Mad was sulking, walking behind Nightmare with his arms crossed. He refuses to say a word. Nightmare just walked around the city quietly. The other bears that passed him watched and whispered. Nightmare didn't seem to care much, but Mad was uncomfortable.

They went to a park where Nightmare used to go. Upon reaching there, Nightmare stretches, taking a deep breath. He looks at Mad.

—Hey... Why don't you stretch out a little too? It will be good for you... —He says looking at Mad seriously. The wolf just keeps his arms crossed.

—I don't want to... And even if I wanted I wouldn't... —He says keeping his expression as serious and angry as possible. Nightmare just side smiles.

—Okay then... Grumpy... —He says in a mocking tone. Mad growls. He was going to say something but Nightmare keeps walking.

The two go together through the park. Mad feels a strange presence there but ignores it. Nightmare didn't seem to feel that presence. Mad spends the rest of the day with him. It soon starts to get dark. Nightmare decides to go home. He passes by the field where some youngsters played Frisbee. Mad sulks after him. He then overhears a conversation.

—Look man... I'm going to hit him right on the back of the head...

—This is crazy, man! What if he orders you to be arrested?

—Just pretend it was an accident! Get on the way and let the frisbee pass...

—OK...

Hearing this, Mad tries to decide if he was going to let the Frisbee hit Nightmare or if he was going to protect him. He makes the decision and quickly pushes Nightmare causing the two to fall on top of each other. The frisbee passes over them. Mad looked over his shoulder at the boys who had run away.

Mad snorts and looks back at Nightmare. They were dangerously close. Mad looks into Nightmare's eyes who ends up looking into Mad's golden eyes as well. They are stuck in this situation until Mad quickly stood up getting out of Nightmare.

—I'm sorry... That frisbee was going to hit you and I tried to avoid... —Mad explains as he dusted off his clothes and hair. Nightmare just gets up quiet.

He doesn't say anything. He just wipes the dust off his clothes and walks again. He was more serious than before. Mad gets a little tense about it. What if Nightmare ended up sending him to the dungeon for that? He just tries to stay calm and continues to follow Nightmare all the way to the castle. Once there, Nightmare stops. Mad sees his chance to try to explain himself.

—Look... About what happened in the park I...

—Just... Don't talk about it... With anyone... Forget it happened... —Nightmare said seriously without looking at Mad.

—OK... Sorry...

—You don't have to apologize... You just did your job...

Nightmare remained serious. He enters the castle and disappears between the corridors. Mad takes a deep breath and heads to the soldiers' quarters. Once there, he doesn't even care about the other soldiers there. He just goes to bed, lies down and thinks about what happened. Nightmare might as well have him arrested. He tries to get it out of his head. He tries to reframe his ideas until he ends up sleeping.

Nightmare was in his room. He was lying on the bed with his arms behind his head. He was thinking about what happened in the park. Mad really protected him from something. He didn't think it would happen.

His thoughts drift to the scene. Them two, very close, the strange smell of ash and dirt that came from the wolf... Those eyes... Golden and lit, looking right at him. Nightmare can't contain a smile. "He is kinda cute when he is ashamed..." He thinks. "But I don't think it would work... He already made it very clear that he hates me. Nothing more... But it would really be interesting... Who knows, I might not get something with that?"

Nightmare had formulated a new plan to get more information about Mad. The old game that was used long before it. With the plan in mind, Nightmare decides to rest. The next day would be the day to start implementing the plan.

It seems that Mad and Nightmare have a common idea... How will this happen? Is this just a game of interests for both? You will find out on the next chapters...
