Here's the next chapter of fury. Enjoy.
Yugi stared at the pharaoh as he slept. This was the perfect time. Kill him and leave. Middle of he night. Thing was the moment he left he would be wanted. Not that it mattered. Bakura never kept him in one spot for long. Though they had their hut they moved a lot to do jobs. Never enough gold to keep Bakura happy.
"Yugi?" Atem asked sleepily. "Why are you awake?"
Yugi looked away. "Can't sleep."
Atem sat up. "Ok want to talk about it?"
Yugi shook his head. He glanced at the room Atem had locked him in. He hated that room with a passion. But it was not the room itself that did it. It was Bakura's isolation training. Leaving him in a dark room for hours or days with Bakura being his only connection to the outside world. Thing is with the darkness came the voice. It never left him alone when he was in the dark.
"Yugi?" Atem asked.
"I'm going to bed." Yugi said before going to his own area. It was small but he kept the fabrics open over the window at night so he could have the moonlight in. Anything to keep light around him and the voice away. He laid on his cot and stared at the ceiling.
"We go through this everyday." Atem sighed exhausted. He was starting to lose his patience with Yugi.
Yugi stared away from him. He needed to get this over with. It had been a month and he was sure Bakura was growing impatient. If he did not do it soon Bakura would be back for him.
"Answer me!" Atem ordered.
Yugi clamped up tight. He knew this was going against his training. He was not gaining the pharaoh's trust. At this point though he did not care.
"Answer me now." Atem growled.
Yugi gulped but said nothing.
"Fine." Atem stood and grabbed his arm roughly. He dragged Yugi from where they sat to the room Yugi could not stand.
"No." Yugi struggled. "Don't."
"You can stay in here for a while." Atem said opening the door. He shoved Yugi in and shut the door. Yugi banged on it.
"Let me out!" Yugi yelled as he pounded on the door. "I hate it in here! Let me out!" he slid down the door. "Please." He whimpered to himself. He curled up on the floor.
'Remember when she used to hold you?' the voice came.
"Go away." Yugi muttered.
'She'd hold you and sing to you. Don't you remember that?' it asked. He sniffled. He did remember. She was soft and quiet. She had beautiful dark hair and always let him play with it. She was always so kind and gentle.
"Mama." Yugi whimpered. He sniffled as tears fell and a memory flooded his mind.
'Baby what are you doing?' his mother came to him. Her soft amethyst eyes smiling down at him.
'Mama no looking!' Yugi covered his picture in the sand.
'Oh? Why not?' she chuckled softly.
Yugi pouted cutely. 'It's a surprise!'
'Oh ok. Ok.' She laughed gently. She went back to the clothes she was making. Yugi continued making the picture as she sang to him.
'Mama look now!' Yugi smiled as he stood up. He was covered in dirt and sand but even with the dirt on his face he was absolutely beautiful to his mother.
She looked from her fabric to him to the picture. Smiling she chuckled. 'It's great baby. But it's time to get cleaned up for dinner.'
'But mama.' Yugi pouted.
'No buts my little one.' She picked him up and took him into their hut.
The memory changed to later that night.
'Yugi hide! Hide baby! Mama will find you when this is all over!' she yelled as she shoved him away. There was banging outside. Men yelling.
'Mama?' he whimpered. 'I'm scared.'
'Hide baby and I'll find you later ok.' She smiled sadly. 'Go on.'
He ran to the back room and hide under the cot. Stayed there while he listening to banging and yelling. His mama screaming. Tears fell down his face as he cried. 'Mama.' He whimpered. Soon everything went quiet. He waited for her to come but she did not. sniffling he slowly got out from under the cot and ran to the front.
Mama! Mama!" Yugi screamed as he ran through the empty hut. It was destroyed. Someone took all their stuff and threw it around. He ran to the front room and found his mother on the floor. "Mama!" he ran to her. "Mama."
He shook her. She would not wake up. She was cold and wet with something red. He cried, begging for her to wake up.
"She's dead." A dark voice said from above him.
Yugi looked up and saw a man with white hair. He sniffled. "Dead?"
"Yes. Come with me. I'll take care of you." The man held out his hand to Yugi. Yugi sniffled and took it. He glanced back at his mother before following the man out.
"I'm sorry mama." Yugi cried.
"Up." Atem's voice broke through. Yugi jumped back and wiped his eyes. He sniffled.
"W-what?" Yugi asked.
"Up. Now." Atem ordered.
Yugi gulped and stood. He watched Atem. What now? What torture was Atem going to put him through now? Couldn't everyone just leave him be? Kill him? What was the point of living when he did not have anyone?
"Let's go." He said before taking him out. Yugi reluctantly followed Atem into his chamber. Atem sat on his bed. "Now want to tell me why you were crying?"
Yugi remained silent. He could not talk about her. Not to Atem. The pharaoh would never understand. His mother was everything to him and he had let her down.
'Remember Yugi, always remain kind. Never do harm to another. That's what makes you become a true man.' She spoke.
'Yes Mama. I will never hurt anyone! I promise!' Yugi said.
"Yugi?" Atem snapped his fingers in front of his face.
Yugi stared down. "I failed my mother." He muttered.
"How so?" Atem asked. "Because you are slave?"
Yugi shook his head. "Before she was killed, I made her a promise." He gulped. "And I broke it."
"She was killed?" Atem's voice was soft and gentle.
Yugi felt tears fall as he nodded. "I was young."
"Do you know who it was?" Atem asked.
Yugi tensed up. He shook his head. Last thing he needed was the truth about Bakura coming out. Bakura would make his life so much worse.
"Yugi, I understand. I lost my mother at a young age." Atem admitted.
The smaller one looked at him. "You did?"
Atem nodded. "I was raised by my father. Who loved me dearly." He pulled Yugi close to him. "Just know she loves you and is watching over you. Even if you did not keep your promise.
Yugi woke that night to a hand going over his mouth. He had always been a light sleeper thanks to Bakura's training. However, there was one person who could always sneak up on him. Akefia.
"Keep your mouth shut and get up." Akefia ordered.
Yugi glared as he got up. He did not dare glance back at the Pharaoh as he followed Akefia into his own chambers. He shut the door. "What are you doing here?"
"Says the one snuggling his target." Akefia snarled. "So, you are his now huh? You his pet?"
"No!" Yugi growled.
"Seemed like it to me." Akefia said. He stepped closer and closer to Yugi making him back up till he was pinned in a corner. Yugi gulped. "Perhaps I should show you who truly owns your body." He rubbed his hand on Yugi's stomach.
Yugi's eyes instantly fell. "Yours and Bakura's."
"And if I choose to have someone use you?" Akefia asked.
Yugi stared down. "I let them."
"Good boy." He said before pulling Yugi's head back by his hair. "Now explain to me why you are cuddling with that man?"
"I-I'm trying to gain his trust. Bakura told me to gain it." Yugi whimpered.
"Oh? So that's all you were doing?" Akefia asked.
Yugi nodded as much as he could. "Yes sir."
Akefia smirked. "Well then he's asleep. Now do it."
Yugi's eyes widened slightly. "W-what?"
"Kill him." Akefia snarled. "Or did we choose the wrong one for this job?"
Yugi shook his head. "I can do it, sir."
"Then do it." Akefia smirked and shoved him forward. He pulled out large dagger and held it out to Yugi.
Yugi gulped before taking it. "Yes sir." He muttered quietly. He went out to where Atem was sleeping. Slowly to walked over to the bed and lifted the dagger.
Akefia crossed his arms as he watched. He smirked and nodded. "Do it." He stayed in the shadows.
Yugi closed his eyes tight before nodded. He started to lower the dagger towards Atem when he was tackled to the ground. He dropped the dagger as two guards held him down.
"My pharaoh are you ok?" Another ran in and shook him awake.
"What is the meaning of this?" Atem demanded as he shot up. He looked at the guard then down at Yugi.
"We heard someone in the palace. We came to check on you and found this slave holding a dagger about to stab you my king." The third guard said.
Yugi struggled and glanced at where Akefia was. The man was gone. His eyes widened. He left Yugi to deal with this on his own.
"Yugi. Is this true?" Atem growled.
Yugi looked at him then away.
"Take him to the dungeon." Atem ordered. "I'll deal with him later. Heighten the guard numbers around the palace."
"Yes my Pharaoh." They said.
The two guards holding Yugi picked him up and tied his wrists. They took him out of the room. Yugi willingly walked as he kept his head down.
Yugi stared at the stone floor with his wrists and ankles chained. He held his knees to himself as he felt tears fall. "Hopefully now I'll finally get to die." He muttered.
"Why?" Atem's voice came.
Yugi's head shot up and looked at him. He gulped. "I had no choice."
"There is always a choice." Atem growled.
"I didn't." Yugi looked down. "I never did and never will. If I had my way I'd have been dead years ago."
Atem studied him. "What happened to you?"
Yugi looked at him.
"What happened so bad that you just let your light die?" Atem asked.
Yugi shook his head. "You wouldn't understand."
"Tell me." Atem said.
Yugi looked away and remained silent.
"Then you will remain in here until you talk to me." Atem said before leaving.
Yugi stared down. He didn't want to do this anymore. He curled and cried himself to sleep.
"And here I truly believed you could do it." Akefia said.
Yugi groaned as he slowly woke up. He sat up and looked at him. "Akefia."
"We're leaving. For some reason my partner still wants you." Akefia said. He broke the chains off Yugi.
"P-please just leave me be. Please." Yugi whimpered as he squirmed back.
"Let's go." Akefia pulled him up. Yugi struggled to get away. Akefia growled and punched him in the temple. Yugi fell limp against him knocked out.
"Yugi wake up." Bakura said before throwing water on Yugi's face.
Yugi coughed as he woke up. He shook his head trying to get all the water off.
"You failed me Yugi." Bakura snarled at him.
"The guards heard a noise." Yugi muttered still trying to wake up.
"Are you blaming Akefia?" Bakura growled
Yugi shook his head quickly. "No sir. Never."
"Well since you clearly can't do that job you can be home for a while. I need to leave so Akefia will be here to watch you." Bakura said.
Yugi nodded. As long as he kept Akefia happy he would be ok. "Yes sir "
Bakura grabbed his face. "You fuck up again I will kill you." Bakura growled. "do I make myself clear. You are becoming more work than you're worth."
"Then why bring me back here?" Yugi asked.
"Because you are mine." Bakura growled.
Yugi looked down. "Only because you killed my mother."
"And you volunteered to come with me. You took my hand." Bakura smirked. "Perhaps because you knew I was your only chance at life."
"N-no." Yugi whimpered
"Oh no? Think about it. If I had left you there you would be dead by now." Bakura said.
"There are worse things than death." Yugi muttered.
"How about you experience some?" Bakura asked.
"I already have." Yugi snapped. Bakura responded by slapping him across the face.
"You need to learn respect and who is boss." He growled.
"I'll teach him." Akefia smirked. "You have something to do. I'll handle this my love."
Bakura nodded. "I know you will." He kissed him before leaving.
Yugi gulped as he looked at Akefia.
"He's nowhere to be seen my king. If I may…" the guard said. "It has been 3 months. I do not believe he survived the desert."
"I do not understand how he got out to begin with." Atem said more to himself.
"I have heard of sightings of Bakura's lover. Perhaps he had something to do with it." The guard said.
"Akefia!? But he has been gone for a full year!" Atem said. "I thought he was dead!"
"I don't believe so." He said to Atem.
Yugi laid on the bed he was chained to. His whole body hurt especially his rear. Akefia had used him more times than he could count. All he ever did was lie here and wait to be used over and over. If Akefia wasn't using him one of his men were. Sometimes multiple of them. He barely ate and almost never drank water. He was really hoping his body would just give out on him.
"How is my little toy?" Akefia asked walking in.
Yugi looked at him but didn't dare move. "How can I please you master?"
"See? Now was that so hard?" Akefia asked as he went over to him. "I have someone here to see you."
"Yes master. I will make them happy sir." Yugi said quietly.
"Good boy." Akefia said. "Sit up."
Yugi did as told. Akefia came over and gave him some water. Yugi gulped it down and thanked him. He sat still as Akefia checked his chains and clothes.
"I will be back with him." Akefia said after he made sure everything was good. He watched Yugi a moment before leaving.
Yugi stared down. This was his life now. All he was good for. He listened as the door opened again and looked up. His eyes widened slightly as he saw Odion Marik's brother standing there.
Not much of a chapter but I got a bit of writer's block with this one. Hope you guys enjoyed it.
