Greetings! Starting now, each new chapter will have a little blip of past Harry. This is so that you lovely people will slowly start to understand what is actually happening in that little noggen of his and the history of this crossover world! Feel free to theorize on how Harry ended up as the Engineer.
"I am speaking"
'I am thinking'
I am having a conversation in my head and it's not because I'm crazy.
It had been some time since a call was last sent out to him. He felt the pull of someone who just wanted some help, a helping hand, someone to listen, to get the counsel off his back.
Blinking at the last one Harry shrugged 'Huh, I guess I'll give them a visit'.
He appeared in what looked like an old carpenter's workshop that had been turned into a laboratory of some sort. From the rock walls, Harry could tell that they were partly underground, the one source of natural light coming from a window facing west.
His caller was currently standing in front of a table with a large copper machine sitting on top of it. Suddenly the person screamed and flipped the whole table over, causing all the bits and bobs to crash and roll to different parts of the room.
Feeling something hit his foot, Harry looked down and grabbed the small trinket with his hands, magic already flowing out and telling him what it was and what its use had been.
'Huh, it's just a part of a child's toy' given said toys properties would allow the child to be transported to the location of its parents in case of emergencies. Much like Portkeys back in his day, but now achieved with technologies long since created. These kinds of leaps and bounds in Tech were curated from Mages and Humans working together, which looking back, pioneered the way for those peoples' children to become 'Space Lords'.
Looking up from the toy, Harry observed the man that was having an equivalent to an adult tantrum. His anger was evident as he continued to shout randomly and jam calloused hands into his silver locks, but the desperation to finish this project, to make something, was washing over Harry in waves. Maybe it was because of the intense emotions, or Harrys saving people tendencies, maybe it was the oath that he long ago took that pulled him to those who needed him.
There wasn't much thought to the consequences that his actions would cause. How helping this stranger would lead to a people driven by power and science, the fall and rise of civilizations, and his own permanent servitude. His only thoughts were of how long it had been since someone had the power to call him, how long it had been since he had a friend, and most importantly;
"Excuse me sir, but I might be able to help."
Chapter Five: She's dead.
"Alright, looks like you are with us till you fix her all up"
Harry shuffled along behind the group as they headed back towards the main deck. Rose and the Doctor both stating that they needed to head that way to take a look at his wrist, Even though med bay was in the complete opposite direction. Mickey was walking slightly behind him, probably in a act of keeping an eye on the 'suspicions alien'. Looking at the two people walking in front of him Harry finally asked one of his questions.
"So are they dating? Are you dating her?" glancing at the man behind him, Harry raised one of his eyebrows "Are all three of you dating?" Mickey spluttered and took the two steps that brought him to be walking with Harry, face becoming serious.
"No we are not all…but she's supposed to be my girlfriend" Harry realized he had asked a very touchy question and regretted even opening his mouth. "I mean look at them! It's like I'm not really here." Looking at the two it was clear that they were in their own little world recounting some past adventure.
It was common for Time Lords to pick up some entertainment while on their travels. Most claiming them to be trophies from other planets. Though it seemed this Time Lord treated his…um?
He calls them companions. The TARDIS chimed in hearing his confused thoughts. They can leave whenever and come with him to his meddling.
Interesting. Harry wondered if maybe this Time Lord would let him leave the TARDIS. Few did in the beginning but never let him stay longer than needed. Thinking back now that he has been awake for a bit, his time with the repair droids had been the first time out of a TARDIS since the Lords found out they could get rid of him by just tossing him out into the time vortex.
Thoughts cut short he hissed as a sharp pang of anger passed through his head via TARDIS. Clearly, she was upset at something. "OY! You're doing it too! You just forgot me" Mickey proclaimed looking down at the man next to him. "That's it, there's no bloody way I'm letting some alien steel my girlfriend!" looking determined he stomped off behind Rose and the Doctor, leaving Harry behind in the hallway.
What was that for! He got the image of a bear growling at a cougar that was near its cub, then the space vortex. You're angry for me? Why? Instead of a response, a door opened a few feet in front of him on the right side of the hallway. Getting a feeling of the need to help from the sentient tech around him, he walked up to the door frame and glanced in.
"It's one of your mainframe rooms" Walking further inside the small room he looked further in. "do you need something done here?" suddenly golden energy came from the side panels and wrapped around his wrist. Time sand, Time magic, his magic! Well, it's been cannibalized over time but it was still part of the original him.
His magic that mostly stayed dormant sprang to life and squeezed the other presence that wrapped around its master's arm, only to quickly realize that it too was part of its Master. Desperate to bring a part of itself back, Harry's magic swelled and started to consume the golden glow. Realizing that in an attempt to heal him the TARDIS had started to give some of her energy quite sloppily only to have his own magic react. Starting to pull it away, physically stumbling out of the room, he tried to reign in his wayward energy. The black-green tendrils continuing to climb up the gold.
At this point, His magic wanted some of itself back. Actually, it wanted all of it back and started to pull the energy directly from the core of the TARDIS. New panic that was not his own started to squeeze at his chest as more energy started to be drained. Lights began flickering and the amount of magical energy was causing a wind to stir up in the hallway.
"You got to cut it off!" he yelled "I can't control it at this point, it has been too long since I was given back any of my magic and it wants more. If we take any more you'll be-!" suddenly a large boom happened and the whole ship rocked to the side, flinging Harry a good way up the hallway. But finally, he could feel that the siphoning had stopped. "Oh god, I'm sorry!" he apologized after feeling the amount of energy in him. Getting up, Harry ran further down the hallway to the main deck to fix what was probably a few blown hyper plexes, only to be thrown down below the catwalk of the control center as they finally crash-landed onto something.
Sitting up from the bundle of wire he had landed on Harry can hear the Doctor calling out to his two companions, making sure that they were all right. "What happened?" Rose asked.
"The time vortex… it's gone." Harry could see from the grates that everyone has stood up by now, but a sinking pit made its self known in his stomach. "That's impossible, it's just gone!" Harry flinched as the air masks finally deployed and dropped down from the ceiling, causing one of the tubes he was near to hiss. 'I got to fix that' he thought to himself while crawling out, noting the lack of light around him only to stop when he heard the next statement from the Time Lord.
"She's dead, the TARDIS is dead"
"No!" Harry gasped out, causing the two on the catwalk to jump and turn to him.
"Harry!" Rose shouted. Reaching down she helped him the rest of the way to the edge and grabbing his forearms pulled him enough to crawl up top the platform. "How did you get down there?"
Giving a final huff he swung his legs over the edge "I was thrown from the west hallway entrance" as he stood, Rose turned back to the Doctor who was standing next to the control panel.
"But you can fix it, the Tardis"
"There's nothing to fix. She's perished" running his hand down one of the screens the Doctor looked up to the group "The last TARDIS in the universe, Extinct"
"What?" Harry questioned that pit in his stomach growing into an abyss. "Extinct? But that's impossible!" The Doctor looked at him and Harry flinched back from his wounded expression. This Time Lord actually believed that this was the last TARDIS.
"We can get help, ya?" Mickey piped up from the opposite side of the engine, moving towards the door.
"There is no one who could help. We fell through the void-"
'The Void' Harry thought. 'Did she do this on purpose because she was mad at me? Was that her original destination?'
"-into the darkness, the silent dimension" the door squeaked to their left as Mickey peeked out, only to let out a laugh.
"Otherwise known as London," he said as he jumped out of the ship and into the light.
"What!?" Rose and Doctor asked as they ran to the door as well. Harry glanced back into the dark control room before creeping toward the door. He can fix it, he will fix it, but for right now his curiosity of the outside world tempted him enough to walk as far as the threshold of the door.
"London, England, earth." Mickey was saying as he walked toward a park bench they were by. "In fact-" He grabbed a newspaper that was sitting on the bench "it's the 1st of February, this year. Not exactly far-flung, is it?"
"Just as you left it?" the Doctor asked as he looked around.
"Bang on"
"That including the zeppelins?" He said as he pointed up.
Harry was in a state of emotional turmoil however as this was being said. Standing at the door, he could see normal cars and the traditional red phone booths of London. A London that was so similar to his, that he forgot who and where he was for a moment and took a step down onto the grass. Walking the few feet to the bench, Harry gapped as he looked around him, only to meet up with the TARDIS's shield halfway to his destination.
"Oh, that's right." He said looking at the small dome that surrounded the blue police box "I haven't got permission to leave yet" Looking back to the street that the Doctor and his companions just walked down, a thought came into his head. "Wait!" turning around he jumped back into the ship "The shields are still active, your still in their girl aren't you?!"
Grabbing onto one of the railings Harry concentrated on the ship trying to access her Blueprints and model make. Considering that she was almost dead thanks to him and his greedy magic he hung tight to the idea that she was not too far gone.
Harry knew that even if she had died completely, that he could get the ship going again with the power he accidentally stole. However, the problem with that was the TARDIS interface that inhabited this ship would be new. No, memories or experience. Being so new it wouldn't be able to communicate for another 200 or so years, which would probably make its Time Lord pretty angry. Then again he could always grow another TARDIS.
Finding the location of some of her larger power cells, Harry started pulling away from the railing intent on making his way down, before one last scrap of information came filtering through him that caught his attention.

'She hasn't been back to Gallifrey since her maiden voyage?' which was odd considering most time lords came back multiple times a day after their many adventures/meddling. Also, the date that she was made was concerning since Harry was pretty sure he was back on Gallifrey last during the Gamma years. Not only was this TARDIS old but it seemed as though it had been removed from the registry and hasn't been in for program updates. This explained her inability to communicate sometimes in high-stress moments, and her general lack of knowledge, this also made him think of another question.
"How long was I away for this time?"
Next time, Harry gets to vomit on Mickey...or maybe Rickey.
Do you guys want the Blast from the past bits in the beginning or the end?
