"Not a word." Andy said as he and Provenza climbed into his car. "I don't want to hear a word about it."

"What?" Provenza ask innocently. "How you won the bet but lied saying you didn't? Or how your risking your job by screwing the rat leader?"

"Don't call her that." Andy snapped.

"See right there tells me everything I need to know." Provenza pointed his finger at Andy. "Mark my word, you get involved with her and you'll be drinking before the end of the year."

"I will not." Andy shook his head. "Why do you think that?"

"Women like that aren't meant for men like us." Provenza explained.

"She was married to Jack Raydor." Andy pointed out.

"She IS married to Jack Raydor and look at him." He reminded him. "Jack couldn't keep up with her high expectations. What makes you think you can?"

"Jack was a gambling, womanizing, drunk." Andy grumbled. "He doesn't deserve a woman like Sharon Raydor."

"But you do?" Provenza asked. "How are you and Jack much different? You're both estrange from your children, both alcoholics, and both like the nights out with the ladies."

Provenza did have a point. He and Jack Raydor weren't that much different. How long would it be until Sharon saw the same similarities?

"I guess it's a good thing nothing is going on between the two of us." He went back to his original story.

"Yeah right." Provenza rolled his eyes

Andy felt something in the pit of his stomach that told him ending this was the right thing to do before either one of them got too attached.
