THE WISE WOLF CHAPTER 5:

Quileute Language (Just in this Section)

Third Person POV:

Tonight was the night of the bonfire. Jake met Adi there, but forced his dad to get there early, so he would be there when Adi showed up. He had started setting up some of the logs when he heard Sam's car pull up with the food. He ran over there and met Adi.

"Are you excited to hear the stories?" Jake asked her.

"Yeah. I mean I've heard them before, but its different knowing they are true." She responded.

"Come on, I want you to meet my dad. I'll introduce you to the rest of the council when they get here." Jake told her.

They walked down to where the bonfire would be and approached Billy.

"Dad, this is Adira. Adi, this is my father, Chief Black." Jake said, introducing them.

"Its nice to meet you Adira. I remember you vaguely from when you were young. A smart thing you were." Billy spoke to Adi.

"Thank you Chief Black." She responded.

"Nonsense. Its Billy dear." Billy corrected her.

"Ok, thank you Billy. I'm happy to hear the legends again. Its exciting to here them, knowing they are true." She responded.

The rest of the pack had gotten here and finished setting up. Adi and Jake found a log to sit on together. When the rest of the council arrived Jake brought Adi up to them.

"Adi, this is Harry Clearwater and Quil Senior." Jake spoke to her.

"Its nice to meet you." Adi spoke to them in Quileute. "I'm Adira Uley, but you can call me Adi." She had a smile on her face.

Quil looked at her before speaking, "You speak Quileute dear?"

"Fluently" she responded.

"Impressive" He commented.

"Thank you." She said

"So, you are related to Sam?" Harry asked her.

"Yes, he is my older brother." She responded.

"Why have we never met you before?" He asked.

"Oh, its a long story, but I've been in New York for the past 8 years. Got lost in the forest when I was 8, and eventually made my way to New York."

"Ok, well I am glad you are back with your family dear." Harry said kindly.

"Thank you Mr. Clearwater."

Adi and Jake went back to their log. The elders begun telling the story of Taha Aki. Towards the end of it, Adi begun leaning on Jake, and he wrapped an arm around her. The elders continued with the story of the cold ones. Jake could feel Adi shiver during the story, and he pulled her in closer to him. He got a glare from Sam, but did not care. Finally, the elders moved on to the story of the third wife. Adi was still awake. She was leaning on Jake, but still listening Intensely.

Jake pulled Adi away from the Bonfire.

"So...the stories. Obviously, you know were shape shifters, but that was not the only thing from the stories that is true." Jake spoke.

"Another one is true. There is this thing that we do, as shape shifters. Its called imprinting. It's not like love at first sight, really. It's more like… gravity moves… suddenly. It's not the earth holding you here anymore, she does… You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that's a brother, a friend, or a lover, but no matter what, your her protector."

Adi looked at Jake. "You sound like you know the feeling." She spoke. She already knew she was Jake's imprint, but it was another thing she would let him tell her.

"Yeah, that night in the woods. I did not know what it was at the time, but I imprinted on you Adi." Jake said.

"Do you want this...imprint between us?" She asked him since she truly did not know how he felt.

"More than you know." Jake said without thinking. "It makes being a monster suck less."

"Your not a monster Jake. Trust me." Adi reassured him.

"Ok. I wanted to let you know. I did not want to keep secrets from you anymore."

"Thank you. I still have my secrets from you. I'm sorry, but I'm not ready to share them yet, but I will." Adi told him.

"Its ok, I understand. Share when you are ready." Jake told her. "So, the imprint. What do you want?"

"I just want to continue how we are. Not feel forced into anything. Slowly, let it happen. Is that ok?"

"Its perfect" he responded and hugged her.

Third Person POV:

Its now Monday, and Adi is starting at school.

"Hey Jake, you ready to go?" Adi asked Jake who had just finished inhaling his breakfast in the kitchen.

"Aren't you going to eat more?" He asked her, his voice laced with concern.

"Nope, I'm good. Orange juice, and half a slice of toast." She responded with a smile.

"You need to eat more Adi. Its not healthy."

"Nope. I'm fine trust me." She responded.

"We are talking about this later." He told her.

"Sure, sure" She said, taking Jake's line. "Can we leave now. I have to get my schedule."

"Sure, sure. Let's go."

They drove to school in the rabbit. Today was Jake's first day back since his shift. Having Adi here with him was making it easier for him to be back. Most of the pack was out for at least two weeks, or four in Paul's case, but Jake was allowed back after a little over a week since Sam decided he had enough control. Jake took Adi up to the office to get her schedule.

She had all of her classes with Jake and Embry. Jared and Paul were in their PE and Science class too. Everyone at the school had fourth period lunch together.

"Come on. We have English first. I'll show you your locker, then take you to class." Jake told her.

He showed her to her locker which was a few down from his. Then, He took her to English class. When they walked in, Jake sat down and Adi handed her schedule to the teacher.

"Very well. Class, we have a new student today. This is Adira Uley." She spoke and turned towards Adi while the class whispered about her being an Uley. "Why don't you introduce yourself to the class."

"Hi, I'm Adi. I used to live here when I was younger. Then, I lived in New york for eight years, but now I'm back." She spoke. She took a seat in the back next to Jake.

The class was reading a book. Adi had not learned about this book before and had no idea wat was going on. She could not read the book due to her dyslexia, so she just listened to the teacher talk and pretended to follow along.

After English she had biology. The class went the same as English except she could actually know what was going on since there was a lot of diagrams. Since she already knew the info she did not really pay attention, but doodled in her notebook instead. The same happened in Geometry. She finished the worksheet in 5 minutes and just doodled for the rest of class.

Even though school was boring, she did not mind getting to be normal for once. Well, as normal as a demigod hiding among humans and werewolves could be.

Then lunch came. She had not paid attention to any of the whispers during the day, but the second she walked in the cafeteria with Jake, everyone fell silent. Adi just rolled her eyes and went to sit down were Jared and Paul were sitting. The boys were already inhaling their food. Jake handed Adi an apple and told her to eat it. Eventually people stopped staring, but Adi could make out a few whispers regarding drugs, steroids, and a cult.

"You guys seriously let people think you are doing drugs or in a cult?" She asked the guys.

"Keeps people distanced. Its not like we hang out with non pack anyways." Jared explained to her.

Adi did not think it was fair, but it made sense. It was just pack, Kim, and her at the table, and technically Kim and her were both pack.

After lunch Adi had to go to Spanish. She was fluent already in Spanish, not that anyone knew that, but she could not read it and could half write it, so it was still a little struggle. It only took her around 15 minutes to finish the work sheet. It would have taken longer, but she decided to work on it with Jake, just so she did not have to read it. None of the guys knew of her dyslexia, and she did not really feel like telling them since they would pity her.

After Spanish was PE. They ran laps the whole time. Adi ran them with Jake and Embry. Paul ran alone in front of them, and Jared was somewhere in the middle running with Kim. The guys slowed down there speed, and with Adi's ability's, she had no trouble keeping up, so she just kept in pace with them.

Finally school ended and they went back to Emily's.

"Muffin?" She asked the guys.

The guys all grabbed one. Adi went and sat next to Jacob.

"Adi, Do you want a muffin?" Emily asked me.

"No thank you." Adi responded.

"I thought we decided you had to eat more." Jake said to Adi.

"No, you decided that. I am fine." I responded.

"How about you eat one muffin and I don't bother you again today." Jake countered.

"I will eat a quarter of one. Anymore and I will probably puke." Adi responded.

"Fine for today." He agreed, pleased she would eat any of one.

Third Person POV:

Its been two weeks since Adi started school. Adi was slowly eating more. She now ate a quarter of a muffin ever day after school, and a full piece of toast for breakfast. The pack still thought it was not enough, but she told them that its a lot for her and they should worry less. Bella had been around for the past two weeks a lot. When school was over she would hang out at Emily's. She bugged everyone in the pack especially Jake who had to deal with her most times.

Adi tried to make friends with her, but stopped trying after Bella told her, "Shut Up. I'm just waiting for Jake to get back so I can pull him away before you steal him again." Adi thought Bella was an ungrateful bitch and did not understand how hard the pack was working for her. Instead of yelling at Bella, she got up and went to help Emily cook that day. Bella did not even end up pulling Jake away as Jake went straight to her when he came inside from patrol before Bella could even see him.

Today the pack was having a beach day. Adi decided she would wear a bikini under her clothes just in case she decided to swim in her suit rather than clothes like normal, but she doubted she would decided that as she had scars and tattoos they would question.

At the beach the boys played football. Adi talked with Kim and Emily. She told them bits in pieces about New York. She did not want to lie to them, so she just left a lot out.

"How's school going." Emily asked her.

"Good. I'm passing everything except English and Spanish which is good." She responded.

"How are you already failing after two weeks?" Emily asked her nicely.

"I'm just not good at those classes." Adi said with a shrug.

"Jared's in a level of Spanish higher than you. I'm sure he could tutor you if you asked." Kim offered to her.

"He is busy with pack stuff. I'm not going to take up more of his time. Also, I'm fluent at Spanish, just bad at the class." Adi responded.

"How can you be fluent and failing." Kim asked her.

"I can speak it, but struggle reading and writing it."

"Oh makes some sense. Well if you decide you need help, force one of the guys to help you." Kim responded.

"Ok, will do." Adi responded with a smile.

Jake's POV:

After playing football with the guys, we went to ask the girls if they wanted to dive with us. Emily and Kim declined, but Adi quickly agreed.

When we reached the top of the cliff I watched Adi slip her shorts off. I had to work really hard to not stare at her ass. Then, she surprised us all by slipping her shirt off which she was adamant at keeping on last time. She was in a very sexy Black bikini.

When she took her shirt off we gasped. It suddenly made sense why she was self conscious about it. Running from her right hip to her left shoulder she had 3 long scars that looked similar to Emily's.

"Adi, what happened?" Sam asked her.

"Animal" She responded bluntly.

Looking at her now I could see she had a few smaller scars running up her arms and legs. She had a healed burn on her left calf, and multiple tattoos. There was a sun and moon tattoo on her left shoulder, a black skull on her right shoulder blade, and an owl with a book on her left rib. Not to mention the tattoo she had on her wrist still. I badly wanted to know what happed, but knew she would tell me when she was ready.

"You ready to jump?" I asked her.

"Always" she commented and took a leap off the cliff.

We jumped a few more times then went back down to where Emily and Kim were to eat. Afterwards we went back to Emily's to play video games. Jared and Embry had patrol.

"What do you think happened to her?" I asked Sam while Adi was in the kitchen with Emily.

"The scars look like Emily's." He said with a frown. "I don't know. She's 16 and has tattoos too."

"The tattoos were cool and the scar was badass." Paul said.

"The tattoos are cool, and the scars aren't that big of deal looks wise, its more of what happened to cause them." I told Paul.

"Wait scars?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, didn't you see?" I asked.

"No, what other scars are there?" He responded.

"There is what looks like a healed burn on her left calf. She has little marks on her arms and legs. They look like cuts."

"I did not even notice those." Sam responded.

"Yeah, that's why I asked because its more than an animal.
