Hello readers! To those that have left a review, thank you so much :) it really means a lot. Happy that you're enjoying and still following the story. I started watching WR over 10 years ago and it's been one of my favourite series to dateas I'm sure it is for the rest of you. I've always been a fan of the lovely Eva Pope and loved her as Rachel Mason. When WR came back onto BBCiplayerI was overjoyed with excitement and started watching the series again (only series 3-5though) my faves. I was disappointed how things ended with Rachel and Eddie, I was watching series 4 coupleof weeks back and had this idea in my head of how I would of liked things to turn out. I'm going to shut up now and let you carry on with the chapter!

Have a lovely weekend/week 3

To my dearest sweetheart Rachel,

When I tell you I love you, I don't say it out of habit, I say it to remind you that you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I feel like everything in my life has led me to you. My choices, my heartbreaks, my regrets, everything. And when we're together, my past seems worth it. Because if I had done one thing differently, I might have never of met you.

Today broke my heart, I wanted to fight for us Rachel, I didn't want this mess to come between us. I'm going to figure out a way that we can get through this together, because that's how it should be, we should be doing this together.

Saying goodbye and not knowing if we will ever cross paths again hurts too much. But just know this, that wherever you are and wherever you go that you'll always be in my thoughts, know that I am with you always.

I hope you can forgive me for all the trouble I have caused you, the last thing I wanted was to hurt you, you deserve the moon and stars my darling and I want to give you that, I still want to give you that.

I will wait for you, until you're ready. So until we meet again, I love you always.

Yours, forever

Eddie

Rachel held the letter close to her heart and broke down in tears, she couldn't handle all these emotions not in one day anyway, it was overwhelming. How was she meant to face the rest of the afternoon feeling like this, this was the first time in a long time that Rachel Mason was lost for words and had no idea what to do.

"Bridget" she shouted

Bridget knocked and opened the door to Rachel office "Hey Rachel"

"Hi Bridget, sorry to shout you like that. Could you find out if Kim Campbell is on a free and possibly send her to see me please"

"Certainly, will get on that right away. Is there anything else?"

"No that will be all for now, thank you" she smiled and started reading the letter again.

After a short while Kim was outside the office knocking on the door

"Come in"

"Hey Rach, Bridget came to get me. Everything ok?"

Rachel burst into tears, Kim wales over and embraced her in a well needed Kim bear hug

"Hey hey, what's wrong?"

She allowed her friend to catch her breath before she had spoken. Rachel filled her in with everything Phillip had told her about Lettie not being Eddie' and Mel lying about everything. She then passed Kim the letter for her to read herself before it was up for discussion.

"Is this what he wrote on the last day of term? The one he left on your desk?"

"Yup!" Letting out a massive sigh

"What you going to do?"

"That's why I need your help, what shall I do Kim?"

"Unfortunately I can't tell you that Rach, only you can decide that. But as a friend I can say this, you two were amazing together and he made you happy. The only reason you ended was because of Mel and the possibility of Eddie being the father to their unborn child, which now Phillip has confirmed that he is not, there's nothing stopping you two from starting again. So my opinion is to say go for it, what have you got to lose, you deserve to be happy Rach and Eddie makes you happy"

"Well you're right there, but why hasn't he come to see me? He's known this for a week that he's not the father. If he really wanted to be with me why not come find me?"

"Rachel, he just thought he was having another baby and getting ready for fatherhood again, to then find out he's not the father. Think how he must be feeling? Plus the embarrassment of it all, everybody knew you both liked each other and then he hooked up with your sister because you turned him down after the fire, she buggers off and does a runner, you two then end up dating and Mel returns and he's back with her. He probably doesn't want to put you through all that heartache and whirlwind of emotions and feelings so soon, I mean this all happened six weeks ago. He's probably trying to get his head round it all and figuring out a way to tell you, properly. You reach out to him first"

"God it's all one big mess isn't it, when you put it like that we're all like something on a soap opera or a family that should be on the Jeremy Kyle show!!"

They burst out in fits of laughter, Rachel felt good to laugh she definitely needed it.

Putting the letter into her handbag "right, I'm gonna finish off the rest of the day here first, and think about it. I don't want to rush into this yet Kim, I need to protect my feelings too, I've been hurt too much and I don't think my heart can handle anymore heartache from Eddie Lawson!"

"Just make sure you make the right decision Rach and put yourself first"

"I don't even know what the right decision is yet, that's why I'm going to think on it. But thanks for the advice and you're right, I do deserve to be happy" she smiled

"Anytime, I'm a phone all away if you ever need more of that friendly advice!"

Back at home, Philip was finishing his homework and Rachel had just finished making supper, tonight's dish Mushroom, lentil and double potato jumble. Something Rachel came across in Mary Berry cook book and she was dying to try it out.

"Philip love, dinners ready" she shouted up the stairs

She finished putting the plates on the table, along with the dish in the middle of her and Philip and got the cutlery and a big serving spoon for the drawer.

"Smells lovely Rach" pulling a chair out from the table and taking a seat, licking his lips he was eager to try this new dish Rachel had cooked up, grabbing the serving spoon and dishing out himself and his aunt a good sized portion along with some vegetables. Whilst Rachel made the drinks and took the seat opposite Philip.

"Right let's dig in shall we, I'm starving" she took a mouthful, pouring her lips and closing her eyes she was satisfied with the taste, looking over towards Phil he was also satisfied, his plate was nearly empty

"Philip, slow down! We're not in a race"

He laughed "sorry Rach, it's delicious. Can I have more?"

Sliding the dish towards him "go on"

He dished himself some more and offered his aunt which she refused, she was never a big eater, her portion would do her just fine.

"Erm Rach?" Looking across to his aunt "would you still like to talk about this afternoon? Or do you have any questions you'd like to ask me?"

She was silent for a bit, thinking what else did she actually want to know other than where Eddie was. She grabbed her water and took a sip before she spoke

"Honestly Philip, I don't know what else to say. You've pretty much told me everything there is to know. My only question is where the hell is Eddie? But you don't even know that, do you?"

He swallowed hard "sorry Rach, no. I've told you everything I know and he just walked out and no one has heard or seen of him since. He's still got the same number though"

"And your telling me that because.."

"Well I don't know, in case you want to contact him. He's a single man now"

"And what's that supposed to mean?"

"Look Rach, I know it sucks everything that happened and what happened to you but stop lying to yourself. Everybody knows you still have feelings for Eddie! And to be honest, I'm worried about it, he's just disappeared off the face of the earth and I'm sure if he seen your name pop up on his phone screen he would answer it!"

Rachel didn't say anything, she looked down at her plate and had suddenly lost her appetite. She put the cutlery down and got up from her seat

"Where are you going? You haven't finished yet"

"I'm not hungry, I am going to wash up. Have you finished?"

"For god sake Rachel!"

Rachel turned round, shocked to hear those words leave Philips mouth

"Excuse me?"

"Stop shutting everything out, me out. Talk to me. I'm hear for you, you know. Or don't you like the truth being said back at you? Look Rach, I know your hurting and I'm sorry. I don't want us to argue about this, but I just want you to know I support you, in whatever you decide. Just make sure you decide the right thing, yeah?"

Rachel sat back down

"Mums out the picture for good, so you won't have any problems"

"Philip stop."

She grabbed his hands and looked at him

"Thank you, really I appreciate it. You care and that means a lot to me. But there's more to it, with me and Eddie. It's not that simple I'm afraid, but I hear you. Like I said to Kim, I will think about it"

"You spoke to Kim?"

"Yes, but don't worry I trust her and she won't breathe a word about your mum and the baby."

"Why did you speak to her?"

Rachel let out a sign, suppose he will find out at some point "Eddie wrote me a letter on the last day of term, I found it on the first day back and only ready it this morning. I needed Kim advice"

"What did it say?"

"That's for me to know and for you to keep your nose out" tapping him on the nose

"Now, nothing more of this. I said I'll think about it and for now it's the last I want to hear of Eddie Lawson in this house. Now scoot if you've finished, I'm going to clear up here and I've got some paperwork to be getting on with. So stay out my way for an hour or so, I'll shout you down for a movie later"

Philip nodded and walked out the kitchen. At the bottom of the stairs was Rachel handbag, quickly glancing back towards the kitchen to she her busy washing dishes, he dug out Rachel mobile and found Eddie number then clicked the message icon

Hi Eddie, I read your letter. I think we need to talk...

Come by my house on the weekend. Speak soon,

Rachel

Glancing over the text to see if Rachel would actually send that, changing a few things and then clicking send. He threw the phone back into the bag and ran up the stairs to his room. What had he just done, was it the right thing to do? He knew he should intervene but he had to, his aunt was unhappy and her life had ended for what a stupid lie his mum had told just to ruin her sisters happiness, Rachel didn't deserve that. Philip started to calm down more when he realised that what he had done was ok, he was helping her find happiness and everything she deserves and more. Plus he was worried for Eddie too and a text from Rachel was the only way he would come back, he hoped.
