It was the day of the first task and the four champions were assembled in a tent where they were waiting for the judges to show up. They soon arrived, Bagman carrying a box.
" Everyone is here, perfect. Each of you will now pick a miniature version of what you will face in the arena." Bagman said
Fleur picked first and it was the green welsh with a 1 on its head. Krum picked the chinese fireball with a 4, Angelina picked the swedish short-snout with a 2 and Cassie picked the Hungarian Horntail with a 3.
" Now that you have your dragoness, your task will be to take the golden eggs they watch over. These eggs contain a clue of what the second task will be." Bagman explained
The judges went to take their places in their stands then a canon was heard and Fleur went first, after Cassie gave her a nod of encouragement.
Minutes passed and they could only hear the dragon's roar, people cheering and Bagman's comments.
Then it was Angelina's turn. The two quidditch teammates hugged each other.
" Remember what we talked about. " Cassie whispered
Angelina then entered the arena. The dragoness saw her, roared and breathed fire at her. Angelina ducked behind a rock and raised her wand.
" ACCIO FIREBOLT ! " She yelled
She waited for seconds that were like hours for her until she heard the firebolt's whistling. It arrived in front of her then she rided on it and she was in the air, with public cheering.
The dragonness breathed fire at her but she ducked and began to think of a plan.
" All right, I cannot approach the nest unless she give pursuit to me but she will only do so if I attack her eggs. Let's do this ! " she thought before taking her wand and throwing flippendo on the nest, purposely missing.
The eggs stayed intact but the mother was now furious and opened her wings and flew in pursuit of Angelina. The reptile tried to bite the girl but she avoided her for minutes until she tricked the swedish into flying right into a big rock, stunning it for instants, leaving time for Angel to fly to the nest and take the golden egg.
When it was done, dragon handlers ran in the arena to subdue the swedish and Angelina was led in the hospital tent.
( Champion's tent )
" That's my girl. " Cassie proudly said, having heard everything.
She then got up and went in the arena where the Hungarian Horntail was waiting. It saw her, roared and breathed fire on Cassie. The dragon girl raised her arms, splited the fire in two and made it crash on the ground, raising dust and rocks.
The horntail recoiled in shock but roared again.
" (Peace to you, great dragoness, I mean you and your eggs no harm) " Cassie said in parseltongue, raising her hands in a pacific way.
The Horntail ceased to be agressive.
" ( You are a speaker. I thought they all disappeared ) " The Horntail responded
" ( Not all of them. My name is Cassandra Potter. )
" ( Pleased to meet you, Cassandra. I am Valka. What are you exactly ? I smell Human and Dragon scents upon you but there are other scents.) " Valka asked
" ( A magical artifact changed me into a mix of Dragon, Basilisk, phoenix, werewolf and acromantula. This changed my life for the better.) " Cassie answered
" ( I am sure it did. Why are we here ? )" Valka asked
" ( Humans placed a false egg in your nest and I have been sent to retrieve it.) " Cassie explained
Valka turned towards her nest, picked the golden egg in her jaws and gave it to Cassie. The dragon girl took it and caressed Valka's head. A light emanated from her touch and went to their hearts.
" ( What was that ? ) " Cassie asked
" ( It was a familiar bond that has been created between us, little sister ) " Valka explained
Cassie went into the hospital tent after waving goodbye to Valka. When she arrived, Angelina got up from her bed and hugged her, making Cassie pick her up.
" We did it ! We have the golden eggs !" Angelina cried
At this moment, Hermione, Ginny, Luna and Susan entered the tent and hugged Cassie from behind, making her release Angelina.
" We are so proud of you, Cassie. You did a familiar bond with a dragon. " Hermione said
" No way, you are kidding me, right ?" Angelina said, stunned
" I assure you, miss Johnson, that it is exactly what happened. " Sirius said, having arrived
" Sirius ! " Cassie yelled, hugging him
" Hello Cassie! Look at you, all grown up. " he commented
" How is freedom treating you ? " Cassie asked
" Like a charm. Taking the head of your house and using it to restore true family in it and banishing vermin will always cheer you up. " Sirius answered
" So no more Malfoys serving themselves in your vaults ? " Cassie asked, smirking
" No more Malfoys and Lestranges serving themselves in my vaults. " Sirius answered
" Come Cassie, you must see your score. " Ginny said
Cassie then went in the arena and Madam Maxine used her wand to make a 9 in the air; Dumbledore made a 9 as did Percy Weasley, Bagman did a 10 and Kharkaroff did a 0. The public booed him.
" Igor, what is the meaning of this ? " Maxine asked ( AN : Sorry but I am not good with accents)
" That girl hadn't fought the dragon, she talked with it, I say we disqualify her immediately. " Kharkaroff complained
" There isn't any disqualifications in the triwizard tournament, Kharkaroff, unless the champion is willing to lose his or her magic. Plus, there isn't any rules that said the champions must fight the dragons, only that they must retrieve the golden egg by any means they deem necessary. So Cassandra Potter hasn't broken any rules. You on the other hand, will receive a warning for your unprofessional behaviour. Another transgression and you will be removed as a judge." Percy stated
Kharkaroff sat back, grumbling and changed his 0 in 6.
The arena was soon emptied to let enter the chinese fireball and Viktor Krum.
The bulgarian seeker ducked the dragon's fire and used a conjunctivitis curse that reached the dragoness.
She trashed in pain, destroying her eggs with her trashing. Viktor tried to approach her but he received a tail slap, sending him against a rock.
The chinese fireball soon calmed herself but she saw her destroyed nest. She cried a tearing wail before it changed into a cry of wrath. Cassie knew what would happen, and ran as best as she could into the judges stands.
" Evacuate the arena. She will kill us all ! " Cassie warned
" There is no need to worry, miss Potter. There are wards that stop the dragons to fry us." Bagman said
The fireball turned towards the stands where the judges were and took a deep breath then she spat fire at the stands. Cassie let out her spider legs from her back and used them to make the judges go down while the fire burned the roof of the stands.
The public began to panic and ran away from the stands.
" Now get out of here, she is mine ! " Cassie ordered
The judges scrambled while Cassie jumped into the arena.
" ( Fireball, Stop your rampage ! You will only make things worse.)" Cassie said in parseltongue
" ( I don't care, speaker ! Humans must pay for my children ! Get out of my way ! )" The Fireball yelled
" ( You leave me no choice, then.) " Cassie said
Cassie then changed into her dragonness form and roared at the Fireball.
The Fireball roared back and they charged at each other.
The red Dragonness flew and bite at Cassie's neck but she shaked her head and neck and threw her away. The Fireball landed on her paws and tried to attack with her fire breath again but Cassie used her lightning breath and the two dragonness were trying to overpower each other.
Cassie pushed back the Fireball's attack and striked her, making her fall outside the arena. Enraged, the Fireball spat fire at the Forbidden forest, making it a scorch.
Cassie then used her frost breath to extinct the fire and she ran at the red dragonness, bite her on the neck, held it with her front paws and snapped it. She then threw the corpse.
Soon after, she turned her head and saw the swedish short-snout, the welsh green and Valka coming towards her. They were followed by Aragog, the centaurs and the unicorns. Fawkes and Hedwig arrived and the red phoenix landed on the centaur Firenze while Hedwig landed on her owner's head.
Valka bowed to Cassie, followed by the swedish short-snout, the Welsh green, the unicorns, the centaurs, and Aragog.
"All of us are grateful to you for saving our forest, Cassandra Potter. May the stars shine upon you. " the centaur leader, Magorian, said
Cassie then stood up on her hind legs, using her tail for balence, and roared in victory.
( In the arena )
Viktor had come to his senses and took the golden egg but the judges, even Kharkaroff, were glaring at him.
Simultaneously, they used their wands to make each a 0.
( Gryffindor tower )
All the Gryffindors, joined by the adults weasleys, Sirius and Lupin, cheered Cassie and Angelina.
" Silence ! Okay girls, what is the clue ? " Sirius asked
" We open it ? " Angelina asked to the audience
" YES ! " they answered
" You really want us to open it ? " Cassie asked
" YES ! " the audience answered
" Well since you asked so nicely. " Cassie said before opening her egg
A deafening yell was heard and Angelina hurried to close it.
" What the fuck is that noise ?! " Ron yelled, having just arrived
" Mind your language, Ronald Weasley ! " Molly yelled
" But mom, It's Potter, she..." Ron began
" There we go again. Potter here, Potter there, Potter has everything, why have I only the only thing Potter doesn't have while I want to have all she has, blablabla. You are a broken record, Weasley. " Cassie responded
Sirius and Lupin glared at Ron.
" Choose your next words and actions towards my goddaughter carefully, brat. " Sirius warned
" Think you are so special, Potter ? " Ron challenged
" I am the only dragon-girl to exist, the only dragonness animagus, the only multi-animagus, I defeated a basilisk with a sword and pushed back a hundred of dementors. So, I don't think I am special, but everyone else think that, so I might as well go with the flow. The girl who was too humble is dead, and like the phoenix, she was reborn like this. I return the question to you.
Do you think you are special ? The answer is no. And don't bother trying to bring the past years.
First year : Hermione was stucked with the troll because of your insults. You had to be instructed step by step to deal with it. Then you faked to be Hurt in the Chess match to not help us stop Quirell.
Second year : You spread those rumors about me.
Third year : You threw a temper tantrum when Hermione had the good idea to make MY firebolt examined then when you thought her cat ate your rat, which is natural.
With your attitude and your non-existent manners, you are a nightmare. It's no wonder you don't have any friends." Cassie stated
Hermione felt vindicated that Ron's own insults were spat back at him. She joined Cassie.
" Hermione, I must do something I should have done for a while. " Cassie said
She kneeled and pressed her lips against Hermione's. The brunette was surprised but soon melt and kiss her back, making the crowd cheer.
" Sirius, pay up. " Remus asked, holding his hand open with a smirk
Sirius grumbled and handed 10 galleons to Remus.
" They could have waited till Christmas. " Sirius muttered
Ron wanted to say something but his mother pulled on his ear and Bill glared at him.
" If you open that shithole you call a mouth, I slap you." he said
But something happened to Hermione : She grew until she was as tall as Cassie, and green wings horns and tail sprouted on her body and Cat ears appeared on her head.
" Okay everyone, the show is over, I bring Hermione to Mrs Pomfrey. Someone warn Mcgonagall ! " Cassie ordered
( Hospital room )
Hermione was examined by Pomfresh while Cassie explained everything to Mcgonagall and Hermione's mother Jane, warned by the deputy Headmistress, while Sirius and Remus were sitting on chairs with Ginny, Luna and Susan.
Finally Poppy finished what she did and turned to everyone.
" Well, Cassandra, I prefer to be blunt : miss Granger and you are now soul-bonded. " Poppy said, to the shock of everyone except Hermione's mother
" Excuse me but what does that mean ? " Jane asked
" It means that they are now married by Magic." Mcgonagall answered
Jane was suddenly feeling really weak in her legs and Sirius and Remus went on their feet to help her sit.
" It Also means that Miss Potter opened Miss Granger's own cache of magic : There was Also part of dragon, basilisk, dementors, devil's snare, werewolf and invisibility cloak. But there was also a Time turner, a cat and a mandrake. " Poppy continued to explain
Hermione then got up from her bed and went with Cassie to her mother.
" Mom, I am sorry we did this without consulting you..." Hermione began to apologize but Jane held her hand up.
" You have nothing to apologize, sweetie. It was outside your control. And if Cassie is the one you love, I am happy for you." Jane said, hugging the two dragon-girls, who hugged her back.
" If I may, I will train Hermione to control her powers. " Cassie said when they finished hugging.
" Authorization granted, miss Potter." Mcgonagall said, with a knowing smile
Cassie then went to Lupin and used her astral projection to go in his Mind. There she saw the beast and she punched it until it disappeared.
She then returned in her own body.
" How do you feel now, Remus ? " She asked
" I cannot hear the beast anymore ! I will not go savage during full moon ! " Lupin said, overjoyed
Cassie then changed into her lycan form and bite Lupin on his wrist, before she turned back into her dragon-girl form.
" Now you have the capacity to change back and forth as you wish." She explained
Lupin and Sirius were so happy the " furry problem was resolved. Remus hugged Cassandra.
" How can I ever thank you, Cassie ? " Lupin asked
" By buying yourself a real wardrobe and convincing Sirius to change hairstyle." She answered before taking her soulmate's hand and pyroporting away.
" What's wrong with my hairstyle ? " Sirius asked
" Do you have all day, Sirius ? " Mcgonagall said
( Chamber of secrets )
Cassie and Hermione discovered that the latter could do what Cassie could except doing spider and phoenix powers but she had a cat's agility, a mandrake's scream and she could control time. She could also changed into a neko and a tigress.
" You learn fast, beautiful. But I shouldn't be surprised, considering you are the smartest witch of our generation. " Cassie said
" Well, I think we deserve a reward for our performances today, don't you think ? " Hermione proposed
Cassie smirked and took off her clothes while Hermione took off hers and they began to kiss while feeling each other's body.
