"Maybe turning off the heater during the winter wasn't the best idea I've ever had." Lisa shivered lightly but constantly as she trudged her way into the living room in her blankets. Plural. A pair to keep her skinny white ass in one non-frostbitten piece. It had to have been, at least, below thirty inside. Fucking ridiculous. "What was I thinking?"

Going without feeling like her head was about to split open because of a bad question posed to her power at the wrong time had made her sloppy… stupid. Which is why she was up at almost seven in the morning to make coffee. Hot enough to melt the roof of her mouth, and black enough to tar someone's driveway. Like she 'liked' it.

There was nothing good about this to be found, but it woke her and warmed her like little else. That was a gift beyond measure for a working girl like her. Uh-huh.

Lisa grumbled, quietly, to herself as she stepped to the kitchen.

Seeing the blonde cape sitting at her table looking at his phone with two cups of steaming coffee and pastry she felt tears threatening to roll down her cheeks.

Waking up I looked around for a clock or anything to tell time with, finding nothing I headed to the kitchen. The sun just started rising, the orange tinge illuminating the sky.

Opening the fridge I found what I expected, nothing. It's been a very long time since I was human but I can recall humans not being able to function without food and coffee.

Fuck it.

Leaving the apartment I jumped off the railing ten stories down landing with a thud. Walking deeper into downtown I saw several businesses opening up for the day. I continued walking deeper until I arrived at a building with a good twenty stories with reinforced glass walls. On top was the logo a white oval with Med Hall engraved using red letters.

Walking in I greeted the receptionist with a smile while walking to the elevator.

Clicking the top floor as the elevator music played as the thing slowly made its way upstairs.

Stepping out and into the well furnished office I went to the door on the far fight revealing a small closet and a shower the size of locker room.

Taking a quick shower and getting dressed I took a glass from dad's personal bar and sat on the chair. Pressing 0 on his office phone I waited for someone to pick up.

"Mr. Anders?" A woman's voice asked.

"Faith, can you please send Alabaster up." I asked her while leaning back into a chair that was way to comfortable.

"... you want him sent up?"

"Yes, I had a day and I really don't feel like going to the basement. Tell Hookwolf to go with you if you don't feel comfortable."

"Yes sir, right away!" She hung up and I just waited until I heard them get into the elevator. When it finally dinged I just held my empty glass out until I heard the sound of metal grinding on metal, a hiss of pain and blood filling my cup.

"Thank you Brad."

"Fuck you." He growled

"What a tongue on you. I'll have to take care of it before you take Alabaster back to his home."

"Please." Alabaster, obviously, said and I just rose a brow.

"Please, what?"

"Just kill me, just kill me. I can't- I can't do this anymore please. I know you can just do it already!" He begged, the smell of salt made me turn towards him.

Holy shit he's actually crying.

Hookwolf was standing there, preparing himself, If the sound of metal in his mouth probably reinforcing himself.

"Now why would I do that?" I honestly ask him. "You're an endless supply of blood. Why risk the lives of others or steal blood bags like a common thief when I have an endless supply from you?" I told the naked and literally pure white man who was built like a bodybuilder.

His face did something and his face was unredible, his eyes dilating. He jumped for me hand held out aiming for my throat. He was so slow though, like really slow.

Putting down my untouched glass I walked towards him, grabbing his biceps I pulled them off, the snapping of bone and tearing of muscles echoed throughout the office. Grabbing him by his head with my right hand I let my fangs come out before tearing into his throat. Swallowing gulps of blood. His arms grew back as he started hitting me, his regeneration via time bullshit was useful but it was annoying having his throat heal so I had to tear open his throat again but it was annoying having to move him around.

Once I drank my fill I tossed him to Brad. "Take him back to the basement." I ordered while wiping my thumb checking for any blood on my lips.

Brad started dragging out the sobbing Alabaster before I remembered I had to disabling him.
"Brad wait." I called for him and he stopped. Walking to him I held the bottom of his jaw- and pulled.

The sound of metal screeching filled the room along with Brad's grunts turning into pain filled screams until their was a pop sound.

Letting go I smelled the blood dribbling onto the floor as he gasped for air with his dislocated jaw. The bone was visibly separated from the skull.

"You can go know." I walk back to the blood filled cup. Hearing his labored breathing and Alabaster's whimpers getting farther away I called out once more. "Don't forget to get someone to clean up the mess on the floor!"

The elevator opened and they stepped in before the door closed.

I sat there enjoying the glass before I decided it was time I left.

I made my way back to the lobby.

Maybe some freshly baked Éclairs?

Sipping my coffee I pushed the plate of steaming pastries towards the blonde wrapped in a cacophony of blankets.

Sitting in front of me she snatched a pastry and moaned as she bit into the cream filled heaven. Following suit I took a bite of the hot glazed donut with the sweet cream.

Watching amused as Lisa ate another two at a pace that I worried she would choke. Sliding her her coffee she took a few gulps before putting down her cup.

"Thanks for breakfast."

"No problem, thanks for dinner." I told her, she leaned closer to the steaming cup taking sips and glancing at me. This continued for a few minutes until she finished.

"So now that we're awake and fed I think we should discuss what you expect out of this relationship and what you can give me in return."

Looking bewildered she sat straight looking me over. "Well what I need you to be is a bodyguard, a spy, and someone that I can confide in."

"I see. So you just want protection from someone who can also get you information."

"Yup." She said popping the P, "pretty good deal all things considered. Good pay, pretty easy gig, and a cute girl to talk too."

"You bring up good points." I concede.

"I usually do."

"So what about Coil?" I asked her taking a sip of the bitter cafinated fluid in my cup. Glancing up I see her smirk die while her eyes widen.

"Don't worry Sarah Livsey. I have no contact with Thomas Calvert or his cohorts." I told her but she remained stiff as a board and looking to jump out the window.

Her heart matching machine gun fire. "Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you." I compelled once she was calm she looked scared but I didn't have to worry about her having a stroke.

"You're a Master." She whispered horror in her town.

"I'm a lot of things. Anyway lets get down to business. You want protection from Coil. I can give you that, I can literally bring you his head on a silver platter. After that I'll give you half his money."

She opens her mouth but I hold a hand out. "After that you'll work for me. You'll be given whatever you want within reason and you won't have to worry about anything or anyone coming for you. And in return all you have to do is work for me, and help me with a few things that don't involve hurting anyone... physically."

"There is nothing wrong with her." The tinker in blue power armor told the leader of the independent hero team.

Lady Photon rose a perfectly trimmed brow. "I was never that good with science but I do know growing a few feet and developing muscles that put most natural athletes to shame from, according to Glory Girl, a few seconds, is impossible. We know she came in contact with an unknown substance that was introduced via stepping on a bloody spike."

Armsmaster nods. "I understand what you're saying but we did every test imaginable, had several psychologists talk to her, questions that only she would know the answers too. She is Amalia Dallon. Her health may be superhuman by even cape standerds but she is herself. I'm more worried for her emotions."

"What do you mean? Was something wrong with the CT scan? Brandish asked.

"No. As mentioned Amy is in perfect health but I along with many of our staff that conducted the M/S protocol came to the conclusion that she should not be allowed to do healing for a good while."

"What conclusions?" Brandish questioned

"According to doctor Clifford's notes she's angry, showing sings of depression, and an inferiority complex."

"That's-"

"We understand." Lady Photon interrupted Brandish. "Well make sure that she gets the professional help she needs."

"Well that's great to hear, and while I'm glad she's going to get help I'm more concerned that she's healing so many civilians with those issues being made known to us."

"We understand, but this also means that she won't be allowed to heal any PRT, Protectorate, or Ward members." Brandish tells him.

"Yes that is for the best." Armsmaster replies the sarcasm going over his head.
