Chapter 5: Discussions and morning awakening

Even though the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates didn't attend breakfast that morning, it wasn't particularly quiet.

A heated discussion about what had happened last night between the two sleeping members had sparked off.

For the ship's cook, the Straw Hat Boy had dishonoured his Nami-swan the previous night, and probably against her will. Once again, Brook and Franky had countered this statement by saying that Nami didn't look like Luffy had forced her. It was clear to Usopp and Chopper that nothing had happened between the two. Again, the gunner could imagine that if something had happened, it had come from Nami. After all, Luffy was far too naïve for that.

"I don't think our captain is really that naive," Brook interjected.

"Exactly! I also suspect that Luffy was already actively involved," Franky said.

Sanji uttered a distressed sound. But he was ignored by his friends.

"I'm happy for the kid, anyway, if he got his own reward last night," the cyborg indulged him.

"But does it have to be with cute Nami?" whined Sanji. "Couldn't he have picked someone in his league. Big Mom, perhaps?"

The blond ship's cook's statement triggered a general disgusted reaction in the Straw Hat Crew. Even among the two members Robin and Zorro, who until then had excluded themselves from this discussion.

"Sanji! That's really disgusting! Big Mom and Luffy! Ew!", Usopp voiced the others' thoughts. "I don't care! Just not someone like Nami!" said Sanji flippantly.

Breakfast time passed and lunch time too, slowly the day drifted into the afternoon. The Straw Hat Boy and the Navigator didn't show themselves during the whole time. The exchange of opinions about them died down as time passed and by the afternoon it had faded away completely. Only the cook was still sulking at the cooker. Something that the crew members found regrettable about his cooking that day.

Little by little, the two missing members of the Straw Hat Crew woke up from their long, restful sleep. In their waking phase, the two didn't miss out and enjoyed their closeness to each other. They still snuggled up to each other and pampered each other with gentle caresses.

"Good morning," Nami greeted her best friend and looked into his sleepy eyes. "Morning," he replied and pressed the orange-haired girl closer to his body.

He then closed his eyes again. He noticed her scent, which smelled so sweetly of oranges. He began to stroke her waist with his fingers. This touch gave the young woman a pleasant shiver. Her heart began to pound wildly. She was surprised that her captain caused such a reaction in her and with such a simple touch. She gave him a gentle, slightly nervous smile.

The young man opened his eyes a little and saw her smile.

A smile that suddenly captivated him.

Luffy had always liked her smile.

Every time she smiled at him like that, this pleasant feeling came up inside him.

A feeling that he could never classify.

Actually, he had always been indifferent to what this feeling meant.

It was just there.

He liked that feeling and a smile also meant that his best friend was happy and that couldn't be wrong. And that morning, that feeling felt so much better!

He was lying half-naked with his best friend in her bed. Her already short nightdress had ridden up and now didn't even cover her belly. His fingers stroked over her body. He noticed how her panties covered so little of her skin. He was also surprised that she hadn't slapped him yet. After all, he was just running his fingers over the contour of her panties, on her buttock. Instead, she bit her lower lip in embarrassment and her dark brown eyes looked at him sheepishly. His heart started a marathon in his chest. There were so many new feelings inside him that he couldn't sort out.

It was remarkable how much their friendship had deepened in all that time. Nami's trust in her captain was boundless. That was probably the reason why she allowed his fingers to come so dangerously close to certain parts of her body. She knew Luffy and therefore knew that he had no perverse ulterior motives.

Luffy was the kind of man who let his instincts guide him, and the instincts of a nineteen-year-old teenager couldn't be that wrong in this situation, could they?

The captain of the Straw Hat Crew was totally overwhelmed by this situation. There were these new feelings in him that he couldn't sort out at all and yet he liked. They made this togetherness with Nami something special, that much he was aware of. But they also brought with them this desire and he couldn't cope with that at all. He had already got into situations with Nami in which his hormones controlled his body and he found it exceedingly difficult to escape.

What did this woman have to be so damn attractive for, too?

Inside him was the anxiety that the certain moment would come when he lost control of his body and he would give in to his dark desires.

The young man gently brushed a strand of hair from his friend's face.

The look Luffy directed at her made Nami melt.

She noticed herself how her cheek began to turn slightly red.

The purple colour only came when Luffy pulled her half onto his body. Her face was above his. The young navigator thought she also noticed a slight red glow on her captain's cheeks. She couldn't say for sure, though, because Luffy had changed position again. This time he was above her. But his eyes avoided her gaze.

A pitiful attempt to regain his attention was that the young woman stroked his back with her delicate fingers. She was unable to regain eye contact. Probably why her touch had elicited a pleasant moan from him. She also rolled back next to his body. The situation was very unpleasant for him. Nami tried to show him with further caresses that this moaning didn't bother her at all. This didn't make the situation any better for him.

He felt the blood rushing between his legs.

"What time is it anyway?" he rasped, trying to suppress his lust. Confused, she frowned, turning to her watch.

"It's now 3:38 pm!" she quipped in shock, "We've slept through most of the day."

"I missed twenty meals," Luffy had jumped out of bed all at once.

All at once the straw hat man was in control of his body again, but only for a brief moment. Nami started to giggle and the black-haired man was spellbound again.

"You've only got food on your mind as well." It was strange that her words so suddenly sent a stab through his heart.

And this assumption wasn't even wrong.

He really did think about eating a lot. But his friends meant much more to him and Nami should know that. After all, he hadn't been thinking about food at all the whole time he was with her.

"Luffy, are you OK?" the orange-haired girl inquired after her best friend looked at her with that weird look.

"Thank you," he grinned broadly at her.

Confused, she frowned.

This statement didn't answer her question in any way, besides there was no reason to thank her at all.

Luffy, however, seemed to see things a little differently.

He grinned even wider at her as he walked towards her. She definitely couldn't figure him out. His next action was a fitting example of how she liked to follow his train of thought. He had leaned over her and pressed a friendly kiss to her forehead.

"Well, for being there for me last night," he continued to look at her with a broad grin. Her face, however, was now turning burgundy.

Now it was she who avoided his gaze.

Shyly, she looked to the side.

"You're welcome," she stammered.

The conversation during the night, just like the cuddling in the morning, the tender kiss on the forehead showed that their friendship was reaching a new platonic level in their relationship.

He was still slightly bent over her. His heart was racing. Actually, he wanted to show her that she meant so much more to him than food. But for him, this friendly touch had intensified this new feeling.

"I should go get something to eat," he babbled, but didn't move away from her.

She turned her face to him and looked into his dark eyes. His heart skipped a beat. It made him damn horny that she was biting her lips so innocently.
