The rest of the school week flew by quickly and soon enough... It was Friday! Two days of no school, where you can do anything your heart desires, as long as it's legal of course. While for a certain teenager, he was going to be riding his newly purchased electric scooter to the Junior School and help the little ones with soccer practice. Paul enquired about helping out in regards to soccer. With the coach declining any further help, Mr Barkin offered the teen an opportunity to help out the middle school children every Friday after school. Unfortunately, here in America, middle school and high school were not walking distance of each other. Instead the middle school in Middleton was about 4 miles away from the high school. Which corelates to around 6KM. School finished at 3:00PM and the soccer practice would start at 3:30PM. Paul calculated by the time, he left his last class, packed his bag, organise what books to take home for the weekend, say goodbye to his new friends, Kim, Josh and Monique. then set up the electric scooter, it would be around 3:10 or earlier and surely he would make it across town before 3:30 in time to help set up. Besides he bought a powerful electric scooter which goes quite fast. Paul was riding down the footpath at some top speed of 25KM/PH, thinking about his first week of school here. He already made some good friends, the likes of Kim, Josh and Monique. He even meet this blonde haired kid called Brick, who plays football. On television those jocks are always stereotyped to be mean and bully people which, boils Paul's blood, but surprisingly. He actually was nice and genuine, bit slow but nonetheless nice. Paul couldn't speak for the others though, can't make a call about them yet. Also a girl named Bonnie, who annoys Kim to the bone. Man she is bad news, note to self; Avoid her at all times. Paul didn't want anyone bringing him or his friends down. But one person he couldn't stop thinking about was Kim.
Oh god, how she looked so beautiful. He has known her for less than a week and has fallen for her already. Too bad she's out of his league. Besides if they dated and Paul returns to Australia, would long-distance relationships work? Did she even liked him back? (Sighs) So many confusing feelings for this young man. Plus she seemed a bit less talkative towards him after Monday. Did he say something wrong to her?
3:26PM
Soccer Pitch - Middleton Elementary/Middle School
Paul's scooter started to slow down as he began to see a large soccer pitch and a man dressed in dark blue long-sleeved gear was laying out orange cones. Paul gently put his scooter to a full stop and lays it on the grass, alongside with his helmet. He drops his backpack and begins to walk to the man. He looks up at Paul.
"Hello there, you must be Paul." The man says.
"Hey there coach, that's right. It's easier to call me Paul."
"Right on Paul. My name's Harvey" The man introduces himself.
"Nice to meet you Harvey." Paul shakes the man's hand
Paul and Harvey finish off set up the cones around the soccer pitch and soccer balls around each designated area. Before they know it, they are done and dusted off their hands. Both approach each other, both staring and admiring their hard work.
"So, what's todays agenda?" Paul asks Harvey.
"Well it's the first session for the semester. Being a new school year and all, we have both elementary kids and middle school students attending here. We will go through a bit of soccer drills and hopefully we can create a quick match and finish before 4:15PM.
"Alright, sounds good." Paul clasps both his hands together before rubbing them.
"So, Steve tells me you are an Exchange Student."
"That's right sir. I'm from Australia."
"Ah, the land from Down Under (Chuckles) How do you like America?"
"Honestly, it's been a pretty great start so far. Really nice, friendly town."
"That's good to hear, it's pretty safe out here. Except for the occasionally bad guy sometimes. But surprisingly, the crime rate here is exceptionally low."
"Good to know." Paul says as he exactly knows what Harvey is taking about.
A few minutes later young kids dressed in mixed clothing. Some wearing casual clothing or soccer jerseys of their favourite teams, began to gather around the soccer pitch. Paul was a surprised not to see many European soccer kits, instead they looked like from the country's league of MLS. Some where between the ages of 8 to 12.
He already knew that NFL was the most popular sport in the US. Soccer was probably 5th on the list. NFL was first, followed by Basketball, Baseball and Hockey.
"Alright guys, as you probably already know by now, My name is Mr Milton. And this is going to be my assistant, Paul. For the next 9 months he will supervise you guys and help you increase your soccer skills and hopefully encourage all of you boys and girls to gain interest in soccer." Harvey says, as Paul waves to the young kids, "Alright, so we'll start today with a few basic soccer drills."
Soccer balls were being kicked around in-between the cones and being controlled by the kid opposite each other and was a continuous pattern while Paul observed and watched them. He approached towards the end of the last set of cones and noticed two brown-haired boys who looked like there where brothers. More like twins, as they were kicking the ball with zero effort and their heads down, looking like they didn't even want to be here at all. Paul saw this and walked up to them and spoke up.
"What's wrong guys?"
"We don't like soccer." The kid in red says.
"Yeah it's boring" The kid in green adds on.
"Boring? Well tactics can be technical, but it can be fun." Paul says.
"How? You can't even touch the ball." One of the kids say.
"Besides, we'd rather continue working on our science experiments." the other one adds on.
"Being Goalkeeper you can handle the ball, but must be with inside their box. And look at least soccer get's you outside with some fresh air and exercise."
"Well we don't like it" Both boys said at the same time
This isn't the first time has dealt with a situation like this before, he has heard from dozens of kids that they don't like soccer. It's maybe that their parents signed up for them or they are too busy to pick them up from school, due to work commitments. He would make them turn around their decision with a few sessions. An idea sprang up into mind.
"Tell you what guys. Today's the 7th of August. We have another 3 sessions before the end of the month. If you guys don't want to play soccer before the end of the month, which is the 28th, the last session before September. You guys can drop out of after school soccer program. And I'll even make sure of it. Do we have a deal?"
Both boys looked at each other. They know that they promised to go to soccer practice every Friday for their dad, and they knew that if they didn't want to play, they could leave after a few sessions. The boys developed a mischievous smile, thinking that they can get underneath the skin of the helper before they end up leaving soccer to . After all, they were troublemakers.
"Deal" The both smiled at the teen, being unaware what that had in mind.
"Alright. Also word of advice. The key is when the ball approaches you, use your weaker foot to control it first touch, then drag it to the dominant foot and kick it back to your teammate."
"Got it." The boy in green says. Paul then checks up on the other kids, as vaguely he hears two strange sounds from his vicinity. These words or sounds, were definetely not part of the English Language.
"Hicka-Bicka-Boo?"
"Hoo-sha!"
After some time the kids finished their training drills and a loud whistle can be heard from the distance.
"Bring it in guys! Okay guys. We finished our practice and training for today. Good effort everyone. Now we can play a short match."
Most of the kids were cheering. Mr Milton organised the kids into two teams of eleven.
"Alright. Paul you can officiate this game, you've proven worthy today."
"Thanks Harvey. I appreciate the opportunity."
"You earned it today Paul." Harvey says, already earning a spot in his good books.
Harvey passes Paul the ball and play starts addressing the group of kids.
"Okay I need one player from each side to play one game of rock, paper, scissors to decide who kicks off first."
While Paul was distracted officiating a rock, paper, scissors match, the two twins communicated through their hand gestures, implying their mischievous plan. As Paul overwatches the two kids playing rock, paper, scissors. Little did he notice one of the twins comes behind him and checked to see Mr Milton wasn't around to look at him, who was picking up the cones from the previous drill, had his window of opportunity. He untied Paul's shoe laces and tied both of them together and quickly returns next to his brother both innocently staring at the sky awaiting for the prank to fall into plan.
"Okay looks like Red sashes will kick off. Okay ever- Oh my shoe laces are untied." Paul says and bends over to ties them up quickly. Both twins stare in shock. Their prank had fail? They always succeeded at pranks! Instead of seeing Paul land flat on his face on the grassy field, he untied his shoe laces just by taking one step. Paul must have been really strong to untie them by his legs when he moved or the twin didn't tie them tight enough. It was impossible to avoid that prank.
"Oh man. Tim, you didn't even tie his laces tight enough!"
"I did Jim. He must have untied them when he moved."
"But that's impossible." Tim says staring at Paul
"Well as dad always says 'Anything is possible fo-" Tim says but is interrupted when his brother gives him a disapproving look.
"Sorry."
"Well at first you don't succeed, try again."
"I don't know Jim, we've caused enough problems on the first week back of school. Let's let him be, he looks like a cool guy. Plus I don't want to get another grounding from mum and dad."
"What are you talking about Tim? This guy is making us play soccer."
"That's his role though, to make kids play soccer. Besides we made a deal with him. At the end of the month, we'll say we aren't interested in playing soccer anymore and we can get back to building our rockets and inventing. It'll just for a few more weeks."
"No! I want this guy to suffer! I want him to stop assisting us with soccer. And that way, we'll never see this guy again."
"I don't know man." Tim says scratching his arm.
"Come on bro, we need to stick together." Jim says to his brother, peer pressuring him, more like brother pressuring him to partake in further pranking.
Tim hesitated for a moment, but he didn't want to let down his brother, "Alright, but only for you."
"Thanks bro."
"Anytime."
"Don't you just love Club Banana?" Kim says to her newly made friend.
"You got that right, girl" Monique replys back Kim.
Both teens were shopping at the Middleton Mall, at their favourite store Club Banana. Monique was hoping that she would get the job position in the coming weeks. She is getting a better feel of the environmnet of Middleton's Club Banana. Afterall she's praying that she will work in her favouirte designer clothing store.
They finished their first week of the new school year and have only known each other for a week, but are both quickly becoming good friends.
Both were shopping for the latest clothing trends, plus Friday was late night shopping. Kim was busy staring at these trendy jackets. Both teens haven't spoken for a few minutes and Monique was brave and straightforward to ask Kim this question.
"So, Kim. Do you have a crush on Paul?" Monique asks straightforward question to her friend.
"What! N-no!."
"Aha, sure girl. You keep thinking that. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me"
"I'm serious Monique."
"You can call me Mon."
"Look... Mon. I don't think dating him is a good idea. Maybe we're better off as friends."
"Don't worry, I'll keep my hands off of him." Monique says winking at the red-head, unknowing to Kim, some other guy has stolen her heart already.
Kim then thought back to a certain black-haired teen. Paul. She mentally sighed at his name. Never in her life has she felt this way about a boy, the goose bumps on her skin, her stomach getting butterflies and getting that warm and fuzzy feeling. She wanted to hug that boy so much, he looked so cute. It's a weird feeling but that's how she feels. Too bad he was out of her league. A boy like that would attract thousands of girls. Thank god he dislikes Bonnie after the altercation at the cafeteria. He must hate bitchy girls. At least he won't fall for the those type of girls. He would never ask Kim out, which disappointed her. She wouldn't confess that to anyone, because she knows that he will never like her, more than a friend.
Curse her stubbornness.
"Earth calling Kim." Monique waves her hand in front of Kim's dreamy face.
"Huh" Kim snaps out of her thoughts.
"You kind of spaced out there girl."
"Oh sorry. I was just thinking about something."
"Did you picture him shirtless?"
"MON!" Kim exclaims.
"Okay girl, I'll tone it down... For now." Monique says as she adds a bit of cheekiness at the end of her sentence.
'Beep-Beep, De Deep'
Kim hears her Kimmiuncator go off and reaches her pocket to answer.
"Hey Wade, what's the sitch?" Kim answers the young boy on her screen.
"We just got a tip off about Dr Drakken. Apparently he's developing a weapon with stolen plans from a scientist. The weapon can break into any secure lab. He's main goal is to steal a top secret disc from an underground lab somewhere in Nevada. Just try and stop him from building this weapon and he won't bother any labs for the time being."
"Got a ride?"
"5 Minutes away."
"You rock Wade!" Kim says shutting off the screen of her Kimmunicator.
She looks towards Monique's direction who had overheard the entire conversation. Kim felt guilty leaving her new friend hanging. But Monique already knew in just her short time with Kim, she would be occupied with fighting crime. Monique knew what Kim would be a very busy teenager when it came to these important missions.
"Oh um .Sorry Monique I-"
"It's cool Kim, I know what you do for a living. Do ya thing girl. Just be safe."
"So not the drama Monique. I'll be back within a couple hours. After we can go out for smoothies and continue our late night shopping."
"You're on girl" Monique says smiling.
"5 minutes until half time guys." Paul says out loud to the kids, indicating the main break is approaching.
The two teams were levelled at 1-1, it had been a very tight game in the first half, only two goals were scored. The goals haven't been easy to come by, they were quite small compared to the real life ones. They weren't goal regulated sized, they were much smaller, it's what they use for indoor futsal matches kind of goals.
"You ready Tim?"
"Yeah let's do it"
Jim thought of a Plan B for pulling a prank, there wasn't much that they could do on a soccer pitch, but they were smart enough to think of something. Despite lacking materials to use around them, Jim thought of something in a short time frame.
A teammate passes Jim the ball, Jim passes to Tim and Tim does the same thing, Jim then decides to dribble the ball up the field, he then kicks the ball directly at Paul, but he moves away swiftly to avoid getting hit by the black and white ball. Jim gets annoyed at this, along his teammates for giving up possession of the ball to the opposition.
That plan was simply terrible. And it caused a turnover in possession.
"Was that your Pla-"
"Quiet Jim, I've got one more trick up my sleeve."
"What is it?"
"Rockets." Tim whispered to his brother.
"Rockets! Tim, why would you bring rockets to school?" Jim says now starting to get worried.
"If anybody messes with us." Tim says/
"But Tim!" Jim changes his tone to a whisper, "We could get suspended."
"Relax bro, will be fine."
a few minutes pass, then suddenly.
'FWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET'
"Half-Time. Go have a 4 minute rest, get some water and the second half will begin shortly." Paul blew his whistle as the two teams take a short intermission.
Tim goes towards his school bag and smuggles some rockets into his pockets, he had to be careful not to cause a scene.
A few minutes pass by as the small kids are ready to begin the second half.
"Wait Tim, we've got to think ahead, what if we get into serious trouble?"
"Jim, I thought we were going to stick together. Brothers for life, why would you back out now?."
"Because we could get grounded for life!" Jim shouts out.
'FWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET'
"30 Seconds guys" Paul called out to everyone within his vicinity, but Jim and Tim where still not moving from their original position.
"We can get away with it Jim!"
"But I'm sick of it man, for once let's just not prank someone. Let's save it for Kim." Jim says trying his best to avoid another prank for happening.
"But this guy needs to pay" Tim, takes a rocket out of his pocket.
"He hasn't done anything wrong."
"So?" Tim pulls out a matchbox.
"...Give me the rocket Tim." Jim extends his hand out to his brother
"Nope." Tim says in a childish manner, lighting up his matchstick.
"Give it to me!" Jim exclaims, his patience wearing very thin.
"Make me." Tim says while holding a lit match and protecting the rocket over his chest.
Jim and Tim start fighting over the rocket they are tugging over the small rocket, but little did they both know that Tim's match accidentally started the short fuse at the end of the rocket. The both stopped fighting for a second as both widened their eyes the rocket was about to launch they both hit the deck.
"Okay everyone second half begins now."
'FWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET'
"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"
The rocket launched into Paul's direction, his eyes widen upon seeing this, but thanks to his world class reflexes, he manages to duck out of the way and now...
It was heading towards Mr Milton and thankfully the so-so fit coach dodged the rocket heading towards him and it exploded into the sky, making all this loud and crackling noises.
Paul who was on the grassy ground saw all of this happen and he could only say one thing.
"Sweet" he says a bit impressed nodding his head.
"JIM AND TIM!" Mr Milton yelled out from the floor, as the crackling noise can be heard from the background.
Both boys stared at Mr Milton in shock, then both pointed to each other
"He did it!"
"You two sit down here" Mr Milton points to the bench, which within the school grounds. Which is a few minute walk away from the soccer pitch.
Both boys sit down on the bench fearing that this could mean big trouble for them. Even worse than getting suspended. Maybe even expulsion.
"(Sighs) What am I going to do with you boys. First week back at school and you cause trouble again. I'm sorry that I have to do this, but I'm going to have call your parents in for a meeting and discuss your behaviour."
Both boys hung their heads in shame, they both looked like they were going to cry.
"Alright you boys stay here, I'm going to go help Paul pack up the soccer equipment and wait for you parents to pick up and have a little talk with them." He got up from his crouching position as he turns around, to his surprise, he sees Paul.
"Oh Paul, I was just on my way to help you pack up."
"No need sir, it's all done." Paul says.
"Oh excellent. I'm sorry you almost got hit by that rocket. I've dealt with those two boys. Those two will except their parents first thing Monday morning in my office." Harvey moves towards Paul, and away from the two boys to ensure they don't hear their conversation.
"That's alright Harvey. Actually can I talk to you for a second please?"
"Sure thing. W-"
"In private I mean."
"Oh, sure thing Paul."
Both Him and Paul moved away from the two twins to somewhere more private.
"What's up?"
"Sir... Um... I know this will be a bit strange, but can we give those two boys one last chance?"
"You want me to give them one more chance?" Harvey says in disbelief.
"Well sir, there's a saying 'Boys will be boys', but..."
"But what?" Harvey asks confused.
"Please don't tell their parents about their behaviour today."
"But you almost got hurt from their rocket."
"Almost... Please Mr Milton, If they do this type of thing again during the after school soccer program, I'll take the blame. Tell their parents that I trusted them with one last chance."
Mr Milton thought about this, he knew Paul meant well about Jim and Tim, but then again both of them were troublemakers. Double trouble. he sighed, "Since today you did a great job assisting me with the kids. And the fact you'll be helping me throughout the school year... Alright. Jim and Tim get one last chance. If they do it again, I'll exclude them from participating in this program for the rest of the year. And I will have to bring you alongside to the meeting and you have to explain to their parents that you gave their boys one last chance."
"That sounds alright to me. Thanks sir, I promise. May I speak to the two boys alone for a few minutes."
"No problem."
"Thanks."
Paul starts walking back towards the two twins were sitting down.
"May I ask why you want to give them one more chance?" Mr Milton calls out behind Paul's back.
"They look like they mean well." Paul turns around while walking backwards.
"Son, you have any idea how much that these two get into trouble?"
Paul stops for a second to talk.
"They're young sir, they don't know better. Once they become mature, they'll think back on their misbehaving past thinking 'Did I really do that when I was younger'."
Paul turns around and walked towards the two brunette boys.
"Mind if I sit in the middle?"
"Sure"
"Yeah"
Both boys said with a deadpan expression, still both their heads staring towards the ground, slouching on the bench and leaning against the brick wall, which was built behind the wooden bench.
Paul took a seat in-between them, it was dead silent for a few seconds before Paul spoke up.
"I know you boys don't like me that much."
"What!" Both boys said in unison
"T-t-thats not true" Tim says
"I know it is. I got to admit and I shouldn't be saying this. That was pretty cool."
"Really?" Both said surprised.
"Yeah, but if this was a different day, someone could have gotten really hurt. And might have led to an expulsion."
Both boys now feeling guilty about the whole rocket incident.
"Look were sorry" Jim says
"Yeah were sorry" Tim says straight after Jim's apology.
"It's alright boys. You're both young. You'll both grasp the concept of maturity one day."
"I spoke to Mr Milton... I've asked him, to give you guys one last chance. He won't speak to your parents about today's incident" Paul says.
"What!" Both twins said quite shocked.
"But we almost blasted you with a rocket." Jim says a bit confused how they will get once last chance.
"I thought you would've wanted to punish us." Tim says.
"And a meaningless punishment will just decline your morality... Look guys..."
Both boys decided to say their names.
"Jim"
"T-Tim" Tim says a bit nervously.
"Right. Jim and Tim. Twins. My guess was right. Tell me. Which one is the evil one?"
Both boys laugh.
"At least you boys still have your sense of humour. I know you two don't like playing soccer, I get it. You're not interested in it. That deal we made. It still stands. After today we got 3 more sessions left, you're still free to leave the program at the end of the month.
Both twins understood what Paul was talking about.
"However, I can tell you from here on out, you'll be walking a very tight rope. What you boys did today on school grounds will be considered if this behaviour continues. I want you two to please promise it isn't going to happen again."
Jim and Tim glanced at each other before nodding, understanding the consequences if they cause trouble again.
"We promise Paul."
"Thank you. When I come back next week, I want to give you boys something."
"What is it?" Jim asked curiously
"Well, it's a secret. Anyway I hope you boys behave yourselves, I'm going to call back Mr Milton, so he can dismiss you two. You boys have a good weekend." Paul says as he stands up from the bench
"Oh boys one last thing... This is really your last chance. After this and you guys cause trouble again, whether it's... I don't know, misbehaving at school or whether your playing sports. I can't help you get out of that situation. Sometimes when you need to face the consequences, you really do need to face them. You boys understand?"
Both boys nodded nervously.
"Good. Take care Jim and Tim."
Paul then walked away towards the soccer field, leaving Jim and Tim both thankful and some thoughts that they have never experienced before. Was it guilt? accountability? Today was a lesson learnt for both, but did they truly know that?
"And so Shego, my master pl-"
"Blah blah blah, whatever doc, can we get this done before princess shows up and ruins everything. Again"
"Fine. I'll get started." Drakken says before turning away to type on of his rather large big screened computer.
"You should get started alright." A teenage girl voice can be heard.
"On your jail sentence." Kim says landing on the liar's floor.
"Kim Possible?!" Drakken shouts shocked.
"That's right. Now give up those stolen plans and return them to their rightful owners."
"I think not. Shego! Attack!" Drakken exclaims as he goes back to his keyboard, this time, his typing very quickly.
"Way ahead of you." Shego jumps to her feet and approaches the red-head teen, "Hello Kimmy, where's your buffoon of a sidekick? Finally got rid of him? He was useless anyway"
Kim gets agitated by this and her feelings get caught up while she's throwing her fists at Shego.
"He moved away Shego." Kim responds back.
"Don't care princess. Less talk, more action."
Both girls were taking hits, but they were still both standing.
Kim tries this insane spinning backwards punch, but unbelievably, Shego caught it. Surprising the red head.
"Nice try kid, but you've got wake up pretty early in the morning to take me down."
Kim counters and escapes Shego's grasp and pushes her away.
"Please. I woke up quarter past 6. What time did you wake up?" Kim says smiling and lifting eyebrow.
"Uh- I woke up... never mind! Stop trying to change the subject." Shego clearly agitated at Kim's burn. Reality she slept in today. She thought she would have a 3 day weekend, instead of a the usual 2 day weekend.
Meanwhile Drakken was trying his best to get his weapon printed off in his brand new 3-D printer, using stolen plans. He now was waiting for something important to come out. It was only a matter of seconds before it was ready
"Come on, come on, come on." Drakken staring at the machine, being impatient and all.
'DING'
"Aha... My popcorn is ready!"
Drakken opens up the microwave and start eating his popcorn
"Hmmmm Buttery. Needs a tad of salt."
Drakken goes into the kitchen and quickly applies salt to the bowl and mixing the popcorn, before tasting it.
"Ahh much better." Drakken says, finally satisfied at his buttery and salty popcorn.
'DING'
Drakken hears the 3-D printer finished off his weapon and quickly runs towards the machine and grabs the weapon.
"Yes aha! Success, Shego! Time to vamoose." Drakken calls out before jumping into his hovercraft.
"Finally!" Shego knocks Kim on her feet literally as she quickly spins her leg out, Kim falls flat on her bottom as she quickly jumps into the hovercraft, "Later princess!"
The two flew away in Drakken's hovercraft, into the evening sky, Kim Possible was rubbing her sore bottom as she sees them fly off, she was quite angry that Drakken got away and Shego managed to get under her skin about Ron. She was now wandering if this 'going solo thing' would work out, better than she had thought it would.
"They got away?" Monique asked, astonished. Thinking her friend would have taken down her main arch-nemesis.
A low growl came through Kim's mouth, "Shego threw me off my game when she mentioned my partners name and that he left me."
"Ron?"
"Yep" Kim said popping the letter 'P'.
"Don't worry Kim, ever hero has it's off day. Thank you." Monique grabs her smoothie from the pick up area.
"Well not me Mon. Thanks." Kim grabs her smoothie as well, "I mean, Drakken gets away sometimes, but he always slips up before he finishes off his master plan. He is... how you say. Incompetent" Kim saying to Monique as both teens walk to an open table and sit down.
"Maybe, there's hope to catch him before he does something drastic."
"You're right Mon, Wade did say he was trying to steal some top secret disc in a underground lab. I should call him and then we can spend the rest of the evening shopping."
"No problem Kim"
Pressing a button the screen lit up and the image of Wade sitting in his room appeared.
"Hey Kim, What's up." Wade answers as he takes a sip of his soda.
"Wade, I need you to keep an eye out for any news or hits on Drakken. Intel, scans, anything to give me a heads up when he goes to that lab in Nevada."
"Way ahead of you Kim, I've got a notification the second he enters the state of Nevada."
"Awesome. It just irritates me that Shego played me and they both escaped so easily."
"Look Kim, you just had a bad mission, It happens once in a while. Also Kim, there's something I need to tell you. I know it's a bit too soon, but I think we should bring in another partner for you."
"I prefer to go solo honestly." Kim ignores the need for a partner despite her mission a few hours ago went down.
"Kim, you need to balance the missions. I say this with the up most respect, but you're eventually going to get fatigued without Ron or another partner around."
"Look Wade, I don't want to be a pain, but when the time comes to get someone, I'll you know."
"Okay Kim, it's your call. Anyway I'll give you a full update on Drakken."
"Thanks Wade, you rock." Kim switches off her Kimmunicator and pockets the device.
"Right Monique, you ready to shop until we drop." Kim says trying to brighten her mood.
"You got that right girl!"
"I got to say Doc, that plan actually worked quite well. I wonder where the buffoon was." The black haired women thought curiously.
"Yes, I was curious too why Kim Possible wasn't with her buffoon. He usually tries and stop my evil plans."
"Whatever, it's not important. The important thing is to now go to Nevada and raid that secret lab."
Both were silent for a few seconds, before Drakken slightly laughs, before he laughed at a louder rate slowly. He then starts smashing his closed fist on the dashboard laughing like a hyena.
"What's so funny Drakken?"
"Oh Shego, you crack me up. That my dear was a diversion." Drakken explains.
"What!" Shego exclaims.
"Shego, you except me to give away the actually location of the lab?" Drakken says.
"But you did! In your little email" Shego exclaims.
"Yes, but it's a set up. A fake location, it sets up a wild goose chase for Kim Possible to look out for. Do you really think there's an underground lab in Nevada?" Drakken says resting his arms behind his head.
"Area 51?" Shego answers.
"Precis-... Well, we would get shot on site if we did that. The real lab we're going to raid is located in South Dakota"
"South Dakota?"
"That's right."
"So, why don't we go there now?"
"Well Shego, it won't be smart to go there now, we have to be patient and organise a planned attack, so we can obtain that top secret disc. Kim Possible by now is thinking that we're going to go to Nevada and obtain that disc from a lab. It's called reverse psychology." Drakken says proudly at his plan.
"That... sounds...like a very terrible plan...I love it!"
"Exactly Shego, I've been thinking more logical this summer with my evil plans."
"Sounds great doc. Where to now then?"
"Definitely not the Caribbean lair, Kim Possible will be staking and monitoring out the place all the time. We can go back their once we obtain the disc."
"That didn't answer my question." Shego says a bit annoyed.
"Oh right, well we are going to this new secret liar in..."
"WISCONSIN" Drakken to the normal point of view said normally, but when Shego heard it, it was in slow motion.
Shego's eyes lit up and wide upon hearing this, the name constantly rang in her ears, as she slams the breaks to the hovercraft, Drakken hits his head on the dashboard. The hovercraft is floating in mid-air. Her mind was processing all these thoughts. Almost like she had experienced PTSD or a War flashback.
"Breaking News"
"5 Survivors and 3 Missing."
"Shego!"
"They're alive! It's a miracle!"
"The city of Chicago..."
"Shego you can't just leave."
"Watch me!"
"Shego!?"
"You're different. Are you even human?"
"She has the same skin colour as the Grinch"
"Different! Different! Different! Different!"
"Shego?"
"Shego! I've been calling your name for the past minute. Why did you do that? You look like you saw a ghost?" Drakken rubs his sore head.
"Did you say... Wisconsin?" Shego says still staring at the surrounding clouds in front of her.
"Yes, why?"
"N-n-no particular reason doc." Shego says, as she want's Drakken to not push on why she slammed the brakes to his hovercraft.
Drakken shrugs and brushes off Shego's sudden weird behaviour.
"On to Wisconsin!" Drakken points into the distance.
"That's West." Shego says still her mind occupied.
Drakken points the other way
"That's East."
Drakken points the opposite way
"That's West again."
Drakken points another way
"That's South."
Drakken points the other direction.
"That's West for the third time."
Drakken points again, but Shego then points him to North. The right direction.
"Onto Wisconsin!"
Drakken was excited about his future plan. He wasn't done yet and still had some work to do, but will take some time and organisation before going to the lab. On the other hand Shego was still thinking about 'Wisconsin'. She closes her eyes for a few seconds thinking about one last memory that comes into her mind when she thinks about Wisconsin, she strongly holds back her tears.
'I love you Stephanie.'
Paul was in the city centre of Middleton playing Pokémon Go. He had completed a long day of school, soccer practice with the little ones and completing his homework. And now it's was time for a bit of leisure with Pokémon Go. Playing in a new environment was a new custom to Paul. The spawns or stops wasn't as dense as the Melbourne CBD, compared to here. But he wasn't complaining about it. It was actually pretty decent place to play. As long as he gets a chance to play, he would be happy which is all that matters.. Come to think of it, Middleton was like... A major city itself. A major hospital. A big shopping centre, or as they call it... a Mall. And a freaking NASA Space Centre! I thought these were located only in Houston? Paul's been pretty impressed how well developed and vibrant this small town in the middle of nowhere is. Pretty awesome for a big city like this nowhere near costal regions. Paul continued to play, he noticed a few things that he missed the first few times when walking around the city.
"Coming soon, Clubway!"
"Hmm, interesting name. Must be a sandwich joint."
Paul notices this medium size, ground floor building with black billboards surrounding it and a massive white background with big words on it. It was near the general hospital as well, maybe the owner done his homework about the lack of food shops near the local hospital?
He would have to wait for the opening of the shop. Hopefully it will be opening soon. Usually some councils can be a pain when building or opening a store or houses. It could take weeks, months or years depending on the state or council. It always about the cha-ching in the end unfortunately.
A few hours pass before it's almost 8PM and it's time to head back home. It was probably an hour away, until the sky was completely pitch black, he better hurry back, so he gets home at least safely. Paul was about 10 minutes away from his home. The lighting of the street lamps weren't that common. They were spaced out quite far from each other, walking 20 seconds in the pitch black streets every few hundred meters. This makes the streets a bit dangerous at night time.
"Well, look what we have here." A male voiced called out.
Spoke to fucking soon.
Paul turns around a notices a guy, with long black hair, similar frame to Paul, but looked a bit older than him, was leaning against the fence smoking a cigarette.
"Where you off to kid?"
"No place that concerns you." Paul says back as he continues to walk off.
"Is that so." A mysterious man says as he flicks his cigarette away.
Suddenly a big fat, strong, tall guy with blonde hair appears in front of Paul. He looked very intimating, but seemed a bit dull. Paul then tries to cross the street, but then another guy with brown hair crosses the street. He was pretty skinny, but was shorter than Paul. He was surrounding by 3 guys.
"What do you guys want?" Paul says, clearly pissed off now, that these 3 guys have ganged up on him.
The guy who smoked the cigarette comes closer to Paul and whips out a switchblade knife.
"We just want you're wallet and phone."
Paul was a bit scared but tried his best to stand his ground. He tried and remembered what his grandfather taught him. Paul eyes closed and rolled them almost to the back of his head, bringing back some memories of his childhood.
FLASHBACK to 2014
A younger version of Paul was in this massive backyard, on this large piece of land, which consisted of an old white-weatherboard house. It was similar to a farm, but it wasn't in the middle of nowhere. Unbelievably it was a merely 30 minute drive from the Melbourne CBD. A smart investment move.
Paul is running around the backyard playing with his football, as an old white man calls out of him.
("Paul") A voice calls out in Greek
("Yes Grandpa?") Paul says in to his grandfather back in Greek.
("Ready for your boxing training?") A old white haired man, with a grey moustache says to his grandson
("Yes.) I'm ready (Grandpa") Paul says Half in English and Greek.
Paul and his grandpa where practicing boxing outside in the yard. His grandfather used to box back in Greece in the 60s, before he left Greece to immigrate to Australia with his wife and would both eventually raise 3 wonderful kids. And be the potentially grandfather of tjree beautiful grandchildren. Paul, Gwen and Gwyneth. Throughout his life, he would have to work a few jobs to support his family. He was also a religious man, attending church every Sunday.
Paul was wearing large red gloves as his grandfather was holding the support from the punching bag pole, to ensure it doesn't fall onto the ground or on top of the young boy.
He then practices his reach and dodging skills on a large boxing handle system, made by his grandfather. He was a very handy man, when it came to inviting and innovating stuff. Especially with lack of resources. But the machine worked wonders.
Then Paul punches the hand pad his grandfather has attached to his hand, while holding a large stick in his other hand, swiping the ground Paul's stand on. After a few attempts his grandfather catches him as Paul trips and falls onto the ground. His grandfather helps him up. Paul wasn't injured at all by this. But is curious about something and decides to ask his grandfather a question.
("Grandpa?") Paul asks in Greek.
("Yes Paul?")
(Why do we have to defend ourselves?")
("Because in life... You must overcome the ones, that produce evil")
("Evil?") Paul repeated the word.
("Paul. In life we grow older and you get introduced to the real world one day. And that one day, you could be walking down the street and someone wants to steal your hard earned money. You have to be ready to defend yourself. You shouldn't inflict pain on those who don't deserve it though, you must defend yourself to protect yourself. And only use it responsibly. You understand?) His grandfather said. He wasn't a man with much English words within his vocabulary, but he could speak broken English. Paul could understand most Greek words, but despite him being young, he couldn't speak a lot of Greek.
("Yes.) I understand (Grandpa")
("Bravo. You ready?")
("Yes")
The both continue to train as Paul moves back to the punching bag, and he continues to punch the punching bag with quite strong force and rhythm. As his grandfather swipes a stick underneath him, but is quick enough to avoid falling onto the ground again Paul, repeatedly. His grandfather was smiling as he was impressed how he has improved and proven to be a great learner.
Paul reopened his eyes, what seemed like a few minutes, was in reality only a few seconds. He learnt so much about fighting and boxing from his grandfather. He wasn't a man with a strong vocabulary or a good education, as he came from a poor family. Back in Greece if you graduated High School you'd have a great job, but now these days, even if you graduate... a job can be hard to obtain, as long as you have the right skills, qualification and education to fit that job description. Even tertiary education creates a wider avenue and career path for people. But it requires money in the end. And that's everywhere in general. But his grandpa was a hard working man. That's why his dad gave him the same name as his father. Paul. And boy... does he really miss his grandpa a lot.
Paul slowly tightly cliched both of his fists. Thinking about his training and self defence.
"Come on! Give it up! Or you'll be bleeding all over the sidewalk." The guy with the knife speaks up.
Paul sternly shakes his head slowly with a serious look on his face. It was anger.
"This is your last warning! Give us your fucking stuff. NOW!"
Paul stood there with the same look. He knew that this guy was fibbing. By now he should have lunged at Paul with the knife. But if he's just threating to stab him, Paul knew he wouldn't have the guts to do it.
The big guy from behind starts talking, "Look man, just give us the money and-"
"Or what?" Paul says, standing up to the bigger guy out of the group of three.
"You going to stab me? Beat me to a pulp? I'm not scared of you clowns" Paul says.
"Don't push your luck pal." The third guy finally speaks up.
"My luck? (Laughs) Mikey here needs more luck then me. His shoes laces are untied." Paul says pointing to the big guy's shoes.
"Wait. My name's not M-OOF!"
The blonde guy never got to say his name as he was knocked out by a quick and strong left fisted punch from Paul. It was a great distraction, but Paul had to quickly focus his attention to the other two assailants around him.
"Sam! You little shit! You'll pay fo-WUAH!" The guy never finished his threat, as Paul punched him in his stomach.
"ENOUGH!" The black haired man yelled.
Paul stares at him. 1 on 1 now. Fair game. Why the fuck aren't the neighbours coming outside to check to this altercation happening right outside their homes? You'd think in a neighbourhood people would be coming out and seeing all the commotion.
"I got to say, you've got some quick hands, but I think this whole escapade has escalated far enough."
"That's probably the smartest thing that's come out of your mouth" Paul says, holding his stance with his leg fairly wide apart, but his hands clinched near his face.
"But you're forget one thing here. I've got a knife and you have nothing."
"Well... If you're so confident then. Why don't you come at me?"
"With pleasure" The man says with a sinister smile.
His lunges forward to stab Paul, but he dodges multiple times.
He tries to go even faster, but still nothing.
Now he has lost his patience and screams out in anger, trying to stab the teen around shoulder area, Paul quickly grabs his arm with his two hands and both wrestle. Paul trying his best to avoid getting stabbed as the man tries his best to out muscle the young teen.
"Give up kid! You're weak as shit."
"Well I hope you had milk for breakfast this morning."
"What's that got to d- CLINK... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-BOOF-AFG!"
Paul snapped the man's arm out of place. He had no choice. He would have had a stab wound on his body, it wouldn't be a pleasant welcoming in Middleton if he got stabbed and was a victim of a crime. He then headbutted him and punched near his kidney area, falling flat to the ground like a sack of potatoes, dropping his switchblade knife in the process.
Paul takes a look at the muggers, who are all on the floor in pain, all were unconscious. It was incredible how a young kid took down all three thugs without getting hurt. Paul was breathing a bit heavily at this altercation and with his adrenaline high up, he could run for hours. He then decides to do the reasonable thing.
He whips out his phone and dials emergency services number.
"Beepbeepbeep, we're sorry, but this phone number is currently out of service now pl-"
"What the fu-" Paul lifts up his phone in confusion realising one thing. He notices the caller ID.
"000"
"Oh, that make sense."
Paul quickly redials the correct emergency number this time. One of the assailants tries to get up, but is struggling big time as he's in pain. Paul notices this and sends a dashing kick to his abdomen, and quickly hits the ground again.
"911, what's you emergency?"
"Yes, I liked to report a crime. 3 guys in their early 20s approached me, one of them pulled a switchblade on me, demanding my wallet. In act of self defence, I managed to apprehend all three. But the are all injured."
"Okay sir, so you said that these guys tried to mug you?."
"Correct"
"These 3 guys are currently detained?"
Paul starred at the three bodies on the floor.
"More like, winded them for the time being." Paul said not entirely lying.
"Okay, we will send a cop car out to your location. What's the location?"
"I'm near the corner of... Maple Syrup Drive and..." Paul had to run to the corner to check street sign to find out the other name, "Tax Payers Avenue?" Paul says confused at the street name. Strange names for suburban streets.
"Okay sir, a cop car has been dispatched and on the way to your location."
"Thank you." Paul hanged up and stared at the three guys on the concrete pavement to ensure they don't get up or escape the crime scene. These guys would be going to jail or getting away scot free the next morning. These thugs deserve justice and a proper punishment.
Paul thought back on earlier today with Jim and Tim. He had to admit, that rocket they had was pretty cool, but someone could have been seriously hurt and they would have been responsible for causing that injury. Plus they had a matchbox set with them. Those two boys were troublemakers according to Harvey Milton, but both boys are probably misguided, that's all. Maybe even some problems at their household. Boys don't act like this for no reason, there's always a reason behind certain misbehaviour. Maybe they even have an older sibling. If it was a boy, they probably got along and maybe influneced them or wooed them on their shenanigans. Now if it was a girl, then different story. Hopefully these two boys learnt their lesson today and start behaving at school. It takes time to mature. Maybe even towards the end of high school.
10 Minutes Later
"So let me get this straight." The officer says holding a small notepad, "These 3 guys came up to you and they asked for your wallet and phone, you refused and you used self defence to beat them up?"
"Sir, with all due respect, I didn't want to have a stab wound on my body. Want could I have done? Let them stab me?" Paul says not happy as he could be in trouble for what he has done this late evening.
"Well, we've taken their knife as evidence. We won't charge you, but these guys will spend the night in jail."
"You're not going to charge them with attempted robbery?"
"Look, I've got to be honest, these guys will have to wait until Monday to see a judge, most likely they'll end up serving around 12-18 months. If they have a criminal record it might be even longer."
"Can I be guaranteed they won't get off with no charges."
"Look pal, you're lucky we aren't arresting you as well for assault. And with no witnesses around, it doesn't do you a favour."
"Arrest me a put me where? Juvenile hall?"
"(Laughs) You're funny man. Seriously don't push your luck. This might be your last warning."
"So you send underage teens to State Prison?"
"No we... Wait, you're not over 18?" The officer says with a surprised expression.
"Yep"
"How old are you then?"
"14"
The officer now was shocked, "You! A 14 year old kid, took down these 3 guys, that look nearly double your age."
"Yes, I-I don't know if people find that hard to believe sir."
"My I'm impressed, especially how you took down the big blondie fella over there."
"Duhhh, Mikey got a spikey on his head." The big blonde guy says, as he's in the backseat of the cop car with his two associates, sounding a bit dazed from Paul's left hook.
"I've had years of self defence practice from my grandfather."
"That's good to hear. Welp, I better take these guys in to our overnight holding facilty downtown. You have a good night sir."
"You too Officer..."
"Hobble"
"Hobble" Paul repeats waving back to the light brown dressed cop.
As Officer Hobble goes to his front seat, Paul stares at the Black haired teen in the cop car. Paul and the unknown named assilant stare at each other
"I'll get you one day. You'll see! Watch your back you dumb fuck!" The guy in the car thinks before sinisterly smiling at Paul again.
Paul has a serious look on his face. They both never turn away until the car goes off into dark, ending the stare down.
Paul checks his watch, '8:17'
"Geez I better get home"
Paul wanted to get home quickly and prepare some late dinner. People usually eat dinner around 5-6PM, but not this Greek.
Paul quickly headed towards home so he could eat, but also importantly hoping he wouldn't cause or get into anymore trouble again tonight. He notices a black shadow in front of him, most likely another person walking at this late hour. Must have gotten home from work. They were also carrying something as well, then the person in front sped up. Paul couldn't tell the gender due to the lack of street lamps nearby, but Paul was quite a quick walker, soon enough Paul caught up to the person and in the moment a street lamp is visible within the vicinity, the person before, was in fact a girl and the girl turned around prepared to attack this potential stalker, not caring about breaking whatever was in her shopping bag. Paul realised it was Kim when she positioned herself in her normal stance and he spoke up and tried his best to defend himself in the short moment.
"Woah woah, ease up Kim. I ain't a bad guy" Paul says standing his guard.
"(Gasp) Oh my gosh, I'-I'm sorry Paul. My hero instincts kicked in, I thought you were trying to mug me."
"I wouldn't think of doing that. Plus you'd probably beat me to a pulp if I did that." Paul says.
"You wanna see me try." Kim tried to banter back, but she realised that he might have taken her humour the wrong way.
"I-I-I mean, I wouldn't do that to my friend. It was just a joke."
"I know" Paul says smiling.
"Cool." Kim mumbles out.
"Here let me help you with those." Paul picks up Kim's shopping bags, they had the logo of 'Club Banana' and 'Zaza'. Kim takes them off Paul's hand gently.
"Thanks." Kim says quietly.
Both teens are quiet and stare at each other for a few seconds. Kim really wanted to continue to conversation, but she was a bit shy to continue. For a girl who takes down bad guys, she can't even speak to boys without sounding like a fool. Plus she had been avoiding him, well more like not talking to Paul for the last few days. She wanted to get to know him, but she knew that he was going to not be around forever. She would think that if they had a relationship it wouldn't work out. Kim decided to do the right thing in her mind.
"Well, it's getting a bit late. I should get home." Kim says to Paul as she wants to avoid as much confrontation as possible.
"Okay cool. You have a good weekend Kim."
"Same to you Paul." Kim says before she quickly heads off towards her home.
Paul was a bit saddened that the conversation didn't continue, in fact it looked like Kim she was nervous about something. Paul wanted to investigate this, but his heart said no. She might be upset at something or nervous that she's past her curfew? Paul was going to ask her right now.
Paul quickly walked up to Kim who had only travelled a few meters away, "Kim!" Kim didn't respond as Paul called out again. "Hey Kim!"
Kim turned around and said, "Yes?"
"Is everything alright Kim?" Paul asks in a concerned tone.
"Everything is peachy." Kim fake smiles, hiding her real feelings.
"Kim, you know that if you have anything troubling you, I'm always here to talk and give advice."
"I'm all good Paul, seriously." Kim says denying once again.
"Okay if you insist." Paul says, not to make Kim upset. Clearly something was up.
"Well... I better g-"
"Wait"
Kim pauses her movement
"I was wondering, if you wanted to hangout this week"
Kim was surprised at this, "You wanted to hangout with me this weekend?"
"Well, you're my friend, so sure. Why not" Paul shrugged his shoulders smiling.
Kim had to avoid the urge of sayin-
"Sure! I would love too. I-I mean... if it's okay with you." Kim says rubbing her arm, due to her nervousness.
"Of course it's okay with me!" Paul says smiling.
Kim smiles back. "Cool"
"I'll give you my phone number, so I can contact you." Paul says, as he gives Kim his phone number.
"Got it. Thanks Paul."
"No problem, now let's get you home."
"Oh, I'll be fine. It's only a short distance from here."
"Nonsense Kim. I insist." Paul reassures, wanting to make sure that Kim gets home safely, after what he dealt with just merely 15 minutes ago.
Kim gave in and decided to take Paul's offer. They both walked together quite slowly, Kim hoping to take as much time as possible to spend her time with Paul. Sadly it was only a few minute walk.
"Well this is my home." Kim says.
"Really? You're actually not that far from where I live."
"That's convenient" Kim says.
"Sure is, plus pretty close to school, the shops and the city centre." Paul says, about the location of his residence.
"I know."
They both stand in silence.
"Well I better go inside. Thanks for walking with me."
"No problem, I wanted to make sure you're safe. You don't know who's around at night."
"I'm sure I'll be fine. I take bad guys down for a living."
"You get paid to do that?"
"No, I'm just doing my duty. Free of charge. Plus it there's a bonus for car rides and lifts as favours when I need to get somewhere."
"That's pretty handy."
"Sure is. Well good night Paul." Kim says waving to the teen.
Paul waves back, "Good night, Kim Possible." Paul says smiling to the red haired teen. Kim playfully rolls her eyes at Paul's formal farewell. Paul walks back into the same direction he came from.
Kim enters her house, with her keys. She enters the house and sees her parents sitting on the family couch watching a film. They both see their daughter.
"Kimmie-Cub, how was school today?"
"Great dad. I went to the mall after school with my new friend called Monique. Unfortunately Drakken got away."
"That's a shame. Well there's always next time to catch him." Her father says, trying to keep her morality up about the villain getting away.
"Yeah I guess, but it's now the waiting game with him." Kim refers to Drakken that anytime now, he'll infiltrate that lab in Nevada.
"Well look on the bright side honey. That's great that you've made a new friend at school, but I hope you didn't spend all your money on one place."
"No mum, I was quite careful with my spending tonight. Don't want to spend all of it and Club Banana announces a new jacket in their stores."
"Well there is only a certain amount that you get from your allowance." Mrs. Possible states.
"I know. Well I'm going upstairs, night guys."
"Night Kimmie."
"Night Kimmie-Cub"
Both parents said at the same time, but James added Cub towards his sentence.
"I thought Kim had a functioning wardrobe full of clothes." James says to his wife.
"Girls these days love having a surplus of outfits. And they still have nothing to wear"
"Fair point." James says, before both of them focus back onto their film for the evening.
Jim and Tim were inside their shared room. Sitting on their bed reading instructions for their science experiments. Both of them dodged a major bullet today in regards to getting grounded and a school suspension. All thanks to a kid that they barley knew. The strange thing was both boys couldn't believe that this guy called 'Paul', who almost got hit by a rocket, due to their buffoonery and negligence they displayed on the field, fighting over a rocket. Both boys now know they're walking on a tight rope at the moment. At the moment both were talking about something that they both don't agree with.
"What are you talking about man? We got away with it today. Like I told you." Tim says to his brother defending his actions.
"Wait. So you don't care that we almost got in serious trouble today?"
"That's the point. We've got to plan for next week. I'm thinking we sho- HEY!" Jim snatches a set of drawings from his brother.
"Tim haven't you learnt anything today?"
"That George Washington had a hard time gathering victories and he eventually stringed a bunch of wins, which eventually became one of the founding fathers of America, then was the 1st President of the United States?" Tim says very quickly, folding his arms and clearly being a smart-aleck avoiding answering what Jim is clearly talking about.
Jim stares at him for a few seconds.
"Nice save there. I meant about... Paul."
"Paul? What's this got to do with him?" Tim plays dumb.
"Are you stupid man? He literally saved us."
"(Scoffs) Saved? Saved us from what?" Tim still refusing that he got saved.
"Are you really that self-centred."
"You're defending him over me? Your blood? Your very own brother?"
"To be fair Tim... We shot a flipping rocket at him!
"Whatever. I don't have to hear this from you."
"Fine! Be like that."
Both twins moved to their own designated spot and went to the furthest part of the room. They also tried to avoid eye contact.
Jim sat down on the floor and started to read his comic, as for his brother Tim, who take his plans back from his brother, sat down on a cusion on the floor little did he know...
"THPPTHTHPHHPH"
Both brothers stared at each other before Tim reaches under the pillow on the floor and pulls out a Whoopee cushion.
They both tried to contain their laughter, but couldn't resist. Fart jokes. The clinical and funniest jokes for young kids. Both were laughing so hard, they both suddenly stopped after looking at each for serveral seconds, before they stopped and looked at each other with serious expression, going back to what they were originally doing.
Just a few meters away in the same household, Kim Possible was lying on her bed, with her bags all over the floor. Little did she know her two twin brothers were fighting, but she wasn't at all concentrating or even acknowledging that. She couldn't stop thinking about her interaction with Paul before, she could tell he was sweating. Did he run home? Or did he see me and try to talk to me?
Errrrrrrrrrr so many confusing thoughts!
Kim hugged her pillow, before tossing it back in it's original place. She then sighed and reached out for her Pandaroo.
"What am I going to do?" Kim talks to her Pandaroo.
"I mean, I want to get to know him and all, but... I feel like it won't be worthwhile in the end."
Kim really liked Paul, but she knew what was at stake if she dated him and one day would leave the US to go back home. She didn't want to never see him again, after getting to know him and maybe date him one day. Long distance relationships almost never work in the end. Besides she's only having high hopes. Who's to say Paul likes her back? One day she might confess her feelings to him and him rejects her. Oh what a cruel world it is. She loses her best friend, she let Drakken get away, and now she can't even date this cute new boy at her school. The life of Kim Possible gets harder every living day. She thinks about this a lot recently. Avoiding Paul, it just seems rude and a bit disrespectful. She shouldn't be doing this. Instead, she should be welcoming him to her town. At least now, she has an opportunity to be friendly with him. As long as she doesn't fall in love with him or whatsoever. Who is she even kidding, that will never happen in a million years.
She hugs her Pandaroo, she was imagining it was her crush. He always smelled nice. He always puts on different fragrances everyday. She wondered if he was a great cuddler. She can always dream, can she. Plus he was so nice, kind and very considerate to others.
Never in her life, she has meet a boy like this before. Too bad it's only temporarily.
Life can be unfair at times. But she has to make the most of his presence. Even if it means going out on one date with him. That day... she can't wait for. That's if it were to happen.
Paul was eating some homemade pasta, pretty basic stuff, nothing advanced. His culinary skills weren't the best. On the other hand, his mum was a great home cook. He won't be having a homecooked meal for a while. What he could make was enough for him to survive.
After finishing his dinner, Paul decided to complete the rest of his homework. Remarkably, his homework completion time was impeccable and was now 2 weeks ahead of everyone else. He wanted to get his work done and out of the way, so he could spend time doing other things he enjoyed, like learning about history, researching, playing video games or fixing up his Pokémon Go account. A sudden vibration on the desk can be heard.
'MMMM' 'MMMM' MMMM'
Paul picks up his phone and checks the caller ID.
'Ron'
Paul smiles at this and picks up his call.
"Ron, buddy how are you?"
"Hey P.K. I'm good thanks. Did I wake you up?"
"Nope, it's only 11:41PM."
"Still 7 hours behind?"
"Yep."
"Cool, I've got to ask you a question P.K"
"Shoot man."
"Okay so, I've been doing some research and I've heard that Bueno Nacho can in fact sell my invention the 'Naco'. Cooperation thinks that for every Naco sold I get a nickel. Now they have conducted risk assessment on this and think this will definitely sell at their restaurants. My buddy Wade once told me-"
"Woah woah woah. Slow down there Ron Gonzales. Sorry to interrupt, but everything you said was so quick. I understood it all though."
"Sorry I was a bit excited when they got back to me in regards to my Naco inquiry."
"That's alright, anyway. I think you can do better than a nickel for every Naco sold."
"Better? How much more can we get?"
"How much does it cost to make one Naco?"
"Well, you got to buy a combo of nachos and a taco at any Bueno Nacho store. So one Taco costs 2.95 and a nachos with everything on it, is 5.95. So that's... 5... errr. 4...No that's not right. "
"Wanna get back to me on that?"
"Wait, I got it! it usually costs me 11.95, because I buy a three tacos."
"So how much are they selling each Naco then?"
"3.95"
"(Laughs) Ron, you could have said that in the beginning man."
"Oops. Sorry."
"No harm done."
"Well, how much should we ask for?"
"We? Ron man I'm doing this for you."
"..."
"Ron?"
"... You don't want a cut?"
"No man. Maybe a small percentage like 1% All the rest is yours. You created your own IP when you invented the Naco. Besides If you accept the currently deal. It will basically be 20% while you get 80%"
"No. You deserve a cut. You've done so much for me, in so little time."
"Ron I can assure yo-"
"Nosense. You will get a cut one day. That's a Ron promise."
Paul didn't know what to say. Not many people would do, what Ron would do in his position.
"I.. Don't know what to say...Thanks Ron. I appreciate it."
"No worries. Now what's your plan?"
"You got a pen and paper?"
"Got it. Go!"
"Okay, so they are selling your Naco for a fixed price of 3.95. That's US price, because they are an American Franchise. Right?"
"Yep"
"Now they currently got around 30,000 Stores around the world. Correct?"
"Aha. Oh... Actually they officially have more than 30,000 stores currently."
"Okay. So they are expanding, which is great news for you. Now you know McDonalds?"
"Yellow Logo with a big M on it. Can't miss it."
"Right! Now, how many Big Macs do you think they sell per year?"
"Uhh, I don't know... maybe 1,000?"
"1 Billion"
"Woah!"
"Woah indeed. Now according to current prices. USA sells Big Macs for around 5.50."
"Right"
"But it doesn't matter because you didn't invent that. But the point is that you're aren't even making 2% of what they are selling it for."
"Left."
"Now big cooperation's, like McDonalds, KFC or any other fast food chains, play hard ball. If we ask for a higher percentage, they won't sell it."
"They won't?"
"No, that's why we have to play it smart. If we ask too high, they won't accept it. Too low, we aren't squeezing every penny out of them. It's how business works. I don't want you to under paid royalty checks, that you could be getting more of."
"That seems fair. So how much do you think we should ask for?"
"I think 10% is a win-win situation."
"Better than 2%"
"Defintely. You'll be getting 5 times the amount you're are currently being offered. I can help you out with this deal if you want. We can set up a call conference and hopefully get this deal signed... So what do you say Ron?"
"YES!"
"Great. You seem excited."
"Huh? Oh yes I am. But I also beat Rufus in Tic-Tac-Toe. Checkmate buddy" Ron drew a horitzotal line, thus winning the game. Rufus throws his pen in frustration.
"... You di-.. yo... you didn't write any of this down, did you?"
"Oops. I... Got side-tracked. Sorry"
"... Oh well. Good thing I voice recorded it to text on my iPad." Paul says clicking a button off his iPad.
Paul and Ron continued to talk for another 30 minutes. Ron mentioned about him starting school later on this month and the sight seeing he has been with both of his parents. Ron said he's quite happy to spend more time with his mum and dad. Something that hasn't happened since he was 9 years old. Paul asked him, if he misses America and he said very much. Both teens concluded their conversation and prepared their goodbyes.
"Alright well thanks again Paul."
"No problem."
"Actually, can I ask you one last thing?"
"Sure. What is it?"
"I heard that the first king of England made a law that people had to be in their beds before 8PM. I'm guessing it's true, because it's in a book, so it has to be true. Except for the one time in Middle school, History class, the teacher put something on the board and I got sent to the office!."
"... Where did you hear that from?" Paul says actually fascinated by this fact.
"In the book you bought me" Ron says mentioning the England for Dummies guide he bought when the two teens meet.
Paul smiled and playfully rolled his eyes.
"Of course you did, I'm glad you're reading it."
"Not in public though."
"That's good."
"Well anyway, I better get my day started. My parents planned a trip for today, to visit a place called Rover?"
"Dover? As in White cliffs of Dover."
"Aww man, I thought it was the town that created the Range Rover!"
"(Laughs) Relax Ron, it's still a very popular landmark. Look it's getting a bit late here and you need to get ready. I'll talk to you soon. I'll send what I said about higher percentage of royalties."
"Thanks Paul. You take care."
"You too Ron."
Paul ends the phone call conversation with Ron. He's been messaging Ron quite a bit recently. Alongside his family and friends back at home of course. He has come to known Ron as a good friend recently, in such a short time. He might be a bit strange, but he has a very unique character. Something he hasn't seen in a person before. Plus he was a funny guy. It was unfortunate for his predicament that he left his home of America for the UK, due to parents work. Life at times can be unfair. Missing your friends and your hometown. Some others move countries or states every few years and can never develop a steady friendship, settle in school or parent's jobs. That's how life is at times, but it always progresses, so you have to be ready for whatever's in front of you.
Well tomorrow's another day. And tomorrow Paul is going to be hanging out with Kim.
Author Notes:
When Paul refers to the one of the thugs by Mikey, He was referring to the character from Recess. Michael Blumberg, don't get me wrong, this guy doesn't share the same traits as him, but Paul uses this as a distraction by calling him by this character.
