Chapter 5: Consequences

(Thanks so much, once again, to my fabulous co-creator, Timewaster123456789!)

Yoruichi sighed and leaned against the cave wall, her narrowed eyes watching Soi fon stalk the cool environs like a caged animal. Tension rolled off her riled counterpart like an approaching thunderstorm and she occasionally cast a scathing glance at Orihime, who knelt with her milky thighs spread, still pleasuring herself...vigorously. Soi fon mostly just glared at the antics of the human girl, but occasionally let her gaze linger a little longer, admiring the lurid show, Orihime's innocent form giving in to its most base desires. She turned away, licking her lips, and Yoruichi gave her a tired smile. Soi fon just glared back.

Yoruichi rose from where she was watching Orihime and joined Soi fon, who patently refused to meet her beloved mentor's eye.

"Something wrong?"

"No."

"Reeeaallly?" She caressed Soi-fon's cheek and the girl mewled helplessly for a moment before pulling away.

"I'm going to need a new scabbard," she muttered, blushing scarlet.

Yoruichi rolled her eyes.

"Just enjoy the show, though if I were you, I'd like the scabbard even more."

"I only have eyes for Yoruichi-sama!" Soi fon snapped.

Yoruichi snorted.

"I'm not the jealous type, enjoy yourself."

"Ugh, it's creepy. She's not in her right mind."

Soi fon shivered,

Yoruichi shrugged.

"It's just watching."

Orihime's head tilted back, eyes closed and the smooth vulnerable skin of her neck asking to be nipped.

"Still...Yoruichi-sama!?" Soi fon's sharp voice cut through her thoughts.

"Yes darling?"

Soi fon blushed beet red and Yoruichi's already damp and hungry pussy twitched...

"Uh I just... shouldn't one of us be standing guard?" Soi fon asked finally.

It was a valid point, though she wasn't sure if any of them could properly maintain a watch under Kisuke's infernal drug. Now that was a thought, something to keep in mind if they ever needed to take more extreme measures against the Seireitei. Then again, Urahara had probably already thought of that.

Orihime groaned luridly in the background and Yoruichi turned, intrigued.

Soifon stomped her foot.

"You're worse than Urahara."

"Ah how dare you, " Yoruichi feigned offense, laughing.

Soi-fon huffed and Yoruichi frowned. Soi fon was taking this whole thing far more seriously than really seemed called for. She was already heading for the cave mouth, focused on her mission and if Yoruichi was to be privately honest: bitchiness.

Yoruichi returned to find Orihime curled on her side to sleep, a deeply sated smile on her lips.

Tetsuya crept out of Kisuke's laboratory, cloaked in a barely visible waterform and only hoping to reach the shopkeeper's bedroom without having to speak to anyone. A quiet person and shy in nature, he tended to avoid attention if he could. But he wanted to be left alone even more now, given his anxiety over his lover's current flightiness as well as the likelihood that crossing Byakuya's path, at the moment would prove even more distressing.

"Tetsuya."

Only a few steps short of Kisuke's room, he stopped in the hallway, meeting Byakuya's eyes hesitantly.

"I wish to speak to you before I return to Kuchiki Manor."

Tetsuya swallowed hard, relinquishing his waterform and nodding in acquiescence.

"Yes, Byakuya-sama."

His teeth gritted and each heartbeat seemed painful as he followed his cousin out into the gardens behind the candy shop. Byakuya led him to the side of a small koi pond with a pretty, splashing waterfall and the two stopped and knelt beneath a flowering plum tree to talk. The Kuchiki leader looked solemnly into the water, focusing on the colorful fish.

"I want to assure you that I am regretful for taking an action that put others' lives in danger, and yet, I do not regret confronting Urahara about his treatment of you, Tetsuya."

"Byakuya-sama, he has only been good to me," Tetsuya interjected.

"He has been good to you?" Byakuya repeated agnostically, "I do not see how you can possibly consider using you for sexual gratification when he has no intention…"

"It's not fair to blame Kisuke," Tetsuya insisted, "If he used me, then I used him too. We both have things in our past that color our lives even as we work to rebuild them and move on."

Byakuya put a hand over his mouth as though to hold back what he wanted to say, then he shook his head and sighed unhappily.

"It is…not my place to tell you who to love, watashi no itoko," he said, taking the younger man's hand in his and squeezing gently, "but I would caution you that Kisuke was badly burned by his experience with Aizen. While he knows in his head that you are not at all like that traitor, he is still experiencing pain from those old wounds and it makes it difficult for him to offer you his full affections. I worry that if you continue down this path, whether he means to or not, Urahara Kisuke will hurt you. I am just wanting to protect you."

Tetsuya gave him a little sad smile.

"I know that, Byakuya-sama, and I have thought deeply about it. I am afraid and I don't know what will happen. I only know that I love Kisuke and he at least wants to love me also. I am going to give him the chance to do that and we will see where it leads. I know the risk of doing this, but as you have told me many times, we can achieve nothing meaningful without risk. I have to do this. It's in my heart to love him, even if he chooses not to return that love."

Byakuya sighed and climbed to his feet, bringing his cousin up with him.

"Very well, then," he said somberly, "I will hope for the best for both of you, but…if he breaks your heart, I will do more than destroy his laboratory next time."

Tetsuya's blue eyes looked torn as he glanced back at the candy shop, barely missing seeing the shopkeeper who had stumbled upon them and concealed himself behind a large tree.

"I think if he ends up breaking my heart, he will break his own heart too," Tetsuya concluded, "He is trying very hard to love me honorably and respectfully."

"Tetsuya," Byakuya said firmly, taking hold of the younger man's forearms and looking down into his widened eyes, "you do not just deserve to be loved honorably and respectfully. You deserve to be loved passionately, and if Urahara cannot do that, then he has no business holding on to you."

"We love each other passionately," Tetsuya assured him.

Byakuya bit back any further comment and just nodded, then he released his cousin and stepped away. He turned his back and started back inside.

"Be careful," he warned Tetsuya, "Mind that you always know where you are with him…and…be very cautious to protect yourself against…unplanned consequences."

Tetsuya blushed at the words and forced a little nod as his cousin flash stepped away, then he turned to face the water, his blue eyes quietly watching the fish darting around beneath the rippling surface. A few moments later, he felt a warm hand touch his shoulder and he turned into Kisuke's arms, trembling softly at how tightly the shopkeeper held onto him.

"He's still really pissed at me, isn't he?" Kisuke asked, kissing Tetsuya warmly on the mouth.

"He's just being protective of me," Tetsuya said reassuringly.

"Yeah, maybe you should listen to him."

Tetsuya frowned and his expression set stubbornly.

"I did listen to his advice and I am being as cautious as I can be, but I am not going to quit simply because the way isn't easy. You don't have to explain things to me and you don't have to love me if it's not in your heart, but please trust me that you can grow past what happened to you. You can be happy again, whether it's with me or someone else…or no one. Aizen is a horrid man and he hurt you badly. The best revenge you can take on him is to grow past it."

"Yeah," Kisuke sighed, burying his face in Tetsuya's shoulder, "I know that. It's just…easier said than done, you know?"

"Yes," Tetsuya assured him, "I know. That's why I didn't leave with Byakuya-sama. I will stay and we can see this through together at whatever pace we can."

"There's…a lot going on right now," Kisuke said, shaking his head, "With the broken equipment and the ladies caught in the pocket dimension…"

"I know," Tetsuya answered, running his fingers through the blonde man's hair and kissing him tenderly, "Don't worry about it. Do what you need to do. I will be right here."

Kisuke lifted his head and looked down into Tetsuya's sad, but affectionate gaze.

"You know I don't deserve you."

"Of course you do," Tetsuya chided him, kissing him again, "but you'd better focus your attention on getting our friends back here safely. We'll work the rest out later."

Kisuke nodded.

"Right. So, I'll see you later for dinner?"

Tetsuya smiled and nodded.

"I will be there," he promised.

"I'm going to kill that bastard," Soi fon stated flatly.

Yoruichi sighed, "Look I know this is fucked up and..."

"Do. Not. Make. Excuses. For. Him," Soi fon grated, her voice a deadly hiss.

Then, she paused and gasped, covering her mouth as she realized she'd just given Yoruichi an order. Yoruichi decided that simply ignoring Soi fon's discomfort would work better than reassuring her and gave an indelicate laugh.

"Oh, I intend to beat him bloody, no mistake, just...you...he has good intentions. He isn't nearly so cold as he'd like people to think..."

It was Yoruichi's turn to gasp. Why had she said that? However much of an ass Urahara had been, some lines you just didn't cross with a friend at least if you wanted them to stay your friend.

Soi fon gave an ugly, sadistic smile and Yoruichi felt any residual arousal from the redhead's sensual show go cold.

"Really?" Soi fon asked, her voice silky and deadly as a knife hidden in a geisha's hair.

"Soi fon, please don't. I don't know why I said that. It was a confidence and..."

She trailed off seeing Soi fon's conflicted expression.

"I-I think it's an effect of the drug...in which case that makes exploiting it all the more fitting," Soi fon said but she looked hesitant and unsure of herself.

At that moment Orihime limped up beside Yoruichi blushing.

"I'm so sorry," she apologized, looking mortified as she remembered, "I-I don't know what came over me. I 'd never... I mean sometimes with Ichigo..."

Yoruichi moved to comfort the redhead.

"It's alright. You weren't in control of yourself at the time. You were just drugged. It happened to us too."

"Urahara drugged us. It's not your fault," Soi fon growled at the same time stepping between the redhead and Yoruichi.

Aw she was possessive, how cute. In fact Soi fon was so 'aggressive' that she didn't seem to notice the way Orihime's pupils dilated or how her hand drifted toward middle of her skirt.

Soi fon just glared at Yoruichi and she smiled back beatifically, a trick she'd picked up from the bastard in question.

"Is it just me or is it really hot in here?" Orihime asked, tugging adorably on her turtleneck sweater.

"Just you," Soifon muttered bitterly as Orihime pulled off the sweater to reveal a frilly, feminine cut shirt that hugged her body in all the right places.

Soi fon's eyes flashed as she looked at her perceived rival and Yoruichi laughed.

Two pairs of eyes, one round and innocent the other narrow and shrewd, locked on her, hurt.

"She's attracted to you not me."

Yoruichi laughed again. The situation seemed like high comedy.

Orihime squeaked, "I don't, erm, I'm not...I mean I like Ichigo."

Tears formed in Orihime's wide, distraught eyes.

Yoruichi hugged her, sighed and began explaining the situation. It was haaard to be professional when Orihime was unconsciously nuzzling her breasts and Soi fon glaring hot daggers that promised angry sex at the next rainfall. She ostentatiously kneaded Orihime's butt just to stoke that fire. Orihime yelped, but it was worth it to see Soi fon's smoldering gaze. Ah professional smeshional she was an exile after all.

Tetsuya laid naked in his absent lover's bed, his soft belly and lightly bruised thighs splashed with their mingled seed as his mind replayed the unscripted lovemaking that had taken place upon their return from the gardens. While the sex, itself, had been passionate and felt wonderful during, the more Tetsuya thought about it, the less sure of himself he became.

Maybe I shouldn't have let it happen, he scolded himself, After all, he clearly should have kept his focus on getting the ladies back safely. The more I think about it, the more I feel like Kisuke was trying hard to convince himself that he was getting past Aizen. He must know that it's not enough to bury himself in my body and try to tune the bad memories out. He will need to confront his fears. I only hope that when he does, it is still in his heart to love me.

Dampness formed in the corners of his eyes and tears leaked onto his face as he drifted off to sleep. But even his sleep was no respite, as it was filled with Byakuya's somber warnings and the shopkeeper's harsh, distancing word.

Tet, shut up.

I just can't do this right now.

We'll talk, just…later.

The words grew into a raging storm in his head, so that it ached and his ears rang when he did wake up, and sudden nausea sent him racing to the bathroom, where he dropped onto his knees, emptying his stomach violently.

He panted and ran his hands over his face as a sheen of sweat broke out and he felt a hard shiver at hearing Byakuya's final warning to him again.

Be careful. Mind that you always know where you are with him…and…be very cautious to protect yourself againstunplanned consequences.

Tetsuya's face paled and one shaky hand drifted down to touch his still aching abdomen.

It's just nerves, and that I have been so out of sorts. It has to be. We used protection. Kisuke knows I am a breeder male.

Though…no protection is foolproof, and Kisuke and I resonate strongly.

He swallowed hard and climbed to his feet, breathing slowly to make the feeling of sickness go away.

It's fine, he lied to himself as he showered slowly, carefully washing away the remnants of their semen from his flesh, and if it's not, I will just go back to Soul Society before he can sense it. If indeed, I am pregnant with his child, it may be more than he can handle. I will not force him into a corner.

I would rather die than to take his freedom away.

Yoruichi stalked through the woods and tried to remember that the sooner they got to the extraction point, the sooner they would be home. The better to laugh than cry mentality was one of the reasons she got along with Urahara, but she was struggling to find the joke in this one. She shivered even though it felt like she was burning alive with fever. Every muscle ached from exertion, and each step sent further waves of pain through her chafed, throbbing nether regions.

Judging by the way Soi fon limped and the thin sheen of sweat glistening on her back and neck in the sun, she wasn't doing any better. Shit, Yoruichi felt herself becoming aroused which just made the ache ten times worse. Soi fon glared at Orihime as they traipsed on, though Orihime didn't seem to notice, eyes lowered to the ground in mortification. Yeah, fun trip.

At last they reached the de-materialization point and...waited.

"Hurry up," Yoruichi muttered to herself.

"I hope he gets it right," Orihime said.

Yoruichi was surprised to hear anything but bubbly optimism from her and felt guilty for her own bad mood.

"I don't. It will just give me another excuse to kill him."

Soi fon wiped sweat from her forehead, shifting painfully from foot to foot.

Yoruichi winced. As angry as she was, she still didn't want Soi fon to actually hurt her friend.

Finally, after what seemed no less than an eternity, the world around them shimmered and with a moment of disorientation, they arrived in a room. She blinked away shimmering motes of light and saw that it was, in fact, the lab.

Soi fon immediately aimed a kick at Urahara and screamed, clutching herself as she fell to her knees with tears of pain in her eyes.

"Ahhh oops," Urahara said looking at her in sympathy. "Withdrawal is a risk if TS-9 is used more than three days in a row."

"With. Draw. Al?" Yoruichi growled.

"Yes, and it will last 2-3 times as long as the consecutive days used and will include fever and chills, extreme muscle soreness, though that's more a consequence of the exerti..."

Urahara coughed at Yoruichi's look.

"It may also involve genital pain."

He nodded at Soi fon

"and er...hypersensitivity that is to say..."

"We get it," Yoruichi cut in.

"Well to be fair...ow!"

Yoruichi snapped a fist into his nose, careful not to move her legs or hips at all. It lost the majority of its power but kept her from exacerbating the pain, which seemed unwise, considering that Soi fon was still lying on her side in a ball.

"I'll leave you ladies to readjust," Urahara said wiping blood from his nose and leaving before he could piss Yoruichi off further.

Soi fon stood shakily, holding herself.

"That bastard."

"He's not..."

"Have you ever seen him do anything but laugh at the destruction he causes?"

Soi-fon gingerly tried to massage the pain away. A particularly sharp twinge of pain reminded Yoruichi that getting aroused, more aroused would be a very bad idea and she looked away.

"No," she lied, knowing Urahara would face the attempted vengeance of a hundred enemies rather than have her tell his secret.

Yoruichi watched Soi-fon limp out of the room, the tactical gears clearly turning and sighed. She desperately wanted to invite her lover to have a romp with her but knew neither of them was in any condition to.

"Damn it."

This was going to come back to bite them both.
