Doubt

Eurydice sizes the boy up as he approaches her and has to refrain from bursting out laughing when he asks her to come home with her as an introduction. The paper flower is cute and all, but poet-boy here must be out of his mind if he thinks she'll marry him at first sight.

Her doubts only increase when the bartender affirms that, yes, Orpheus is always like this. She's flattered when he compares her name to a melody, but his singing hobby and current occupation cleaning tables have her seriously doubting he can provide for himself, let alone anyone else.

Even so…his smile is infectious, his face is earnest, and Eurydice has to admit that Orpheus is kinda cute, especially being so persistent. Maybe she can put aside her doubts just this once and let him in.

If he does make her feel alive, like Mr. Hermes claims, what's the worst that could happen?
