José, Scott, Gale, and Yang were walking around when they came across another Hunter Team.

"Hello." Scott said.

The largest of the Team nodded his head.

"Not very talkative." Yang noticed.

"We talk when Necessary, and with each other." The largest Team Member said. "We prefer to let our Reputation do the talking for us."

"We haven't heard of you." Gale said crossing his arms over his chest.

"I'm not surprised. We don't travel to the kingdom's much."

"Why not?" Scott asked.

"We..."

"We hate the kingdoms." A girl with a Scythe said. "They are completely useless."

"But aren't you guys Hunters?" Yang asked.

"No. We aren't."

"But you guys just said..."

"We have a reputation outside of the Kingdoms for being Hunters."

"I'm confused." Jose said. "You guys are Hunters, but you aren't Hunters, but you are Hunters. How does that work out?"

"We Hunt Grimm and other monsters." A small girl wearing a hoodie said.

"What other monsters are there out here?" Scott asked.

"Bandits, humans, etc."

"How are humans' monsters?"

The girl pulled her hoodie down and moved her hair out of the way to show a scar. "The monster who called himself my master did this to me to establish dominance..." Her voice became dark and cold. "...Now. Tell me. Why wouldn't you call him a monster?"

The four Hunters in training flinched away from her.

"I think she could give Jason a run for his money." Gale said.

"I don't know who this Jason is, but if he owns Faunus like slaves, I will kill him without mercy."

"No. No, no, no. Jason does not own Faunus. He is a Faunus and kills people on a semi regular basis."

"I think I like this, Jason."

"You'll have to fight Weiss for him." Yang said.

"WEISS SCHNEE!" The girl began breathing heavily. "He's with a Schnee!"

"Yes, but not an evil Schnee. Weiss is trying to change her company, so they don't manipulate and hurt the Faunus."

"You don't know anything. The Schnee's will do anything to oppress the Faunus."

"I'm pretty sure Jason wouldn't be with her if she was willing to do that."

"What? Who is this Jason?"

"He's the Alpha." Scott said.

"Bullshit! The Alpha doesn't exist. It's a myth."

"No. The Alpha is very real, and we are his friends."

"What's an Alpha?" The girl with the Scythe asked.

"It's supposedly the ultimate Faunus. The one being in the world that can protect the Faunus… You can see how well that worked out."

"Hey!" Yang yelled. "Jason didn't know he was the Alpha until last year, and he protects everyone."

"He's not a very good Alpha then."

Yang punched her right fist into her left hand and activated her guns.

The Hunter Team took out their weapon. The largest Team Member shifted his Buster Sword causing it to fold out into a massive Buster Shield.

"You must be arrogant if you think you can beat us with only one mecha-shifting weapon." Gale said.

"It's not arrogance if it's true." The guy with the Buster Shield said.

Yang punched out at the girl with the Scythe.

The girl with the scythe twirled out of the way spinning her Scythe like a blender.

Yang tried following the girl with the scythe but was shield bashed by the big guy with the shield.

Yang spun into the air and landed on a tree before pushing back at the guy with the shield.

A long blade came down on Yang's back cutting threw her Aura and sending her into the ground.

"YANG!" Scott shouted running towards her.

The guy with the shield, shield bashed Scott in the face, sending him backwards and tripping over the end of the Scythe.

Gale jumped up and sprayed the area with fire before changing it to ice.

A guy with A long sword and a rapier jumped up and smacked Gale down into the ground, hard.

José was doing the best he could, but the girl with the Odachi kept changing the length of her blade making it difficult to fight.

"Hel!" The guy with the shield said.

"Right." The girl with the scythe replied before she let out a wail that knocked Team SHAY out.

"Good job guys." The guy with the shield said. "Let's take them back to the town and leave them at the inn."

"Can't I..." The girl with the Odachi asked before the guy with the shield stopped her.

"No Pardus."

"Why not?" Pardus whined. "Come on Kal, you never let me have any fun. Let me kill them. They are no good filthy humans."

"What does that make us?" A guy wearing a suit with twin swords on his back asked.

"You guys are different Ebon."

Loki woke up and stretched. She looked over to the nightstand and saw Coral's note. She read it and bolted outside.

When she got outside, she saw Team SHAY lying in the center of town passed out.

"What happened?" She asked horrified.

She looked over and saw another Team walking away.

"Hey!" She yelled.

They turned around to look at her.

"Did you guys do this?"

"Yeah." A woman with an Odachi over her shoulder said. "What of it?"

Loki glowed black as her semblance activated.

San Kal

San walked into his house after school. 'Stupid teacher.' He thought. 'I always get in trouble for helping people. The kid I beat up was bullying kids at school, and I get in trouble for stopping him! Such an idiot.'

"San." His mother said. "I got a call from your teacher. He said you attacked another student."

"No. I attacked a bully. There's a difference."

"San." His mother sighed. "You are a good kid, but you can't solve every problem with your fists."

"He was a bully! I defended my classmates, but you guys think that the Bully was the victim! What the hell is wrong with you people!"

"San!"

"No! I hate you! I'm leaving!"

"San! Come back!"

San took off running and ran until his anger fizzled out.

When he stopped, he looked at his Scroll.

He had one new Voicemail.

"San." His mom said in a weakened voice. "You're a good boy. I know that you believe that you are meant to protect those weaker than you..."

His mom coughed.

San started running home as he listened to the voicemail.

"... but you also have the potential to care about others as a benevolent man..."

She coughed again.

San pumped his legs faster. He had to get home.

"... please. Promise me that you will protect others. I have seen your benevolence, and know you will go on to do great things..."

She coughed again and began wheezing.

"... I want you to know that I love you..."

There was the sound of Grimm growling and blood splattering.

"NNOOO!" San yelled as he ran back to his house. 'Damn it! Why do we live in a village outside the kingdom's protection! Why don't we have any Hunters protecting us! Why are we just left here to die!'

When San got back to his house, he saw that it was destroyed. Pots and pans thrown everywhere, dishes shattered, the silverware scattered, furniture broken, and stuffing everywhere.

"MOM!" He yelled looking through the wreckage. "MOM!"

He found his mother's Scroll lying next to a severed hand.

"NNOOO!"

San's aura began glowing a sandstone orange before spreading throughout his town.

He felt something deep down inside wake up, and he opened his eyes revealing the same warm orange color.

Ebon Sashi

Ebon walked into his house. It was his and Hele's Anniversary.

Tonight, was going to be a special night. Hele had wanted kids since they got married, but his job as a Huntsman had put that on hold.

Tonight though. Tonight, he would make up for that.

He opened the door and dropped the bag in his arms.

The champagne bottle shattered when it hit the floor.

The flowers crumpled under his feet as he ran towards Hele who was bleeding out on the floor.

The box of chocolates he'd bought broke open and spilt over the dirty floor.

The house was a mess. The love seat was ripped open and cracked.

The Kitchen table was broken and had two legs broken off setting it at a forty-five-degree angle.

Anything of value was taken.

His wife lay beaten, broken. and bleeding on the floor.

"HELE!" He yelled. "No, no, no, no, no. Please open your eyes. Look at me. Please. No, no, no. Don't be dead."

He picked Hele up and held her while he cried. "NNOOO!" He yelled into the night.

A bandit kicked him to the floor.

"Lookie here boss." The bandit said. "He came home just like she said he would."

Ebon's eyes snapped open, and he laid Hele on the floor gently before getting up.

"What did you do to her?" He demanded in a dark, cold tone.

"All we did is have a little fun with her before we killed her. She was very soft. You were a lucky man."

Ebon looked over and saw Hele's Rapier in the bandit's hand.

"Do you believe in Pitch Black?" He asked darkly.

"What the hell are you talking about?" The bandit asked. "Pitch Black isn't real. He's the Boogeyman"

Ebon glowed black as his Semblance activated. "You're right. I Killed him!"

He pulled his twin blades from the sheaths on his back and went to work.

The sounds of terror ripped through the house as Ebon ripped through the bandits like a grinder through flesh.

After he slaughtered the bandits, he cleaned Hele up as best he could and dressed her in her Battle gear.

He took one of the sheathed swords off his back and put in on Hele's stomach before crossing her arms over her chest.

He took her sheathed Sword and put it in the place of the one he gave her.

He took some Fire Dust from his Dust pouch and activated it before throwing it on their bed.

"I know that if I stayed here to die that you would kick my ass in the next life. So, I'm going to hunt down and kill every bandit, every dirty Hunter, anyone who would use their power to hurt another person. I'll see you in the next life... Asuna."

Pardus Nix

Pardus had been a slave for as long as she could remember.

Her master, a short man with purple curly hair that resembled balls more than hair, had bought her when she was four and trained her until she was five.

After that she would take care of his house, wash his clothes, his bedding, scrub the floors, make his meals, shine the silverware, wash the windows, tend the garden, and a dozen other chores.

If she failed to get it all done by the end of the day, she would be whipped with a horse whip, and given the day to reflect on her failure then worked harder the next day.

After she picked up the pace and got all the work done, she was given Saturday's off, but she would have rather been working.

On Saturday's he would hang her from the ceiling by manacles in her room and whip her with the horse whip until she passed out from the pain.

She got used to the pain after a year of his cruel treatment, and no longer held any joy for him.

So, he bought a second slave.

He let them work together and become friends for a year.

She wished that they'd not become friends.

After they had become friends, he would hang her from the ceiling and whip her with the horse whip in order to get Pardus to beg him to stop.

He only stopped after she was in tears on the floor.

The slave girl, who Pardus found was named Lily, couldn't handle the torture, and died after a few short months.

Pardus' master left Lily's body in the room as another way to torture Pardus.

When she tried to touch the body, her master took his Odachi long sword, changed it to a Wakizashi short sword, and cut Pardus left snow leopard ear off.

Pardus shrieked in agony as she looked at the blood-soaked ear.

"Touch it again, and it will be the other ear." He'd told her.

That night Pardus prayed to the Alpha to come save her, but he never came.

She tried to stay away from her friends' dead body, but the decay became so bad that she had to try and move it.

The day after she tried moving her friend so she could bury the body she looked in the mirror at her head that was missing both ears.

She cried at her mutilated body.

After that she stopped praying to the Alpha, because it was useless to pray to something that didn't exist.

Over the next several years Pardus was beaten and tortured until she had finally had enough of it and snapped.

At age seventeen her semblance unlocked, and her semblance created a dozen copies of herself.

She marched into her master's study and her clones grabbed him.

"You will release me, or so help me I will break you." He yelled in his pathetic weak voice.

"You can't break what's already broken!" She snapped. "For twelve years you've beaten me, tortured me emotionally, mentally, and physically! This is your final day on Remnant, and I'm going to put you through twelve years of torture!"

She grabbed his Odachi and cut his ears off.

Her master screamed in pain.

She spent the next twelve hours mutilating her master's body, and when it was done, she burned his house to the ground taking his sword as a reminder of her past.

Hel Skera

Hel looked up at her friends.

"No one likes you." Pardus said. "Go back to wherever you came from.

"I don't know where I came from." Hel whispered sadly.

"Then it looks like no one likes you." Ebon said. "No one loves you."

Hel looked at San with pleading eyes.

"Don't look at me." San said harshly.

Hel started crying.

Loki

Loki struggled with each nightmare as they only got worse and worse.

She felt bad for San who's last thing he told his mother was that he hated her.

She felt Ebon's pain and felt bad for showing him this.

She wanted to murder Pardus', she nearly gagged at the thought, master.

'Finally!' She thought when she saw Hel's nightmare. 'A normal nightmare!'

She managed to pull herself free of the horrific sights and collapsed on the ground before puking up everything in her stomach.

During her bouts of puking, she caught glimpses of the others and saw them writhing on the ground.

Pardus got up and dragged herself over to Loki.

"I'LL MAKE YOU PAY FOR SHOWING ME THAT!" She snarled.

"It's no less than I deserve." Loki said looking up at Pardus.

Pardus looked down and saw. 'Those eyes!' She thought. 'Those are the same eyes!'

She thought back to her old life and remembered looking into the mirror with those eyes.

Her hand shook and she dropped the sword before falling to her knees. "Why did you have to look at me with those damned eyes!" She yelled as she sobbed.

Loki didn't know what she did, but she felt arms wrap around her and felt someone, most likely Pardus, put her head on Loki's back and start crying.

Ebon rolled to his knees and forced himself to stand up. He reached for a sword but stopped when he saw Pardus crying against their attackers back. "What the hell?" He asked.

San stabbed his shield into the ground and looked over at Pardus. He activated his Semblance and covered everyone taking on their injuries. "What happened?"

Hel pushed herself up and looked at her friends before looking at Pardus. "What happened?"

"The girl over there seems to have the power to show people their worst nightmares in vivid detail." San said. "We all know about her past but reliving it to that degree. She must be broken."

There was a clang as two wrist weights hit the ground, and San was just barely able to block the hit.

The punch sent him flying, and when he looked at his shield, he saw a dent in it. "WHAT THE HELL!" He shouted.

"That's what I said!" Scott yelled. "How the hell were you guys able to do that! You guys are too well coordinated!"

"Do you even know why?!" San asked.

"NO! Why?"

"We have all broken at one point of our lives. We had to learn how to trust each other to have each other's back. We share a bond stronger than any Academy trained Team. That's how we beat you so easily."

"Oh, boo hoo!" Gale snapped. "You guys have sob stories and suddenly you are super..."

Ebon Spartan kicked Gale to the ground and pointed a sword at his throat. "Don't talk like that again!" He snarled in a cold fury. "We have lost things that you can't possibly understand."

He pointed at Pardus. "Our childhood and innocence." He moved towards Hel. "Our memories and pasts." He pointed at San. "Our families and homes." Finally, he pointed at himself. "Our spouses and tranquility."

"We lost our Kingdom! Our home!"

Ebon grabbed Gale and slammed him into the ground. "Pardus was tortured every day for twelve years!"

He threw Gale into the air before grabbing his leg. "Hel doesn't know where she came from or who she used to be!"

He slammed Gale face first into the ground. "The last thing San said to his mom before she was killed was that he hated her!"

He threw Gale into a tree. "My wife of five years was raped and murdered on our fifth anniversary while I was coming home from a hunt!"

He picked Gale up and threw him into a wall, causing his Aura to flicker. "It was my last hunt before I retired to start a family with her!"

He grabbed Gale by the hair and threw him into the ground shattering his Aura. "WHAT THE HELL GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO COMPARE YOUR STRUGGLES TO OURS!"

Everyone looked at Ebon in horror.

"What the hell gives you the right?" Ebon asked before he fell to his knees and breathed a heavy sigh. "What gives you the right?"

San looked at Ebon and wished that his Semblance allowed him to take that kind of pain, so his friends didn't have to bear it, but his Semblance only allowed him to take physical pain.

Hel walked over to Ebon. She dropped to her knees and hugged him from behind. "It's okay." She said, her voice cracking. "We're right here. We're here with you."

Ebon crammed his fists in his eyes and felt sheer agony in his throat. It felt like he wanted to rip his throat out just so the pain would stop.

He felt a hand on his shoulder, and warmth spread through his body.

Finally. Mercifully. The pain stopped.

San took the Physical pain Ebon was feeling, and it caught him off guard. The pain was so intense that he wanted it to stop, but he wouldn't let his friend suffer any longer than he had to.

Scott walked over to Gale and picked him up. "We're all just a bunch of broken kids, aren't we?" He asked.

Later.

Scott and San met up later.

"Hey." Scott said rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm sorry about earlier. We got off on the wrong foot. I don't suppose we could start over?"

"I suppose we could." San said. "My name is San Kal. I suppose I'm the unofficial leader of our team."

"My name is Scotland Allen. I am not the leader of our group, but I'm the Samurai Fighter."

"I'm the Devotion Paladin."

"You know about Dungeons and Dragons?"

"No. I know about Labyrinths and Legends. What's Dungeons and Dragons?"

"Most likely the same thing."

They stood in a companionable silence for a few minutes.

"I'm sorry about your Shield." Scott said.

"Yeah. I'm going to have to come up with the money to repair it. It won't be easy because I use my Shield/sword to make the money I would need to repair it."

"Mind if I cover it?"

"How? The repair is going to be fairly expensive."

"I've got this covered." Scott said pulling out a Lien card.

The two walked over to the Blacksmith shop.

"Could you repair this with your most durable alloy?" Scott asked.

"If you've got the Lien."

Scott handed the blacksmith his card, and he swiped it.

"You've got enough."

"So, you can make it with your best materials."

"My best material out here is Dust infused Stainless Steel."

"What if I gave you some better materials?"

"If you have better materials, I won't say no."

Scott looked at his Gauntlets.

Gale woke up with a Crick in his neck. "Did someone get the number of that bitch?" He asked.

"18." Ebon said.

"Thank you." Gale said. "Wait. You know about Dragon Ball Z Abridged?"

"Team Three Star. It was my wife's favorite show. We always watched it when I came home from a mission."

"You mean Team Four Star?"

"I know what I said."

"Listen." Gale said. "This is really hard for me to say, but... I'm sorry."

"Just remember that there are people who have suffered more than you."

Gale sat in silence for a moment.

"What was she like?"

Ebon smiled a soft smile.

"Hele was amazing. Her smile lit up the room. She could turn any bad day around."

"She sounds amazing."

"She was. We were both on the same Team at Haven Academy. We got married after we graduated."

"That must have been nice."

"It was. I was going to stop after five years, and start a family, but..."

"I'm sorry."

"Her Semblance was 'Synchronize'. It allowed our Team to synchronize our attacks and moves."

"Is that how you guys were able to take us out so easily?"

"Partially. Though it was mostly due to long hours of training."

"Could we get that coordinated?"

"If you work hard enough, I guess."

Gale thought about that.

Jose was looking at Hel.

Hel looked over at him. "Hm." She said startled.

"Senhora. Is it true that you do not remember who you are?"

"Um. Yes. I woke up here, but I don't know how I got here."

"Was there not a man who guided you here?"

"No. Or at least I don't think so. I woke up here with only the scythe I now carry."

Jose took his cape off and gave it to her.

"Why are you giving me this."

"Because. You must not have much. The least I can do is give you my cape. I have more than enough capes, I can give you this one."

"Thank you." She spoke.

"You're Welcome."

Hel wrapped herself in José's cloak. No one had ever given her anything before. It felt... nice.

José and Hel walked around the perimeter of the village.

They were walking when they encountered a pack of Beowulf.

Hel pulled her Scythe out of nowhere while José flipped 'Bengala Cavaleiro' into a ready stance.

The two looked at each other before José ducked under Hel's Scythe as she swung towards the pack.

Yang walked into her and Scott's room.

'That was pretty intense. I didn't know anyone could fight that well. I hope they never meet Jason. That would be a bloodbath.'

She looked at her and Scott's bed and smiled a slightly evil smile. 'This is going to be fun.' She thought.

Scott walked into his and Yang's room.

Something felt... off.

He looked around and saw candles around the room.

"Yang?" He asked.

"I'm in the bathroom." Yang said.

"Oh. Okay." Scott said laying on one of the beds.

"You aren't going to join me?" Yang asked with a mischievous hint to her voice.

"Uh... Um..."

"You're cute when you're flustered. I'll be out in a second."

"Okay." Scott took out his Scroll and began scrolling through his apps to find something to do.

He heard Yang jump and looked up to see her land on him.

"So." Yang said. "Are you ready for round two?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean..." She said getting up to show that she was only wearing a towel.

"Oh." Scott said.

Yang leaned down and kissed him. "Now you get it."

Pardus was curled up in a bed shivering from the memories of her past.

She was shivering.

"I think you have a fever." A woman said.

"No thanks to you." She wheezed.

"I'm sorry. I just reacted when I saw my brother's friends hurt, and overreacted."

"You're a monster." Pardus curled in on herself.

"I know I am." The woman said. "I tried to show my girlfriend that she wasn't a monster and ended up chasing her away. I'm a monster."

Pardus shuddered.

The woman rolled Pardus on her back and put a cold Compress on her head. "We need to kill this fever."

Pardus grabbed the woman's wrist and bent it.

The woman twisted her wrist and grabbed Pardus by hers. "Look. I'm trying to help you. I know what you went through. That's a drawback to my Semblance. I see my Victims worst nightmares as well. I know what that man did to you, and I'm sorry for making you relive that, but you need to let me help you get this fever down or you will not get better, and possibly die."

"WELL MAYBE I WANT TO DIE!" Pardus yelled.

This caught Loki off guard.

The two looked at each other for several long minutes. Pardus glaring at Loki, while Loki looked at her with a carefully neutral expression.

"What!" Pardus yelled. "Didn't expect that!"

"I'm going to show you something that only my girlfriend knows about."

"What!"

Loki took off her shirt showing her toned body.

She took a bottle of make-up remover off her dresser and began washing off the concealer.

Pardus was horrified at what she saw.

All along Loki's body were thin white scars that looked like they were made from a razor blade.

Loki undid the front clip on her bra and spread her breasts showing a hole in her chest.

Loki clipped her bra back and turned around using the make-up remover to show Several more, thin lines.

She turned around to face Pardus. "When I was younger, I was tortured, much the same as you. It got to the point where they thought I was dead and threw me out with the trash. When I came to, I was barely alive. I crawled to a shelter that later became my home. I fought my way back to life, and survived until I met Jason, and I didn't look back."

Pardus had tears in her eyes.

Loki put her shirt on and looked at Pardus. "Now. You have a choice to make. Are you going to let your past control your future? Or are you going to let it define you, and make you a better person?"

Pardus looked at Loki. "I want to become a Beacon of hope for the Oppressed, and a symbol of fear for their oppressors wherever I go."

"Good. Now. Lay down and let me help you. Tomorrow, you're training begins."

That night Pardus woke in a black void.

"Where am I?" She asked."

Pardus Nix." A powerful voice said. "You have the potential to deal devastating damage to your enemies. Do you want this power?"

"I want the power to protect the Faunus the Alpha can't. I want to be able to protect every other Faunus."

"Will you accept my power?"

"Yes."

"There is one catch to this power."

"What is it!" She snarled.

"You will have to kill someone with a speed Semblance and take it from them."

"How?"

"You will know what to do when the time comes, but for now. Sleep."

Pardus eyes became very heavy, and she lost consciousness.

The next morning Pardus woke up and pawed at her eyes in the way the rest of her Team found adorable, but didn't mention because they were afraid, she would lash out or stop.

Something twitched on the top of her head, and she reached up to feel two ears.

She ran to the bathroom and looked in the mirror.

"Ahh!" She squealed and covered her mouth.

Loki ran into the bathroom. "What's wrong?" She asked before seeing the snow leopard ears on her head. "Where did those come from?"

"They grew back!" Pardus cried.

She felt something rub against her legs, and she looked down before she backed away.

"Pardus? What's wrong?"

"You can't see the snow leopard right there?" She asked pointing at a pale blue snow leopard walking towards her to nuzzle against her legs.

"No. Do you see a pale blue snow leopard right there?"

"Yes."

"Do you still have a fever?"

"No!" Pardus said activating her Aura.

"Whoa!" Loki said staring at a pale blue snow leopard glaring at her. "I see it now."

"Really?" she asked dropping her Aura.

"Yes. I think you need to activate your Aura before people can see it. Is it part of your Semblance?"

"I don't think so. My Semblance is Shadow Lurk. It allows me to create copies of myself. I don't know what this is."

"You're taking care of it." Loki said. "Now get cleaned up. We have a lot of training ahead of us."

Jose blinked awake. "O que aconteceu?" (What happened?)

"We were fighting Grimm and became overwhelmed. I used my Semblance, Banshee's Wail, to knock the Grimm out, and killed them before bringing you back here."

"Wait. Did you understand me?"

"Yes."

"But I was speaking Portuguese."

"I understand all languages. I don't know how, but I do."

"Você é uma linda flor em um campo de ervas daninhas." (You are a beautiful flower in a field of weeds.)

Hel blushed. "Thank you."

"Você é uma luz nas trevas da vida." (You are a light in the darkness of life.)

Hel blushed a darker shade of red.

"A flor mais bonita não se compara à sua beleza." (The most beautiful flower compares not to your beauty.)

Hel covered her face as it went an even darker shade. "Stop it." She squealed.

"Mais uma. Quando vi você, meu coração pulou uma batida." (When I first saw you, my heart skipped a beat.)

Blood shot out of Hel's nose, and she tackled Jose onto the bed.

Gale was busy mixing different Dust powders to make different Dust variations when he looked over at Ebon. "What happened to the other members of your team?" He asked.

"Klein was a bit of a dunce, but he was always good in a fight. Silica was like a sister. I Haven't talked to them in a while. Might need to check in sometime."

"You might? When was the last time you saw them?"

"Hele's and my wedding. We had a sister team, and a few other friends. Our sister Team consisted of Agil, Lisbeth, Leafa, and Sinon."

"Who were your other friends?"

"Sachi was a cat Faunus we befriended. Heathcliff was a friend turned traitor, we killed him. Pina was a Faunus of some kind, but she really only hung around with Silica."

"I see."

"That rapier on your back. Is it... Hele's?"

"Yes. A bandit tried taking it. I killed him, and gave her one of mine, and took her sword so we wouldn't forget each other, and we would stay connected through the next life."

"I have a sister. Abby. She's amazing. I can be a little difficult at times, but she's always been there for me. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to her."

The two sat in silence for a long moment.

"What are you doing?" Ebon asked breaking the silence.

"Making Dust." Gale said getting back to work.

"Say what now?"

"I'm mixing Dust to make hybrid Dust. This is Wind/Lightning Dust."

"Sounds interesting."

"We'll see what happens. I might not make it again."

"Well. You won't know unless you try."

"Exactly."

Scott and Yang were sleeping with Yang's head on Scott's chest.

Scott stretched, and shuddered.

"What's wrong?" Yang asked stretching.

"Nothing." Scott said. "Just had a shiver run up my spine."

"Oh. Okay."

"You know. I'm pretty sure that your family would kill me if they found out about us."

"Don't worry. I'll protect you."

"I might actually need that now."

"Wait. You're joking right?"

Scott held up his arm to show his bare wrist. "I gave my Wrist Weights to San. I reset them so he could train, and also to help repair his shield when I punched it."

"Wait. You can do that?"

"Yeah. When I arrived at Beacon, I was wearing Osmium Wrist Weights, but Geoff did some techno mumbo jumbo, and made it so they would gradually increase over time. He made a reset mode that would dump all but twenty pounds and reset the Weights. I dumped the ore, and the Blacksmith said he would repair San's Shield for the ore. It's nearly endless, and will make some nice, enhanced weapons."

"But you gave up your wrist weights. The cause of your strength."

"Don't worry. I'll still be insanely strong. I just won't be able to go toe to toe with a Goliath again."

"WHAT! When did you fight a Goliath?"

"When we took back Vale. I was able to fight it and kill it. Now I won't be able to."

"San better be really damn grateful for what you did."

"I'm sure he will be. I'm going to get ready." Scott said walking to the bathroom.

He turned on the shower.

"Are you going to join me?"

Yang jumped up and ran to the bathroom.

San looked at the wrist weights Scott had given him yesterday.

'Did they get heavier overnight?'

He was stuck in his own thoughts until someone came up behind him.

"Hey." Scott said coming up behind him. "How's the weights?"

"Did they get heavier last night?" San asked turning around to see Scott and Yang coming to him holding hands.

"Yeah. They gradually get heavier. Don't take them off except to shower, because if you take them off for long periods of time, they will get too heavy."

"Okay."

"Want to go see if your shield is done?"

"Might as well."

They walked to the Blacksmiths shop.

"Hey Turk." San said.

"Hey San." Turk said. "Here for your Shield?"

"Yeah."

"Here you go. I Re-forged it for you."

He picked up the shield and Mecha-shifted it to the buster sword.

He walked outside and began swinging it.

Scott and Yang walked outside.

"It's heavier." San said swinging it with both hands.

"Here." Scott said.

San handed Scott the Buster Sword.

Scott began swinging the sword one-handed.

"Whoa." San said as Scott was swinging in large arcs.

"Can you teach me how to do that?"

"You need to build your upper body strength up first."

"Okay."

"For now." Scott walked to the forest surrounding the village. "You need to practice." He handed San the sword back before taking out his 'Fangs'

Yang prepped 'Ember Celica'.

"Let's go." Scott said walking deeper into the forest.
