This was a prompt request from olivia25 asking for Amy's first few months of pregnancy and Mary's reaction. Thank you so much for requesting. Hope you enjoy!

Sheldon rolled around in bed as his body started to wake up, he stretched his long limbs as his eyes remained closed. The loud ringing of his alarm echoing around the room told him that it was 7.30am. He finally gave in and opened his eyes, blinking as they adjusted to the morning light. He pushed himself up on to his elbows and put a stop to the noise, it was only now that he realised Amy wasn't by his side and it was seconds later when he heard the sound that he had grown accustomed up over the past five days. Amy and her morning sickness.
It had been five days since Amy had taken a pregnancy test that came back positive, five days since he had found out he was going to be a father and three days since he had accompanied Amy to the doctors where they confirmed she was eight weeks pregnant. She had been violently sick every day since, she had also been sick numerous times in the build up to finding out about the pregnancy, only this time she wasn't hiding it from Sheldon.
"Amy" he called as he managed to drag himself out of bed and make his way over to the bathroom door. "Amy, are you okay?" He always made the effort to go over and see if she was okay, she would often tell him not to come in and that she was fine. He didn't quite know why, but today he got the impression that this bout of sickness was pretty full on.
When the sound of her being sick again seemed to cease and she didn't respond, he tried again. "Amy, can I come in?" he asked carefully unsure of the response he was going to get.
"Yeah" her voice sounded so weak and he had to listen so carefully just hear that she was talking. He gently pushed open the door, his heart broke when he saw her sitting there. She was next to the toilet, her legs underneath her as her arm rested upon the toilet bowl, she was as white as their bath tub and her eyes were glazed over with exhaustion, he wondered how long she had actually been up dealing with this.
"Is there anything I can do?" he asked feeling rather helpless, he imagined throughout the rest of her pregnancy there would be many moments where he felt like this.
"Unless you fancy carrying this baby for me" she was joking but Sheldon knew in that moment if it was at all possible she would have been all for them swapping positions.
"Well if we seahorses I..." Amy held up her hand to Sheldon, silencing him as she started to be sick again. She quickly managed to grab her hair and hold it in a make shift ponytail behind her head.
Sheldon tried to very subtly avert his eyes, otherwise he knew it wouldn't be long until he was joining her, he knew his aversion to bodily functions would have to change in some way with a baby on the scene. He made his way over to the sink and grabbed the wash cloth, he wet it before thoroughly wringing it out. He folded it neatly before handing it over to Amy, whether she needed it for her forehead or to simply wipe her mouth he hoped it would be helpful.
"Thank you" she mumbled. He moved around her and perched himself on the edge of the bath tub, he didn't know how to comfort her but he didn't want to leave her alone. She shuffled closer to him and rested her head in his lap. "I think it might be easing off a little."
"Good" he nodded as he started to gently stroke her hair. "Should you be going into work?" he asked, surely if she was sick, although the knew it wasn't contagious, she shouldn't be working. She needed to rest.
"I'll be okay. It really is just a morning thing" she explained.
"Do you need anything? Tea? Toast?" he offered.
"I won't keep it down" she sighed, although she knew it was important for both her and the baby to eat, she couldn't face being sick again and if the previous days record was anything to go by it was pretty inevitable. "Can we just stay here for a little bit?" she asked hopefully.
"Sure" Sheldon nodded as he continued stroking her hair almost sure Amy was about to fall asleep on his lap.
3 weeks later - 11 weeks and 4 days pregnant.
"Turn to the side" Sheldon spoke as he observed Amy closely. He was sitting in bed reading, Amy was at the foot of the bed wearing just her pyjama bottoms and bra as she slowly turned to the left. "No, no the other way" he instructed as he peered at her curiously.
"What's going on?" she asked feeling somewhat uncomfortable under his watchful eye.
"You're starting to show" he smiled. "There's the start of a bump forming" he noted. Sheldon knew that it probably wasn't visible to most, Amy hid it well under all her layers of clothing but now she stood before him, her top half exposed, he could just make out the slight curve of her stomach.
"Do you really think so?" she asked as her hands moved to the spot. It was mind blowing to think that just beneath her palm there was a tiny little person growing, a person that she and Sheldon had created out of complete love.
"Yeah, it's only very slight"
Amy smiled to herself as she pulled on her pyjama top, satisfied that their little baby was growing as it should be. Although the sickness was still giving her trouble and this past week she had suffered exhaustion like never before, she was determined to enjoy this pregnancy and treasure every single moment. It was a blessing after all.
"I can't wait to finally see this little one tomorrow" Amy spoke as she climbed in to bed next to Sheldon. Tomorrow, marked what would be her twelve week scan, the first time she and Sheldon got to see their baby. She was so excited by it all that she wasn't sure she would be able to sleep, she felt like a little girl on Christmas Day.
"Me too" he smiled as he closed his book and snuggled down in bed turning his attention towards Amy. "It will be nice to finally be able to tell people too," so far their little baby had just been their secret, Amy was desperate to wait until this point before they told their family and friends. How their friends hadn't questioned them about it they would never know. Amy hadn't drunk around them, she was having to order different food due to her restrictions and anything that smelt remotely strong sent her sense into over drive to the point where she had to physically leave the room. "Did you know it's now the size of a lime, can you picture that, something the size of a lime is growing inside you right now."
"How do you know this?"
"I read it in a book" Amy didn't say anymore or question him further, the fact he had taken his time to read up on the current status of their baby made her heart swell with love for him.
"I love you so much Sheldon Cooper" she smiled as leant over and placed a kiss to his lips.

"Okay, this might be a little cold" the sonographer warned as she squirted the blue gel on to Amy's stomach. This was the moment they had been waiting for since Amy had had her pregnancy confirmed, this was their first big pregnancy milestone. She reached out for Sheldon's hand, the sudden physical contact took him by surprise however, he willingly accepted.
"Your hands are shaking, is it really that cold?" he asked quietly as the sonographer placed the probe onto Amy's stomach and started moving it around.
"No, I'm just nervous" she mumbled quietly. Sheldon didn't respond verbally, he just squeezed her hand letting her know that he to understood. He was a little nervous too. Amy lay there, eyes closed, the dimly lit room was starting to convince her body it was night time, she was feeling tired all over again.
The seconds were ticking by and she could feel Sheldon's grip on her hand tightening. The seconds were starting to feel like hours and Amy could feel her heart rate gradually increasing, she felt the sonographer apply a little more pressure to her stomach and then just like that they heard it.
A loud, thudding whooshing sound was suddenly heard. There was no denying what it was, Amy quickly opened her eyes and let go of a breath that she didn't know she had been holding.
"Is that..."
"That's your baby's heartbeat" the sonographer smiled already confirming Sheldon's thoughts. The tiny little lime had a heartbeat, something so small had a heart, a real beating heart. Amy let go of his hand, using her own to wipe away the tears that were freely flowing down her cheeks. "Here is your little one" the sonographer took hold of the screen and twisted it round so that Amy and Sheldon were met with the same black and white image that greeted her.
There was no denying that it was a baby, a tiny baby but a little person all the same. It was so much clearer than they expected, a tiny little head and body, long arms and legs, you could make it all out without question.
"Wow" Sheldon whispered, this time he was the one reaching out for Amy's hand, her eyes were completely glued to the screen. She could watch her little baby wriggling around all day long, she didn't think she could ever get bored of it. It was truly amazing.
"Is everything okay?" Amy eventually asked after she had finished wiping her eyes.
"All perfect. Heartbeat is lovely and strong and all of baby's measurements are exactly what we would expect" she smiled. "I can give you a more accurate due date" she explained as she clicked a few buttons and jotted down some notes. "November 23rd, how does that sound?"
"It sounds great" although they had known Amy would be due in November, suddenly having a date stamped upon it made it seem all the more real. By the end of November they would be parents, by Christmas they would have a four week old baby.

The ringing of the Skype call from their laptop filled the apartment. Sheldon and Amy were perched on the sofa, excitedly waiting to break the news of the pregnancy to Sheldon's mother. They both wanted her to be the first person that they told.
"Oh Shelly, why did you make me come on here. You know I don't know how these things work" Mary sighed as she finally figured out how to accept the call. She instantly knew something was going on, their bright beaming faces would have made any mother suspicious.
"It's nice to see you too mother" Sheldon muttered sarcastically. "Amy and I have something to show you" he explained, Amy reached out for something placed on the coffee table before filling the camera with what was held in her hands. The tiny scan image of their baby. They both waited with baited breath for Mary's reaction.
"Sheldon Lee Cooper, don't you be messing with me now" she warned.
"I'm not" he protested. "Amy...
"I'm pregnant" Amy announced excitedly as she removed the photo from the screen so that Mary could see their faces.
"Oh my" Sheldon knew his mum was trying to hold it together, even if they were happy tears he knew his mother hated the thought of Sheldon seeing her upset. "Oh thank you lord" she smiled.
"He didn't have anything to do with it" Sheldon knew she would somehow spin this round on to Jesus.
"Oh he heard my prayers Shelly, he heard them. I'm going to be a grandma" she squealed excitedly. Sheldon didn't want to enter in to a conversation about her prayers however, he did find it slightly odd that she had been praying for this. "Amy, darling, when are you due?"
"November 23rd"
"Shelly, I'm so proud of you. You know this is just the beginning."
