"ahh , another day" said Rae cheerfully "another near death experience"

Rae dodged a bite from a giant snake before stabbing it in the eye

Then she dodged an attack from another snake

"So! Uncle Al!" Said Rae frowning "WHY AM I IN A GIANT SNAKE PIT AGAIN?!"

"To improve your reflexes" said Al happily "also so I can flex my armour making abilities"

"I can see how Kelp can be so nonchalant about everything" said Rae bitterly as she dodged an attack from a snake "and how is this armour supposed to protect me from this again?! It's sleeveless!"

Rae was wearing a sleeveless black smooth leather armour

"Because it'll inhibit your movement if it had sleeves" said Al frowning

Then a snake was finally able to get a bite at Rae , sadly it bit the armor

Rae expected death but the snake's fang snapped in two

"Wow...this is actually pretty good" said Rae as she killed the last snake with her daggers

"Told ya! Although it won't stop the blunt shock, I spared no expense when making that armour" said Al proudly

"Fine you were right" admitted Rae bitterly "can you get me out of here now?"

"You have 2 daggers...climb" said Al with an evil smile

"Damn you old man!" Yelled Rae

"Music to my ears" said Al happily

Rae sighed before using her daggers to climb out of the snake pit

Only to see Al sitting down with sunglasses on drinking some juice

"Uncle Al" called Rae

"Yes Rae?" Replied Al happily

"Can I learn magi_"

"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Yelled Al with the fury of a thousand Suns , even his sunglasses broke

"Hey guys! I heard yell_..." said Kelp cheerfully "am I interrupting something?"

"No! Rae here was just asking if she could cut all ties with msle and throw me on the side like bird food" said Al dramatically

"She asked you if she can learn magic didn't she?" Said Kelp bluntly "Grandpa! Why do you even hate magic so much?"

"Yeah , it seems pretty cool" said Rae frowning

"Fine! How about I teach you kids the greatest magic spell ever" said Al narrowing his eyes " a spell that even the greatest of wizards can't achieve , a spell I only achieved after years of grueling studies"

"O...Kay? Let's see it" said Rae skeptically

Kelp was incredibly excited

Then Al started glowing

"PERFECT_"

Then Al began floating before growing 2 more sets of arms , then the ground started shaking

Rae and Kelp were staring at Al in awe

"_TAX EVASION!"

"What?" Asked Rae and Kelp in union

"I save money all the time using that TRULY magical spell!" Said Al excitedly

"B-but the glowing! The extra arms! The shaking ground!" Said Kelp in utter confusion

"Oh that! That was the work of those guys" said Al pointing at a few wrinkly bugs , one of them turned out to be be masquerading as a giant rock

"What?! That was a bug?! I thought it was a rock! It's humongous!" Yelled Kelp in confusion

"For some food, these bugs will help you with any joke you want, their commitment is absurd!" Said Al cheerfully

"How long have you been preparing for this joke" said Rae with concern

"30...long...years" said one of the bugs before dying

Rae and Kelp sent Al some judging glares

"Uhh, ANYWAY! I evade taxes all the time and you can too if you choose the ample living location!" Said Al after sweeping the talking bug's corpse under some dirt "like this location , we live in an extremely dangerous forest , exactly in the middle , this means that the tax team has to go for the excruciatingly long distance without getting eaten or attacked by my traps , and they have to make it back! Or else I loot their corpses"

"You're awful" said Rae frowning

"I prefer resourceful" said Al proudly

"Hey what's that?" Said Kelp pointing at a fly bird thing

"A messenger" said Al with vigilance

"For what?" Asked Rae raising a brow

"That's what I'm about to find out!" Said Al angrily "Geez, today's kids are so impatient"

Then Al made weird noises and the fly thing replied

"What?!" Said Al angrily

"Grandpa?" Said Kelp with concern

"So they think they're something now!" Said Al angrily "well I'll show them!"

"What's going on?" Asked Rae with concern

"Toad tower is planning an expedition to take my taxes!" Said Al fury in his voice "kids! Get in the house! we're having a war meeting"

The two shrugged and entered

"Ladies and gentlemanders , we have a problem!" Said Al frowning "Toad tower is planning a raid to gather our taxes, meaning everything we own including the house! , but we WILL NOT bend to their tax collection powers!"

"What?" Said Rae in confusion

"Just roll with it" said Kelp shrugging

"So now I must ask you for your best trap ideas ,we can't let them succeed!" Said Al dramatically "Rae! Tell me some trap ideas from your world"

"A hidden pit filled with spikes?" Said Rae not knowing what to say

"Smother it with venom! Lots of it!" Said Al sternly and Rae saluted in response "Kelp!"

"We could cover their supplies with the smell of monster food?" Said Kelp nonchalantly "then the monsters will do the work for us"

"Wow...I raised a demon...but we'll do it anyway" said Al in shock "now let the tax evasion begin"

Then the three nodded as they put their hands together

The toads knew they needed to prepare for the worst when trying to tax Al , apparently the last raid was 30 years ago

But they didn't expect this!

Pits with poison spikes , the monsters that seem to have it out for them , and that dammed beeping they kept hearing at night, ONLY AT NIGHT

But one brave toad made it

"Wow, one actually made it through" said Kelp in surprise

"What? I thought they all died" said Rae in surprise

"Ha! AL! You lost! Now give me everything you own, your taxes for over a century will be paid now" said the toad happily

Al began crying

"I lost" said Al overdramatically "I can't believe it!"

"Yeah! And part of your tax is to get me out of this forest!" Demanded the toad

"Yes, of course" said Al as he hugged the toad and began making weird noises

"What are you doing?" Said the Toad

"It's my family's song of defeat" said Al as he continued "also it's the mating call of a giant toad eating bird"

"What?" Asked the toad

Then Al took a few steps away as the toad was take by a giant bird

"Ahh" said Al as a tear fell down his his cheek "nature is so beautiful"

"Grandpa, you're evil" said Kelp smiling

"We'll eat sweets to celebrate" said Al not even looking at Kelp

"Those toads got what they deserved!" Yelled Kelp cheerfully

"Yeah! Screw those toads!" Yelled Rae happily

"I love you kids" said Al smiling as he removed a tear from his cheek
