!Warning for mention of suicide!

Church never really understood how much he hated goodbyes, and he really didn't think that the lack of one could be just as

bad.

Yet still when he realized Tex was gone he still cried for hours. He still broke things all up and down the base. He still locked himself up in his room. He still cursed her in his loneliness. He then of course laid over in his bed and cried even more. From there he pondered simply killing himself.

Which brought him to the point he was in now. Nearly two weeks later, he was still locked up in his quarters, consumed by a growing stench as he lay in his bed simply wishing for the release of death but not having the balls to do it.

A part of him told him that he shouldn't. That wouldn't be what Tex wanted. In response Church burst out,

"Who the fuck cares what she would want! She left me!" Tears now freely streamed down his face.

Church just lay there for a while longer. The only sound was his short heaving sobs and the sound of the base heater keeping him cozy. He pondered simply turning it off and freezing himself. But he quickly squashed the thought along with his other suicidal fantasies.

It didn't feel right to be going all depressed because she left. SHE left HIM, he should be getting angry with her.

.

.

But he couldn't bring himself to do that. He knew she had a tumultuous past, she rarely ever talked of it after all, and when she did she made it abundantly clear she didn't want to go back to that life...but then for what reason did she leave? Church thought about it for a while before he remember something she had said to him,

.

.

'A quick fuck'

.

.

'Playing you for a quick fuck'

.

.

She used him…….no, no, no, that couldn't be the reason. There had to be something else.

Church tried to reason with his mind but his thoughts internally were screaming at him. How he could have been so foolish, it was all a lie, but that…that couldn't be true. They shared something together, she wouldn't throw that away! But she did. The night they spent together...was that just her getting her last bite before finding someone else?

Church tried to calm himself again but he continued to spiral in his thoughts.

She left you, she played you for a fool, she never liked you. Everything they shared, everything they had together...was it really all nothing to her? It didn't matter anymore, Tex was gone, so it was best to just...let her go.

The feeling hurt Church somewhere in his chest. But nonetheless he did what he could to try to leave her behind.

But it was near impossible. Every time he slept in his own bed he could still feel her clutched between his arms, still smell her scent on the pillows. When he tried to go elsewhere he was struck with the memories they shared together, every cliff they sat together on, every place they kissed, everywhere one of them talked or confided and the other listened. Church couldn't just forget her while he was here.

So after a week he out in his request of transfer. To 'somewhere anywhere that's not like here'. A day later a pelican came to pick him up.

Just as he was boarding it however, he spared one last glance backwards, to the little ridge where he and Tex first met. With one painful sigh he turned away and left. He wasn't coming back.

That's how he ended up in Bloodgulch. It wasn't anything like Sidewinder so that was good for him and his mental health. It did however host some interesting-

"CHURCH!"

...some interesting-

"CHHUUUUURRRCHH!"

Intersting-

"CHURCH!"

"OH MY FUCKING GOD TUCKER WHAT." Church whirled on his partner and newest 'friend'.

"What do you mean what? We're getting some new equipment soon!" Tucker smiled under his helmet, Church just glared at him,

"I'm going to kill you." Church stated,

"Now, now boys, let's keep it calm," the two turned to see their leader approaching, "We should be working together right?"

"Yes, Captain Florida." Both blue soldiers stated in unison, the captain just smiled.

"There we go. Now let's head back to base, I think we've done some good scouting for the day. Besides I have a feeling that things may yet get more interesting around here ey rookie Church?"

Church nodded in reply. Without further ado the trio returned to blue base.

Meanwhile, a black armored figure stood above the scene. The black soldier turned their view skyward above the canyon,

"I couldn't agree more Agent Florida," Tex spoke to no one in particular, "I couldn't agree more."
