Hey guys.
Response to reviews:
Firstly, sorry for the errors in the last chapter, I had written it in a hurry and forgotten to correct it. But now, thanks to Paraloxia, who pointed out the errors, I was able to correct them.
Secondly, I have said this many times, but this is the last time I am going to say it, The Abyss: Prologue, is what its title suggest, a prologue, its only purpose was to progress the story, not to explain it. And a little something I have yet to tell you, is that I purposefully made the Prologue in such a way that it leaves questions in you guys minds. Well, this a series, and the questions that are asked in one part might be answered in another, unless those questions have significance to the plot of that one part.
Many questions that might have arisen in you minds are probably, how did Ainz break his limit?, how did he absorb infinity?, etc. they will he answered in this part or any sequal, because they don't have any particular significance to the actual story of The Abyss: Prologue, whose only purpose, like I said, was to tell Ainz's backstory.
And lastly, this is a story just for fun, I am grateful for so many follows and favourites, but, I never wrote this story for it to be liked by people, I didn't expect so many people to like it. I began writing this series because I thought it will be fun. So, even if people do not like it, I will still keep writing it.
What I want to say is that if you guys think that a character is not behaving how they normally would, comment on it and I will explain it why, and if it is by my mistake I will correct it, and the same goes for grammatical and spelling errors. Though don't too strict with grammer or spelling, please. But if you guys do not like something about the plot or where this story is going, or the decisions I take about this story, then you are free to not read this, do not bother commenting on that, I will ignore them. I am saying this because there is this one idiot wrote an entire chapter of a review full of insults, They also wrote three reviews in this chapter as well. I am not going to mention their name, but if you guys want to find out who they are, their comment is in The Abyss: Prologue and three comments in this story, both full of insults, I have a three sentence response,
"This is a fanfiction. This is my fanfiction. Don't like, don't read."
Frankly, you are just being childish at this point, and I only responded because I was annoyed at your childishness and toxicity. I am not going to waste my time responding to you again. What you are doing is border lining harrasment.
And finally, I would like to assure everyone who is worried that I might be discouraged in writing because of an idiot, I will not stop writing, so don't worry. And I would like to thank Mr. Zipper for his encouraging words. Though I wanted to respond in a PM, due to some issues I am unable to do so.
So, just to let you know the theme of every part of this series will be different, the theme of this one is dark comedy and adventure, with action and bloodshed. The theme of other sequals I am planning would be cosmological, parody, etc. Since my protagonist is basically invincible, I will not be writing a part about overcoming the odds, or something like that, my themes will be, parody, comedy, romance, adventure, with bloodshed and action, there might also be some mystery about other boundless entities.
The Abyss: A spider?
"For me, every universe is a new story waiting to be told, and every person is a new character to be narrated. And since there are infinite amount of both, there are just as much fun waiting out there."
-????
Chapter 4
The spider, her replacement was dead.
"Well." A very beautiful girl with black hair and purple eyes sighed, "She lasted a lot longer than I expected, atleast."
This girl was D, the very same goddess who reincarnated the class killed during an attack, for her own amusement.
'But now my source of entertainment is gone, so boring.' The rest of the reincarnated were boring as hell, and games didn't have as much entertainment anymore, it was just so annoying, and boring.
Her eyes were emotionless but her tone had a cheerful tint to it, a cheerful tint that could send terrify almost anyone.
'I thought she had so much potential in becoming my kin as well.'
Her disappointment aside, there was one thing that made her suspitious, when she was getting over at a kin candidate of hers being defeated due to sheer dumb luck, the magic spell she was using to observe the fight was interrupted and it would not connect no matter what she tried.
It was a shock to her, especially since the amount of individuals who might be able do something like this, they could be counted in one hand of hers, and that too, they might, it was unknown to her if they actually can.
'So who could have done this.'
Kumoko clenched her hand into a fist, streching, to get used to her humanoid form.
"Do you like this form?" Ainz's voice called out to her.
"Yes." She smiled, she can feel a lot of power flowing through her, and she could also sense the infinite primordial energy flowing through her.
"U-Umu." Ainz nodded not looking at her.
This caused her to grow worried, worried that she had done something to offend him, "Is something wrong Lord Ainz, did I offend you." Kumoko tilted her head to the side, causing her hair to fall to the side lightly, she looked like a white haired, red eyed version of Admin D, very beautiful.
"N-No" Ainz shook his head, not looking at her, "E-erm, its just that."
She leaned towards him to hear his answer.
"You are naked." He finished.
"Yes, but what about it." She had bee basically roaming naked as a spider, and now that she knew that she was not a human, she did not see anything wrong with it.
"Are you really alright with someone seeing you naked."
'"I was alway naked as a spider anyway, Lord Ainz." She replied with a smile.
"A-Ah." Ainz nodded, "Umu. But still, since we are about to go outside and encounter many people, you should wear something."
He created a white one piece dress, and a pair of shoes with [Create] and gave it to her, "Here, you can wear this."
"Ok." 'White clothes, does he like this colour or something.' She started to put them on anyway, she did not have any special preference for clothes.
He turned away again as she began to dress up.
When she finished dressing up, she bowed down and said, "Lord Ainz, I am done."
He turned towards her and nodded, "You look beautiful."
"Erm, um, thank you Lord Ainz." she staggred a little a first due to the sudden compliment, but managed to suppress it.
This did not go unnoticed by Ainz and he said, "Ah, it seems like I have embarrassed you, sorry about that."
"N-No." Kumoko shook her head, "I liked being complememted." 'Though a little warning would be fine.'
It was nice to hear being complemented, but now that she thinks of it, since her appearance was completely the same as that of D, indirectly Lord Ainz was complement her instead of Kumoko.
This thought annoyed her for some reason, probably because she did not like D using her as a scapegoat.
"Now then." Ainz coughed in his hand, "I assume you would like to have a name for yourself."
"I am alright with." she nodded, "If that's what you want."
"Very well." Ainz said, "Though I am not very good with names."
"Any name you give me, will be alright with me."
"Umu." Ainz nodded, "Very well, then how about... Shiro"
"Shiro. White." The now named Shiro muttered the meaning of her name in japanese. 'It suits me, but is not very creative.'
"Yes. It's not very creative, but I thought it suits you pretty good. I hope you like it."
"Yes." She gave him a bright smile, not showing the nervousness she felt inside, 'Did he read my mind or something.', "I like it."
Ainz nodded, "With that all done." He said causing her to perk up, "I will explain to you our next step."
"Yes." She nodded, fully attentive.
"Good." Ainz nodded, "Our next step from here would be to get more members for our group."
"Oh."'That was quick.'. "Do you have someone in mind."
"Yes, she is another reincarnator, one of the students, she has been reincarnated as an earth/light wyvern, I think of trained properly, she would make a good companion."
'So, its a girl.' "Do you know her true name."
"Umu." Ainz nodded again, "Her name is Shinohara Merei, you might remember as the one who always tried to bully D."
"Yes I do remember her." From D's memories, Merei always tried to pick a fight with her, alongside some other girls, well, though fight is a strong word, D mostly ignored them and probably thought of them as just minor annoyances.
Shiro had mixed feeling about her, on one hand, Merei annoys D, so they could get along well. While she had initially thought it was herself who was the target of bullying, after finding out who Wakaba Hiiro is, she did not feel much anger against Merei, just a little annoyance. But, on the other hand, she could be very annoying sometimes, with her supiriority complex and all.
'But I guess I will try to tolerate her. I don't have any other choice anyway.' It was her choice to join Ainz anyway. It was because she respected him, and it will be benefitial to her.
"Are you ready to move?" Ainz asked her.
"Eh, so soon." 'At least give me some time to prepare.' Shiro asked him surprised.
Ainz nodded and said, "Her egg will be found in one the kingdoms, it had been found by some knights and brought there, I think it will be best for us to retrieve it now and then I will train you in your powers while we wait for her to hatch."
Seeing the logic in his statement, she just nodded, 'But some time would still have been good.'
"Before we go." Ainz said, and then she felt surprised when his body morphed into mass of pure darkness before taking a human like shape.
The figure that Ainz had morphed into was a tall one, just a few inches below 6 feet, with black hair, black eyes and bone white skin, he was also wearing a business suit. Overall, he was handsome looking, but with his white skin and pupil less black eyes, gave him a scary appearance.
He then raised his hand and a black coloured void appeared in front of them.
'Like space magic.' Shiro thought, though it was much cooler in her openion, if a portal made through space magic appeared to be a tear in space time, this portal, it felt like a hole made in reality itself, leading to the endless Void itself.
"Lets go." She snapped out of her thoughts when Ainz called out to her, before nodding and following him in the portal.
'What the hell is going on?'
Were the thoughts of one Ainz Ooal Gown, as he and Shiro stepped out of the portal created by him through [Void Gate], a spell of 25th tier, one of the best teleportation spells in his arsenal.
First he somehow won the loyality of the white haired girl next to him. Next, she behaved weirdly, being comfortable walking around naked, among other things.
Then came her wanting him to name her, this all only led to one conclusion...
Shiro had been alone always, so maybe she wanted attention, but was not used to it. This made him feel bad for her. And so, he decide that he will be like a proper boss, erm, leader, and help her...by trying to be a father figure to her.
"Lord Ainz." He saw Shiro looking at him confused, "Is something wrong?"
"Its Nothing." Ainz said, before raising his had to pat her head, "Sorry for making you worry."
Shiro's face turned pure red, "Eeeeep, I-I m-mean, y-you have no-nothing to a-apologise for L-Lord Ainz."
'She is so cute.' Ainz thought, "Well then lets go get what we came here for."
He then removed his hand from her head, causing a disappointed look to come to her eyes, but after getting her blush under control, she said, "Yes."
Ainz nodded and then he examined the room around him, it was a typical room one would expect from a royal castle, expensive looking, with a large egg lying on the top of a silk cushion, which was situated on a bed.
"That egg..." He heard Shiro mutter, causing him to turn towards her and ask, "Are you familiar with it, or something."
She nodded slowly, "Yes, when I had recently hatched in the Labyrinth,I found an egg, and then..." She shook her head as if to shrug bad memories off and said, "Long story short, I think this is that egg, especially since it was taken from by what seemed like some knights."
"Hmm" Ainz hummed thinking, 'Could it be that they know about reincarnations. From D's memories, the elfs were pretty evil, and their leader was a big douchebag. And they also had various connections. But how would they know about the reincarnaters, even if they had a reincarnator among them, I doubt any of the reicarnations would have matured by now, aside from...'
In a flash, he realised how elfs might knew about reincarnators and saved that for a later discussions with Shiro, after they took the egg, and had trained her.
He pointed his hand at the egg and it dissapeared in a dark vortex.
"Eh." The girl next to him seemed surprised.
"Don't worry." Ainz assured her, "I sent it to ine of my pocket dimensions, I have the time accelerated there, so it will now hatch in a month, and it will also save is from having to carry an egg around with us."
The pocket dimension he sent it in was completely under his control, he could even turn it into a complete non-existance, just like an Abyss. This had one advantage, that since a non-existance did not have any laws, realities or time, the existing entity will be able to reach heights that would be impossible for them otherwise, this was how he had been able to surpass the games set limit, as he found out later. But as good as this advantage might sound, it also had a lot of major disadvantages, with completely nullified any advantage it might have.
The thing about a non-existing plane, existing objects can not be there, it they do managed to make it to a non-existance, they with completely freeze up, they will not be able to even experience anything with any time, reality or any other existing plane. Of course, this brought Ainz to the question, how was he able to function properly, he also existed before his ascension. When he tried to wish the answer to come to him, it failed. But he was able to conclude, that there is someone behind it, to be more exact someone who is immune to his powers and can give people the ability to exist in a non existing plane. The only answer to this was... it was the work of an entity without a limit, a boundless entity. But this conclusion only brought more questions to him. Why did they help him?, How are they able to manipulate the Abyss?, How...
He shook his head, realising that thinking too much will get him nowhere. Then he managed to hear Shiro say something.
"Ah." She nodded, "But if you could speed up the hatching, why not make it happen instantly."
Because making it happen slowly will give him time to teach Shiro how to use her powers, and it will also give him time to get used to having a companion after being a loner for so long.
"Well, it will give us time to train you on your powers without anyone interrupting."
"Yes, you are so wise my lord." Shiro said with a wide smile.
'Is she mocking me?'
He just sighed mentally and nodded, "With that done, now lets go and train."
"Yes, Lord Ainz." She said.
Ainz nodded and then opened a portal for both of them to cross.
Shiro stepped into it, followed by Ainz, who made sure to erase any trace of them being there.
Then stepped out of the portal in a forest, cause Ainz figured it would be the best place to set up a barrior to prevent anyone from detecting them.
"My lord." Shiro said immediately, causing Ainz to look at her.
"Bandits." She pointed at a certain spot outside of the forest, wher a carriage was being assaulted by what seemed like bantits, with a group of armed men trying to take them down, with no success at all, "What shoud we do?"
"Leave them be, its not our concern." Ainz waved it off, it was their problem and himself or Shiro had nothing to gain from helping them.
"Yes." She nodded, not sparing the place of attack a second glance.
Ainz was about to teleport them away form this place, but then a thought struck him, wasn't a carriage used only by royality or nobility in this world, then, if he earned the favour of one of them, it might be benefition for them.
So he said, "Shiro." The addressed girl perked up quickly, "It might be benefitial for us to help them, lets do it."
She nodded without hersitation, though with a little confused look on her face, "What would you like for me to do?"
"Try to use your the abysal energy I gave you, shape it into a weapon and attack the bandit, leave protection of the carriage to me."
"Yes." Shiro nodded again.
"Now, go."
The moment he said that Shiro quickly leaped towards the carriage and, then she quickly impressed him by instantly materialising a pitch black sword and cutting through the bandits with it.
'Immpressive.' Ainz thought, 'To think she is able to figure out how to use a power completely unknown to her this quickly.'Not falling behind Shiro, he rushed in to the battle, preparing some protection spells. Not they were needed anyway.
Shiro did not know how helping these humans will gain them anything, though she might have helped them if she were alone, but now that she was with Ainz, she did not want to trouble him, after all he was her leader.
So, as soon as he told her to, she jumped into the battle, while focusing at the extremely powerful energy inside of her trying to control it, and give it a shape of a sword, and it worked. Pretty good for her first try, if she were to say so herself.
Then before any of the humans could react, she cut right through the bandits, not even the guards protecting the carriage were able to react to her, and before any one knew it, she had cut down all of the bandits.
She then turned to see the baffled faces of the guard, and smirked mentally.
"Good job Shiro." Her master said, a magic circle that had formed on his hand faded away.
She nooded enthusiastically at his praise, feeling proud, "Thank you my lord."
"Umu." he nodded and the turned toward the guards who tensed up quickly, he raised his hands and said, "Please, there is no need to be tense, we mean no harm."
They all were still on guard, but became a little relaxed.
'Tch.' Shiro clicked her tongue in annoyance, 'Humans are so annoying, being hostile to us, despite the fact we saved them. I would have understood if we were not human, but it's just like they consider everyone there enemy.'
She still held some grudge against the humankind who burned her home two times already.
Then a young man with purple hair and eyes stepped forward and bowed slightly to them, "I would like to thank you both on the behalf of all of us, for your help. We are very grateful."
"Its alright." Ainz said, "As a friend of mine once said, 'Saving someone in trouble is commonsense' Mr..."
"Merazophis."
"Mr Merazophis, it's a pleasure to meet you, I am Ainz Ooal Gown, and this is Shiro." He extended his hand for a greeting.
"Likewise." Merazophis shook his hand while nodding.
'At least this one is polite.' Shiro thought, 'But 'saving someone in trouble is common sense', no offence Lord Ainz, but that is kind of cringe worthy.'
Then the door of a carriage opened up and awoken came out, carrying a baby, she had light coloured hair and red eyes.
"My Lady." Merazophis bowed to her.
'This is so cliche.' were the annoyed thoughts of a certain spider, before she was startled by a voice in her head, which caused her to almost jump, but she managed to control herself.
'Shiro.'
'Lord Ainz' She thought surprised
'Yes it's me, sorry I forgot to tell you about the mental connection we will have.' Ainz said, not letting any hint of their mental conversation show to the humans in front of them.
'Its alright.' She said, err, thought quickly, before thinking privately, 'But yeah it still would have been your fault, if I had jumped and embarrassed myself.'
'But- Ok, back to the point your see that baby girl.' Ainz wanted to say something, but decided against it, instead he pointed at the baby mentally.
She glance at the baby girl who was looking at them with a curious gaze, she was very cute and would probably grow into a beautiful women, 'Yes.'
'Well, she is a reincarnation.'
'What?' A reincarnation? Did Lord Ainz knew about this as well, did he truely have this much foresight?...Oooor maybe it was just dumb luck. Probably luck. Though she was jealous that this baby was guaranteed to have a good future from her birth, but Shiro also knew that she would have better future than the baby, with lord Ainz as her leader.
'Yes, I was surprised as well, but let's leave her alone for a while and observe her family.'
'Ok.'
He then cut their conversation and bowed to the lady, "Its a pleasure to meet you."
"The pleasure is all ours." She smiled at him, "Though Mera thanked you already, I wanted to personally Express my gratitude. Thank you, you saved our lives, we would have died if it was not for both of you."
"You don't need to thank us." Ainz replied, "Besides it was Shiro who did all the work, it's better to thank her rather than me."
The addressed girl staggered a little, 'Whyyyy, Why lord Ainz, it's so mean to turn the attention to me, what am I supposed to doooo'
Unaware of her internal conflict, the lady turned to her and bowed her head, "Thank you Miss. For saving us and our daughter."
'Nai wa, how am I supposed to respond to this.' Shiro thought in a mental panic, she sort of expected this, but why can't she get more time, but on outside she just calmly nodded.
The lady just smiled and said, "Oh, where are my manners, I am Seras Karen-"
She then pointed at the man who was stepping out of the carriage, "-This is my husband, John Karen, and-" She looked at the bundle in her arms and said, "-this is our daughter, Sophia."
"Its nice to meet both of you." The man named John smiled at them and nodded, "Thank you again, for saving us."
Ainz nodded with a smile of his own.
"As my wife already said, I am John Karen, I am also the lord of the Karen city in the north east of Sariella." John said.
Ainz nodded again, and introduced himself again as a courtesy, "I am Ainz Ooal Gown, a travelling magic caster, and this is my companion, Shiro."
'Please stop addressing me Lord Ainz.' Shiro felt worried she might get dragged back into the conversation.
"Lord Ainz-"
"Just Ainz is fine."
"Then is Ainz-dono, alright."
Ainz nodded.
John Karen continued, "Then Ainz-dono, I would like for you guys to have reward for saving us, and-"
He was interrupted, again, "We are just travelers, and we did not do this for reward, we were just passing by, so there is no need."
The Lord of Karen city looked like he wanted to protest but then he gave up and just said, "If that's what you want."
Then what followed just seemed like formality conversation to her, so she ignored it and then both John and Seras stepped in to the carriage and left with their guards, much to Shiro's relief.
"Well." Lord Ainz turned to her, as soon the carriage was out of sight, "Let's now start your training-"
Much to her confusion he turned his head towards the forest and sighed, before saying, "Its seems like there is more trouble, Let's go and deal with it. This is another good opportunity to test your power in battle, even though we have yet to train in practice." He muttered the part.
Shiro just nodded, 'Let's hope I don't have to talk more.'
To be continued...
Some quotes that are written at the beginning of each chapter will not have a name rewritten with them, I would like for you guy to guess who the character is, but be assured, it will be a character who had already appeared in previous chapters or parts, or a character who you guys should know already. Of course, these quotes will be said by the said character in this series.
In the original series, Filmos was stated to be the same age as other reincarnators, but here I made it so she reincarnated before them.
I don't like Ainz having a human form either, so it will only be for some time.
And nope, Shiro is not in love with Ainz yet, it will take some time.
Edit: I re-read it and thought that Shiro is too OC, so I changed it a little, and I also changed her name to Shiro. Finally, she is still OC in this chapter, this is because of her relationship with Ainz, due to his backstory in YGGDRASIL matching hers a little.
Edit 2: Re-edited it to make Shiro seem even less OC.
Edit 3: Done, added more thought to Shiro, to make more clear what she is thinking.
