The Truth and End of Camp

Back with another chapter, a very important chapter. It brings lots of things to light and sets up the start of the next book. AKA sets up the main story plot. AKA The Sea of Monsters. Also shows more of Percy's powers. You guys might be able to guess his parent by this chapter.

I'll give you a hint. Your guess will be wrong or will it? I don't know. I can't read minds. Leave me a review of what your guess is!

Anyway, onto the chapter!

Three ladies were hovering around a floating ball the size of a globe showing a child laying in a bed.

"Someone is interfering with matters that aren't their own." An old lady croaked out with a harsh voice.

"I agree sister." Another hunched-over old lady said.

A third one chimed in, "Perseus was supposed to be the son of the sea god, not...this." She ended with a snarl.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Waking up Percy looked around and could feel the familiar bed he was laying on and the comforter wrapped around him. He quickly deduced that he was once more in the infirmary.

Percy then heard people talking near him and decided to listen in on their conversation by trying to keep up the pretence of being asleep. He easily recognized the voice of an Apollo kid that had helped heal him on multiple occasions Will Solace. Will was saying, "...and I analyzed the blood that caked his right hand. It was a pit scorpion Chiron. Their poison is lethal. Percy is lucky to be alive and I think the only reason he isn't dead is due to his regeneration ability."

Will's tone took a lower and more serious edge. "Chiron no normal demigod could have survived this. This is a miracle even for Percy."

This was news to him. Percy knew his powers were helpful. He figured that they would just get the poison out of his system but Luke had been correct. His body was not immune to poison. The power only sped up the regeneration process of his body but it seemed it slowed down the spread of poison as well.

This brought tons of new ideas to him. He hadn't tested out the limits of his regeneration that much. The most had been when he had lost his fingers. Cuts and wounds on his body were easy to fix but making an external body part reattach was a big hassle.

All these thoughts of his power made him want to put them to the test.

Hmm, this was something to ponder about later.

Percy heard Chiron agree with Will, but before he could hear anything else of the duo, he heard "Oi! Perry! I know you're not sleeping! Get up before I make you go back to sleep. Forever." The wine god's tone turned dangerous at the end causing Percy to quickly sit up, blanket flying off of him .

And instantly collapse back down onto the bed clutching his head.

He had never felt this much pain ever. Losing his fingers had hurt but this was way worse. Percy wanted to cry, scream, throw up, stab someone, stab himself and bite something all at the same time. Will noticing the pained expression splayed across the injured demigod's face immediately rushed to his side, giving him some ambrosia and some nectar in a cup. As soon as he started consuming the items Will used his magic and applied some healing to his head.

Percy felt relieved and blissful, he felt like he could die out of happiness now.

The pain was washed away leaving only a blissful feeling. He felt his eyes shifting between a plethora of colors before stopping on a color he knew to be green. A feeling of serenity spread throughout his whole body, the feeling not ceasing even when the son of Apollo removed his hands.

With a quiet voice, Chiron asked the big question. "Percy what happened?"

Percy looked at him, what had happened? A lot, almost too much to comprehend. While turning away from Chiron he says "Annabeth was right." Chiron and Will looked at him questioningly. "The quest is finally over."

Before they could respond, the ADHD part of his mind kicked in. "I'm starving, can you bring me some food? Some fries would be nice along with a milkshake." Chiron and Will just looked at him stupefied. Suddenly what he had asked for appeared on his lap in a cloud of purple smoke.

Yelling a quick thanks to Dionysus he dug in. While he was experimenting by dipping one of his fries into his milkshake Chiron asked again but in a fierce tone that actually made him stop. "Percy. What. Happened." Chiron's eyes were staring right at his own watching the change of colors.

Purple, green, yellow, brown, blue and finally red.

Looking down at the ground, he started, "Luke...he took me into the forest. I thought he just wanted somewhere quiet to talk, so I went with him." With a deep sigh he looked into Chiron's eyes. "Luke tried to get me to join the Titan army which is apparently forming. Meaning the Titans are rising."

Chiron's eyes turned wide with shock and disbelief. He didn't want to believe it his star student who was like a son to him had resorted to the Titans. Chiron nearly started yelling at Percy for lying

but looked and saw the conviction in the unclaimed demigods eyes. Slowly the trainer's eyes started watering as he looked down.

Dionysus suddenly was heard, yelling for Percy to describe everything that had transpired. He did as he was told.

Will then asked, "What of the poison?" He looked at him and said "When I refused Luke had somehow put a scorpion on me without me noticing. It stabbed me once, then I grabbed at it and it managed to stab me again. I squished it into a pile of goo though."

Chiron trotted away. With a shaky voice, he breathes out "I...need time. Time to process this."

As he left the demigods just stared at him with pity. It made sense why this had hit Chiron hard. He had seen Luke as a son, raising him from a very young age.

Will began to ask other questions like how long it took him to get to camp and the symptoms he had felt etc. Percy responded to as much as he could because it was hard to recall everything. The main thing he had felt that entire time was pain. So yeah. Understandable.

Just as Will was finishing up Grover and Annabeth burst into the room. "We heard you woke up Perce! How are you feeling?"

While at the same time Annabeth shouts "Where's Luke? What happened?" He looked at Annabeth with pity clear as day. He knew she looked up to Luke and had adored him maybe even having a crush on the guy.

Percy decided to first answer Grover's question. "I'm feeling great now G-man, all thanks to this guy." He said while patting Will's back making him blush before quickly excusing himself.

Annabeth couldn't wait any longer. "We understand your good now. What of Luke?!" She near-screamed at Percy. And when Annabeth screams you know it's bad. Especially because her already feather-light voice reaches a whole new set of octaves.

The scream itself had both him and Grover flinching. As she quieted he told the two of what had transpired. The scream she let out put her previous one to shame. It was especially hard to watch due to her crying a river and snot running out of her nose. It broke the two boys to see their friend like this, so they leaned forward and hugged her letting the tears flow onto them.

All this crying was having an effect on the two, because now their dams broke and they joined Annabeth. All three cried their hearts out that day within each other's arms.

The next day, Percy was still required to be on bed rest, Will said something about the poison still not being out of his system. Although he felt fine.

He looked up as he heard someone walk in and felt a pang of fear shoot through him. A moving mountain was in front of him, it was tall. He didn't even think he could even begin to measure it. Huge dark shoulders he swore were the size of garbage trucks. Big meaty arms that seemed like the size of his head and a glance at the giant's hand showed scars. A quick inspection showed well worked hands.

Then it talked.

"Hey your Perseus right? Perseus Jackson?"

Percy let out a growl. Mountain or not, no one could call him that. "Percy is fine."

The bulky man laughed, sounding like the roar of a truck. "Alright Percy, my name is Charles Beckendorf but just call me Beckendorf." With a wink he said "Only one person can call me Charles and you ain't my girlfriend last time I checked." With that he roared out in laughter again, scaring Percy to the core.

He then continued. "Sorry I've never properly introduced myself before. I'm usually at the forge inside of my cabin, making this or that." A look of delight crossed over the giant mountain man's face. Looking Percy straight in the eyes he said "I'm a child of Hephestus. I like making things, especially in a forge." He stared as Beckendorf's eyes gleamed as he talked.

Stopping his rambling, the giant asked Percy, "I hear you can summon your own weapon and that it can cut through celestial bronze! Can I...can I touch it?"

With a cough Percy said "Sure but that time I cut the armor I just imagined my blade was hot enough and it basically did the work for me." The blacksmith just grinned in response.

Summoning his swords took no effort, and quickly Beckendorf started rubbing his hands on it. "I've never seen a material like this. I can't even tell if its metal or not." A quick look at Percy showed that he didn't know what it was either. "Can I hold it?"

Percy grimaced this time. "Um yes and no. I have to be touching the blade at all times or…" To demonstrate what he was talking about, he threw his left blade at a wall. As soon as it made contact it disappeared leaving no trace it had ever been there. looking back at Beckendorf who looked shocked, Percy said "See?"

Beck just turned to look at him, "So you just have to be touching it right? Well can you hold like the top or something while I hold the hilt." Doing as requested, the mountain man wrapped his fingers around the pommel. Surprisingly the sword's handle grew to accommodate the size of Beckendorf's hand. Then said giant released a sound akin to that of him having just orgasimed. Percy felt very uncomfortable in this situation.

"Percy this is even better than I ever thought it could be, you have no clue how I feel right now." The unclaimed demigod thought to himself, 'I think I have some clue based on that moan you just let out.'

Beck then demanded "Turn it into one sword." Percy complied. The effect was another moan released even louder than the last scaring him. What in the Hades was going on with Beckendorf?

Releasing the pommel the dark-skinned man said "Man that was amazing. I'm going to go research what type of material those swords are made from." As he was turning away, he said to a shocked Percy "If you ever need anything just come to my cabin. I'll be glad to help out in any way." Then he ran off.

Percy just sat on his bed for a good five minutes before he whispered. "What the fuck just happend."

The following weeks had been full of misery for most of the camp. When everyone heard the news it broke their hearts. Luke had been a friend to everyone and to think he left the gods…

Some people had left camp that day. Chiron theorized they went to join the Titans.

Camp was coming to an end within the month and Chiron - being the understanding type - letting people do what they wanted as long as it was a camp activity. To get rid of the hole that was in his chest he spent nearly everyday inside the Arena. His friends all started to get worried for him, because a blank look now covered his face and his eyes were dull. The Stolls told Annabeth and Grover that Luke had been Percy's role model and one of his first friends.

The betrayal had hit him very hard. The twins said how his eyes only shined when he fought Clarisse and when he talked to Beck. Occasionally he would act like normal around Annabeth Grover and the twins but they all knew it was a front. He was hurting badly.

Clarisse and him had formed a bond of sorts over fighting. He still couldn't beat her even when he let his flaw control him but they both enjoyed their sparring matches either way.

As the days progressed, the twins along with the other two tried to cheer him up. They tried having him join them in pranks, practice archery, go swimming and had even tried pranking him.

Which resulted with Conner having a sword run through his leg.

Annabeth was now watching Percy. He seemed to be swinging and hacking with no apparent rhythm or reason, just standing there slashing because he had nothing better to do.

Sighing she walked up to the unclaimed demigod. "Percy." Said person just grunted in response not looking her way eliciting another sigh from Annabeth. "Percy camp ends in two weeks. What are you going to do?"

This made him freeze. What was he going to do? "C-can't I just stay here?" Annabeth nodded her head, making her blonde princess curls bounce. "Then that's what I'll do. What about you?"

Annabeth bit her lip in response. "Well, I decided I'll go back home and talk with my dad, I might even go back to mortal school, feel normal for a while you know? Then return in the summer."

That made him let out a hollow laugh. "You know as well as I do Annabeth that we can never 'live a normal life'." He emphasized this by making air-quotes with his hands. Turning around and looking into her eyes he said "We are the children of gods Annabeth."

Then with bitterness clear in his voice, said "Our lives will never be normal."

With that said he returned to his slashing. Annabeth a small frown on her face said "No need to be so cynical." He just looked at her in question. She rephrased her sentence. "No need to be negative. We can at least try to fit in." This just made him release another hollow laugh before turning away from her.

"Have you ever thought of going back to school?" his arm froze mid swing. No, the idea hadn't even crossed his mind, what if he did go back? He had never liked it everyone always seemed to hate him not to mention no one ever wanted to be his friend.

Laughing that hollow laugh again, a look of fury in his eyes, he said "And what? Play mortal? When I went before people naturally hated me. Making fun of my eyes, my hair and my skin. Especially when it turned white." He scowled hard. "Grover was the first person at school that treated me nice. Even the teachers despised me!" He roared out the last part, before destroying the dummy in front of him with a series of slashes which made it erupt into thousands of tiny pieces.

Annabeth just looked at him in pity. His head was down, bi-colored hair covering his eyes. Whispering, he said, "Annabeth. I wasn't particularly bad at any subject besides English, but people still hated me. I was kind, helped everyone, but still... " At the end, Percy let out a small sob before looking up at Annabeth. Tears ran down his face, eyes now blue.

With a small voice, he said "All I ever wanted to do was fit in." With that Annabeth rushed forward and wrapped her arms around Percy and he just let it all out weeping in her arms.

The following day Grover, Annabeth and Percy had a little get together at the dock. Grover said they all needed to spend more time together before summer ended. While eating a beef burger, he managed to say "So G-man. You gonna stay here in camp with me?"

Said satyr looked kind of guilty, "Well about that…'' He looked at the two of them now excited as he said "I got my searcher's license!" Annabeth cheered while Percy just looked confused.

Annabeth just looked at him and laughed, forgetting how he knew barely anything of the mythological world.. "Bi-boy a searchers licence is something satyrs can get to go and search for the god of the Wild Pan who has been missing for a long time now." Grover nodded his head so fast his beanie nearly flew off.

With a blush on his face he stuttered out "I-I'm not bi Annabeth!"

Said girl just laughed in response, with Grover lightly chuckling. "I called you that because of your hair and how your eyes can change color dumb ass." He blushed even harder.

"Different name please." Annabeth just stared before laughing, he scowled. "If you're going to give me a nickname at least give me a good one."

Grover just sat watching while eating his enchiladas, as Annabeth started throwing out random names she thought up, "Clueless boy. Funny Muffin. Percy-o. Percy-ster…"

He just shook his head for each one. "For someone so smart, you really aren't good at this."

While eating some potato chips he said "Watch this." He stared into her eyes with an intense look and Annabeth looked back with a look just as intense. Grover almost felt like he was intruding but just continued eating his enchiladas.

Grover loved his enchiladas.

All Annabeth heard was his mutterings. "Her eyes are grey, she's smart, calculative, loves architecture and being right huh…" He then said "Grey eyes? Smart girl? Eenie-meeny-Annie-mo? Like eenie-meeny-miney-mo…" Annabeth just shook her head each time and giggled at his last one.

"Those were even worse than mine Percy."

He laughed a little while rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah I have to admit mine sucked."

All three of them laughed when Grover said "You think?"

They promised each other they would come up with nicknames for each other and that they would be good. They sealed this with wrapping their pinkies together in the all powerful pinky promise.

Turning to Grover, he said "So what are you going to do Grover?"

The satyr's eyes widened. "Look for Pan of course! Wildlife continues to disappear so us satyr's need to find him right away." Somehow managing to look them both in the eyes, he said "I'm leaving tomorrow."

While gesturing around he continued, "This is actually why I suggested we had this lunch." Looking only at Percy, Grover said, "A-are you mad that I never told you before? That I won't be staying at camp?"

Percy smiled. "Of course not G-man. I want whatever you want. Whether that's enchiladas or finding your god."

By the end of this Grover had snot running down his nose and tears streaming down his face. "Thank you so much Perce!" He said before diving into both of the demigod's chest. Him and Annabeth just looked at each other before hugging the satyr back.

Grover leaned back into a sitting position while wiping the tears and snot from his face. Percy now had a very very noticeable wet spot on his white shirt. "So, what will you be doing, Perce? Just stay with the couple of demigods that are going to be here too?"

He just smiled at Annabeth, before responding.

"No, I think I'll be going to school too."

The day after their group get together Grover finished saying his goodbyes to them before leaving camp. Annabeth then turned to look at Percy as they walked back down the hill. Before Annabeth could say anything Percy said, "That big tree at the top of the hill. That was your friend Thalia was it not?" Annabeth just slowly nodded her head, a sad glint in her eyes.

"How did she become a tree?" Annabeth made a long sigh. The duo were walking nowhere in particular in camp, just happy to be in the others presence. After breaking down in Annabeth's arm's and the quest their bond had gotten much stronger. From acquaintance-friend to best friends.

Annabeth, after a couple of minutes, finally answered. "Well when Luke, Thalia and I had been nearing camp tons of monsters had been following. Thalia had been striking them with lightning and Luke protecting me with his sword but they were both heavily injured." Percy's eyes just widened at hearing this.

"See I had only been seven, they had both been protecting me the whole way to camp. Luke fought a path through what seemed like an endless amount of monsters ahead of us before we eventually lost sight of Thalia. Back then there weren't many demigods at camp so no one came to help us like some came for you. Anyway Luke managed to get both of us inside of camp itself before he turned around."

Annabeth had a far away look in her eyes, as she just stared ahead. "I remember it clearly, me asking him where he was going. His response made me so mad." Annabeth chuckled darkly. " 'To save Thalia.' Before I could tell him no he ran off."

A dry laugh left Annabeth's lips. "Me, oh I followed Luke thinking I could help too. As I reached the top of the hill-the very one we had just been on-I could see Luke and Thalia fighting their way out as a team. Monsters fell from Luke's sword while frozen in fear from Thalia's shield."

Looking at Percy, she answered his unasked question. "Thalia had this shield, you remember Medusa?" A quick nod from him was her answer. "Well imagine that on a shield. That was Thalia's shield, it had Medusa's face on it. The shield was terrifying to look at."

"Anyway I was so happy that they managed to cut through the monsters and were running toward me. I remember the smile that was on my face. I heard people coming from behind but had been most worried about the look on both of their faces."

Annabeth looked down, a tear leaving one of her eyes. "Luke jumped and managed to push us both out of the way. A cyclops had been behind me swinging his club. I remember Luke screaming when it's club hit his leg." She shivered as another tear left her other eye."

"Thalia began fighting the cyclops. She was too weak to do much. In the end her spear had stabbed into its heart, turning it into golden dust but...but.." Then she turned and hugged Percy as she bawled her eyes out. Between her cries she said "S-sh-she got mortally injured." Annabeth's crying got louder and heavier.

After a couple of minutes, she finally said "She was beyond anyone's healing. I remember the look on an Apollo campers face. The sadness, despair and pity as he shook his head no."

With a quiet voice, Annabeth said, "I remember so much of how Thalia looked at that moment. Eyes closed, face relaxed and body posture loose. Her favorite 'Death To Barbie' shirt had been all ripped up and pants ruined but she looked peaceful. Luke and I just cried."

Stopping Annabeth turned and looked at the big tree on of the hill. Her face was now stony, with hard eyes. "Then lightning struck her, many people screamed and I was pulled back. Thalia suddenly shot up legs becoming one with the ground, arms growing big as branches began sprouting from her body and within a matter of seconds, my best friend had become that very tree." Annabeth finished this off by pointing a shaky finger at the pine tree. Percy stared at Annabeth.

Annabeth turned and looked at him. "Anyway that was how she became that tree, any more questions?" The unclaimed demigod shook his head no.

This was all very surprising to him. If he hadn't known Annabeth had been there, Percy would've called her crazy. Who would have thought that demigods could turn into trees? It was too crazy a thought to even consider.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

They headed to the Big House, the blond haired girl had convinced the unclaimed demigod to talk to Chiron and the wine god about him attending school. The main reason was because Percy didn't actually have a home to go back too unlike Annabeth. He also didn't have any money either and he wasn't even old enough to rent an apartment of his own.

As they walked up the duo could see Chiron and Mr. D playing chess. The trainer turned to them with a kind smile on his face. "Ah, Annabeth and Percy. What can I do for you?"

Percy looked at Annabeth while she nodded. He took a deep breath, before quickly saying "I want to go to school but don't have a home and don't know how to go to school and no money to have a house and I don't know what to do."

Chiron blinked at him, eyes wide. Mr. D stepped in. "Boy, even I didn't understand a word you just said. Now repeat it slowly and make it legible." He visibly shrunk under the gaze of Dionysus.

Percy took another deep breath, while looking down he stated in a clear voice, "I want to go to school. I don't have a home to go to, though. I don't want to go back to my orphanage either." Annabeth's eyebrows shot up at this. She hadn't known he had previously lived in an orphanage. "I can't get an apartment or house on my own, cause I'm not old enough and I have no money."

He looked up and straight into Chiron's eyes. "I was hoping you could help me, Chiron." The old centaur just looked shocked, before Dionysus burst into laughter. "Oh the pettiness of mortals. Thinking they are actually important in their pathetic life." Percy felt like crying, this was a very serious topic to him.

While raising his voice higher in an attempt to imitate Percy's voice, he said " 'I don't want to go back to my orphanage.' " Then the Wine god burst into laughter once more. Percy and Annabeth just looked at him with an uneasy expression on their faces while Chiron just sighed.

"Percy my boy. I'm afraid I cannot help you in that regard." The demigod's faces immediately dropped. The god of Madness leaned across their chess board before quietly whispering to Chiron. It was now Chiron's turn to adopt the uneasy expression.

The two demigods strained their ears to the limit in an attempt to listen in on the conversation but it was to no avail. Even with his advanced hearing Percy could not pick out what they were saying.

Mr. D leaned back into his chair, a smile on his face. "Boy we have decided to help you after all." Percy smiled happily and high fived Annabeth. "We will not give you money though. We will give you something much better." Both of the demigods just looked confused, Dionysus leaned in half a foot from their faces before whispering, "Knowledge."

Suddenly they both dropped to the floor clutching their heads. Chiron looked like he was about to help them before Dionysus held out his arm. "They need to process it all. If you interfere they will only feel more pain."

As the two watched the duo writhe on the floor, a tear escaped Chiron's eye. He hated seeing his pupils in pain. After a long while the two slowly stopped jerking on the ground, before eventually removing their hands from their heads. Both of them sat up at the same time before staring at each other.

"Did you…"

"Yeah I think so." Annabeth answered his question.

Mr. D laughed before saying "Well done, people usually pass out from the pain and well, as you can both feel, you now have the ability to control the Mist!"

They both just stared at their hands in wonder. "If you're curious, you walk up to a mortal and give a command before snapping your fingers." Looking at Percy, Mr. D said, "Perry this is how we are helping you. Find an apartment close to wherever you are going to go to school."

Then Chiron piped up, looking at both him and Annabeth, a serious expression on his face. "This power is not to be abused under any circumstances, meaning don't go and make yourselves president of the United States. You may only use this as a last resort." His facial expression turned even darker. "Only when you truly need to use it then you may use it."

With that the centaur turned back to his game of chess while Dionysus flicked his hand in a shooing motion while leaning back into his chair. The demigods both turned around and walked back to camp.

After walking for a few minutes, Percy said "W-where do you go to school?"

Annabeth looked at him questioningly, before responding. "I'll be in California Percy with my dad most likely. I'll just go to one of those schools, why?"

His cheeks became faintly warm as he shyly let out, "Well since you're the one that convinced me to go to school I was thinking we could go together, you know? So I at least have one friend.''

Annabeth smiled at him, her cheeks showing a hint of pink. Bumping shoulders with him, she said, "Of course you blockhead, come with me to California and get an apartment there. We can go school together and maybe...I might even introduce you to my family…?" The last part was said in a small voice with her cheeks blazing red.

Percy turned and smiled at her. "Of course, I'd enjoy that very much miss Chase." Annabeth giggled as Percy swept his leg behind him motioning her forward. Annabeth only then realized they were in front of her cabin.

He stood up, a cheeky grin on his face. He rubbed the back of his neck and said, "Well I'm off to train. If you need me I'll be there!" With that Percy turned around and ran to the Arena.

Annabeth just smiled and walked into her cabin her cheeks dusted in a faint pink.

Percy was with Beckendorf inside of the Hephestus cabin. The talking mountain had asked Percy to come so they could attempt an 'experiment' on his swords.

He didn't know if he liked the sound of that.

As they walked toward the forge, Beck said, "So Percy since the last time I saw you I've been going crazy looking for what those swords are made out of." The bi-colored haired demigod had wondered about that for a while so he was actually interested in this topic.

"So what did you find?"

Beck scowled. "Absolutely nothing. I went into the deepest archives we have and nothing. I talked to dad about it even - yes, I managed to actually get an Iris message through to him - and even he was baffled." Turning to Percy he said, "Oh, dad also wants to look at your blades." Beck then turned and continued their walk toward the forge.

Percy had a confused look on his face. "Hey Backendorf?" The man just grunted in response. "Well what's an Iris Message?" The mountain man roared with thunderous laughter shaking Percy to his core once more.

After Beck explained it, Percy asked another question. "So you said Hephestus wants to see my blades too?" Beckendorf just nodded in response.

They had now finally reached the forge in the back of Cabin 9. "My dad also gave me a theory that he came up with." Turning and looking down at Percy, Beck said, "Are you sure you can only conjure your swords? Have you ever tried making them permanent?"

Percy felt like smacking himself in the face. Why hadn't he thought of that! "No I haven't actually seen any reason why I would have to, because I was the only one using them…So how would I do it?"

"Just try making them permanent? Like think they will stay there, I don't know. I don't have your powers."

With a shaking breath Percy concentrated and summoned his swords. Looking at Beck he said, "I'm going to try making them stay when they leave my hands. So like you said, make them permanent." He made one of his swords vanish. "I'm just going to try with one first." Beck just nodded, his face alight with excitement and anticipation.

Percy concentrated on his right dual sword. He looked into his memories, remembering how he had thought of the blades as one and they became one, how he imagined them hot and hot they became. How he had imagined a shield and one appeared. Staring at the sword hard he wanted the blade to be real, to be permanent and one word came to mind as he stared at it.

Create.

Suddenly he felt a strong pull on his gut that was slightly painful.

Percy remembered how some demigods told him about the gut feeling. When you call upon your godly powers you feel a strain in your gut. But when you use it too much or try something hard the gut feeling becomes painful.

He decided that what he was doing right now was considered hard because he'd never felt a strain this big on his gut ever.

The sword he was holding seemed to shine brighter, the white now glowing brightly. The mass increased as well and Percy let out a puff of air. It had become at least ten times its previous weight.

Beck looked at him. "Did you do it? Is it permanent?"

Percy just smiled and said, "See for yourself." With that, he handed the blade to Beck. The strain in his gut started receding.

The mountain man looked at the sword in wonder as he held it on his own while Percy was no longer touching the blade. Beck then smiled so wide it looked as though his face would split. With a wild glint in his eyes, he turned and looked at Percy. "We can now run so many tests on this! See what degree it will melt at, and how it can be shaped! Can I keep it for a little, Percy?"

The unclaimed demigod shrugged. "I'll just make my left sword permanent and practice with it. The weight is way different, so I need to get used to it. Also, " He stopped and looked at the sword Beck was holding." I think I can still make them disappear."

As soon as he said that the sword did indeed leave Beck's hand seemingly disappearing. The man just frowned like a kid who's candy was taken away. Percy laughed as he tried to make the sword once more.

This time he tried to make it somewhere else. He wondered if it would work? He hadn't ever tried this before and was excited about the prospect of it working.

Staring at a table near the forge, the same word popped into his mind.

Create.

The blade appeared just as bright as before and looking like it was begging to be used.

Beckendorf squealed and grabbed it, while rubbing his face on the flat of the blade. Percy -with a smile on his face- turned to walk out of the cabin when he stopped. Turning he said "Remember Beckendorf you have 7 days and then I will be taking it back then."

With that said, he strolled out of the cabin.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

He was walking in the forest, going nowhere in particular. He had just talked to Annabeth about the plan of going to California, tomorrow was the end of camp so the duo would be leaving then.

Currently he had walked all over camp, the Big House and even up to the top of the hill and rubbed Thalia's tree. He was trying to see and remember all the details of this camp, he was really going to miss it.

Percy sighed as he kicked a rock. Camp Half-Blood was the first place he felt he belonged. No one really hated him - besides maybe the Ares cabin - but they had settled that dispute and he enjoyed life here.

As he walked, he rubbed his hand on some trees causing some nymphs to come out giggling. He just politely said hello before walking off while reminiscing about the last three months.

From leaving with Grover, to fighting the fabled minotaur, he laughed at that he had been so clueless back then. Then capture the flag, the quest, the gazelle exploding - shiver - before fighting Ares and… He shuddered, remembering the feel of when he completely lost control.

He hated that feeling.

Then talking to the gods and to...the quest finishing when Luke betrayed him. Percy's face adopted a big frown. He was still upset about that. Then meeting Beck, that made him laugh loudly immediately changing his sour mood. Their first encounter had been so strange and had freaked him out but the unclaimed demigod now knew he strongly liked Beck. He was a good friend to have.

And now he would be going with Annabeth to school in California. He sighed again. School.

Looking around he realised he was at the same spot Luke had taken him to.

He stopped and admired the lake, before sitting down. So much has happened within such a short amount of time.

Percy grabbed a nearby rock and chucked it over the water watching as it skipped. He looked down at the crushed bottle in his hand, it took him down memory lane.

His eyes flashed red as his hand flashed forward and crushed the already crushed bottle even further. As he dropped it blood fell from his hand and his eyes had returned back to normal.

Blood had been paid.

He sighed again, this time more drawn out and louder. Then an idea hit him. The feeling in his gut when he had tried to conjure another item before the Ares kids had attacked him during capture the flag.

Suddenly he really wanted to try summoning that stone again.

He had been so close before. He had a feeling that it would be similar to how he had made his swords stay solid while out of his grip. Although it might be different. He hadn't ever tried summoning anything other than his sword and shield.

With a sense of excitement rushing through his being, Percy cupped his hands together in front of him. Closing his eyes he looked deep inside himself and felt the confidence that usually came when he held his swords.

He knew he could do this.

Concentrating hard, he imagined a stone no bigger than his fist. He pictured it with moss slightly covering one side and cracks across it. A pull in his gut made him even more excited the pull wasn't even painful, immediately after the pull he felt something in his hand. He slowly cracked his eyes open before standing up and crying out in joy.

The stone he had imagined was there, in his hands! He threw his hands up in joy,the rock flying from his grasp. He watched as it touched the ground.

The stone suddenly disappeared.

He felt like a scientist at this moment. It was just like when he first conjured his swords. Sitting back down with a serious edge, he cupped his hands together once more and concentrated on picturing the rock in his mind and then that same word came to him.

Create.

Looking at his hands the same stone slowly appeared. It came one part at a time and honestly it looked weird as it happened. He watched fascinated as the stone started forming from the bottom.

The bottom of the stone slowly came to be, before the next pieces seemed to not appear per say, but almost...construct? That was the closest word he could think of to describe it. It reminded him of his regeneration ability honestly.

A painful feeling came to his gut, but it didn't hurt as bad as making his sword had been. Within what felt like a couple of seconds, the stone had fully formed itself in front of his eyes. He immediately felt the difference. The weight was heavier than before, but it also felt more...solid.

Percy stood with a grin threatening to split his face before promptly dropping the stone and as it hit the ground he held his breath.

It didn't disappear.

This time he screamed in joy.

The next day, before Percy and Annabeth left, he visited the Hephestus cabin. He had only told Annabeth about his discovery and she had been very intrigued about it. What god could do that?

Not any that Annabeth or himself could think of.

He knocked on the door and was let in by a tall and imposing boy that looked around 16. "Beck is at the forge waiting for you." Percy thanked him and headed there. Walking proved slightly difficult as contraptions and trinkets of all sorts covered the floor.

He hadn't noticed before but the walls were lined with all sorts of weapons, shields and weird things like a huge bird cage. What the Tartarus was that for? Eventually he made it to the forge and found a scowling Beckendorf.

"Well what's the verdict? You find anything out."

The talking mountain scowl only deepend. "Next to nothing. I tried all I could to melt it but it just wouldn't melt! I figured out that it also resists the cold as well and heat seems to have no effect. Another thing is that it is indeed a metal."

While holding Percy's right dual sword, he looked at him. Beck just let out a long sigh, the scowl leaving his face. "Percy this is an incredible blade treat her well. You told me before how you imagined it hot and it became hot but it didn't work for me." Beck looked so sad. "I really wanted that to work."

Percy just let out a cheeky grin, before making his sword disappear. "Well it is my sword and as for taking care of her, you know I will Beck."

With that, Beck and him clasped hands. "When you come back I want to try again. I'll write down all I can think of to test those babies on."

Percy softly smiled. "Of course." With that the talking mountain returned to whatever he was working on while Percy left the cabin.

On the way to the top of the hill, he bumped into Clarisse. She didn't scowl at him immediately which gave him hope that she was warming up to him. "You leaving too, twinkle toes?"

He just laughed at the name. "Yeah I'm heading to California with Annabeth."

The two just stood there slightly awkwardly before Clarisse said "When you get back I think we should fight again. I want to fight you when you go all out." When Percy was about to object she said, "Oh please. I know that even when you get those crazy eyes you never actually go crazy, just kinda crazy." With a crazy glint in her own eyes, she ended with, "I want you to go completely crazy."

He responded while giving a smile. "I'd actually like that Clarisse. I haven't actually really let loose before. Well except for against Luke." The mood turned somber before they nodded heads and he ran off again.

Percy bumped into one more person. Make that two. "Percy your" "heading off?"

The twins annoying sentence-finishing made him groan. "Can't you guys just talk like normal people?"

The twins laughed and said at the same time "Nope!"

The unclaimed demigod just shook his bi-colored hair, a smile dancing on his face. "Anyway Annabeth and I are going to be leaving right now and Conner gives me back my wallet." Said demigod just pouted before doing as told. Percy had spent enough time with them to know they would try to steal his stuff.

The twins said their goodbyes, while 'as a going away gift' gave him a bag of drachmas. He was actually touched by this. As the sons of Hermes walked off, he put the drachmas in the bag pocket.

He finally made it to hill, Annabeth turning to look at him. He smiled when her princess curls bounced and their eyes locked, her stormy grey eyes with that glint that showed she was excited. As she gave him a big smile, his heart warmed.

Percy loved it when she was happy.

Then her face made a joking scowl. "C'mon, butthead, I've been standing here for 5 hours!" In reality it had only been a couple of minutes but Percy didn't need to know that.

With an overly formal voice and bowing his head he said "I apologise Madam Chase. I had been interrupted on my way here." Looking up, he finished "Can you ever forgive me?"

He gave a puppy-dog look that just made Annabeth laugh. "Of course." She said while grabbing his hand and pulling him forward. Annabeth then said, "Hurry up! Our flight leaves soon!"

With that, the camera froze on Annabeth pulling Percy by the hand with smiles splayed across both of their faces as they left Camp Half-Blood.

So what did you guys think? I hope that last part made sense. Let me know in a Review! Seriously. Next update will be next Friday, as scheduled.

I will continue thinking about the idea of doing crazy Percy. Like I have the ending and some other parts planned out but don't know 100% how some parts will happen. Thank you all for those that reviewed!

As for the next chapter that will be covering Annabeth and Percy's 9 month journey briefly outside of camp, along with them returning to camp.

Anyway, can you guys guess Percy's parent? You might be wrong you might be right. I don't know. I'm only going to officially reveal it in either the Titan's curse or The Last Olympian. Don't know for sure yet.

Thank you CalamityXx for being my Beta! Anyway Review!

Awesomes out.
