Chapter 5: When something starts happening

Nuriko showed up after 5 when the tea shop opened for later clients. She looked around the room before seeing where Iris was standing behind the counter. Nuriko sat in a bar stool in front of the counter infront of Iris and looked down at the countertop. Yuji had a look of confusion on why a kid just came without ordering. Iris just winked at him and grabbed a menu.

"Hi, friend!" Iris placed the menu infront of Nuriko's gaze. "What will you have? It's on me." Nuriko looked up. "I don't accept freebies. You said five questions. Ask first then I'll get something."

A business lady. I can get behind that. Hmm 5 questions but nothing personal…

"Kay! Question one !" Iris points to the autographs on the wall "Why are they famous?"

Nuriko looked up to see the two framed autographs. One of Present Mic with a message below "Keep on rocking!" and the other from All Might with no additional message. Then she looked at Iris was was leaning on the counter pointing to the autographs.

"Seriously?"

"Yup!" Iris just smiled and nodded then pulled out a small notebook from her waitress apron to prepare to write the answers.

"They're famous pro heroes. Present Mic is known for his loud voice and booming personality. He's also working as an announcer on the side and sometimes radio host. He works at U.A." Nuriko stared blankly as she continued "All Might is the pro hero ranked #1. He's known for his physical strength. Also, a teacher at U.A."

Why teach if heroes? I would be so exhausted with all those jobs…

Three Weeks Later

Nuriko became a common addition at the Tea Shop. Yuji was used to having her appear a few times a day for meals while I questioned her about random things of the world. During one of the questionings, of what events were popular, Iris heard of the Sports Festival coming up at U.A. This is when she started to get more curious on why it was so popular. As they say, when in Rome do like the Romans.

P.O.V switch

"OH YUJII!" I went towards my boss and leaned against the counter watching as he watched the teacups. "No Iris." How is he doing to say no before I even said anything?

"What if I have a profitable idea for you?" I started arranging the silverware so he'd be more incline to see I wasn't slacking.

"I'm listening."

"So…..I heard there's a sport festival coming up in a few weeks."

"Not a sports festival. THE SPORTS FESTIVAL!" I should learn now that my boss here is a fanboy of anything heroic. But I wasn't expecting to see a bug's eye to glint so brightly that I almost lost my train of thought.

"Yeah! That! And with any festival they need food and beverages!" I could tell he was starting to get interested since his hands stopped moving. Time for the kill. "Imagine! If we were one of the vendors for this event? I'm sure they'll accept some sponsorship, and we sell our items! And! All those heroes you can see in person!" Yuji glanced at the two autographs on his wall. I could see his will getting weaker.

"U.A. is a hard place to enter and do business in."

"But not impossible!"

"What is your plan then?" My plan? K I did not think that far ahead but sometimes you gotta wing it.

"I'll bring some free beverages to the teachers! They may appreciate it and see if we can get a meeting with the principal! So, step 1 get our foot in the door. Then we work our way up into negotiations."

"You'll deliver the beverages and some desserts to the teachers." Yuji turned and faced me head on. Excitement seeping into his voice. "Just say you know one of them to get in! One did save you after all! Then, make relations! We have to build a friendship so we can land this deal. The festival is in six weeks. What will we sell? Who will be there? Should we get merchandize?"

When I said Yuji was a fanboy. I wasn't expecting him to up it more. Suddenly, he took out a notebook. Every page has a picture of a hero that stopped by the Tea Shop with a list of what they ordered. "This is our holy grail! We will give them a sample of what they had previously! " He turned to a page of some lady in a unique outfit. I looked at the top of the page. Midnight? Glancing across the page I saw some hearts drawn on it and the words "She loved my ganache cake!"

"Um sure….one question…why am I the one who is pitching this idea to U.A?" Shouldn't this be something a manager or boss should do?

Yuji looked at me as if I had grown three heads. "I don't know if I could speak being around all those amazing heroes! And you don't get excited for anything…. well, besides cute stuff…" Judgmental much? Well, it can't hurt to check out this famous place that is out of reach of a lot of people. With my idea being planted, we spent a few days working on the menu and drinks for the teachers of U.A. in hopes to win some good will before pitching our plan.
