Age of Lions
Chapter 5
Creeped Out
A massive black hole that was tearing the fabric of space inside the warehouse sucking everything in it's path like a giant vacuum. The Creepslayerz held on tight from the spiraling vortex screaming in terror. But once the chaos had stopped the Eli looked to where Jim and the others were last seen and now had suddenly vanished into thin air. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! AH! EE-AH!" Steve however was still screaming to terrified to open his eyes and look. "Get off of me!" Talia pushed the blondie, scaredy cat, and shut him up. Talia rubbed and shook her head from all of the dizziness. She stood back on her feet and find her nowhere in sight. "Tally!" Eli ran up embracing her in a hug. "Thank heavens I thought that you were swallowed up by the portal too."
"Hey! What's all the commotion here?!" NotEnrique all wet and annoyed from having his glug bath interrupted. The green imp shook his entire body like a dog and spraying Steve and Eli now covered from the icky slime. Talia moved passed through the boys and before she was about to explain, several large trolls gathered around them.
"What're we supposed to do now?" said Bagdwella. "First, we're forced out of Heartstone Trollmarket, and now our Trollhunters have disappeared!"
"At least we still have the Silverlion and these two." Rot said pointing at the three teens.
Gut was about to object to Rot's simple mind, but then again he did have a point. The girl maybe the descendant of their enemy. But Talia's also the Silverlion's once great leader, Leo, last remaining blood-line. Since their new leader is not here and the Trollhunters are now MIA. Guess there is no argument against that. "Hmm. . .fair point." Gut said, before turning towards the silver-haired girl. "So, Talia? What shall we do now?"
Talia's eyes widen surprised as every troll was looking at her for answers. "Wait, y-you're asking me?" "Blinky's disappeared. And so has our Trollhunter. And you're all that's left." Bagdwella stepped forward with plead in her eyes, "Tally. We need a leader." The trolls murmured looking at her with desperation, imploring to their only source of hope. But Talia did not know what to do. Jim was the one with all the answers of how to handle things. How was or how can she help these trolls. "But. . ." she said to herself. "But I'm not a leader."
"Come on, Tally," Eli said to her. "You were once captain of a dodgeball team and never lost. There has to be something."
"This isn't anything like dodgeball, Eli!" Steve frustratingly yelled. "We're in a warehouse hiding creepers from the bad ones. Jim's gone! And it's all this stupid thing's fault!" He screamed as he kicked the lifeless Kairosect with his sneaker. Suddenly the artifact sparked up coming back to life. "What did you do?!" Eli freaked. "I don't know!" Steve frightfully squeeled. Talia, NotEnrique, the Creepslayerz, and the Trolls all stared in awe as the Kairosect spat out a new swirling shadow portal. It crackled with more of that peculiar green electricity, and the silhouttes of five figures- three small, two large-stepped out of the storming abyss. "It's them!" whooped Eli. "They're back!"
The portal then reduced into a black pinprick, and the Kairosect detonated into hundreds of tiny fragments. Once the shrapnel stopped flying, the Trolls rushed up to their returned heroes-only to find that five figures weren't Team Trollhunters at all. One of the new arrivals, a Troll coated with black-and-white fur, said, "What manner of trickery be this?"
"Kilfred?" said Bagdwella, recognizing the striped troll.
With an awed hush, everyone bowed before Kilfred and his four companion Trolls-everyone, that is, except for Steve, Eli, Talia, and NotEnrique. The elfin Changeling pointed at Kilfred and said, "Who invited the talking zebra?"
"Bite your tongue, Impure!" bellowed Bagdwella. "This is Kilfred, father of Rundle, father of Vendel. One of the wisest advisors Trollmarket has ever known. . . ." Talia was surprised being informed about this. When she got a good close look at the new troll she could see a slight resemblance of his face to that of Vendel's.
"Where are my son and young grandson?" asked Kilfred, still disoriented. "Surely they can divine the reason for our sudden appearance here. One moment, my four students and I are tending to the Heartstone at Glastonbury Tor. The next, we find ourselves in this strange place."
"I dunno how to break this to ya," began NotEnrique. "But Vendel just got eighty-sixed by that backstabbin' Krubera, Queen Usurna!"
"What heresy is this?" wailed Kilfred. "My own kin. . .felled by enemy hands?"
"And Rundle sadly passed before Deya delivered us to the New World," said Bagdwella.
As she and the other Trolls welcomed the shell-shocked Kilfred and his four compatriots. Okay, it's obviously the Kairosect's created a time traveling glitch. If these trolls are from the past, then Jim and the other's were sent back in time and probably stuck lost somewhere. Talia carefully took the device from the ground and examined any source of energy left in this thing. Gave it a little shake testing it. Nothing happened. The device was clearly out of juice.
"These are grave tidings, indeed," Kilfred said to the Trolls that gathered around him in rapt attention. "As I understand everything you've told me, Trolls have been evicted from their rightful place beneath the earth and left without a leader for the first instance in their long history."
Then Gorgus has sent you here in our hour of greatest need, oh wis Kilfred. You must advise us once more," said Bagdwella, offering him the staff Blinky inherited from Vendel.
Kilfred looked at the wooden stick, which had been decorated with Christmas lights, and said, "What's this piece of junk? Where's the ceremonial Heartstone Staff that's been in my family for generations?"
"We, uh, we traded it for a recipe," NotEnrique admitted.
"So be it," announced Kilfred, accepting the junk staff. "I shall lead you, and together, we shall restore Trollkind to its former glory!"
The assembled Trolls roared so loudly in approval, Talia, Steve, and Eli jumped. The sudden movement reminded Kilfred of their presence. He pointed his new staff at the three humans and said, "Now let's start by eating these three!"
"Wait! What!" Talia said unexpectedly. The Creepslayerz turned to each other and started screaming.
