Chapter 4:

"Getting to know the students - Nee-chan?"

It was a relief that finally communication was once again limited only to words. Although some of him had begun to find the whole sign thing amusing. Of course, not even under torture would he admit it to his teacher and to that group of idiots he had recruited; but back to the main subject. She had a magic that allowed whoever possessed her to speak and understand any language she needed to communicate with. It wasn't as if she could start speaking German or Mandarin just by wishing to, she had to be in front of someone who spoke that language.

-Although the truth is Harry has never been the chewing soul.

Brain had taken them to the inn where he was staying. So while he and Jellal were discussing how to proceed upstairs, the little green-eyed boy was sitting on a stool in the lobby. He had both hands on his knees and was staring at the wooden floor. He was still very confused, why could he suddenly understand what all those strangers were saying? Where was this Fiore? Who was this big man? Would Jellal take long? He felt even more lost without him by his side, and he could fly!

-Leave me the hell alone!

-Come on Racer, don't be a sore loser-I was halfway through his thoughts when two teenagers burst into the entrance hall. One had his yellow hair combed back, as if he had stuck his head out the window of a speeding car. The other had slightly darker skin, with reddish-mahogany hair; both must have been the same age as Jellal, they were the same height as each other. The blond, Racer, walked angrily with his hands in fists while the red-haired man walked behind him, hands in his pockets and a mocking expression on his face. Both passed in front of him without realizing his presence.

-Where did this raggedy-ass child come from? He practically jumped into his seat when a third person joined the group. She was softer and more fluid, as delicate as the young girl from whom she came. Apparently she had entered shortly after the two boys. She was wearing a simple white dress as well as her hair, it wasn't as long as the other girls' but Harry thought that cut was quite nice. Despite her dismissive attitude towards him.

-The first two stopped and turned. Now Harry was intimidated as he looked down and tried to shrink into place.

-Maybe, but...-The mahogany hair came closer and strangely seemed to smell the air around him with his eyes closed. Then his expression turned slightly upset, as if he sensed some discomfort.

-That smug guy," Racer's boss frowned as he crossed his arms, "he's certainly very strong, but...

-How do you know Jellal, little one? Surprisingly, Angel softened a little when he learned that fact, and even sat on the stool next to him. Harry was never good at talking, much less being the center of attention.

-Hey, I-I...-I wasn't used to people talking to him either-I lost it, and he brought me here. He's upstairs with a very big man.

-That will be the master-Angel's comment. However, what really intrigued her was that it was Jellal who had taken him. As far as she knew he was in the middle of his training, had she really left him alone to take a lost child back? It was really curious.

-And why did Señorito Fernandez decide to bring a little tramp with the teacher," Racer asked, although he almost immediately went flying into the wall behind him. Everyone, including Harry, turned to see Brain and Jellal on the stairs. The second one in front with his hand shining in the direction of the corridor, his eyes were shadowed and his nose slightly wrinkled; both Cobra and Angel said nothing, although the first one stepped aside when the blue-haired man passed in front of him towards Harry who looked at him expectantly. I had seen Jellal upset before, but now he seemed different. Scary.

-Are they bothering you? -Although when he knelt down in front of Harry his expression became soft, almost tender. Was he always like that? Harry shook his head in a silent gesture, causing Jellal to flip his hair funny-although we can understand each other now, you don't talk much, do you?

-What tenderness...-Angel had a tender expression with one hand on his cheek as Racer and Cobra pretended to vomit behind his back. On the other hand his teacher, Brain, only whitened his eyes as he went back up the stairs. At times like this, he questioned how sensible the idea of choosing teenagers, hormonal and hardheaded, to be the pillars of the seal had been. Whatever the case, he was still a scientist and used to dealing with the eternal "trial and error".

While Harry had been waiting downstairs, Jellal and Brain had decided to keep Harry for a while longer; after all, the guild master had noticed that Harry did indeed emit a certain magic wave on a very particular frequency. And after listening to the story of the confrontation with Vulcan, it was possible to assume that the magic he had used to manipulate the environment had come from his possession of the infant's body. Although, Jellal still wondered what he would have done if his master had decided he wasn't interested.

-Mmmm-It was already midnight and he was sitting on the window frame watching as the leaking moonlight illuminated little Harry who was sleeping soundly. There, in the darkness and silence of the room, he could be honest with himself. That's why, as he lay down next to Harry, he decided that his training could wait a week or two.

After all, I couldn't leave him alone with that bunch of freaks Brain had gathered.

So for the next two weeks Jellal dedicated himself to teaching the little green-eyed boy everything he could. Mainly to loosen his tongue a little more; Harry was very shy and usually Jellal had to sense that he wanted to ask something. For example, when they walked around town, it was obvious that many things were new to Harry, so every time he saw something, Jellal took time to show and explain it to him. He also tended to fake a certain indifference by saying things like

-If you want something, just say so, I don't read minds, you know? Even though it was hard to maintain that facade when I walked hand in hand with Harry.

-Good enough!

"-He thought after Angel, who had been with them since noon for some unknown reason, exploded, taking a couple of steps forward and facing them with his arms like jugs.

-I'm sick of having my beauty tarnished by a brat wearing those rags.

-But before finishing her sentence, the whitehead took Harry and ran off in an unknown direction, leaving Jellal alone and alarmed with an expression that would have been funny to see on any other occasion. But now she had to save Harry from that self-centered lunatic.

-Mini mini! Try again- I just didn't count on this one being smarter than it looked. Apparently she had summoned The Twins, Gemini, to act as a decoy for the whole town while she did whatever she had planned. Although perhaps she had made a storm in a glass of water; it turned out that Angel, in a fit of strange generosity, had taken Harry around the two or three clothing stores in town looking for something nice to match her, to quote her. He had also taken Harry to get his hair done, or to try it out. Although it wasn't until dinner that Jellal was finally able to see Harry again:

-who, by the way, looked quite embarrassed in his new clothes. He was now wearing new brown khaki pants and thick winter sprouts, the collar of an aquamarine shirt peeking out from under the white winter coat Angel had insisted he wear, because that would match the two when they went out. Also, instead of having her hair forcibly combed with that horrible cut she was wearing, after some work they had managed to leave her a little more evenly cut; quite short on the sides and slightly longer on top, and especially without that horrible half fringe that used to cover her scar. Maybe it was too short, but as soon as he grew up he would look very good.

-Now, there will be no one to resist this tenderness. At her side, the white hair was flaunting her excellent work as she pinched Harry's cheeks.

-Harry is not your doll. He spat out the blue film by taking it and pushing it away from that little girl like a rag doll. Then he turned around and pointed to Cobra, Racer and Hoteye who were playing cards at a table-If you want to play beauty salon there are three monigotes to do it.

-But they're not half as pretty as Harry!

-Well, that's too bad!

-Oe oe..." said Cobra as he tried to ignore the two fighting behind him. "Did they just belittle our appeal?

-AngelNee-chan was very nice, and she bought me clothes that I like... She said with red cheeks... And she bought me candy, and she said that I can do my hair any way I want.

-Afff...-Jellal sigh tired. It was hard to argue after that; though I only wished Angel would take away that annoying smirk of contentment. Since when are you "Angelnee-chan"?

Although he had to admit that since he had new clothes, Harry looked a little more confident. He was encouraged to talk a little more and didn't hide so much behind Jellal when they were on the street. Not that he would stop, but at least there was an improvement; besides, even with the teasing of Cobra with whom they shared a room, he had discovered that he didn't sleep peacefully unless he had Harry around. For some reason his subconscious had turned him into his teddy bear. Moreover, with the constant attention of the only girl in Prayer Six, he also discovered a facet of himself that he did not know: he was jealous. And a lot of it.

That's why, as the days went by, the more they shared and got used to each other, Jellal couldn't stop thinking about something important. So, taking advantage of Brain had taken his gang of misfits to train, he took Harry to the edge of town where he picked him up and sat him on the railing of the bridge:

-Hey Harry, that way they could talk face-to-face. Where are you from? No one ever asked him that question, and he got an idea of why Harry didn't talk about it.

-Little Lingue replied, "I'll stay while I look around.

-"He's definitely a foreigner," he thought. -"What about your parents? But there was no answer. "Don't you want to go back to them? Harry bowed his head and firmly denied. Harry can tell me, I'm not going to get angry.

-I don't have any parents- -He responded quickly.

-And who do you live with?

-With my uncles," he replied, and suddenly raised his face again, "but I don't want to go back, please Jellal..." I plead with his broken look of fear and despair, "please Jellal, I'll do anything, I can clean, I can cook.

"-It's obvious that his uncles forced him to do all that," he thought angrily with his head down. I take a couple of deep breaths, aware that I might scare him-Harry you don't have to do any of that.

-Still covering his mouth, but he didn't say anything anyway. He just cried. The thought that he might return to the Dursleys terrified him; he had been having such a good time. Jellal was kind to him, always taking care of him, didn't mind him asking questions or talking, let him eat as much as he wanted, didn't force him to do anything he didn't want to do, and liked the way he was always messing up his hair.

-Harry, you're not going back to them," I said as he slowly moved his hand, "but... I had to be honest, you can't stay with me.

-...-

-It's not a good idea," I added, "even though it hurt him to see that look on his face. I'm not a good person.

-But...

-And you're weak." He continued, "If you want to be with me, you must be strong.

-I...-The green-eyed man hesitated. Fearful of the expectant gaze of those big brown eyes -I want to stay, but-

-Hey," he suddenly felt Jellal grabbing him by the head and forcing him to bend over. I promise" and say thank you.

When he finished speaking, he stared, with a frown and crossed arms, at Harry who was looking at him in confusion as he tried to rearrange his hair. Several minutes passed in silence, just looking into each other's eyes. Just long enough for Harry to understand what Jellal was trying to tell him. Then he smiled shyly, uncertainly nodded his head:

-Well, that was the first time Harry saw that wide, happy smile on his new friend's face. Don't let Cobra or any of the freaks bother you; don't bother the master and do whatever he says, he's tough but bright..." As I gave him all the important advice Harry nodded his head. At the end I add one more thing, and Harry," he said with a slight blush on his cheeks, "could you...?

To be continued...

Uhhh! With that ending, even I got anxious...

UHUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
