Itachi's POV
"Ooo maybe they'll like that green dinosaur!"
"Ow Ikumi," I complained rubbing my ears, "Keep it down a bit"
"Sorry," she replied, not sounding like she meant it.
"Well I think the dinosaur is nice," Mom said, trying to stop us from fighting. Well, by us, I mean Ikumi. We weren't training since I scraped my knee yesterday, so I told Ikumi that she could go without me but she waved me off. Something about training being fun only because she can show that she's better. Though who she's better than, I don't know. I beat her around ¾ of the times we spar. Of course, I'd never mention that to her. We had nothing to do, so mom took us shopping for our little sibling. We were going to go to a shop in the compound but then Ikumi wanted to go to this other shop. It turned out to be near the hokage's house and mom had an errand there. Ikumi enthusiastically knocked on the door when we got there. Auntie Kushina opened it for us.
"Hi Mikoto! Oh and you brought the kids with you! Itachi, Ikumi you guys want to see something cool? Ok lets let your mom talk to Minato. Come with me," she said gesturing to the kitchen. Mom nodded at us as she got something out from her purse. Ikumi practically skipped over to the kitchen. She loved Kushina. She admired her as a kunoichi along with our mother. I did too. And also, it helped that she usually gave us a treat to eat when we came over. "Don't tell your mom," she whispered, handing us each a stick of dango.
"What's Mom talking about?" I asked with some dango still in my mouth. I liked the three colored dumplings but Ikumi would always insist that the plain ones with sauce were better. She had no idea what she was talking about. Three color dango dumplings are awesome. Kushina shrugged, either not knowing the answer to my question or not telling. I assume it's the latter.
"Oh we were just talking about the Uchiha Police force," a voice said from the doorway to the kitchen.
"Uncle Minato!" Ikumi and I shouted in unison.
He smiled, "Hi guys!"
"What about the police force are you talking about Uncle Minato?" I asked.
"Well, there was a man from the council that wanted to remove funds. But don't worry, we took care of it. The ANBU doesn't need the extra money anyway, since we're mostly at peace."
Ikumi nodded solemnly, though I wasn't sure if she actually understood. "So those documents were about money, right? So those were contracts from the police force?"
The hokage nodded.
"But is there a reason for the man to want to remove funds? I get that ANBU is important but the police force focuses on things inside the village, and in my opinion, the village is what we should be concerned with more in a time of peace. What's the point in taking away money?"
"Your right," I agreed. "Whoever the man is, he probably has something up his sleeve. It would be the most likely reason since you said ANBU doesn't need funds."
"You kids don't have to worry about it," Minato said. "But if it makes you feel better, we have people looking into the person. Don't trouble yourself with this matter. Oh, by the way, how did you two like the dango?"
"Dango?" Mom asked. "Such a sweet tooth, what should I do with you two?" She asked, shaking her head.
