NOTE: This entire mini arc is me not liking Bees. Emi and Friends secretly taking on a Hive of Killer Bees is pretty fun to write.

Chapter 5: Bee Fest!(Part 2)

The light of the afternoon sun is usually a sign of a good day for the people of Earth. However, for a certain trio it was a constant reminder of the time limit they're on.

High above the trees was a large green insect flying in the sky. The bug wore a pink sleeveless jumpsuit with black linings which covered most of her tail, and her hands had a pink coloration similar to fingerless gloves. Her body mainly consisted of two humanoid green arms with clawed fingers and four insect-like flat legs. Her head had four pedunculated eyes, two on each side of her head. Two light wings on her back and a black stinger on her tail.

On the bug's back were two human middle school girls. One carried a backpack and a wood/metal shield on her back. The other one carried a bow with a quiver of arrows on her back.

"God, Emi. This form smells atrocious," Rekka complained, pinching her nose.

"I know, Rekka! You've made that very clear the moment I turned into Stinkfly," Emi replied back, embarrassed by the bad smell this form possessed. Its name was also a unanimous decision, because of the stench.

Mai re-adjusted her position on Stinkfly's back, tightening her grip around Rekka's waist. "You guys sure we'll be fine?"

"Stop worrying so much, Mai. We'll take down these Killer Bees and make it back to camp before curfew," Rekka reassured her nervous friend.

Emi turned two of her eyes to look back at her friends. "You sure we got everything that we needed?"

"Hmm...shield? Check. Water balloons? check. Arrows and bow? Check. Yup, seems we got everything," Rekka answered as she and Mai looked over the supplies.

"Good, let's go over the plan one more time."

At the dead of night the trio of girls sat in their tent using the flashlights on their phones to look over their plans.

"Tomorrow the counselors scheduled a archery lesson in the morning and another scavenger hunt in the afternoon," Emi explained.

"Great! How is that beneficial to us?" Rekka asked.

"It means we'll have more than enough of a reason to disappear without looking suspicious," Emi said.

"That archery part could come in handy too," Mai suggested. Rekka looked confused as to why.

"That's right! Your dad took you to archery lessons as a kid," Emi remembered from their past. The idol gained a shocked look.

"Mai! Why do you have all these skill sets I don't know about!?" Rekka shook Mai by her shoulders.

"I-I-It never came up!" Mai replied with a dizzy look.

"Anything else you guys think we should grab?" Emi asked. Rekka snapped her fingers as the light bulb above her head went off.

"Water balloons."

"Water balloons?"

"Water killed those bees that were chasing us earlier today. So if we fill enough water balloons then that should be able to help," Rekka smirked, proudly.

"We can't kill them, Rekka. And those water balloons won't last all night, especially since the counselors check inventory every morning," Mai explained.

"No wait. I'm sure we can find a way to get them under the counselors' noses and maybe the watch has a form that can preserve the balloons," Emi began to search through the watch.

"Maybe you should transform away from the camp," Rekka suggested to Emi. To which the blue eyed girl blushed in embarrassment.

The girls snuck a bit away from the camp, as to not attract any attention. Once they felt to be far enough, Emi began to look through the roster again.

She skipped through the ones she already knew, before stopping at a strange looking one. "It resembles a bug. Oh! Maybe it's a bee one and could help us beat them!" Emi thought and pressed down on the dial.

When the green light died down, Rekka and Mai immediately gagged at the disgusting smell that came from the transformed Emi.

"Emi…you stink…"

"HUH!?" Emi blushed embarrassed and tried to smell her body. Though, she couldn't smell the horrid fragrance. Rekka pulled out her phone and showed Emi what she looked like. The Bermuda user almost shrieked in terror at the grossness that she had turned into.

"You look like some sort of…Stinkfly," Mai said, backing away from Emi a bit. Causing the fly girl to frown harder.

"What can this thing even do, besides the obvious flying?" Rekka asked, doubtful of its usefulness.

"Let me concentrate," Emi started to concentrate to see if the form could do anything. Suddenly slimy goo shot out of her eyes like projectiles. The human girls barely managed to avoid the slime, and looked to see it hit the trees behind them. The goo stuck to the trees like super glue.

The girls stood there each one giving nervous glances to one another.

"Emi go touch it," Rekka decided and Mai nodded her head in agreement.

"What!? Why me!?"

"Because it came from you and I refuse to ever touch that," Rekka stepped back from the trees with Mai. Sighing in reluctance, Emi walked over to the goo and touched it. Blinking in surprise, Emi noticed how sticky and bouncy the slime felt.

"Hmmm...maybe we can use this stuff for the water balloons," Emi suggested.

"Why?" The other two asked, both curious and disgusted.

"Well, it's sticky and bouncy. I'm sure they'll be able to stay together long enough for us to use them tomorrow and hopefully they won't kill the bees," At hearing that last part Mai accepted Emi's idea, and Rekka reluctantly agreed. She still didn't want to touch that slime.

"With that decided, let's go gather our supplies," Emi said.

"Hold on, there's still the Queen of the Hive. How do we deal with her?" Mai asked. Emi gave her friend a thumbs up.

"Leave the Queen to me, Mai. You guys just focus on keeping the bees outside busy."

"Yup! We keep the bees busy while you kill the Queen!" Rekka answered.

"No! We don't kill the Queen! The entire bee hierarchy falls apart without the Queen. The bees might as well all die without her," Mai protested. Rekka didn't respond, but frowned at her friend's persistence on not killing the bees.

"Don't worry, Mai. Just focus on handling those bees," Emi said.

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ

"Speaking of bees," Rekka muttered, annoyed. The girls looked ahead to see a group of basketball sized bees approaching them.

"Alright girls! This is what we prepared for!" Emi shouted and started to shoot slime at the bees. Each shot wrapping around a couple of bees, sending them down to the ground floor. Mai took out her bow and shot an arrow.

The tip of the arrow was removed and replaced with a slimy water balloon. When the arrow hit a bee, the slime burst forth. Spreading and landing on multiple bees, the slime covered bees fell into the trees and hung on the branches; Buzzing up a storm. Seeing that the bees were still breathing, Mai fired off some more shots.

Rekka felt useless as there wasn't much for her to do at the moment while her friends took out the army of bees in front of them. "Not my fault that I have terrible aim," Rekka pouted in her thoughts.

After dispatching that first batch of bees the girls saw the Hive in the sights. "Wait! Did that thing get bigger!?" Emi asked, shocked.

"The bees must've taken so much of the forest for it to get this big already," Mai theorized.

"We can't let them continue tearing things apart! Let's take them down, girls!" Rekka pumped her fist. The other two joined her in the fist pumping.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Emi's eyes turned towards the red blinking watch that was on the middle of her face. The fly girl quickly started to descend towards the ground so the three of them didn't fall to their deaths. In a flash of red light the girls screamed as they fell into a tree. Luckily not from that far of a height.

Emi spat leaves out of her mouth as she was hanging off of a branch by the back of her white hoodie. She frowned at the tearing sound her hoodie was making. "Mom's going to kill me for ruining this," Emi said.

"Not if those bees don't kill us first," Rekka said, sarcastically. Shaking the sticks and leaves out of her hair. Her violet orbs turn to see Mai unhooking Emi from the tree, so she decides to slowly climb down on her own.

After dusting themselves off the girls hid behind some bushes to observe the obstacles in front of them. Large bees buzzing around, uprooting trees, lifting rocks, ripping out bushes, and using each to expand the Hive.

"Should we wait for the watch to recharge?" Mai asked, looking towards her companions.

"We don't have the time for that. Gotta take out these bees quickly. Just create a path for me and I'll rush into the Hive," Emi instructed her friends. The two nodded their heads in understanding.

Mai wrapped her arms around Emi. "Stay safe. I don't want to lose my best friend on a camping trip."

Rekka also hugged Emi. "If you need our help, just scream at the top of your lungs and we'll come rushing to aid you."

Emi returned their hugs. "Don't worry guys. I'll be back soon and this whole situation will be over." With those words spoken Mai and Rekka rushed out of the bushes and started attacking the workers outside. Rekka threw slime filled water balloons while Mai shot with her arrows.

Enraged by the disturbances and attacks, the bees chased the fleeing girls. With the workers gone Emi sprinted into the Hive, ready to confront the Queen.

Inside of the Hive were both organic and metallic features that reminded Emi of something. Though the middle schooler couldn't remember exactly what at the moment.

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ

Ducking behind some discarded trees, Emi noticed even larger bees buzzing around. These bees were almost the size of motorcycles and their stingers looked more like metal buzz saws. Shivering at the thought of being attacked by those, Emi looked around for clues of where the Queen would be located.

Her attention was grabbed by the sound of large doors opening. Turning to look at her upper right, she noticed large honeycomb shaped doors closing after a few bees had entered it. "That must be where the Queen is located. Just gotta wait out the watch and I'll be able to enter."

BZZZZT

Emi's reflexes kicked in and she rolled out the way of a buzz saw almost cutting her in half. The young Sendou jumped to her feet in a hurry. As the attacker bee unattached itself from the discarded lumber, more and more Attacker Bees appeared to attack.

"How did they even know where I was? It's as if someone told them," Emi backed away from the approaching bees. The bees didn't hesitate to rush the preteen and the preteen didn't hesitate to start running.

BING

Blue orbs shifted downwards to the bulky watch on her wrist. Smiling at the sight of the green faceplate, Emi quickly activated the watch and slammed down on the dial. The entrance hall of the Hive was enveloped in a green light, confusing the Attacker Bees.

Suddenly a wave of fire erupted from the green light, roasting half of the Attacker Bees. Confused by the sudden loss of their brothers, the ones that were left turned back to the source of the flames.

Heatblast stood prime and ready to fight back and shot a fireball at the Attacker Bees, but they separated to dodge the attack.

Heatblast charged up fireballs in both hands and glared at her opponents. "Sorry Mai, looks like I won't be able to keep that promise after all," Emi apologized mentally as the Bees shot their buzz saws at her.
