Chapter 5: The city of fiends, the cursed fate of Two Sisters!

Land of Fang, Tiron

Tsuru was not far behind Rachel who was fighting fiends. The way she fights with the two handed warhammer was quite astonishing seeing as she was to swing it around with no difficulty and able to walk around while carrying it. Rachel was definitely not an ordinary human.

Tsuru then also noticed some fiends stocking around her and quickly activated her new arm blades. "Sorry but I have no intention of being part of anyone's menu tonight!" She said as she started fighting the demonic creatures. She was Definitely faster than the dinosaur like demons Who tried charging at her only to be the capitated after one quick Strike after she dashed right past them.

Then new types of fiends came out ones shaped like Spiders and even ones that resembled a humanoid cat that looked female. Tsuru her short sword to kill the spider fiends killing them easily. Although the cat fiends were a challenge considering they were fast and agile like her. Dodging their claws she focused her Ki into her blade and spun around like a twister cutting down 2 of them before jumping up and delivered a downward stab to the last one hitting it in the eye. "Is that all? I was expecting a more then just a few."

As if To answer her challenge more fiends appeared out of nowhere In numbers around 20. "That's more like it!" Tsuru said welcoming the challenge and began using her arm blades.

Rachel who just finished off the last fiend she was fighting noticed Tsuru who was fighting fiends as well. Tsuru was moving very fast killing everything in one or two strikes as more fiends appear. Just as it looked like Tsuru would be overwhelmed leading to Rachel intervening she is surprised when Tsuru unleashed what appeared to be a world wind of blades that tore apart the monsters that surrounded her.

Tsuru took a deep breath and exhaled before retracting her arm blades as the corpse of the dead fiends disappeared. "Not bad." Tsuru turned to see Rachael sitting on the wall looking down at her. "So what exactly are you? You're much more powerful than just a human and you don't appear to be a chakra user either

"My strength comes from years of dedicated training in Ki, not just from some curse in my blood if that's what you're getting at." Tsuru answered and stated.

"So you noticed huh." Rachel said. "But are you so sure of that? I was once convinced that my blood was pure, but then I saw what my pureblood was capable of."

"What do mean?" Tsuru asked.

"I watched as my twin sister was cursed and twisted into a greater fiend. Now I know the path I walk is very narrow." Rachael's tone gave off a feeling of sadness which can mean only one thing.

"Your here hunting your sister. You said that doku was the one that turned her into a greater fiend, how?"

"He let her down a path of evil convincing her that he wanted to help her control her powers and she succumbed to his manipulation." Rachel explained while remembering how she lost her sister.

"I'm sorry to hear that." Tsuru said.

"I feel more sorry for the fiends in general." Rachel said looking down at the disappearing corpse of a fiend. "They are pitiful beans, destined to live forever, slaves to their Primal instincts. And there's only one way to release them from this eternal hell."

"To kill them." Tsuru finished she also looked at the fiend corpse. Oni are creatures from the Dark World or netherrealm oh, they were born creatures of Darkness. But fiends are humans who succumb to the influence of Oni and demons becoming demons themselves with only a lucky few being able to retain their sense of self but are still under the influence of Darkness. Some call them darkstalkers or some other things but there's always a chance they could evolve into greater fiends giving in further to their demonic nature. "Is this why?"

Rachel only nodded. "That's why I became a hunter, to tell my sister. To kill Alma."

"What a horrible burden she must have been carrying." Tsuru said in her head until she noticed something behind Rachel. "Behind you!"

Rachel had just enough time to look behind her to see a tentacle coming at her which she managed to jump off the wall just as a tentacle crawling fiend burst through the wall. It had red skin with multiple huge eyeballs and on top it had a monstrous mouth similar to a Venus flytrap. Rachel managed to land on her feet next to Tsuru who ready herself for a difficult fight unleashing her arm blades again. "Ok, this one is definitely new to me!" Rachel said reading her Warhammer.

"Tentacles. Why did have to be tentacles?!" Tsuru said not liking this type of fiend.

"Any idea how we should handle this thing?" Rachel asked.

"Stab it in every eye and cut off all its arms!" Tsuru said as they attacked the fiend.

Rachel used her Warhammer to block the tentacles that came at Tsuru as Tsuru got in close to stab the tentacle creature in one of its eyes. This caused the creature to streak in pain as they try to grab the young Ninja but Tsuru jumped out of the way and use that opportunity to cut off tentacle trying to grab her. They continue this process until the creature only had one eye left. Tsuru was about to strike at the last one until she heard screaming and turned around it to see that Rachel was caught by one of the tentacles and soon she was smacked away hard by one of the tentacles as well.

Although a bit dazed Tsuru got back up. She saw that the tentacle fiend was about to eat Rachel so she had to do something quick. She got on her hands and started spinning as her right leg began to Glow, after a few seconds of high-speed spinning she did a sudden stop releasing the energy that was stored in her leg unleashing a very large white light slash attack the cut the tentacle monster sideways in half. Being defeated the monster began to fade as Rachel fell on the ground. "Rachel are you ok!?" Tsuru asked running to her.

"I'm... I'm fine but." Rachel said looking at where the tentacle fiend once was. "I've never seen one like that before. It's strange? There are so many of them and it feels like they're getting stronger."

Tsuru instead of answering only turned around in order to greet Ayane who just appeared from above them. "Hello Ayane do you know anything about what's going on?"

"The worst case scenario has happened and the seal on the dark dragon blade has been broken. As we speak, its power is growing to the point that it's dark influence is not only attracting the fiends its increasing they're power as well." Ayane explained.

Tsuru did not like the sound of that. "Then will need a way to enter the palace."

"Tsuru!" Rachel said. "There is a rumor that there is a secret passageway to the Palace in the monastery. Also there are 3 greater fiends in the city one being doku, my sister, and one that guards the emperor himself."

"Thank you for the information." Tsuru said thinking Rachel before turning to Ayane. "Do you mind going to Ryu and Naruto and tell them what Rachel just said and to meet me at the monastery?"

"No problem, just make it there safely yourself." Ayane said before disappearing in a swirl purple petals.

With all that said and done Tsuru began to leave but not before feeling as if someone was watching her. "This must be the same feeling that Ryu has been having. Even though I can feel their presence I can't tell where they are? Whoever they are they're professionals."

On a balcony above where Tsuru was fighting Gamov and the mysterious cloaked figure were watching from above. "That girl is just as you said, a true Prodigy that one and that last attack of hers could have slewed a whole horde of fiends." Gamov said.

"She is a prodigy when it comes to KI control. She was able to focus a fully powered windblade to her foot and using the momentum from her spinning made it faster and increase its cutting force. She came a long way for someone who is just an ordinary girl from a small village." The cloaked person said.

"What is the story with that girl? How did she become a ninja?" Gamov asked.

"Nothing to interesting. She was just a farmer's daughter who's village was once attacked by a very strong Bandit Gang until the Hayabusa ninjas came in and saved it and as gratitude it became one of the many small villages under the Hayabusa jurisdiction and tsuru feeling indebted wanted to become a part of them." The cloaked figure explained. "But enough about her it appears the dark dragon's influence grows in power with each battle."

"Of that there is no doubt, my Excellency. It's feeding off the violence of the area that it's in which calls for more demons which increases the violence and thus the cycle continues." Gamov.

"The blade grow stronger and faster than I expect it." The cloaked dark disciple said.

With Naruto and Ryu

With Naruto and Ryu, Ryu was leading Naruto to a blacksmith shop. After entering they were greeted by a small old man.

"Hello Muramasa." Ryu said as he went up to the counter.

"Hello Ryu it's been a year since I've seen you and this must be Naruto. So what brings you two here, you need me to sharpen your weapons?" The Old Man known as Muramasa said.

"Yes and also we need a quiet place to talk." Ryu said handing over his weapon while urging Naruto to do the same. After doing so they went over to a small table to sit down. "Muramasa is an ally of the Hayabusa Clan and his Workshop is Enchanted so no one should be able to listen in on our conversation so we should be able to relax here for a bit."

"Good to know, but why does he have a workshop here in Tiron?" Naruto asked.

"Its sorta similar to the restaurant that appears in certain areas on a certain day except Muramasa tends to keep his shop around for a bit longer. While we're doing that we can focus on our next move. But first, it's time to seal off Tiron from the rest of the world." Ryu said motioning towards the scroll on Naruto's back.

Naruto got up and took the scroll off his back and opened it to reveal a large line of unreadable writing with the center having a large Blue rune. "Okay everybody better brace themselves because this is the first time I've ever done a barrier using barrier Ninjutsu and a Bonded field merged into one scroll." Naruto soon changed his energy to chakra and put his hands on the scroll while focusing it while also adding some of the nine tails power to it and soon the scroll glowed and the ground started to shake.

From outside of the shop a large Dome was surrounding the city of Tiron with a second larger Dome surrounding it too which made the first dome disappear before fading as well making it appear as if nothing had changed.

Back inside the blacksmith shop Naruto took his hands off the scroll that lost its writing while taking a deep breath. "And there it is. A strong barrier Jutsu strong enough to keep the fiends from leaving the city and a bonded field to hide the barrier as well as block all communications coming in and out of Tiron. Although I'm sure with the amount of kurama's chakra I put in there people will still notice the huge power surge that I'm sure some talented sensory type users would have felt." Naruto said. The reason for this barrier is to prevent the evil influence of the dark dragon That was so many all these demons from leaving Tairon which would lead to other nations being infested with fiends. The 2nd barrier was to prevent anyone from the outside from noticing what was happening Inside the city. "Hey Brother Ryu, There is actually one thing I am worried about with this barrier thing. Even with The barrier working The Black Dragon blade Get stronger after every passing moment so sooner or later It's dark power will break through the barrier, by then there will be thousands of fiends ready to rampage out of the city."

"I know but this at least this prevents it from happening sooner." Ryu said as he and Naruto got a message from Ayane telling them what Tsuru found out and where to meet her at. "Well that's good. Tsuru's hunch to follow Rachel paid off. Muramasa, Are our weapons done?

"I've just finish them, Make sure the fight hard out there boys And also make sure to not overdo with." The Old Blacksmith said coming out to give them their weapons

After getting their weapons Ryu and Naruto left the blacksmith shop. As they were leaving Naruto noticed that it was almost morning.

The monastery, morning

Ryu and Naruto arrived at the monastery where they found Tsuru reading a book that seemed to be up the history of the land of Fang. She quickly noticed them and close the book. "So I see you two decided to put the barrier up. There's already commotion going around about it."

"That's to be expected, anyway have you found the secret passage?" Ryu asked.

"Yes. I interrogated one of the soldiers and they said it's under that Chapel at the center but there's also an elevator in the main office but it's offline." Tsuru said pointing towards the hidden underground Passage. "That's not at all he also told me that there are some rock ninjas down there as well."

This information caught Naruto's attention as he smiled a bit. "Well, and here I was wondering were there any Rock ninjas in Tiron at all. But why would they be Underground in the first place instead of up here?"

"We'll just have to ask them ourselves, but it's most likely they could be guarding the entrance to the Palace, so let's hurry down there." Ryu said as day walk towards the secret passage until Naruto Stanley stop. "Naruto? Is something the matter?"

"Yeah! We got company, I'm not sure who it is but it reeks of demonicness!" Naruto said warning his two companions.

Right at the moment as the sunlight shined through the colored glass a fiend enter through it shattering it. It was a humanoid fiend whose skin was pink and had bath like wings on it's head golden armor on some parts of its body, an amber colored orb on its forehead and stomach, and weird blue green tentacle like hair. From its appearance alone it was obvious to tell it was female which caught Tsuru's attention.

"Get ready you two. This is a greater fiend, don't hold back." Ryu warned as he unsheathed his dragon sword.

"Right!/Of course!" Naruto and Tsuru said taking out their respective weapons.

The pink fiend when on the attack flapping its back wings to hover above them and Unleashed pink energy which they quickly dodged. Naruto used his air rifle to fight from a distance while Ryu jumped-up to slash at her body as Tsuru decided to stay back for a bit and wait for her chance to strike.

The pink fiend decided to change it's tactics by using a form of telekinesis to lift a pillar and a mint at Naruto who quickly rolled by the way before continuing to fire. Although he was missing most of the shots he was giving Ryu opportunities to strike at her and then noticed the chandelier above her and aimed right at it. Once the chandelier fell on top of the fiend it fell on the ground and was now on one knee dazed. This gave Ryu the chance to get in close to to cut her multiple times with the dragon sword, however it soon recover and used its psychic powers with to lift Ryu up and throw him back and flew back up.

It flew up higher and started firing more pink blast at them and was now anticipating Naruto are bullets so it was hard for them to get to her. However unbenounced to her Tsuru was climbing up the walls and was now above her. Taking a deep breath she lunged at her back using her arm blades to stab into it making the fiend lash out to try and get her off. Tsuru kept her grip on the fiend as she focused her Ki. "Ninpo: Art of Inazuma!" The electrical charged ninpo Force the pink fiend back on the ground as Tsuru jumped of giving Ryu the chants to strike at her again with his sword before once again flying back up.

Now desperate the greater fiend blast wildly doing her best to keep eyes on all her opponents which caused debris to fall all over destroying the monastery. As Reckless as this was it was keeping Ryu and Tsuru away from her.

Naruto who was hiding among the pillars noticed the orb on her forehead and put all his focused into checking that area. Setting up his bo staff in a pool stick maner pulling it back while putting a small green spell circle at the tip of the bo staff he finally fired a very small but powerful are bullet that hit the pink bean right in the head causing it to fall on the ground hard. As it tried to get up it felt excruciating pain on his forehead and then in one big Howell Unleashed a powerful blast of energy from its head upward destroying the ceiling.

"Ryu, Tsuru!" Naruto called out as he made his way to them and quickly put a shield around them to protect them from the falling debris as the ceiling came down on them. After the smoke finally cleared Naruto release the barrier and they are they saw the pink themed now losing most of its head above the bat wings completely dazed. "Looks... Looks like that last shot took everything out of her." Naruto said as he let the barrier down before taking a moment to rest.

As they were contemplating on what to do next they saw Rachel above them looking down at the fiend that was still too injured to move before doing a grapple kick to its face sending it crashing near a corner and before walking towards it would her Warhammer ready to and it's life. As she looked down ready to strike the themed looked up at her causing her to hesitate as she looked it in the eyes. This gave at the chance to escape phasing through the ground still looking at Rachel. Once it fully got away got on her knees and hung her head down in shame. "I couldn't do it. I can't kill my own sister..." Rachel said surprising Naruto and Ryu except Tsuru who felt sympathy for Rachel.

"So that was Alma." Tsuru said before a loud siren could be heard grabbing all their attention.

Land of Fire, Leaf Village, hokages office, morning

Tsunade was doing her usual morning paperwork trying hard not to crave a drink especially since it's today of the chunin exams which her Apprentice Sakura Haruno will be entering this year along with Ino Yamanaka and Choji Akimichi the only two Ninjas of Team 10 that are still genin. Shizune came in with they're pet pig Tonton about to report something to her until Tsunade quickly stopped her and for a good reason to as they heard a knock on the door. The person was none other than Sakura who was slightly older. "Good morning Sakura is something the matter because the chunin exams are about to start soon so I'm going to be very busy today." Tsunade said.

"I'm sorry to disturb you this morning lady Tsunade especially on today of all days, but... have you heard anything from Naruto or maybe from the Hayabusa Village?" Sakura asked trying to hide the worry in her voice it took a while for the information of what happened in the UN Nations to reach the elemental Nations but three days ago she heard about what happened in Twilight City 5 days ago. She was horrified to hear about an earthquake had hit the city and quickly call Kim you to make sure she was okay and was relieved to hear she was fine and so was Naruto. She was too busy to go there right away considering she had a mission to do but when she was free yesterday she, Ino and choji went there and were horrified of what they saw that the city that they wants took a field trip to was nearly destroyed, they were even more shocked to hear that hayner was among the casualties. She saw Kim but she really wanted to see Naruto after all she knew how much he loved the city and how close of a friend hayner was to him and could only imagine the grief he must be feeling. Unfortunately he was on bed rest in the Hayabusa Village considering their house in Twilight city was being repaired and Sakura had no idea where the Hayabusa Village was so she couldn't see him. Kim seeing how sad she was assured her that he was fine and that as soon as he was feeling better I would call her so she should just focus on the chunin exam.

Although still sad she couldn't see her teammate she accepted that there wasn't much she could do there she and the others left the but not before giving their condolences to Olga and the others for what happened. It was probably the first time Sakura and Olga didn't get into an argument as Sakura who could see that despite how Olga usually acted she worked at genuinely saddened about what happened to her City and one of her friends.

"Sorry Sakura but I haven't heard anything from Naruto." Tsunade said she could see the disappointment in Sakura's expression. "Look I know you're worried about Naruto, everyone is but believe me I'm sure he's fine. if anything he would want you to focus on the chunin exams so just keep him in your prayers and I'm sure once the exams are over you'll be able to hear from him." Tsunade said trying to reassure her Apprentice that everything was alright.

"Ok lady Tsunade I understand I just wanted to be sure. well if you'll excuse me I have to meet up with Ino and choji at the Academy." Sakura said excusing herself.

Once she was sure that Sakura was gone so now they took a deep breath and sighed in relief. "Sorry about that shizune but I didn't want to take a chance that's Sakura a good overhear us. So do you have anything to report about what's happening between the Hayabusa Village and The Rock Village?"

"Its okay lady Tsunade I understand. As for my report the anbu we've dispatched to investigate have confirmed that the hidden Rock Village was responsible for the three-way attack on Twilight City, Animus City, and the Hayabusa Village. We also have confirmation is that the nation of Vigoor in the land of fangs was also involved." Shizune said giving the first half of her report. "Also we just got information that Joe-sama has been seen approaching the hidden Rock Village and we'll be there in less than 24 hours and we also got a report of a huge wave of chakra emanating from the land of fang which the sensory team suspect is Tairon."

"So they've already it began their counter-attack huh? It's to be expected after what that old fence sitter did." Tsunade after hearing what happened to Twilight City immediately tried to contact Joe to see what happened only to get a letter informing her about the three-way attack and the theft of the dark dragon blade. He informed her that they will handle this situation and try to remain neutral during this. As much as she didn't want to she understood why. The information housing gone viral yet but if the leaf Village got involved it could possibly spread to the other villages which could cause a crisis so the best she can do is send Ninja to observe the situation as it unfolds but that still doesn't ease her worries as she knows that by the end of this crisis there may end up being a war between the rock Village and the Hayabusa Village and there was little she could do to stop it if you wanted to. "I'm not sure of what that old fool was thinking when he decided to pull a stunt like this! But he might as well as signed his and the Rock Village's death warrant!" Tsunade voice in her head.

Land of Fang, Tairon

Back at the monastery Ryu, Naruto, Tsuru, and Rachel could hear the sounds of sirens and military people moving about stating that the situation is now on Code Orange and everyone with no authorization is to stay in their homes or risk being arrested or shot. while this was going on Naruto went over to the secret passageway and saw that the entrance was now blocked by Rubble as their fight with Alma destroyed the entrance to the underground. "Well that's just great, even when we managed to beat her she still managed to succeed and keeping us away from the palace. And to make matters worse we have to fight the army now."

"Well we all knew this wasn't going to be so simple, but like you always say expect the unexpected and find a way to deal with it." Ryu said before looking over at Rachel who still love disappointed in herself for not finishing off her sister turned fiend when she had the chance as Tsuru put a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You shouldn't be too hard on yourself, despite how she looks she was still your sister so there's always a chance you may hesitate when doing what needs to be done."

"Yeah... but now she'll have to suffer even longer as a greater fiend all because I couldn't resolved myself enough to kill her." Rachel replied.

"What should we do now Ryu?" Tsuru asked.

"Its not safe to be around here anymore especially now that it's morning. We need to go and find another way to the emperor." Ryu said as he and his two apprentices prepared to leave. "You she get out of here too Rachel, at this point I don't think anyone is safe." Ryu said as they left.

Now alone Rachel contemplated on what she should do now until she felt an ominous presence behind her.

"Hello Rachel."

"Doku!"

And finally done with chapter 5! I'm so sorry it took such a long time for this chapter to finally be released but work has been really tiring and I've been having writer's block a few times sometimes forgetting what I was going to write. I've even been working on the latest chapter for Green brother which has taken longer than I expected. I can't promise that the next chapter will come out soon but I will be working on them as steadily as I can so bear with me as you all have so far.
