Hey everyone, welcome to chapter 4. Hope you're all doing awesome and to my senior year comrades, we can do this! Anyway please enjoy!

Rachel tossed and turned, she felt like she was living inside of an oven. Somehow, ever since she began her first trimester, she seemed to feel as though the bedroom was a sauna. She had gone as far as to order an air conditioner for the room to keep her cold but all that did give poor Finn a bad cold. She opened her eyes, squinting as she unlocked her phone, the bright light making her wince.

Suddenly, a familiar wave of nausea hit her, and she made a b-line for the bathroom, making sure to keep the light dim so as not to wake Finn. This was by far her least favorite part of carrying a child. She had no control over it, she could be reading a Stephen King novel one minute then punishing the toilet the next. Honestly it had gotten to the point where she wasn't eating to avoid the morning sickness.

The sound of retching awoke the man, getting out of bed slowly he walked towards the bathroom watching his wife hurl her guts out. Even though he had seen this a few times before it still broke his heart to see his wife in pain.

Soon Rachel felt her hair raise and be pulled back. She didn't need to look behind her to know who it was. Finn was her knight in shining armor. He was always there for her, night or day. Once when she didn't get a part in a Broadway musical, he had offered to drive at top speed to New York and beat the living crap out of the guy until he changed his mind. He had stopped when Rachel informed him that it was a girl.

Once Rachel was done, she flushed and lay back on the bathtub. What hurt Finn was that ever since her symptoms had kicked in, she had become, and thus Finn had become, quite miserable. She had lost some color in her face. Honestly Finn wasn't sure her suffering was even worth having a child at all.

'' Feeling better now?'' Finn asked.

'' Not really. I've been throwing up every ten minutes. To be honest, I'm not sure where its even coming from. I'm not sure I have anything left in my system.''

'' You know I'd carry the thing if I could but ya know, I'm no seahorse.''

Rachel's mouth filled with air before she started laughing.

'' What's so funny.''

'' You, pregnant, honestly it's a brilliant visual.''

'' Aw, I missed my little house bully'' Finn said kneeling next to her.

'' So what time's our doctor's appointment?'' Finn asked.

'' Our doctor's appointment? I'm sorry since when do you have a fetus growing inside of you?''

'' I told you, I'd carry it if I could.''

Rachel stroked his cheek. '' I know my strange, tall, seahorse. And it's at 12:00.''

'' Perfect, try get some sleep ok?''

Finn's comment was met with a short snore.

Twelve hours later the pair found themselves at Josh Radnor memorial hospital. As neither of them had fond memories of Sue, they avoided her hospital at all costs.

They were in the waiting room of Dr. Aarav Raj. He came highly recommended and had for a long time been Rachel's gynecologist. He had been through the first two miscarriages and was sympathetic to the pair's situation.

The man had been born in Pakistan, but his parents left there in the early 1960s due to increased tensions between India and Pakistan. He had therefore grown up in America, more specifically Chicago Illinois.

After his acceptance to Harvard med school, the man had been headhunted by thousands of hospitals but had chosen to work in Lima as he wanted some semblance of a normal life.

Rachel looked around the room and saw something out the corner of her eye.

'' Finn? What're you reading?''

'' Nothing'' the man said, putting his reading material under his chair.

'' C'mon let me see'' Rachel pleaded.

'' No. It's embarrassing.''

'' Excuse me? I've seen you cry watching Bolt. I've seen everything I need to.''

Finn sighed. When would he learn that arguing with her was futile.

Finn handed her the reading material.

'' What to expect your first time round by Quinn Puckerman. Finn, you're reading a pregnancy book. I've never seen you read anything besides a restaurant menu.''

'' First off, ow. Secondly, I thought I should know what's gonna happen. I mean out of our friends, Quinn's the only one who's ever been pregnant before.''

'' Remember your niece?''

'' Oh yeah, sorry.''

Dr. Raj poked his head from around the door. '' Mr. and Mrs. Hudson, come on in.''

As the pair entered the room, Dr. Raj exchanged small talk with them.

'' So, word around the ward is that you're pregnant? Is this true or is this another prank like when those jerks in radiology put a skeleton in my office closet and labelled it '' Raj's girlfriend''?''

Finn tried badly to contain a laugh. Rachel, hit him lightly. '' No, Dr. Raj, I am pregnant.''

The pair sat down in front of his desk. The man had very little on it, save for his desktop, notepad, pen and a picture that said '' gynecologists are not just pervs with medical degrees.''

'' So, Rachel, any symptoms?'' he asked.

'' The usual, morning sickness, nausea, frequent urination, and the Yellowstone Caldera over here'' Rachel said pointing to her bump.

Dr. Raj wrote the symptoms down. '' Ok, anything else.''

'' Nope, not really.''

'' Ah excellent, so, you know the drill. Here's the paper shirt, if you want, myself and your husband will leave and you can call us back when the shirt's on.''

'' I'm good'' Finn said quickly.

Rachel rolled her eyes. '' I'm fine.'' The young woman put the paper shirt on and lay down on Dr. Raj's bed.

'' Alright, this might be a little cold, be warned.''

Rachel shuddered.

'' Babe are you ok?'' Finn asked.

'' Fine, its just that he wasn't lying when he said it was cold.''

Dr. Raj turned on his sonograph and waved the wand over her stomach.

Rachel and Finn held each other's hand, panic taking over them.

'' Well, Finn, I have news for you'' Dr. Raj said.

'' Yeah?'' Finn asked, sadness in his voice.

'' You'd better get to Party City, your child is fine and seems to be due in October.''

'' Yes!'' the pair yelled.

'' Congratulations you two. I wish my ex-wife was as kind to me as Rachel is to you Finn.''

'' Come on, she couldn't have been that bad'' Finn shrugged.

'' She watched the tape of our wedding backwards so she could pretend she was leaving'' Dr. Raj answered.

Finn stifled a laugh.

'' Excuse him Dr. Raj. May we have printout?''

'' Already ahead of you'' the doctor handed her a piece of paper.

Finn held the paper in his hand. '' I suddenly have the urge to frame this in the hall.''

'' No, we are not becoming the people with a sonogram on their wall. But we can put it on the fridge.''

'' You know what this is don't you, proof of our new life'' Finn smiled.

Aww, good ol' Finn. Thanks for reading everyone, stay safe, stay awesome and to my fellow southern hemisphere peeps. Stay warm.
