His father had called for him, and he was worried that he might already know what he had been up to the past few weeks. He had considered avoiding the visit completely but his mother had requested for him to attend his father's call. He had never been able to refuse his mother, so here he was, having dinner in his old house with his parents and his half-brother.

Up until then his father hadn't mentioned anything that alerted his suspicions. It had been the normal and rather boring conversation about how the business was going now that his father decided to retired and pass everything to his sons. It was not until after dinner when his father had asked to see him alone that he started to feel really anxious.

"How are you doing, son?" his father had asked not bothering with trying to hide the real meaning behind his question.

"Could've been better if you take Sesshoumaru off my back, the asshole likes to boss me around in the office…" he complained trying to act as normal as he could.

"You know that's not what I meant" he commented in a stern tone….

"I know… I'm okay." He assured.

"Are you?" he pressed.

"Hundred percent sure." He lied.

"Myoga told me about your nightly trips." His father finally decided to go straight to the point, and a cold chill went down his spine, he was afraid of that, he would kill the old flea when he saw him.

"I'm not at all surprise that he did" he answered trying to sound the last bit concerned about him knowing.

"What are your intentions, son? Why are you going there?"

"It doesn't mean anything." He stated

"I don't believe you. Son, you have to let it go, it's been ten years already, I thought you have forgotten about her."

"Well, I haven't. Okay. I think I deserved at least an explanation for what happened, and I cannot let go of it that easily, not after I realized who she really was for me! How could I? Would you be able to just turn your back on mom?" his father looked him with sad but understanding eyes and shook his head and denial to answer his question.

"Just promise you will be careful, I… I never believed what her grandfather told me then, but there is not a way to be certain that it was simply an unintentional accident…"

"I don't need proofs, I know it was..."

"You can't be sure, even your memories of the accident are fogged…"

"I don't want to hear it again…"he interrupted him and stood up "if that was everything you wanted to tell me, then I'll take my leave now." He didn't wait for his father to answer, he simply walked out of the room and gave an apologetic nod to his mother that stood from her seat on the couch as soon as she saw him walk out. He could smell her worry and anxiety and that made it all the more difficult to stay there. He had gotten to his parents' house on his car, but he left it forgotten on his rush to get away from there, form the truth everyone wanted him to accept but he refused to acknowledge…

Kagome had tried to kill him that day.
