I don't own any of this Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon.
That morning was unusually quite for Royal Woods, the only sounds came from the passing cars, the morning calls from birds, and a bicycle bell from the paperboy who passed by his routes throwing his papers which had: "DEADLY ASTEROID HEADING TOWARDS EARTH!" For the front page.
For those who didn't have a newspaper subscription, every news channel and website had the asteroid as the top story. People who haven't heard the news last night, were now in complete shock like those who had heard of it.
Lincoln with cereal in hand joined the table with the rest of his family. An unusual activity is currently happening, with the news of the approaching asteroid still freshly in their minds, the siblings were very scared making them for once very quiet for the first time in years.
They instead just sat there eating their food without looking at one another. As they ate, the ones who had their dad make their breakfast noticed that the food wasn't up to its usual taste, for it kinda tasted bland like plywood. They didn't say anything though for one they didn't care, second they can tell that their dad is just as shaken up as they were and they didn't want to stress him out further by saying his food is a bit bland.
Lincoln ate another spoonful of his cereal, as he chewed Lincoln glanced around the table where he clearly saw how scared his sisters were, he could even see Lucy was scared and she was usually hard to tell what emotion she was showing.
He couldn't blame his family for being scared, hell he was just as terrified. Lincoln prided himself as being the man with the plan, the one who can fix any problem the family has, okay not everytime he admitted, but still most of the time. But this was something he couldn't think of a plan to help his family, he was no Ace Savvy; if he was or some other superhero he could use his superpowers to move the asteroid out of the way towards mars instead.
But he wasn't one, he couldn't stop the rock that is scaring his family. In fact from what he knew nothing can seem to stop it on its travel towards Earth, it's not like this was some cartoon or fanfiction where something will randomly happen to deflect or destroy the asteroid. No, this was real life and that asteroid was going to impact the planet no matter what, or how many protested.
Sadness now filled his mind for he didn't know if they were even going to survive this. Lincoln also realized that his future is basically literally going to blow up in his face, his dream of becoming a comic book artist would be gone, in fact the more he thought about it the more he realised that everything he ever loved is going to be eradicated from the face of the Earth.
Things like video games, comic books, Sci-Fi movies, models, Flippees, comic cons, Dairyland, and Arrgh are going to be no more in about four days. This is really horrible along with unbelievable for just yesterday Lincoln was looking forward to the upcoming spring break, he wasn't expecting to worry about a end of the world scenario. If anything he wished that it was a zombie apocalypse for at least then he would've been prepared for that apocalypse.
Lincoln fought back tears, he didn't want to show his feelings to his sisters, he didn't want them to worry about him when they have their own feelings to think about. Lincoln turns his head where he laid eyes on Lisa who looked more tired than scared, she had her hand supporting her head as her eyes struggled to stay open.
"Have trouble sleeping last night Lisa?" He asked her, Lisa glanced up at her brother with her tired eyes, she lets out a yawn before answering him. "I didn't even do my required eight hours of sleep. I was much too busy analyzing the asteroid for important data."
"What's there to analyze? It's no brainier that's it's going to hit us." Lynn exclaimed while clenching her breakfast burrito in her hand. "Yeah sis, what's the point of studying it, if it going to kill us." Luna adds.
Lisa slowly turned to face the two as well as her other sisters who looked back at her. After letting out another yawn, Lisa spoke up for herself. "Well I thought given this rare event, it seemed like a good chance to examine it. The asteroid is rather impressive with how large and wide it is. It may not be the biggest one which we should consider ourselves lucky that it isn't, but still a decent size."
"Besides with my data I could calculate where the asteroid would impact, which is going to be very important in order to understand our chances of survival during the initial impact." She added just before letting out another yawn.
"Why would it matter where the giant rock is going to hit?" Leni asked.
"Well Leni, when the asteroid strikes. It's going to create a large explosion far more powerful than any nuclear weapon we have, safe to say that nothing is going to survive in the area of the impact, not even in my fallout shelter for if it hits here, the large creator that it'll creat will destroy my shelter." Lisa's siblings looked at her blankly, now with this new information that she gave them with her calm voice, they felt even more scared for they could be killed instantly if the asteroid struck here.
"Man Lisa, I don't know how you can be so calm?" Luan exclaimed. "Oh, don't get me wrong elder sister. I'm just as terrified of this horrible situation the planet is facing." Lisa pointed out.
"You don't seem like it." Lola stated with her arms crossed.
"That's because I'm keeping my emotions hidden in order for me to keep a clear mind."
"Is that healthy?" Leni asked with concern.
"I assure you I'm good." Lisa reassured.
The siblings didn't say anything else, instead they returned to eat their breakfast slowly with that new found fear that Lisa unintentionally created.
After that slow breakfast; Lincoln and his younger sisters got on the bus which had come a bit later than usual. Joining his friends at their usual spot, Lincoln immediately took noticed of the troubled looks on them, especially on poor Clyde who looked like he was going to faint.
"I taken you guys heard about the news." Lincoln exclaimed as he sat himself down next to Clyde. Liam nods, "Oh, darn tooting we did! Sorry for snapping Lincoln, but I'm just in shock."
"No biggie Liam I understand."
"Man, can't you guys believe it? In just four days were going to get obliterated. So much for my spring break plan." Rusty exclaimed with a sigh.
"Yeah" Zach agreed. "Don't think me going to Dairyland is going to happen now or ever again for that matter."
"My mom got really worried last night, I could hear her talking to my dad as I laid in bed." Stella chimed in.
"Same here, we even didn't get to finish Dream Boat last night." Lincoln added, suddenly Clyde lets out a loud breath of fear. "Oh man guys were doomed! We're going die by fire, or have to live in a feral society where surly I won't survive. If I do I'm going to become savage, not wear clothes, eat rats, live underground!"
"Clyde!" Lincoln interrupted, "Your spiraling!" Clyde used his coping mechanism to calm himself down. "Sorry, but I can't help it. This is just big, very big and I just don't know how to cope with this." Clyde lets out a sigh before continuing. "My dads didn't even say anything this morning. All they did was sit in the kitchen looking through the back window."
The four friends now go silent, they stayed silent throughout the rest of the bus ride, Stella glances out the window towards the clear blue sky. To think that just beyond that peaceful sky, a deadly missile is on its way.
At school; the news of the asteroid is all the talk throughout the halls and classrooms from both the students and teachers. Students talked with their friends with a lot showing the headlines on their phones with a picture of the asteroid.
Lincoln and his friends walked through the halls towards their lockers, they listened in on the conversations that rang through the school, they didn't have a choice since it was the only thing that everyone is talking about.
From the look of it the natural order of middle school seemed to have stopped on that morning: the bullies and their usual victims walk pass each other, the popular kids can be seen in close proximity of the unpopular kids, most of the teachers even ignored the volume of noise the students were making, even the cranky ones.
Getting to their lockers the four began to load in their things, the talks continued to echo through their ears. Rusty held his ears in annoyance from the sheer loudness. "Gosh! It's so loud in here!"
"What you say?" Liam asked.
Rusty placed his hands around his mouth. "I said it's so loud in here!"
"Oh, I thought you said that there's a cloud in a bear." Liam exclaimed.
"Why would I say that?"
"The noise made me misheard you, I mean it's louder than the chicken coop in here."
"I know, I think it's even louder than my house!" Lincoln shouted which was barely heard, even with his best shouting voice. The four proceeded to shut their lockers with their school books tugged into their arms, they were about to separate when a loud no, screamed through the chattering students.
Lincoln winced as he knew who's voice that NO belong to.
Lynn stood in front of the bulletin board, feeling that her world has just been smashed to pieces after a hit from a metal baseball bat. Fellow students that were close by, turned to her in surprise as they wondered what's gotten her so upset.
Lynn stood where she was, feelings began to mix within her, with sadness and rage that fought against each other, struggling to take hold of her. Lynn eventually fell to her knees, angry tears began to flow down her cheeks as she continued to look at the bulletin board with the dreadful piece of paper that mocked her with all its dreadful words.
"ALL SPORTS CANCELLED!"
"Due to the upcoming disaster, all sport practices and future games are now cancelled indefinitely."
"For more information, please go talk to office staff."
Signed by official school boards
Lynn couldn't believe it, first that space rock was announced, now her precious sports games are now no more. It was horrible for all things sports was her life, without it her life is meaningless.
In anger Lynn lets out another shout, then punched the floor with both of her fists which she lets out a scream as a fire of pain surged through her now red fists. The students who watched her wisely decided to keep their distance for seeing how mixed her emotions were in, there's no telling what she would do to someone who got too close.
Lynn stayed at her spot on the floor, tears fell next to her shaking fist, closed hands. Lynn didn't know how long she stayed like that, but when she finally did manage to compose herself a little bit, she glances around to noticed that everyone is gone and the halls had resumed their usual quiet.
Taking out her phone, Lynn is surprised that it is almost time for lunch. She had been here for about four hours, if she was still the hall monitor, she would've given a kid like herself a detention. The fact that she had been here for this long without anyone approaching her really surprised her, she wondered if her teachers noticed that she was even missing, if so did they informed her parents.
The school bell rings, Lynn stood there looking at it before looking down to her hands that were still slightly red and sore. She ignores the soreness though, instead she just walked off towards the cafeteria, where she hoped that a sub sandwich would make her feel a bit better.
The middle school wasn't the only one that had the news of the disaster talked through its halls. The high school and the elementary school is the same with some minor differences.
For the elementary school although much of their future club meetings and activities were cancelled as well. The younger grades such as the first graders and kindergartners had no idea why the older kids, teachers, and even their parents were so worried.
It was strange as they seemed so happy yesterday, they just didn't know why they now looked so scared. Seeing them so scared made them scared as well, as they hated seeing them like this.
At the high school; it's relatively the same as the middle school with the cancellations and the talks of their demise with couples comforting one another. Some of the seniors didn't even show up or just straight out left in the middle of the day. The world is going to end, what's the point of grades now? The seniors thought to themselves.
It wasn't just the schools though at the work places; co-workers talked amongst themselves, other workers just straight out quit with some leaving in style. Such as one who walked into her bosses office while he was out on a important phone call, and just trashed the place before leaving a rather nasty note on his desk, where he would find it after she was long gone.
Grocery stores and pharmacies were swamped with people getting whatever they can that's essential. Workers were overwhelmed, they do their best to do their jobs but weren't going very fast because of the large numbers of people. It got even more chaotic when most of the shelves were now bare from any items.
At Lynn's Table; Lynn is cooking as best as he can for his restaurant had unexpectedly gotten very busy. Apparently scouting for supplies had given people an appetite, others such as food lovers claimed that if they were going to die in a few days, they might as well have a last meal at every restaurant in town.
Taken by complete surprise by this sudden lunch rush, Lynn worked as fast as he can to complete everyone's orders, he may be troubled about what was coming, but he was damn if anyone left his restaurant with a bad taste of his food. He already felt guilty enough of the quality of food some of his kids gotten for breakfast, and he definitely wasn't going to pull that same mistake here.
Lynn just finished making a couple of his Lynn-burgers for table 4 & 5. "Sergio! Order up!" Lynn places the order on the window counter where his friend came and picked it up. "Lynn! We got four more who just came in!" He informed the Loud father.
Lynn gulped for he already felt overwhelmed, if he knew that the restaurant was going to get this busy, he would've hired more cooks for the future. If his restaurant had a future that is.
The day continues onwards, the pleasant, warm sunshine was now hidden by clouds that came in by mid-noon, a couple hours later rainfall came down by the time school was finally let out.
Lincoln and his friends came out of the building, moving as fast as they can towards the bus to get out of the rain. They were still wet when they entered, but at least they were dry for the moment. They didn't care however as they were just glad that school was finally over, as it was the most depressing day of school they ever attended.
Lincoln's friends weren't even taught anything as most of their teachers didn't seem to care. Same can't be said for Lincoln though, for although there was an apocalypse coming Mr. Bolhofner didn't care at all, he just continued on with his teachings and gave him along with Lincoln's other classmates homework.
The bus began to drive its usual route, while it did Lynn wasn't on it for she decided to run home in the rain. This was the best way for her to cool off some steam that she still had, plus this was the only thing that she thought she can do despite the cancellations of her presious sports games.
Lynn ran in a longer route to her house, she splashes through the puddles and mud, rain dripped on her face as if it was a windshield of a speeding car. With her speed Lynn manages to make it home just before her siblings bus came down the street. Lynn allowed herself to take in some pride for that had to be some kind of record, considering that she took a longer route.
After doing a brief victory dance, she goes into her house to get some cleaner clothes, for the ones she is wearing is all wet and covered in mud, something that Lana would approve of. After she went in her other siblings entered the house with the exception of Lana who instead went to go play in the mud, more time later at around 5:30, Lynn Sr. and Rita came home.
They met up around dinner at 6:10, where it was just as quiet as it was at breakfast where the only sounds were from silverware jingle and cups coming down on the table. After dinner they all just went into their rooms waiting for this day to end.
Lisa waited patiently for the cloud cover to clear up, it wasn't easy for according to the weather, the night is supposed to be overcast.
Lisa had waited for hours by tinkering with her chemicals or checking over the previous data on the computer, until at last the clouds partially cleared up, thus allowing Lisa to get in more data on the asteroid that is clearly closer than last night.
It was now three days until impact.
