quarantine head to her left was middle head which is where one of the Navys other training bases HMAS Penguin was situated and to her right was the vast Pacific Ocean stretching all way to the north island of New Zealand and with nothing in between. It was an amazing sight even with it being overcast and dull.

"What brings you up here" a voice came from behind her

Turning she smiled seeing Mike walking up the path in the other direction she had come from.

"i was trying to get a run in before the rain comes in" she smiled "what about you?" she asked

"i come up here to clear my head sometimes" he smiled

"really" Kate smiled stepping closer to him and out of the way of other people who had also braved the weather

"it's a view that can't compare apart from that of the coral sea" he smiled

"Oh?" she said

"i started on the patrol boats which are based out of Cairns. It's beautiful up there a mix of mountains and reefs"

"But cramped conditions at least on a frigate you get to see more of the world" Kate smiled

"True but don't forget we have some beautiful waters on our doorstep" he smiled

"Fair enough" she smiled looking up at him

They walked back down the path together. The rain came out of nowhere, you could hear it coming across as the huge drops hit the ground.

"Come on" Mike smiled taking Kates's hand.

The pair of them ran for cover sheltering under the veranda of one of the old light houses keepers' cottages. Watching as the lightning split through the sky out at sea and a low rumble of thunder echoed.

"We best get back" Kate said looking at the rain as it appeared over them "I don't think it's going to stop anytime soon" she said.

Running back down the track narrowly avoiding slipping on the wooden boardwalks that were along the track. As they made the way down the path, they could see the lightning striking the city in huge forks.

By the time they made it back on to the road the rain was really coming down and the storm was still a good few mile away if the thunder and lightning was anything to go by. They managed to shelter under a small hut that was on the beach at the entrance to the walk. Looking where she had to walk it was almost the whole length of the base and then some as she would have to walk it twice to get to her apartment which was right at the far end of the base.

"My place is just round the corner; you can wait it out if you want" Mike smiled "it's not far if we run" he smiled tucking a stray hair behind her ear.

Looking at the sky it didn't look like it would stop anytime soon in fact the storm was getting closer if the lightning and thunder was anything to go by. "okay" she nodded softly.

Walking in to his apartment she was pleasantly surprised; it wasn't what she was expecting although she didn't really know what she was expecting.

"I'll go grab you a towel" he smiled walking off down a corridor.

He returned moments later holding 2 towels.

"Here we are" he said softly handing one to her.

"thanks" she smiled wrapping it around her shoulders.

Running his hands through his own hair he smiled. He stepped closer pulling her towel tighter around her shoulders running his hands down her arms and sneaking around her waist, leaning in he teased her in to a soft kiss.

Pulling back slightly he looked at her trying to read the situation,

"sorry" he said softly

"it's fine" she whispered slightly breathless; she could still feel her lips tingling from his kiss. Looking up at him she could see his shirt was slightly see through from being soaked. She stepped closer kissing him deeper than before. Resting her head against his she smiled softly nodding as he lifted her in to his arms carrying her down the corridor.

As he sat down on the bed, she pushed him against the pillow tugging his shirt trying to undo the buttons, as she did, he sat up teasing her in to a kiss pulling her vest over her head discarding it over the floor. Running his hands along her back he flipped them so he was now hovering above her. Kissing slowly along her shoulder, she moaned softly. The storm outside was now right on top of them both of them lost in each other...

Overnight the storm had blown out to the vast ocean leaving a calm in its wake. Kate woke with the light creeping in on her face. She could feel his arms around her waist.

"good morning" he said softly, kissing along her shoulder

"yeah" she said a sudden feeling of guilt washing over her after last night.

"Everything okay?" he asked

Rolling on to her back she sighed softly " I..." she paused she wasn't sure how to say it. "Last night we. Regulations" she said

"hey" he said softly "we haven't done anything wrong" he smiled pulling her in to his arms

"Brass might not see it like that" she said

"You can't help who you fall in love with" he smiled softly. "any way at least last night proved one thing" he grinned

"and what was that" she smiled pushing her self up on her elbow looking at him

"i was right" he grinned "with the cocktail. You are a girl who enjoys a screaming orgasm. In more ways than one" he said knocking her off her elbow pushing her back against the pillow.

hey so sorry its been a while but was trying to get this to work. not sure i am 100% happy with the ending but its the best i can do.

the description of the path is what i can gather from google maps street view and i am sure i read the fact about the cannon that is on the headland somewhere but not sure where :D

anyway hope its okay and let me know what you think. x

Pulling him closer she giggled softly began kissing her along her collar bone slowly working his way down her body...
