A/N :
Okay, I have a couple of important things to bring up before the chapter starts.
Firstly, my surgery is May 24 (Yay!)
The downside? I have officially been laid off by my job as of today ( it was supposed to be this Friday, April 30th, but apparently they didn't need me for the couple of days I worked this week.) So I have a bit of a problem.
For all of you that live in the US, you understand. For the people living outside of the US, just know that the medical system sucks here. Without my job, I can't pay for the medicine I need during the recovery period of three months. I know not everyone can donate, I understand, but if you could at least share my gofundme around twitter, facebook, tumblr-anywhere, I would be forever grateful! /u/zqm72mNow, back to the scheduled fic.
Not Beta-ed, all mistakes are mine!
Kakashi was the Hokage.
Yeah, it meant busy days and nights, but what made him different than the previous five was that he did take time to himself every once in a while. More often than not, he would be spending his free time with Sakura. Unfortunately for the both of them, he had to send her on a mission. Something about a disease running rampant in some village even he's never heard of until then. So instead of spending time with his beloved pinkette, Kakashi found himself in the bar where he normally went after a big mission before taking on Team 7. Normally, he would be by himself in the back corner of the bar, but of course a certain Uchiha just had to be there.
Kakashi never thought of Itachi as a drinker but here the man was, sitting across from him, casually sipping on a saucer of sake. The conversation was basically nonexistent, but there was one topic they would always bring up when they had the chance.
"So, Haruno-san is on a mission." Itachi commented in an as-a-matter-of-factly kind of tone.
"Hn." Kakashi hummed before taking a sip on his whiskey.
"That she is…" Why he wanted to ask, but Itachi took a deep breath, signaling he was about to continue.
"Normally, you aren't here by yourself. You have her somewhere in the bar with you, even if you two weren't sitting near each other."
Kakashi thought about it before nodding his head. He was trying to figure out where this conversation was heading.
"Why do you do that?" Itachi asked curiously, trying to figure out their relationship.
Kakashi sighed at the question, trying to come up with the words to explain it. He thought Itachi would understand the nature of their relationship, seeing as they have been a part of it a couple of times already, but it's hard to tell with the Uchiha. Sometimes he didn't understand social things like normal people would.
"Because I like watching her flirt with other people at times." He said simply, as if it made sense.
"Why?" The Uchiha asked, even more curious than before.
Kakashi hummed for a second, to think of the words that would make sense to the Uchiha.
"Have you ever just liked to watch someone? Not like stalking or anything, but simply liked to watch them? Watch how they interact with people?"
Itachi shook his head no, seemingly confused.
"Well, let's put it this way then. It's nice to watch Sakura flirt her way through the crowd, to charm people in her own way. It's fun to watch her tease other people before coming home to me." Kakashi explained as best he could.
"Isn't that a little…" Itachi stopped himself, trying to think of the word.
"Possessive?"
"I'm not possessive." Kakashi went to defend himself.
"You kind of are." Itachi pointed out.
"The last time all three of us did anything together, you glared at me when you weren't focused on her."
"I wouldn't glare at you. There wouldn't be any point to glare at you." Kakashi chuckled a little, denying it all.
"I know glaring at me doesn't really do anything, but it's as if you tried to scare me off despite asking me to be there. You're possessive."
"If I was possessive, then why would I invite you over for that?" Kakashi asked, wondering what Itachi's answer would be.
"I honestly do not know." Itachi shrugged.
"If it were me and Haruno-san, i wouldn't share her with anyone."
Kakashi held in a chuckle, not wanting to downplay what the Uchiha just said.
"Well… you aren't. And, no offense, but you wouldn't have had a chance. You're her teammate's brother. She wouldn't have overstepped-"
"-but you were her Sensei at one point. Is that it? You like the taboo behind it?" Itachi cut him off quickly.
"Maybe." the kage hummed, drinking more of his whiskey.
"There is no reason to be defensive right now of all times, I'm not judging you." Itachi made sure to say, hoping Kakashi wouldn't find anything they're talking about offensive.
Sighing, Kakashi leaned back into the booth's chair.
"Don't worry. I'm not offended. Though, I am a little surprised that you brought Sakura up. In public no less."
"No reason. Just something to talk about." Itachi said, downing the rest of his sake.
Kakashi nodded before he stood up, placing the ryo needed for both of their drinks on the table.
"She comes home from her mission in a week. Why don't you come over. For drinks."
Itachi nodded his head, his face emotionless as usual.
"I'll prove I'm not possessive by letting you have her for the night. And if I do get possessive, I'll let you pick whatever mission you want."
"You're using Haruno-san in a wager?" Itachi asked, confused once more.
"Don't worry. She enjoys your company." The white haired man winked.
"See you in a week."
AN: Thank you for reading! And thanks in advanced for the people who helped!
