A/N : I know I marked this story as complete, but a sudden inspiration stuck, and I just started it again. But this is no promise for the story to continue, as again I have no plan or idea on how to take to story forward. If any of you have any ideas you would like me to add in the story, do share those in the reviews. And thanks for all the love guys! It was totally unexpected and overwhelming and am grateful. HP belongs to JK.
Tensions were a little high in the Gryffindor common room that evening. Hermione was a little apprehensive about initiating the conversations with her other year mates, and the others are keeping to themselves not wanting to start anything either. Harry and Ron have taken it on themselves to not leave their friend's side, and Hemione greatly appreciated it.
After a while, Harry tentatively began, "Hermione, give them some time, they will realize how brilliant friend you are. You can seem to be a little pushy and bossy, but we know it is because you have the best interests for us"
"Yes Mione, we might crib about it, but we do appreciate the things you do for us. You are our best friend"
Hemione beamed at them "Thanks guys, these words mean a lot. But I do agree with what the others said. I always held my faith in books, as they were my companions throughout my childhood other than my parents. My friends from school were also like me, and our time spent together was not spent in exploring ideas or debating each other. No one used to question my ideas, and I failed to realise how I am forcing these onto others. I do need to be a better listener and more open to other's ideas and possibilities. It was true that a few years before I didn't believe that magic was nothing more than sleight of hand and trickery, and now I know the truth. I owe them an apology". Hemione sighed and went to where the other Gryffindors from her year were sprawled, playing a game of gobstones. Ron and Harry followed her with barely concealing grins.
"Hi everyone", she began tentatively "I would like to apologize to all of you for my behaviour these past years. What you have said is the truth, and even though it hurt me at first, it was very much needed. I had a long look at my behaviour, and I agree with you that I have been bossy, pushy, closed minded and unfair to you. I know the reasons don't matter, and I can't change what happened, but I will strive to be a better friend if you let me." She gestured to the Harry and Ron and continued "We know we have been pretty closed up from the rest of you. We never intended it happen this way. We got caught up in our adventures, secrets, what should be shared and what not and we don't want it to continue, we want us to be friends, if you are all willing". Harry and Ron grinned and nodded at the others. The other students looked at each other and wordlessly gestured them to join their game, making space for the 3 of them.
Once the three settled, the others took turns in apologising to Hemione, and she smiled at their gesture. Dean turned towards Harry, "We are sorry Harry, for our behaviour in second year, when we came to know you can talk to snakes. We fell into the usual prejudices and forgot how good a person you are and how all these beliefs are silly."
"Also", Lavender added," for not believing when you said you didn't enter the tournament. We are supporting you, but I think we were just happy about supporting a Gryffindor. We didn't stop to think how this whole thing is for you, until the first task and seeing you practising in the middle of the night. We should have more faith in you". Harry, not expecting this, just nodded embarrassed. That night everyone went to bed feeling good and forming new and hopefully stronger friendships being formed.
A/N : This chapter seems like a lot of apologies , but I feel this sis something that happens in any group of friends, fights and apologies. Also, I won't try and replace Ron and Hermione. Harry, Ron and Hermione will be the close group of friends they are. But, in case, I take the story forward, the others might bring in a nice mix, and may be help as well. Again, I have vague ideas, and I don't want to copy ideas from other writers. Apologise for a short chapter, and I can't make any promises on the next chapter as of now.
I am not sure whether or not to introduce Sirius to Parvati or others. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments
Until then, stay safe guys, these are difficult times for everyone. Take care of yourselves, and your family, try and help if and when possible. It's a time for us all to be together and hope for a safer tomorrow.
