The rumors Hyousuke heard turned put to be somewhat right, a few months later, Fuji's mom came back home as the new head of the intelligence department, she'll have to in charge of creating the war plans but now she'll be able to stay within the village to be with her girls, she'll also have to to keep up the protection seals of the village.
...
"Fuji" calmly said the scary lady holding a frying pan
"Yeah?" Fuji whose 2, close to 3, covered head to toe in ink trying her best to hide behind her tiny stained hands, answered back
"Didya get into the calligraphy ink?" The woman said while pointing the pan at the ink stains that are dripping on the floor from Fuji's hair
"y'know you aren't allowed to get into that" the woman sighed and continued "come on let's go wash up before Kushina gets home huh?
Fuji gasped and ran as fast as her little legs could take her, which well was pretty fast.
'I guess I could start dinner a little late' Hotoru thought while putting the pan back in the drawer for later use.
"Ma!!" Fuji yelled to Hotoru, rushing her to start the bath
"Coming Fuji!" She gave a small laugh while hurriedly making her way.
...
"Daddy! Daddy's coming home!" Fuji excitedly told Hotoru while she was trying to put on her clothes.
"Hm? Whadya mean fu? Daddy's not-" Hotoru's sentence was cut off when she felt a familiar chakra near the border of Uzushiogakure.
"Fu?" Hotoru said to Fuji who was still struggling with her shirt.
"Yes, ma?" Fuji asked distractedly
"How'd ya know daddy was coming? Can ya feel him? Is the seal not working? Let me check" Hotoru's head was spinning and was currently going through many emotions while asking her daughter these questions.
"Yeah, I think it's working, and I know he's coming because daddy feels like the ocean! Really huge, and like when a blast of wind hits your face, y'know? So it was either dad or just someone who feels exactly like him"
"Hm, can you tell me what I feel like?" Hotoru asked while probing the seal
"Yeah, you feel kinda weird, fuzzy, like when there's a storm outside or when the door shocks me when I rub my socks against the floor"
The mom gave a small laugh, finding nothing wrong with the seal she helped Fuji pull her shirt over her head making Fuji smile brightly up at her.
"Ya, I do feel weird don't I?" Hotoru acknowledged
Fuji nodded her head, agreeing
"Have we ever explained to you what is you're feeling? Do you wanna know why we feel the way we do?
"No I don't think you did, but yes please," fuji said to her ma while putting her hands up so that Hotoru could carry her, as she hasn't been carried since, well she can't remember the last time she was carried by her mom if she was being honest, but she's seen other parents carrying their children so she wanted to try it out for herself now that she has the chance.
Reaching out to her daughter and pulling her up, Hotoru spoke "well what your feeling is called chakra, y'know that part right?"
"Yeah"
"Alright, well everyone has different types of chakra which are unique to them, families or clans all have a similar feel to them but every person's chakra is still different understand?"
"Yeah, I understand that part ma"
"Okay, well each person also has elements that go with their chakra, I'm lightning and your dad's a water and wind natured"
"Ohhh"
"Ya, so what your feeling is just that, it's our nature of chakra, it lets us do certain ninjutsu easier like the water dragon or lighting release, y'know cool stuff like that"
Fuji smiled and nodded her head
"We could also create our own Jutsu with it as well, some people even train to get a second or third element and some are just born with it, one thing you gotta understand Fu is that it's dangerous for kids your age to try their hand at using ninjutsu without supervision, as your chakra coils aren't yet developed enough, you'll have to wait till your about 3-4 alright? I don't care what Yasuda or any of your trainers say, you're gonna wait okay?"
"Alright, ma! Don't worry"
"Okay, okay, just making sure, y'know?"
Fuji giggled, nodded, and smiled a big smile
"Good job for listening! Your sister would have never stood still that long for me to explain things to her, she would have just run off the second I opened my mouth! I swear that girl" Hotoru said to Fuji while tickling her belly with her laughing, setting them both down on the couch in the living room.
"Oh yeah, before I forget to tell you, chakra is made of two things, physical, like your body, and spiritual, like what's inside, y'know?"
Fuji nodded her head, focusing on what her ma was saying.
"Chakra helps us with everything, it keeps us alive, it's in the trees, air, grass, animals, chakras in everything around you, we use it to better ourselves and to make things easier in our everyday life."
Fuji gave Hotoru a confused look "whatda mean ma? How does it make things easier?"
"Y'know how you're not exactly allowed to play with the calligraphy ink? Well there's a good reason for that ya see it contains chakra in it so we could make sealing paper, seals are what we Uzumaki's use every day and we could seal without the paper or ink but it's the very foundation of everything and sealing is what we're known for, we're the best at it y'know!" her ma finished with a proud smile making Fuji giggle while nodding her head, agreeing,
"Also, If you were to accidentally leak your chakra into the ink, then it'll explode creating a small bomb that'll blow up right in your face, which is why you can't use it yet unless you're being supervised"
As they got up from the couch and made their way to the kitchen, Fuji looked, really looked at the markings all around, wondering how she never noticed them before.
"See this Fuji? This is called fuinjutsu, the art of sealing, this one here makes the water hot, this one holds infinite water, this one here on the table is to keep the food warm no matter how long it's been there y'know? This one on the floor cleans up messes and keeps dust and dirt off the ground, this one on the wall is to keep our privacy, and on the windows too, our whole house has seals every inch an corner! They all do something, plus we even use fuinjutsu in our battles."
" You can feel chakra because you're a natural sensor, you already knew that though, but with your range where it's already at, at such a young age even with the seal placed on you, I wouldn't be surprised if you could feel the chakra that's in the air when you get older" Hotoroh gave a huff
Fuji was awed, seals were amazing! She's learned so much, she'll probably learn more later on, but who knew seals were this awesome?! She could make seals for her pranks!
"I wanna learn sealing! Teach me ma!"
her mom chuckled, "usually we don't teach Fuinjutsu to the kids until they're 10 since it takes so much concentration and Uzumaki kids aren't known for focusing and sitting still y'know? But you're a different story entirely Fu, you could probably sit still all day if you wanted to"
Fuji smiled and gave a nod
"Fu, you gotta listen and be patient for this okay? If I say you can't do something yet, then you can't do it ya hear? Good, now the first lesson of fuinjutsu is!" her ma said excitedly making Fuji even more ecstatic
"What, what is it ma?" Fuji's eyes shining in enthusiasm
"It's calligraphy!" Hotoru laughed at her daughter's face.
"Calligraphy? why calligraphy?"
"Well to do seals ya need perfect control over your handwriting, ya also need to know all the kanji, and to do that you need to practice your calligraphy skills okay?"
Fuji understood what her ma was saying, to master the art of sealing she has to be great in calligraphy.
"Okay! I'm ready!" Fuji said with determination.
"Oh? You're ready? Alright, you can start while I get started with dinner hm? I gave Hyousuke a day off, just don't make a mess with the ink, you already took a bath, we clear?"
"It was an accident! I tripped, fell, and hit my head on the desk knocking the bottle over and the ink jar fell on my head yknow!" Fuji said with a pouty face making her mother laugh.
"Alright, alright here, this is the kanji I want you to practice on, start from the top left, you already know how to write don't you?"
Fuji nodded
"Yea I thought so, I swear that grandma of yours starts you off on these typa things too early, anyways practice that, and if you get ink on your hand or if the ink bleeds into the paper too much your doing it wrong, got it? Good."
Fuji took the things that were given to her and sat at the table while her mother got all the food out for dinner, since dad's still kinda far away from home, he should be here around the time dinner should be done.
Fuji set the paper down with the jar of ink, placed the kanji set next to her paper so it's easier for her to see, grabbing the brush and barely dipping the tip into the ink she started with her first kanji on the top left corner of the paper in slow strokes.
...
"I'm home!" Kushina said while throwing her shoes off her feet making her way to the kitchen.
"Welcome home," Hotoru and Fuji said in unison.
"What is ya making ma? It smells so good!" Kushina asked while wiping the drool from her mouth
"Ramen!" Hotoru said while smiling
"I'm making ramen y'know? Fuji here is taking her first step in pursuing her fuinjutsu career! So we're celebrating with some ramen tonight"
"What! No way! I haven't even started and I'm 6! Fuji's only 2!"
"Kushina you turn 10 in 3 years, and you haven't shown any interest in fuinjutsu yet, last time I tried to show it to ya you threw a fit remember? Plus you can't sit still even if your life depended on it, we can try again though huh? How bout' it? Willin' to sit and practice your calligraphy skills til your arms feel like falling off?"
Hotoru finished with a sadistic smile making Kushina shudder and shake her head immediately.
"Hm I thought so, you just gotta be patient y'know? Your times not now, you gotta pace yourself so you could be the best you could be instead of rushin' things and messing up y'know? Lil fu here is more advanced than you or I was at her age which is why I'm letting her do what she does okay? If I hold her back it'll stunt her potential and I don't want that, now y'know most of your kanji right? Go on and help your lil sis out hm?"
Kushina gave a small smile and nodded her head, turned towards her baby sister, who's currently trying not to smudge the ink on the paper, and ran to sit next to her
"Hey Fuji, how's it goin so far hm? Is it hard?"
Fuji nodded her head, agreeing with what Kushina said, " uh-huh it's kinda harder than what grandma had me doing, I like it though, it's kinda fun, it's like I'm drawing, but it hurts my hand after a while and ma said I can't stop till I finish this line of kanji then I gotta put it all away before dinner and wash my hands."
"Whats grandma got you doin hm? I didn't know you were still trainin with her, are you still going to those princess classes?" Kushina asked while making a confused face
"Yeah, pretty much, she's got me playin shogi with her to help me think faster, it's pretty fun, I won against her 4 times already! We also play some history and memory games plus some other stuff, oh and she still has me doing lessons on manners because she said at least one of us Royal Uzumaki's has to have manners or else it'll be a disgrace to humanity"
"That boring stuff? I thought you were gonna say that you moved on to those dances that granny teaches for etiquette and grace"
"Nah, but I getta watch 'em yknow? Granny says that I have a super good memory and that I'm able to memorize everything I see, so she shows me, but I'm not allowed to try anything out myself y'know? Cause I'm too small"
"That's lame! That old hags just teasing you with all their cool moves! All she's doin is making you do boring stuff with her! Watch when daddy finds out! Ima make sure you that whenever he comes back he won't let grams make you do no boring stuff no more just cause she says so, ya hear?"
Fuji looked at Kushina horrified, their mother was trying her best to hold in her laughter but not quite doing a good job
"you can't say that word! And you can't call grams that yknow? She'll hear you!" Fuji said while panicking
"I don't care if that old hag can hear me! She's teasing with my precious lil sister like a! Like a! Like a?" Kushina trailed off not knowing the word that she was looking for.
"Like a dog my dear, I'm teasing your precious little sister like she's a dog"
An old lady answered Kushina while sipping her tea in the living room
"oh thanks," Kushina said, stopping her thoughts and continued her rant to her sister
"Yeah! A dog! That old hags just messing with you like your some dog looking for the thrown ba-" Kushina turned her head so fast that everyone in the room heard a crack.
"You! You slimy old hag, making my sister do boring stuff like she's some! Some!"
"Dog, dear, making your sister do boring things like a dog" another sip.
"Yeah! Stop making my little sister do stuff like she's some dog yknow? Before I tell daddy about it whenever he comes home!"
"Tell daddy what?" Enkai said while walking through the door, taking off his shoes
"Daddy!" Two little girls bulldozed their way to the man and threw themselves into his arms.
Enkai laughed and hugged them close, "now what's this I hear about telling daddy?"
Kushina made a face and pointed at the old lady, who's still enjoying her tea undisturbed.
"That old lady right there is messing with poor Fuji like she's some dog and is making her do boring work!"
Enkai sweat dropped and gave a small chuckle, "now, now yknow that's disrespectful to say"
Mai gave a smug smile to her eldest granddaughter, making Kushina stick her tongue out
"We both know your grandma is an ancient woman, calling her old is disrespectful to old people understand?"
"Yeah!" Kushina said laughing at her grandma's faux-shocked face, not that she could tell.
"Daddy, that's not nice to say! Mommy's books say to be nice to old people because we don't know how long they have left to live!" Fu said putting her little input in, giving an innocent face
Mai choked on her tea, wheezing at what her youngest granddaughter had said, while Enkai and Hotoru busted out in laughter.
Fuji turned towards her grandma with fear, "oh no! Look! Granny's dying and the last thing she's gonna hear is what you two are sayin' bout her! Hurry up an say sorry so she could die peacefully and not haunt us!" that shut her dad and sister right up.
Kushina and Enkai dropped to their knees, bowing down, and started asking forgiveness in hopes of the old lady not haunting them when she dies.
Mai still coughing, and with some help from her daughter-in-law, got up from her chair and smacked her son and grandkids on the head.
"Ow! What was that for?" all three said in perfect harmony
"For thinking I'm dead! Just for that, when I do die Ima haunt you three until your dead!"
The three made a horrified face, Fuji and Kushina both tearing up at the horrors of the future while Enkai sat in a dark cloud of despair, mushrooms blooming all around him.
"Alright! Alright, enough of this huh? Let's go eat dinner while it's still hot!" Hotoru said laughing while making her way to the kitchen.
"Alright! Dinner sounds good right about now" Enkai said, full of sunshine, without a hint of despair on him.
"Dinners always hot mama" little fu said while being carried to the kitchen in her father's arms, remembering what her mother told her earlier that day.
"Hush! Let's eat!"
Shrugging her shoulders Fuji got down from her dad's arms and sat in her seat eating her ma's delicious miso beef ramen.
