Waking up El was in the hands of slavers. It was painful, the cut off from the force, the chains, and how they had beaten her into submission to show that they could. Dragging her into slave quarters (they had mistaken her for a boy) they dumped her on the floor.
Now she was in relative peace she curled into a ball letting the tears and shaking come. Bands wrapped around her chest, she couldn't breath...tears continued to fall…..
Then a kind hand was on her shoulder and strong arms wrapped around her, not wanting to take anything but trying to give comfort. And a blanket was soon there. As the hand now moved up and down her back where she was pressed against the strangers chest a voice said soothingly, "It's okay kid. Let it out." When she struggled out a 'who' he answered, "I'm Jango Fett. Don't worry, I've got you."
The Prime Minster had an air of sick pride as he went through his domain showing El all of what his people had made with the Clones. They had been altered so much, and the children were being almost brainwashed in a room as she was lead though it. Finally she had enough, "These are quite impressive Prime Minster." Looking up at the almost impassive face, "I would like to speak to Jango Fett."
Nodding the tall Kamodian turned and lead her down a different set of doorways. When he stopped in front of a certain door he stopped and rang the bell. A curly headed boy that looked identical to the others but she could tell he wasn't like them and the Prime Minister spoke to him, "Boba, is your Father here?"
Boba nodded, and lead them into the apartment. Jango came into the room pulling on his sleeves but stopped when he saw El. She saw his surprise and spoke, "Hello Jango, it has been far too long."
Jango nodded, "Yes it has El'ika." Turning to the Kamodians, "Knight Statarius and I have been backed into a few tight situations when she was a Padawan, which we worked together in order to get out of."
The Kamodians seemed more at peace with this information but did not fully like it. However they made no comment when Jango asked them to leave and allowed the Mandalorian and Jedi some time alone. Looking at the boy Jango spoke to him, "Leave us Bob'ika."
It seemed like Boba wanted to argue the point but Jango still had the old steely glare, and had improved on it in the decade since they had last seen each other. After a few minutes it seemed the pair needed time to find their voices. El decided to be the first to break the silence, "So, how have you gone from killing Death Watch to creating an army of Clones?"
"Reporting to the Council Knight Statarius?" Their was pain and anger in his voice as he asked the question which intensified as he finished, "Or are you pretending to be my friend today?"
"Jang," she said as she moved forward. But he turned away from her. So she shrugged off her cloak, unclipped her lightsaber, and offered them to him, "I am here as El."
He sighed and took the bundle, and placed it on the counter out of the way before he straightened and answered, "I needed to continue the line, and I wasn't worthy of Jaster's Legacy. So I needed a child, one to carry on that Legacy and remember who we are." Looking back at her now, "So when Darth Tyranus asked me to be the Prime for this army I asked for an unaltered clone in return, and I got Boba."
The fact that she was the only person he would have trusted to have a child with him was unspoken between them. As was the question her Master prevented her from answering all that time before. Instead she asked something about his story, "You know who Darth Trynius really is, don't you?" She was looking into his eyes and as he returned the look both knew he wouldn't be able to lie to her now.
So he nodded, "Dooku."
El was shocked, "You are being paid by the man who lead the attack that wiped out your Clan?" After the mute nod she stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder, "I know your code makes it so you give both body and soul to the one who pays you, but can you tell me where he is?"
Jango shook his head sadly, "No El'ika. I can't." A sigh, "And if you oppose him I will have to be against you in this fight as long as he pays me."
There were many reactions she could have given. Striking him, screaming, demanding that he change his mind but this was El and she did none of them. Instead she cupped his face like she had done so many times before and smiled sadly, "I am glad you are able to refuse some jobs." Then she gathered her bundled cloak and lightsaber, added them back to her kit. "I hope the force does not allow the situation where I must be your enemy," and with the swirl of robes she was gone. And if the rain mingled with tears as she went back to her fighter no one else needed to know it.
