After Janna had stormed off...
"Ugh!" Janna growled as she kicked the wall. "What does he even see in her?! She needs to be exposed as the fake she is!"
"You know, I could help with that."
Janna gasped and quickly put her hand near her skirt pocket, which had her pocket knife in it. "Who's there?! Show yourself!"
Suddenly, Jackie emerged from the shadows, arms crossed and smirking.
"Jackie Lynn-Thomas. How ironic," Janna scoffed. "We all know you have an obsession with Marco, so how could you possibly help me? I'm not after him, I'm after that wannabe princess."
"While that may be true," Jackie giggled. "The little princess is Marco's girlfriend now. Plus, while we may have different reasons for wanting to take her down, we both have the same objective. So why now help each other out with this?"
'WHAT?! SHE'S DATING MARCO?!' Janna thought angrily as she clenched her fists.
"So, do you want my help or not?" Jackie smirked evilly as she held out her hand.
Janna stretched her hand out, ready to shake Jackie's hand, but then hesitated for a moment.
'Am I really about to work with her? She betrayed Marco and she's cruel to everyone. What if it's just an act?' Janna thought while staring at Jackie's awaiting hand.
'No, I have to do this! This is all for Marco! He can't be with her because..
because...
I LOVE HIM TOO GOD DAMN IT!'
"Jackie Lynn-Thomas, you have yourself a deal."
"Now class, I want you to complete these math sheets as your homework for tonight. I want them done by tomorrow morning." The teacher announced while everyone in the class groaned, besides Star. Her face just remained in a neutral stare as the teacher passed the homework packets around.
When she got her sheets she looked at them and almost burst out laughing.
'This is our homework? I learned this when I was 7! Now I'm actually glad mom got me all those private tutors, even though they weren't exactly easy when I was a child, it actually paid off!' Star thought happily as she read the questions.
"If you wish, you may work on your homework for the remainder of the day, or you can do whatever you wish" The teacher said. "As long as you don't disturb anyone who is doing their homework, then you may get up and talk to someone."
Instantly, everyone shoved their homework aside and quickly got up and began talking to one another, except Star. She just looked back at the questions and began circling and writing down answers with ease.
"Oi, Star!"
Star quickly turned her head towards the direction of the voice to see Marco making his way over to her.
"Oh, hey Marco. Are you not gonna start on the homework?" Star asked him as he pulled a chair in front of her desk and sat down. "It's not that hard you know."
Marco scoffed. "Please, only nerds would do homework in class."
"But if you do the homework now, then you wouldn't have to do it later."
"That may be true, but I can just procrastinate. It won't hurt anyone"
"There isn't much time to procrastinate though, the homework is due tomorrow."
Marco just stared at the princess while she returned the same stare, only more innocent and...somewhat cute.
"Do you want help with it?" Star suggested. "I can help you work out the questions."
"Or," Marco started. "I can just copy your answers and then it'll save us time!"
"If I did do that then you wouldn't actually learn anything."
"Oh come on! It's not hurting anyone!"
"It's cheating Marco, and even if the teacher said you cheated off of me then no one would believe it. They'd think I did it and that's not fair."
Marco groaned. "Ugh, fine! I won't copy your answers!"
Star smiled in satisfaction. "Good, now go grab your homework so I can help you."
Reluctantly, Marco got up from the seat and went to his desk to grab his papers. He slapped them on Star's desk and huffed in frustration as he sat back down with his arms crossed.
For the rest of class, Star helped Marco with his homework. Luckily, they managed to get three out of the four pages finished before the bell rang.
"You did really well, Marco!" Star smiled at him as she put her belongings in her bag. "You're surprisingly smart!"
"Are you saying you thought I was dumb?!" Marco hissed.
"No no!" Star said quickly. "I-I just thought-" Star's sentence was suddenly interrupted by Marco's laughter.
"Calm down princess! I was just teasing." He chuckled as he patted her head. Star blushed from the action but then started giggling along with him.
'Her laugh…her smile…' Marco thought as he stared at her with a blushing face, watching her continuously laugh.
"Well anyways, since you got the homework done, what should we do?" Star wondered as they walked down the hall. "We have a lot of freetime on our hands!"
Marco shrugged. "I guess we could go to the park for some ice cream or something."
"That sounds like fun!"
Marco smiled at her. It seemed to warm his heart whenever he saw her happy, but then again, anything could make her happy. Once they had gotten to the park, Star just gaped at it in awe.
"Wow!" She exclaimed. "It's so pretty!"
Marco chuckled. "Well you can gaze at it more once we get our ice cream."
As they walked towards the ice cream cart, Star couldn't help but feel someone was watching them. She looked over her shoulder, but no one was there.
'Maybe it was all in my head..' Star thought as Marco stood in line to get their ice cream.
Star sat down on a nearby bench and continued to stare at the park in awe. Back home, there was a lot of land but not enough parks, mostly because that land was farmland for corn. Everyone on Mewni treasured corn, so there were a lot of corn based foods, snacks, and drinks.
"Here," Marco snapped her out of her thoughts as he held out her ice cream cone. "I didn't know what your favorite flavor was, so I got us both strawberry."
"Oh, well thank you Marco!" Star beamed as she took the cone from his hand.
Marco smiled as he started eating his ice cream. Star timidly licked the ice cream, but once the flavor hit her tongue, she craved more. She couldn't just devour the ice cream in front of Marco like that though, so she just eagerly licked away at the ice cream.
"Must be your first time trying this flavor, I'm guessing?" Marco chuckled as he watched Star happily eat the ice cream.
"Yep! It's really good!" Star giggled. "I actually haven't tried many ice cream flavors."
"Well then you're gonna be in for a real treat. I can take you to the store this weekend so we can buy all the ice cream flavors." Marco grinned.
Star gasped. "Woah! That sounds like fun! Can we get other things too?"
"I don't see why not. I need more stuff to make nachos anyway."
"Nachos?! Those sound amazing!"
Marco chuckled as Star continued to chatter in pure awe and excitement. Marco has never met someone with so much energy and a bubbly personality, it felt kinda nice to see her happy. Before he knew it, Marco had his arms wrapped around Star as she continued to talk amongst herself cheerfully.
Now let's go to our little stalkers~
"Ugh!" Jackie growled. "How are we supposed to break them apart now? They're closer than before!"
"I thought you had a plan for this!" Janna hissed.
The two girls have been watching the couple while hiding behind nearby trees a few feet away.
"I do have a plan! For now we just need a new one!" Jackie sneered.
"You need to go up to them tomorrow and become friends with Star."
"What?! No way am I doing that!" Janna huffed. "I wouldn't be friends with her even if my life depended on it!"
Jackie scoffed. "Well too bad! It doesn't matter what you want now, you need to do this!"
"Why can't you do it?!"
"I already made a wonderful first impression in front of Star and Marco, so wouldn't it seem a little suspicious if I just randomly wanted to be friends with them?"
"Fine, you're right. I'll do it tomorrow morning."
"Then it's settled! Our plan starts first thing tomorrow!"
"Wait a minute, where did they go?!"
