All the Bros + Huddling for Warmth
"I can't believe I let you guys talk me into this," he muttered as he shoved his hands into his armpits, and hunched even further in on himself to preserve some warmth. He stood in the centre of the room, glaring at each of his brothers in turn.
"Relax, I've almost got the fire lit," Virgil said from where he was hunched over in front of the fireplace, desperately trying to get the logs to catch fire. However, so far there had only been smoke.
"Thunderbird 2 is literally right outside. Why can't we just stay in there? It's so much warmer," Alan complained. He was standing next to Virgil, rubbing his hands together as if he was warming them on the nonexistent fire.
"Where's the fun in that?" Gordon asked as he sat on the couch in the middle of the room, just across from the fireplace. Despite sounding to still be in high spirits, he had his arms wrapped around his legs and his knees close to his chest, obviously cold as well. "What's a vacation without some minor inconveniences, anyway? Besides, you all agreed to it."
"When I agreed to stay in a lodge in the middle of the Alps, I thought the heating would at least be working," Scott grumbled in annoyance. Regardless of Gordon's words, he was close to heading back into the warm belly of Thunderbird 2 like Alan suggested. He was starting to see his breath!
"I found blankets," John then announced as he appeared back in the room. He probably had about ten different blankets, all varying in size, bundled in his arms. He dropped them on Gordon's head over the back of the couch.
Alan scrambled onto the couch next to Gordon, and together they untangled the blankets until they were both bundled underneath them. Scott had to admit they looked cozy.
With a sigh, he kicked off his shoes and also made his way over to the couch.
"Move over," he nudged Alan along to make space, and he happily obliged. Scott buried himself under the blankets as well, tucking his legs up so that his feet were covered as well.
"Yes!" Virgil suddenly cheered, and Scott looked up to find that the flames had finally managed to catch. The fire grew as Virgil poked at it some more and added more logs, and it wasn't long before Scott started to feel the heat from it.
Despite the fire now being lit, Scott had no intention of moving from his spot and it seemed his brothers felt the same. Virgil and John noticed this and appeared to have the same thought, as they soon made their way onto the couch on the other side of Gordon.
Once all five of them were huddled under the blankets, none of them wanted to go anywhere. The only time one of them left their cocoon was to throw another log on the fire, but other than that, they stayed there all night.
Eventually, one by one they started to fall asleep, warm and comfortable and content. And that was where they found themselves the following morning.
