Paring: Bella/Kol

Quote: "Being normal is vastly overrated."

"How exactly did this happen?" asked a very irritated Bella. "We left you for only one day. One day!"

She was irritated but also trying to hold back laughter. Rebekah, who was out with Bella for the day, didn`t bother with trying to hold back. She was laughing so hard that she fell on the floor and was barely holding herself up by the wall, as much as somebody who was almost fully on the floor could.

In short. Rebekah and Bella went to have some fun, it was time for their weekly girls day. They have been doing this ever since they met several hundred years ago. They met quite accidentally. Rebekah ran into Bella just as 'that sorry excuse of a vampire' was about to kill Bella. At first it was a bit rocky, but that lasted not even two full hours. They bonded and did almost everything together. Rebekah turned Bella and then they had loads of fun. However they wanted, wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted. They were free and it felt good. Until somebody was stupid enough to interrupt their fun. That somebody being Alice who was trying to drag Bella away to Voltera to save Edward from death, burning, turning to ash, whatever. That didn`t go over very well. Bella wanted them to feel what she did when they made her feel worthless and abandoned. So, she decided to play along. First, she sent a quick text to Rebekah to tell her what happened. They cooked up a plan that was immediately put into motion. Bella went to Voltera with Alice, all the while pretending to be human. When she was in front of the Volturi Alice told her to tell them the truth, how Edward loves her and how he will turn her into a vampire. Bella only said:

"You want me to tell them the truth? Fine. I will."

So she told the Volturi the truth. Every single detail, from the moment she met the Cullens to that particular moment in time. While she was talking Alice attacked her. Only she didn`t expect Bella to fight back or that she could. By the time she got to the end of her story everybody in the room was shocked. Even more so when she uttered:

"Now that you know the truth and not some fabricated story I would like to introduce you to my savior, sire and best friend, Rebekah Mikaelson."

When she finished her sentence Rebekah walked in like she owns the place. And what happened after that is, as they say, history.

Shortly after this ordeal Bella met Rebekah`s brothers. She liked one a wee bit more than others. Ok, a lot. She had, and still does, a crush on him. Wondering which one? Kol.

He wasn`t ready for commitment at the time thou. So Bella kept quiet about her feelings and Kol never noticed them. Which is so typical. Because, why would he notice and make everything easier for them both? He never showed interest in her so she thought he liked her well enough but not how she wanted him to. She was wrong in this way of thinking. He fell for her the first time he saw her. Cliché, I know, but true. He didn`t recognize what he was feeling as what it was until much later.

Which brings us to today.

Bella and Rebekah got home to….well chaos. The guys, yes all of the guys, were turned into some kind of half-animal and half-human thing? There were no words to describe this. Finn had panda ears and paws and was chewing on a bamboo stick. Where did he find a bamboo stick?! He was sitting cross-legged on the ground, next to an empty couch. Elijah had on rabbit ears, a fluffy rabbit tail and paws. He held a carrot in each and was sitting in a corner looking fearfully at Kol who had dog ears and a tail. He was on all fours on the floor and sniffing everything around him like he was looking for something. But the most shocking one was Klaus. You would think he would be a wolf or a dog, right? He is a part werewolf after all. Yeah, no. He had cat ears and a tail and was sprawled on the window sill soaking up the sun. How he fit there was anybody's guess.

During this whole mayhem Rebekah and Bella were fighting a losing battle. Rebekah already lost it and Bella was holding by the treads. She too lost it when suddenly all of the guys….poofed for a lack of a better word. They were surrounded by pinkish-purplish shimmering mist. When said mist cleared the guys were back to normal in exact same positions they were while being part-animals. They were confused to say the least and Bella finally lost it. She fell to the floor clutching her stomach while basically roaring in laughter.

They didn`t stay their normal selves for long. The same mist engulfed them again. When it settled again Bella and Rebekah were laughing even more.

The guys were dressed in, well, dresses. Ball gowns to be precise.

"That is really your color Kol! Periwinkle suits you!" Bella somehow said in between bouts of uncontrollable laughter.

"Oh yeah?"

He approached Bella without her noticing it. He took her hand and said:

"Amusing, am I? You like this, huh?"

Then he lowered his head and took her lips in a passionate kiss that took Bella`s breath away.

When they parted for air Kol said:

"Being normal is vastly overrated. I much prefer this."

Then he kissed her again.
