Chapter Five: The Adventure Starts
A little while ago, the adventure begins for the four. Sonic who was just trained, Tails the blacksmith, Knuckles who is a captain for the guards, which guard the Princess, known as Amy, in which Sonic recently found out is a powerful sorcerer.
"OK, so the roles for us are, we have the main adventurer, me, who is basic." Sonic started.
"Me who is a fighter, and can repair weapons being a blacksmith." Tails added.
"Me who is the most powerful fighter, being captain of the guards." Knuckles also added.
"And I am also a trained fighter, who is a sorcerer with magic. So I guess in that case, if any of you three get injured, I can act as a healer." Amy finished.
"Wait, you can do that as well?" Sonic asked.
"Well, of course. My magic is capable of a lot of things. Although it does have limitations, there's a few things that it can't be used for." Amy mentioned.
"Ah, well that's handy." Sonic smiled.
Suddenly, they all heard something nearby. It was the sound of roaring. They all stood their ground, and looked around to see where the sound was coming from. They could not see anything out of the ordinary however.
"What was that noise?" Knuckles wondered.
"I don't know, but that doesn't sound good!" Tails answered.
"Well, let's not let our guard down, regardless of what this is!" Sonic warned.
"I know exactly what that is, however. That sound comes from none other than an almighty..." Amy was cut off.
"DRAGOOOOOOOOOON!" Tails screamed in fear, as he pointed towards it.
Everyone turned their attention to what Tails was pointing at. And as what Tails screamed, it was indeed a fire breathing dragon. It was as big as an elephant, scales all over its skin, it was black with a red spine, and red wings, silver claws, and gold eyes.
"LOOK OUT!" Knuckles yelled, as he raised his shield.
"Sonic, raise your shield! It's fire resistant!" Tails yelled.
"Right!" Sonic replied, as he raised his.
Amy created an aura around her, which acted as a defence shield. The fire from the dragon shot out from the dragon's mouth with so much force, but luckily for the three with the shields, the shields were as fire resistant as Tails said they were.
"Holy cow! That was hot!" Sonic called.
"You're not wrong there! Dragons are the most ferocious creatures in this world!" Knuckles stated.
"Why did I create dragons to be in this game?" Sonic complained.
"So, what do we do now?" Amy called.
"There's only two ways to defeat a dragon. It's either hurt them so many times, that it'll retreat, or we kill them." Tails explained.
"Dragons are not so easy to harm however, let alone kill. So we REALLY need to figure something out, fast!" Knuckles demanded.
"Amy, is there anything your magics can do?" Sonic wondered.
"I'm sorry. For fighting, and harming anyone or anything, my magic doesn't work like that." Amy sadly mentioned.
Sonic thought long and hard at this point. He looked around to see what he could find. He saw something far ahead, and saw a canyon. He also saw that above the canyon, there were heavy boulders above them.
"Well, Amy, can you do things like put people, or creatures in a state of paralysis?" Sonic asked.
"I can do something like that, yes." Amy answered.
"Where are you going with this, Sonic?" Knuckles wondered.
"Well, I have a plan, risky I know, but it should work. Tails, Knuckles, you two keep that dragon distracted, until I give you the signal. Amy, you come with me to that canyon over there." Sonic started.
"Sonic, are you crazy?!" Knuckles snarled.
"Now's the time not to be reckless here!" Tails added.
"I know this sounds crazy, OK? But you guys are going to have to trust me with this! Just keep that dragon distracted, until I give you the signal. Amy, I need you with me for this. Over towards that canyon." Sonic told her.
"I'm not sure what you're planning, but alright." Amy stated.
"Right, Tails, let's go, now!" Knuckles told him.
"I'll be right there!" Tails replied.
Sonic and Amy made their way towards the canyon, while Tails and Knuckles made their way towards the dragon for their distraction. Tails and Knuckles had their swords out, and tried getting a few hits on the dragon. As Knuckles mentioned, the dragon's skin was really tough to pierce through.
"Darn it! This dragon is tougher than the ones I have fought before!" Knuckles snarled.
"You're telling me! I sure hope Sonic knows what he is doing!" Tails hoped.
The dragon then breathes fire out again, shoots towards Tails and Knuckles, who again use their shields to defend themselves from the flames. The flames were so forceful, a piece of the fire flew close by towards Sonic and Amy, though lucky for them, it flew past them, and it hit a tree, lighting that on fire.
Knuckles then managed to climb up a tree, while Tails was distracting the dragon from ground level. Knuckles waited for his moment. As the dragon turned to face Tails, and turned its back on Knuckles, Knuckles then attempted to jump towards the dragon, and landed on its back.
"Knuckles, what are you doing?!" Tails exclaimed in fear.
"Distracting as much as possible!" Knuckles yelled.
With Sonic and Amy, they made it towards the canyon, and looked on towards them. Sonic saw the burning tree, and he took out his bow, and an arrow out. He placed the arrow near the burning tree, and sets the arrow on fire.
"Alright, what's the plan here, Sonic?" Amy wondered.
"Well first of, I need to wait till the Dragon is facing me. Knuckles also needs to jump off the dragon." Sonic started.
"And then what?" Amy asked again.
"Once that dragon chases after me, as soon as it gets above this canyon, use your magic to paralyse it. Once it's paralysed, me, Tails and Knuckles will try and drop these heavy rocks on top on it." Sonic explained.
"I sure hope this will work." Amy hoped.
"So do I, Princess." Sonic agreed.
They waited for a while, and Knuckles still wasn't off the dragon. Sonic waited for over a minute now, and was getting very impatient.
"KNUCKLES, GET OFF THAT DRAGON, NOW!" Sonic yelled.
Knuckles heard Sonic yell, and he nodded in response.
"Alright!" Knuckles responded.
After that, Knuckles then jumps off the dragon, and lands on the ground. Will this plan work? Sonic hoped and prayed.
