Chapter 3
It has been nearly 8 years since the attack on Konoha and since then the village has managed to recover since then with only a few problems in the years, Kumo coming over for peace talks which was a ruse that Minato and the village saw coming a mile away and immediately questioned the diplomats on what they were truely after which was them attempting to kidnap one of Konoha's infamous bloodlines more specifly the Byakugan from one of the Main Families that was stopped before it even began.
Hiashi current Clanhead finally saw just how limited the Caged Bird Seal was if only the Side Family has it and came before Minato and Jiraiya for help in making a new seal that everyone both the Main and Side families can use without the nasty control which both parties agreed it was borderline slavery and sent about working on the new seal as well as removing the old one.
While this was happening the distrust towards the Uchiha Clan dropped significantly to the point of any hostilities between them and the village was gone and instead replaced with trust that the Uchiha really do believe in Konoha and the people that live in it's walls the only downside of this was drunken rumors about the Uchiha releasing the fox to boost it's popularity but that was instantly disproving with other rumors of how Sharigan could have been stolen during the war on how some Uchiha's who died in it were badly killed or couldn't be found being proof.
Kakashi who was looked down upon for stealing the Sharigan by the Uchiha was asked to come to a meeting with the Clanhead Fugaku to discuss about the matter, Kakashi worrying about what was going to happen brought his sensei Minato along with him to be safe but found out it was for nothing because Fugaku decided to swallow his Uchiha pride and apologised to him saying Obito was what the Uchiha should've been and thanked him for continue his legacy and saying if he needs any help with the Sharigan that their doors will be opened for him if he needs it with this Kakashi was at a lost for words thanked them and left on good terms with them.
While this was happening in the Village in the Hokage Home that was now a Compound the twin Jinchurikis were being trained in Chakra, weapons and hand-to-hand to prepare them for their future careers both being told that they were Jinchurikis which at first scared them as they haven't met the fox yet but of heard of how their father stop the fox's rampage, they were of course angry at him for what he did but then their mother crouched down to them and told them what happened that night and that even being a Jinchuriki doesn't mean you can't have a family as she said being a mother was the best thing to ever happen to her and still is, hearing this both of them felt a need to protect there home and family decided to get in even more training but to have a day off ever now and then.
Naruto looking like his father with short blonde hair and blue eyes now wearing Anbu top and trousers with dark orange tiger stripes he wanted bright orange but Kushina and Minato told him not to wear anything that says 'Kill me' while Nasumi with her shoulder length red hair and purple eyes like her mother is wearing the same thing but with purple stripes instead were sparing with there mother with wooden Katanas trying to get blow in but failing miserably.
"Come sweetie your too open and Naruto your easy to read you's both need to team up if you want to land a hit on me"
As the twins were hearing this and nodding to each over and synchronising there attacks with each over but they ended up hitting each over instead.
"Dammit Naruto watch where your going"
"Watch where I'm going, what about you"
Hearing this and the two began fighting each over Kushina just sighed.
"Their still not getting it mom" Menma saying this who's dark red hair has changed in the years since his birth with his mixed colored eyes showing Purple in the center before extending outwards into blue was standing in the door frame wearing a light blue top with black trousers with a brown furry belt wrapped around his waist which was really his tail was reading a book called 'The Tale of the Utterly Gusty Shinobi' which he was nearly finished reading.
"What it's not like you can do any better you don't have any chakra and then you have drink your medicine daily least's you catch a cold and die"
"NARUTO that's not nice, it's not Menma fault you could've been born with the same illness now apologise"
Kushina saying this angrily caused Naruto think for moment.
"I'm sorry Menma"
Before coming over to apologise to him, instead Menma with a slight smile just closed his book and lightly bonked it on Narutos head.
"ouch"
"All is forgiven"
Saying this both brothers just stared at each over before smiling as Naruto went back in the room to continue training.
"Mom if you need me I'll be in the Libary okay"
"Okay sweetie have fun and remember to drink plenty okay"
Kushina saying this with a smile but internally is hating herself for lying to him while it was true that Menma can't use Chakra because his bodily didn't have any of the Chakra pathways or coils, but also that the so called 'medicine' he was drinking was actually just a vitamin drink, it was all in the 'Plan' to keep Menma safe and from being discovered he was too live in the Compound was told in his Fourth year that his immune system was failing and that the 'Medicine' he was taking was to boost his immune system and that he had to take it daily he was also told when his brother and sister were having there Chakras unlocked was that what ever illness weakened his immue system also ruined his chances of unlocking his Chakra and that he couldn't be a shinobi, while this worked it also broke Menma's heart that he couldn't be Shinobi which he wanted to be after the stories his parents told them, 'Blasted illness' Menma thinking the illness that robbed him of his dreams that even his Granny Tsunade couldn't fix as he walked to the libary before he heared voices coming from his fathers study room and went to investigate.
"Right Jiraiya that new Seal is finally taking care of"
"Good work with this new Seal kid it looks like eye liner nice place to hide it I'm pretty sure that Hiashi wouldn't mind it, he probably thinks that it would let look them more noble"
"I even got rid of that remote pain activater it will still hurt when it first applies but that's about it the main problem would now be to remove the old ones which wont be easy"
"Your telling me kid that design is about 100 years or so, it will be tough to remove"
"Maybe if we bring Kushina in to..."
Just before he finished that sentence an elder toad named 'Paa' dropped in.
"Minato my boy it's been a while how are you doing, kids okay what about Menma has started his training yet we can't wait to see the Saiyans abilities"
The toad spoke drawing Menma's attention has he was about to walk away 'Saiyan what's a Saiyan' Menma thinking on this.
"Oh hi Paa the kids are alright training going well, they haven't meet the fox yet but should be any moment now as for Menma"
Minato sighing as this was hard for him to say.
"Don't worry kid I got this, Paa we decided to go with a plan for Menma saying he's got illness that weaked his immune system and ruined his Chakra network and as well as telling him to hide his tail if goes out and drink those vitamin drinks daily as medicine"
Hearing this Menma was heart broken his parents and godparents have been lying to him
"Oh okay wait WHAT... are you insane, did you even read that book, did you even get to it"
Paa spoke with both shock and anger.
"No Paa we haven't read it I'm pretty sure it's still in the office underneath paperwork, we decied to with the Plan that Menma will remain on the Compound indefinitely and I know it's harsh but it's safer if people saw his tail they would immediately assume he's a 'Cursed Child' and either call for Banishment or death"
Menma hearing this couldn't take it any more and instead just walked to his room feeling immease anger and sadness at what he just heard.
"Fine you want to go down this path then so be it, I'll stop by your office to get the Book seeing it's being of no use to you is that okay"
Paa saying this showed he was not happy about this decision, Minato then brought up a piece a paper and began writing on it.
"He take this if Anbu try to stop you... I'm sorry Paa but this way is safer for everyone especially for Menma"
Paa taking the paper who nodded and left 'Maybe for you but not for us and certainly not for Menma, we made a promise to the Great Sage to watch over them and been failing badly but now this time' Paa thinking this decided to get the Book and give it to Menma and thinking of other ways to help the poor kid 'Maybe we should make a new contract with Menma one that Jiraiya nor Minato can interfere and get Menma to sign it, but for know let's get that book Menma deserves to know' as the began climbing up the building and entering the room he looked around a bit before saying.
"Any Anbu in this room I have a note from your Hokage to get a book on his desk so don't worry it's got nothing to do with Village security or it's secrets" Just then a single Anbu appeared with a weasel came out and took the note and looked over it and silently nodded.
"Do you need a hand in finding it" Weasel said.
"He said it was buried underneath paperwork... there under that pile I think"
Paa showing where his was pointing and Anbu moving the pile of papers of it.
"Official Saiyan Handbook hmmm never heard of it"
"Not surprising this book was writing by the Great Sage a thousand years ago, copies were made but destroyed during the Clan Wars the toads were gifted this and we're not sure if any copies survived"
Hearing this Weasel was little surprise at this "Really didn't know the Great Sage was an author"
"He wasn't the book is to help the Saiyans or as most people call them 'Cursed Children' should any be born in the Village but to my knowlegde there aren't any"
Hearing this weasel was shocked that this Book was detailed them and wondered what if the book was hiding something else about them but before that the toad grabbed the book and left 'Maybe I should check out Konoha libary there might a surviving copy' Weasel thinking this, who was actually Itachi Uchiha son of Fugaku eldest brother of three with youngest sister Satsuki being one of these 'Cursed Children' who had her tail removed to prevent the transformation from happening.
The Uchiha discovered this by accident when one of the own during the Clan Wars had their tailed removed in battle and hoping to transform at night to at least take out some of there enemies to show there Clansmens there worth to the Clan but couldn't even though he failed they at least knew the tail was key to transform and so decided that those born have their tails cut off and work as farmers or merchants when the Village was first formed they didn't tell anyone because no one asked them, Itachi thinking that book maybe of interest decided to wait for his shift to end before finding this book.
After an hour crying in his room with the door locked and curtains closed to hide in his room which was painted a warm blue with a a couple of chester draws, a book shelf filled to the brim with books with popular titles such as 'The Path of Hatred' which what happens when blinded with hatred to 'A gardeners guide' to even 'How to Mend Stitches', in the room was also his desk with History books about the Village and the Land of Fire and it's surrounding nations, as well as Math, Literature, Geography and Science Books to help Menma seeing as he couldn't go out as much, his folks wanted to give him a proper education to help the family even though it would be just the taxes, as well as a picture frame of his family showing Minato, Kushina, Kakashi holding the triplets with Jiraiya and two elder toads on his shoulder as well as Tsunade with katsuyu her left should with Shizune and Orochimaru with a Snake wrapped around him his folks told who the summons were.
Menma was crying into his pillow thinking how his parents lied to him 'How could they lie to me, am I really a monster, am I really one of those 'Cursed Children'' with he cried harder til he heard knocking from his door, before the knocking took place Paa came back and started looking over the place for Menma, checking the training room seeing the twins train hard 'Menma should be here with them training, their triplets after all' thinking this Paa looked disappointed at them for this, only gave him more of a reason to find Menma and went off looking around ignoring the study room where Minato and Jiraiya were still talking about removing the old Seal from Hyugas and decided to bring Kushina in on this once she finishes the kids training, the toad kept hoping along til he heard sounds of crying coming from a room to the left with Menmas name on it and knocked lightly.
"Who is it?" questioning Menma who wiped away the tears and some snot from his face.
"My name is Paa I'm one you fathers summons please open the door"
Hearing this Menma opened the door slowly looking around before looking down at his feet and recongising the toad from the photo of his family with a book in his hand opened the door fully and bowed politely.
"Oh nice to meet you Paa I'm Menma Namikaze it's an honor to meet you would you like to come in"
Menma saying this to be nice but just wanted to be left alone for now.
"Nice to see you too and how very polite of you to ask" Paa seeing the signs that Menma was crying hopped inside and told him to close the door.
"Menma what happend why are you crying" Paa saying this caused Menma to began crying a little.
"I just heard what dad said me, about the plan and how everyone lied to me about being ill an hour ago" Paa hearing this felt shocked
"You heard all that"
the toad said with a little angry in his voice and Menma just nodded "Well then wipe away your tears cause I got some good news for you"
Hearing this Menma cries stopped for moment "Good news?" Questioned Menma
"This book I'm giving you will give you answers that your parents didn't tell you because they didn't readi and were worried about people finding out about you"
Hearing this Menma perked up and reached for the book only for the toad not to let go.
"Menma promise me you will read it I give this book to your dad about 8 years ago after you were born and he just left on his under his paperwork so please pormise me"
The toad said with a serious look on his face Menma looking at it promised and the toad let go.
"I'll be back in a few days now remember to read it and if you have we can began to train you"
Hearing that part brought a smile to Menma face.
"Really you mean it" saying with a glee in his eyes
"Of course we toads have been looking for people just like you Menma and at long last we found you we can finally make a start on the promise we made to the Great Sage"
"You mean the Great Sage who taught ninjutsus"
"No actually he taught Ninshu the way of understanding, Ninjutsu is the way of destruction that came from Ninshu after people twisted it during the Clan Wars but the Great Sage did value peace rather than conflict"
With that the toad poof into a cloud of smoke leaving Menma alone with the book "Official Saiyan Handbook mmmm" saying this Menma began reading it.
After finishing the book Menma was both exicted that he had abilities just waiting to be unleashed and angry at his parents and godparents for lying to him his whole life.
"Menma dinner is ready"
Hearing his mom calling him he made his way to dining table in the kitchen with the rest of the family, siting in the front of the table was Minato his blonde hair and bright blue eyes for all to see to his left was Naruto looking a bit beat of his sparring session with Kushina to opposite of him was Nasumi looking the same but with cheerful smile Minato seeing the state of the two just chuckled.
"tough day was it"
Both kids looked at him with a 'really you think so' impression, Jiraiya took his place alongside Naruto and chuckled at the two before his gaze fell on Menma who came down and sat opposite with an angry look with red eyes 'Has he been crying and he look angry for some reason'
"Hai kid everything okay"
Jiraiya asked only to get a 'Dont you dare' look in response at that Jiraiya raised his hands in defeat Minato seeing this including the other two siblings asked Menma.
"Son is everything okay you look a angry about something and have you been crying?"
Minato asked worriedly with Kushina looking the same after handing out dinner to everyone before sitting down opposite Minato.
"Sweetie if anything is bothering you please let us now if it's about why your not in the Academy we've been through this with i'm sorry but because of your illness the Academy won't accept you"
Kushina saying this got no reponse from Menma who just started eating his dinner.
"Kid if something is bothering you have let us know or can't help you"
Jiraiya spoke and instead just got no response from Menma who just continued eating his dinner with an angry look
"Son you must too hungry to talk after dinner we go to the living meeting to see what's wrong okay"
Minato after saying this just got a single nod from him, while Naruto and Nasumi we're beginning to get worried both thinking 'He never did this before, whats wrong Menma' after dinner was done and everyone having cleaned themselves moved to the living in the opposite end of the kitchen with everyone taking a seat except Menma.
"Okay Sweetie wants troubling you" Kushina saying worriedly.
"Why" Menma saying this just gave everyone confused looks.
"Why what, Sweetie?" Kushina asked before Menma gave her angry glare.
"Why did you lie to me?"
"Lie about what?" Nasumi asked looking confused.
"Yes son, lie about what?"
"WHY DID YOU LIE TO ABOUT BEING SICK" Menma shouted Minato trying to look confused but didn't work.
"DON'T YOU DARE SAY YOU DON'T KNOW FATHER I HEARD WHAT YOU, JIRAIYA AND PAA SAID"
Menma shouting this, Kushina just looked puzzled.
"What do you mean Paa, the elder toad sweetie he didn't comeover"
"Oh crap... you heard that didn't you kid"
Jiraiya thinking back when Paa interrupted the pair talk about Hyuga Seal and discussing about Menma.
"Now kid I know your angry about what we did but it was for your own"
Jiraiya trying to calm Menma down while Kushina looked at Minato who was looking shocked
"Minato what happened"
"We talked abo..." but before he could contine.
"Oh just that I'm accidental heard them saying that I'm not sick and this medicine is really just a vitamin shake and that I'm a 'Cursed Child' oh just that"
Kushina hearing this was absolutely mortified that the plan they had for 8 years was falling apart.
"Cursed Child? you mean those demons that change into a giant rampaging ape if there's a full moon"
Minato looking at his daughter with more shock that She thought that they were demons and probably thinks her brother is one as well.
"Yes dear sister it appears I'm one of the those 'Cursed Children' and mom, dad, Jiraiya and probably even Granny Tsunade and big Sis Shizune had a plan to keep me in the Compound til I die of old age, is that the gist of it oh please tell me I'm wrong, tell me it's all in my head and this is a big dream I'm having oh please do tell me"
Menma asked with a calm voice but with anger in it, both adults looking at each over trying to think of a way to keeps things calm.
"Dad please say it isn't true that, please say Menma isn't one of those things"
"NARUtO... Menma is one of them are, yes they are born unable to use Chakra that's the truth but they are not demons and yes they do transform into a rampaging ape but only if they look at the full moon that's it, Menma you must understand if people found out what you are they would immediately demand either banishment or death it's the one La..."
"It's the one Law in which all Villages and Nations follow I know I read the book about Laws and found out about it and 'Cursed Children' a year ago, should've realised it back then with the tail being a big hint" Menma saying this with more calmness than anger.
"Menma sweetie we... we should told you about sooner rather later but please you must understand that I.. that I.." Kushina swallowing a gulp before continuing.
"That I had an older brother back before I came here before the fall of Uzushiogakure he was fifteen before he was discovered, he knew what he was and came up with this plan to hide what he was, it worked for a while but then he was caught and banished... he died a few weeks later by some bandits I didn't want that for you, I wanted to give you some measure of normal childhood it pained me to lie to you saying you were sick I hated myself for it but there was no other option before us I'm sorry for breaking your hopes and dreams about being a shinobi but to make sure no one finds out about we had to keep you in the Compound... most of the time pppllease ffoorgive me"
Tears started flowing down her cheek as she let out the dark and painful secret she's been keeping from Son who just stood there tears also flowing that his dream about being a shinobi fueled by the stories his parents have told him were never going to happen that the trust in his parents was gone and might never comeback, so with that Menma slowly left the room.
"I'm... I'm going to bed please don't disturb me" Menma spoke silently trying to keep the dam of tears from overtaking him and just left.
"Menma please cccoome bbacckk"
"Kushina let him go he needs some time to himself" Jiraiya spoke softly as Minato came to counsol his wife who was breaking did before him while both Naruto and Nasumi looked both visible shocked and saddened at what they had just heared.
Meanwhile in Konohas Libary Itachi was looking through the books trying to find out if there was another copy of the title he was looking for before a libarian came over asking if he needed any help.
"Yes I'm looking for a book called 'Official Saiyan Handbook' have you heard or seen it"
"Let me think for moment... actually I think there is one let me check for you"
As the libarian went to find the book with Itachi behind her after several minutes of finding it.
"Ah here we are... wow it looks old and worn for it saying handbook it's in the fiction side of the libary some must think of it as garbage, anyway let me help you check it out"
"Thank you for your assistance"
"Your welcome and come again"
Itachi after checking our the book just nodded and just left before the library closed 'it doesn't look much but it must be important if that toad wanted, he also said something about it being related to the 'Cursed Children' maybe this might help Satsuki but to be safe I should read it before giving it to her' thinking this as Itachi made his way home.
Back in the Hokage Compund things were looking dreary for the family after the horrible secret came out and everyone just deciding to go to bed, Jiraiya left feeling shamed for all the times that Menma wanted training from his parents even from the Toad Sage before being the first person to tell him that he couldn't because of some 'illness' it's was Kushina or Minato who wanted to tell him about his so called 'illness' and that the vitamin shakes he was taking since he was three was the 'medicine' keeping him alive, Menma was in depressed state after hearing this refused to leave his room for the week only leaving to go the bathroom the only thing to bring out of the slump he was something he never heard of and never had before it was a plate of Dango, he was looking at for a while before trying a bite and found himself loving the stuff and asking for more this managed to bring him out of his slump which was a relief to everyone afterwards things went back to normal with Menma hitting the books.
Jiraiya feeling down didn't notice where he was going and bumped into Tsunade.
"Eh? watch wher... Jiraiya... wants with you, you look like crap what happened"
"Oh Tsunade I guess it's a good thing I bumped into we need to talk somewhere private things have changed and I don't know if it's for the good or bad mostly bad"
Tsunade seeing Jiraiya being serious which was rare for him.
"Sure follow me, my home has privacy seals so we can talk and Shizune is still at the hostipal working" with that Jiraiya nodded.
After a while they arrived at the Senju Compound and entered activating the privacy seals "Right pervert start talking what got you so serious"
"Menma found about our horrible plan" Tsunade hearing this was shocked and went to grab a bottle of saki and two small cups.
"Well that didn't last long who blabbed"
"I did"
Jiraiya then went on to explain the conversion he had minato about the new seal and them being interrupted by Paa who was not happy about what they were doing to Menma, unaware that Menma was just outside the door listening in.
"Great just great, he's going to hate us for this you know" Jiraiya just nodded before taking another swig.
"Just be glad you didn't see his glare it reminded of the glare you gave me when I used to say that your chest was as flat as board before they became the beautiful mounds as they are now"
Tsunade hearing this knew of the glare, she was so angry when he said that and after the beating he got he never said anything about her chest again, both Tsunade and Jiraiya took another swig before they knew they had just finished two bottles aand near added other to it before the door opened revealing Shizune.
"Who put the privacy seal up, took me ten minutes to get it down before I can get in"
"Sorry Shizune that was me do you mind putting them back up for minute we need to talk"
Shizune seeing this and the empty bottles knew this was serious.
"Sure Sensei"
With the privacy up again Jiraiya told her what happened after a minute or two of explaining what happened Shizune went and grabbed th last bottle and drank the last of it "Well I guess that's it out know we need make sure no one else knows about it... I'm going to bed goodnight Tsunade, Jiraiya" Both nodded to her as she went to bed.
"Well I should be going too got alot to do and lot to clean up"
"Just take one of the spare rooms Jiraiya and no peeking okay" Tsunade offered.
"Thanks hime" Jiraiya nodded and went straight to one of the rooms leaving Tsunade alone "Guess I face the music in morning... I'm going to need more sake after that" with that Tsunade went to lock the place up and went to bed.
Elsewhere in the Uchiha Compound Itachi is in his bed about to read the book he got from the library "Well let's if you can shed some answers for me".
