Laughin' and a-runnin', hey-hey
Skippin' and a-jumpin'
In the misty morning fog with
Our, our hearts a-thumping and you

Brown-eyed girl
You, my brown-eyed girl

...

"Hey, Kens, come on, get up. Let's go for a run." Deeks shook his girlfriend awake, already dressed in workout gear, shoes on and everything. Kensi rolled over and looked at him, blinking.

"Whaddaya wanna go fur a run fur?" Kensi mumbled, brushing back wild hair from her face. She stretched and sat up. "You hate runs."

"I don't know, it's a nice morning, and I know you like them," Deeks trailed off, gaze landing on the window. Kensi followed it with a smile.

"Oh, it's foggy. You want to go outside."

Deeks grinned. He loved the fog. There was just something surreal about being in it that was oddly surreal.

"Yeah, we can go. I'll even wear my Wonder Woman sport bra," she said with a wink, sliding out of bed.

"Oh good, because I'm wearing my Superman underwear," Deeks quipped with a grin. Kensi snorted, disappearing into the bathroom, re-emerging a few minutes later clad in her as promised Wonder Woman sport bra and black athletic leggings, hair pulled back in a high ponytail..

"Let's go, Clark," she said, walking by him and tugging on the collar of his tank top.

"Right behind you, Diana," he shot back with a grin.

"See, isn't beautiful?" Deeks asked when they finally started their run in the early morning fog. Kensi laughed as she stretched her calves before starting down the trail.

"I guess so," Kensi said. "It's a little damp."

"It brings out your eyes," Deeks said, expression completely smitten.

"What?" Kensi smiled, confused, looking over at him. "The fog...brings out my eyes?"

"And it's also cool and wet and I like it," Deeks said, trying to change the subject, because he was the only one who understood what he meant, evidently.

Kensi laughed, shaking her head at his nonsense as she increased her pace a bit, encouraging Deeks to keep up.

"I'm serious though, your eyes are really pretty," he said as he did so, arms pumping at his sides.

"Well thank you," Kensi said with a smile, tips of her ears turning red at the compliment.

"You're welcome," Deeks said with a nod. "Can we call it quits, then? Maybe go sit by the water now? Or get bikes?"

Kensi glanced at him with a frown. "Seriously? We've barely gone a mile! I've got at least 7 miles left, I don't know what you want to do," Kensi said, laughing as Deeks sighed. "This was your idea, mister," she pointed out.

"Yeah, I know, and I'm starting to regret it," Deeks said, slowing down a little. "I could've just gone out and sat in the driveway, maybe meditated...or something...baby?"

"Not stopping, Deeks!" Kensi said as Deeks pounded to a halt, hands on his knees.

"Sunshine!" Deeks called. "Wait up!"

Kensi laughed, circling back to him.

"Come on, slowpoke, we haven't got all day!" Kensi exclaimed, trotting in little circles around him.

"Alright, alright, I'm coming! I might be dead by the time we're done, but I'm coming!" Deeks heaved a breath, running after Kensi as she disappeared into the fog.
