It has been quite a while since Hawks and Enamor met up. The two had been quite busy with their own personal lives, with Hawks doing some hero work that recquired his full attention for two weeks, and Haruka who (in the absence of Hawks) went to train and help Best Jeanist (again) with his photoshoots.

Best Jeanist had made her his newest brand embassador for his Spring-Summer clothing line. Haruka had went through three photoshoots in the two weeks that Hawks had excused himself. Best Jeanist informed her happily that the campaign pictures would be up by next week and gave her presents. Her apartment's closet had a few new additions: jeans, jeans, jeans.

Haruka sighed at the sight and gave a chuckle. She finally tidied the new clothes up and found herself walking to the living room. She turned on the TV and plopped down the carpeted floor, stretching her legs under the kotatsu table. A lot of her notes was sprawled on top of the table. Various books about quirks that were similar to hers was open, a few bookmarked and highlighted.

She had read the books over and over again, desperately searching for just a speck of inspiration. The information about quirks had already been implemented in her brain since long ago.

Haruka was pretty damn adamant on wanting to fly.

Just as she was about to take a new book and read it, she heard a familiar voice from the television that had been on throughout the whole evening. She looked up to see a news reporter interviewing Hawks who looked a little worse to wear. Most of his red wings that she secretly adored was plucked off, and Haruka couldn't help but give a frown. She turned the volume up as the interview went on, curious on how and what her winged companion had been doing for two weeks that he had been gone.

"This is in! We are with Winged Hero: Hawks that has successfully apprehended the growing threat of the drug trafficking ring. The factory is on fire behind us as we speak, and the criminals has been subdued for arrest." The interviewer reported.

Indeed, there was a burning building behind them. So that's why Hawks looked a little bit rough. A few support heroes can be seen dousing the building with their quirks.

"Hawks-san, thank you for your work. We heard you have been working with the police to take down the drug trafficking ring for quite a while now."

"Two weeks, actually." Hawks smugly informed.

"How do you feel right now?" The interviewer held out the microphone to him.

"Well first of all I'm glad that we finally took down the growing drug trafficking ring. It has been a growing worry for the authorities for quite a while now, so I merely helped finished the job. The authorities did a great job." Hawks smiled as he scratched the back of his head and gave a thumbs up with his other hand.

"You sure do it fast!" the interviewer chuckled. Hawks gave a wink and smiled even wider to the camera. Haruka couldn't help but chuckle as well. Her face dropped when she heard the next question.

"We also heard that you have been working together with pro hero Enamor for quite a while now. What does she think of your absence?"

"Hm... I just said that I would be working for two weeks in a secret mission. She didn't mind and let me be?" Hawks shrugged.

"Is it true that you two are dating? There are rumors on--"

"Whoa, we're just partners. We do our hero work sometimes together--" Hawks stopped the assumption with both of his hands.

"There are also rumors on pro hero Enamor back in high school. It is said that she almost killed a friend. Do you think this is true?"

Haruka felt her heart drop. Where did that come from? Hawks was also standing still on TV. He looked a little bit shocked, but his expression quickly turned flat. Haruka felt like he looked annoyed and angry. Who wouldn't?

"Why are you asking me about Enamor? I thought we were doing an interview about the takedown." He tried to change the topic with a polite smile.

"W-Well, the viewers are curious on how your partner--"

"What my partner does in the past doesn't concern all of you. She's the nicest and most ambitious hero I've ever met. I doubt she would do those things you accuse her of."

"U-Um..."

"This interview is over. Thank you."

Hawks wished he had all of his wings intact. He could fly away from this scene instantly, avoiding the interview, not walk away pitifully in annoyance.

How dare they ask him about Haruka! They should've been asking about the takedown instead. Hawks stilled. What if Haruka had watched the news? She was a very private person regarding her private life, and for the interviewer to ask him about a rumor like that that he doesn't even know about...

Hawks quickly dialed her number. She picked up after three rings with an uncertain voice.

"...Hello?"

"Haruka-chan. How have you been?" Hawks hailed a taxi to his agency.

"...Good I guess, how about you?"

"Honestly, I'm feeling a little bit worse to wear."

"Oh... I see..."

Her small voice unnerved him. A taxi arrived in front of him and he gave the instructions to the fanboying driver before the car took off.

Hawks felt a little bit off by her answer.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, I am... Why'd you suddenly call me? Weren't you at work?" She said with a rather tired voice.

"Hmm... I was. I'm just feeling quite tired right now." Hawks whined and sighed. His wings were gone and the interview was horrendous.

"You should get some rest then," Haruka gave a little tired chuckle at his childishness.

"Aww, Haruka-chan. I was just about to come over to your apartment." Hawks said in a sing song voice. He could hear her gasp on the other side of the line.

"What? Why?"

"I bought chicken takeaway." He smirked as he could feel her growing enthusiasm.

"Really?!" Haruka exclaimed excitedly.

"Nah, I'm just kidding."

Silence was met after his answer.

"Hmph. Have a good night." Haruka disconnected the call instantly. Hawks blinked.

"Is this girl serious?" She must've been in a really bad mood then. Hawks sighed.

Now he has to really bring chicken takeaway (and maybe with a few beers) along to Haruka's apartment. Just as he arrived to his agency, he quickly went to the shower rooms.

Haruka didn't expect for Hawks to really come to her apartment through the front door bringing three boxes of chicken from Chicken Palace and a few cans of beer.

"You really bought it?" Haruka whispered unbelievingly.

"Of course. It has been a while since we ate together." Hawks drawled lazily as Haruka let him in her apartment. He had already changed to his civillian clothing and got food along the way. It took quite some time to get to the apartment without his wings and detours along the way, but thankfully Haruka was still awake.

She looked cute. She had her reading glasses on (which he did not knew she wears) and was wearing a white oversized t-shirt along with purple pyjama pants that has pink clouds on it. Her hair was in a low ponytail braid, and he could see the mix of her red and white hair that was tied off by a cat patterned scrunchie.

Haruka let him in while analyzing his state. She knew he had lost most of his feathers and she didn't expect him to come through the balcony. What suprised her was how he quickly cleaned up and bought chicken and went to her place, with a record breaking time of one and a half hours.

Hawks caught her scanning him up and down curiously and shrugged.

"I'm the fastest hero, remember?"

"Hmm... I guess so."

Hawks set the plastic bags on top of the pretty big dining room table that had seven chairs on it and examined her apartment. He had never seen what the insides looked like when he dropped Haruka home from since the windows were tinted.

Haruka had a pretty unique taste, combining modern simplicity with traditional Japanese-style elements. The balcony window spread throughout the living room, and he could see the lit up swimming pool outside. A white, L-shaped sofa and a dark blue kotatsu was in front of her wall-mounted 60" fancy TV. Beside her TV was bookshelves on each side, filled with books to the brim and a few framed photos of her family as well.

He caught sight of her notes that was messily laid on the kotatsu table curiously. Haruka gave a sheepish giggle and explained,

"I was doing my research!" She pouted jokingly at his slight scrunch at the messy table. Haruka then walked to the kotatsu and started tidying the table, then going to the hallway and inside of a room to put them away. Hawks looked at the doors to her decent sized apartment. There were around six doors from the hallway, and on the end of the hallway stood a door that seemed like it could be Haruka's room.

She had a pretty big penthouse apartment. Haruka owned the whole floor. Hawks guessed that Endeavour had bought it for her since a one year old pro hero's salary couldn't cover for this much.

Haruka quickly came out of the room beside it and took the plastic bag on the dining room table to put it on the kotatsu.

"Want to watch a movie?" She asked as she quickly moved through her apartment to take plates and beer glasses from her kitchen cupboard.

"What kind of movie?" Hawks asked back as he went to her bookshelf curiously and scanned the picture frames.

"So that's a yes?" Haruka smirked as she put down the glasses and the plates. Hawks just gave a sigh and continued looking through her pictures.

"You always twist my words, Haruka-chan." He whined. Haruka gave a giggle at this as she let Hawks continue going through her bookshelf while she sets up the table.

There was a picture of Haruka when she was a baby. She was quite chubby in the pictures, her turquoise eyes bright as she looked at the camera with her two-toned hair that was in pigtails.

Next to it was a picture of Haruka's first day of school. Her mom and Endeavour was each by her side. Hawks had to squint just to see a slight curve up Endeavour's lips as he proudly puts his hand on one of Haruka's shoulder. Her mother was clutching Haruka's arm with a proud smile as well. Haruka looked excited in her school uniform. Hawks could see that Haruka got her face shape from her mother.

An older Haruka along with her siblings was in the next picture. It was in a folded frame that could hold two pictures inside to display. On of the pictures was them in the garden, the girl with white hair who was on Haruka's right was smiling brightly and the boy on Haruka's left who also had white hair was holding a soccer ball as he gave a peace sign to the camera. Haruka who was in the middle gave a peace sign of her own as she smiled.

In the other picture slot, Haruka was tightly hugging her younger brother that had two-toned hair and heterochromatic eyes. He had a scar up the left side of his eye. His face stayed monotone as Haruka hug-choked him. He seemed very polite and reserved. Hawks guessed that this boy must be Shoto, her alleged favorite sibling.

He went to the other bookshelf as more professional pictures of her was displayed. Her first day of school in UA, she proudly stood in front of the school gates with her uniform on. Both of her parents wasn't at her side. Hawks looked closely and noticed that her smile seemed different from the previous wide grins.

There was three photos of her winning the UA sports festival, all of them winning first place. Haruka clutched the gold medal in her hands as she stood in front of the podium. He could see that as she got older and her face shape sharper, her smile had dimmed, and eyes looked tired. She had a pretty bad case of eyebags on her third year.

Next was her graduation picture from UA. The two same white-haired siblings were hugging her from the side as Haruka clutched her diploma with one hand, and tried to hug a bouquet of flowers along with a huge trophy that announced she was the valedictorian. Hawks knew Haruka was pretty smart, but he didn't know she ranked first in UA. That was a pretty wonderful achievement. Her smile had a little grin on this picture, probably because of her siblings, but her eyes seemed more hollow and lonely.

The very last picture was of Haruka as pro hero Enamor who stood by Endeavour's side. Her pro hero debut. It has been almost two years since she debuted, and Hawks could see how her costume changed. Her childish smile came back as she proudly stood next to Endeavour.

Just what had happened in her high school years? Haruka never mentioned anything related to school in UA, and when that little kid went up to her for an autograph mentioned about the school festival, Haruka would cringe and looked like she wanted to change the topic.

Did she really almost killed her friend?

"Finish looking?" Haruka's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Yeah..." Hawks shrugged and turned around to the now full kotatsu table. In the middle of it was a huge plate, filled with three boxes worth of chicken. A wide variety of sauces were displayed. There are glass and plates near the edge of the table where they would be sitting on, and cans of beer ready inside a bucket of ice.

"Are those ice from your feet?" Hawks asked jokingly as he sat down to the space next to Haruka. Haruka gave a snort.

"No, wouldn't it be dirty?"

"You said it, not me." Hawks shrugged. Haruka just lightly hit him as she took a can of beer from the ice bucket, opened it, and poured it down on their respective glasses. Haruka passed Hawks his glass as she poured beer on hers. He waited so they could clink their glass together.

"So what are we watching?"

"Chicken Little."

"We're eating chicken and watching Chicken Little?" Hawks gasped.

"So you don't want to watch Chicken Little?" Haruka pouted and looked dejected. Hawks sighed.

"I don't mind."

"You said it, not me." Haruka shrugged, repeating and giving back Hawks' own sentence back at him. Haruka held up her glass and they finally clinked glasses when the movie credit starts. She took of her reading glasses and put it on the table.

"Can you pass me that chicken?"

It was almost to the end of the movie when Hawks heard Haruka sniffle. They have cleaned their hands, having finished the chicken halfway through the movie and ended up just drinking beer while commenting about the movie.

By this point, Hawks thought that Haruka just sniffled because of her runny nose, but as he felt her head leaning on his shoulder with another sniffle, he turned around worriedly.

"Haruka-chan?" He scooted closer so Haruka didn't have to strain her neck to reach him. He repositioned his arm so he held her as she leaned on his chest. The two was on the floor, warm underneath the kotatsu and leaning on the sofa.

Her eyelids fluttered as she sniffled again.

"Are you okay?" Hawks asked as he rubbed her arm up and down in comfort. He guessed that Haruka would be drunk by now, having being a lightweight and drunk around five bottles of beer.

Hawks patiently waited for her answer as he kept rubbing her arm. She was warm, and based on her explanation it was because of her quirk.

"D-did you... Believe what the interviewer said?" Her small voice hicced.

Ah, she watched the interview.

"That I... Almost k-killed a friend?" Haruka shed a lone tear as she avoided looking at his face. Hawks noticed and softly reached her cheek with his right hand and wiped the tear off her face.

"Haruka-chan." He said with a stern voice. His hand that was on her cheek made her look up to meet his eyes. Her usual bright turquoise eyes were cloudy, glassing up from tears that threaten to fall from her face.

"Would you think I would believe that interviewer, rather than you, who I've known for quite a while?" Hawks smiled assuringly.

"I believe you more than her. I've noticed that you don't really like telling stories about your past... But if you're ready..." He wiped the tears off her face again,

"I'm here to listen." He softly said.

With that, Haruka cried, her heightened emotions from drinking taking over. She had been worrying about this since the two first met. Was he like her high school 'friends'? Would he believe the words of people about her past? Would he leave her when he does?

But at his assuring words, Haruka clutched him as she cried in his chest. His comforting arm hugged her tightly. He patted her back in soothing motions. The movie both forgotten to the two as the credits rolled.

Haruka fell asleep in Hawks' arms not long after she cried. He sighed as he softly wiped the tear streaks out of her face. She didn't wake up even from the slightest nudge, and Hawks determined that Haruka was a hard sleeper when she was drunk. One time she almost slept from tiredness on their patrol and quickly woke up when he poked her sides.

He slowly repositioned her, got on his knees and stood up, carrying her bridal style. He used the last few of his wings to clean the table and turn off the TV as he carried her to her room. Thankfully, his guess was correct about her room.

He came inside to see large windows (Seems like Haruka has a thing for them. Probably because she loves heights and the view.) and a large bed, probably enough for three. Her room looked tidy, and he could see a walk in closet to her bathroom as he walked to her bed.

What caught his eye though, (Other than the Endeavour plushie and-- is that a Hawks plushie?) was a little shrine near the windows. Who might that be? He noticed that her dining room chair was an odd number of seven. If he counted correctly, one would be for her, three would be for her siblings, and two for her parents. They're only missing one.

Shrugging it off as it's Haruka's private life, Hawks laid her down on the bed and just as he was about to let go and tuck her in he got pulled down by sleeping Haruka. Her grip was on a lock.

Hawks found himself laying down next to her, with Haruka still hugging him like a koala.

"Haruka-chan..." he sighed. Haruka nuzzled closer to his neck and pleasingly sighed.

"Please... Stay..." her sleeping state managed to utter. Hawks breathed in deeply. He knew wasn't going anywhere after that sentence.

He slowly repositioned her so she would be comfortable sleeping on his arms. He pulled up the comforter with one hand (the other was occupied under Haruka) to cover them. Haruka's hand naturally went to lie on his chest as she nuzzled even closer to Hawks.

He knew he couldn't get away with this, and just closed his eyes to the scent of Haruka's spring flowers, her body warmth, and light snoring. The two laid in comfort, knowing nothing about tomorrow and how their relationship would change.

Hawks was enamored... And not in the way he thinks he is.
