Another chapter up. And this is the first chapter you guys were probably expecting for the longest.
The Eda and King segments with the trash slug won't be implemented in, because we all know what happens. And thus, focus more on Luz and the growth of her demonic powers as well as her interaction with the first wave of demons...and the witches of Hexide, students and staff alike.
Mission 4:
...I Was A Teenage Abomination...
...With Devil Arms...
...Later That Same Day...
"Well, Luz... did you ever in your life think you'd see something as breathtaking as this?," Eda asked with growing excitement as she nudged Luz's arm with her elbow while the witch apprentice stood next to her stunned and speechless.
"Breath-taking are the exact words I would describe this situation. The foul smell from the dead body there is about to take my breath away...for the wrong reasons...," Luz said within her head.
"I don't like this," Luz finally said as she sported an scared and unpleasant face while backing up slowly.
"Yes, it doesn't get much more inspiring than the trash slug. It makes a home, a life from what others have thrown by the wayside. Until, blam, it gets blasted by a wave one day and croaks from all the salt. And then we get to sell the stuff it ate," Eda.
"Please don't make me," Luz said in a begging tone.
"Aw, come on, Luz. It's not every day you get to go to the dump and pick apart a garbage carcass," King said with positive side of this situation.
"Ah, nuts to you both," Eda said as she used the pick-axe to start digging through the trash slug remains, making stuff crash from each strike.
"So, Eda...," Luz began and gets interrupted by something shattering. "What if we tried some new lessons for my apprenticeship? Like...," she began again only to get cut off by something else crashing onto the ground cutting her off further.
"Read ancient scrolls or mix together potions, or even, finding out more about my demonic powers‐," Luz finally said as Eda interrupted her yet again.
"Ugh. That sounds like a bunch of magic school stuff," Eda said with a distasteful groan.
"Wait. Is there a magic school here," Luz said, feeling interested. "Like, winding towers, cute uniforms, dark plots that threaten your life kind of magic school?
"Mm‐hmm. What's worse, they force you to learn magic the "proper" way," Eda groaned in disapproval. "But magic isn't proper. It's wild and unpredictable. And that's why it's so beautiful. I didn't finish school, and look at me!"
Seeing Eda surrounded by the trash and flies with carcass in the background was NOT a confidence builder.
"Yeah...Not the best piece of advice to motivate me, Eda," Luz deadpanned in her head with a mental frown.
"Who wouldn't envy where I am right now," Eda asked with a smile.
"Do you REALLY want me to answer that question...or was it rhetorical," Luz asked, out loud with a raised eyebrow as she looked to the ground with a frown.
"Uh... Hey, here's a lesson. A great witch is resourceful, like this," Eda said as she grabbed Luz's hand and put it in a green, tide pool. Luz pulls her hand out and saw a small brown ball covered in green slime occupying her within her palm.
"Oh, hey. Greasy slime ball," Luz said in a grossed tone.
"Use your slime ball wisely, young witch," Eda said in a mentor like tone. "Back at it! We'll hit the stink nodes first," Eda said proudly as Luz froze in disappointment.
"That's it! I'm outta here," Luz shouted in her head.
"Actually, if it's okay, I think I'll head home and look at pictures of animals that are still alive," Luz said as she lowly stepped back to avoid getting caught up in more trash than she needs at the moment.
"Love you, King. You little beach peach," Luz said as she rubs King's relaxing body as he giggles at the affection he's getting. "And keep that demon book handy, were probably going to need it later.
King: "Got it," King said with a thumbs up as Luz headed back in the direction of the Owl House.
"More for me, then," Eda said with a shrug as she went back into the corpse began to excavate everything of value within its remains.
...Soon...
"Ugh! If magic's all about digging for slime balls, maybe I don't have the stomach for it," Luz said to herself as she walked in a random direction to get away from her teacher for awhile.
"You can do it! You can," a distant girl's voice said nearby.
"Mysterious voice of encouragement," Luz said with curiosity and interest, thinking someone from high above was talking to her as she approached a bush. When, she moved the branches of the bush out of the way to see a figure in the distance.
"No! Little witch girl," Liz said in correction and surprise.
The little witch was a chubby girl who has light skin, pointed ears, green eyes, and short, turquoise-blue hair. She wears a pair of round glasses while wearing an unknown uniform. She was standing next to a wheelbarrow cart with a cauldron on it.
The Plant Enthusiast Witch:
WILLOW
"You can do it. Even if you get a bad grade, it's not a reflection of you as a witch. And my parents are right. There are better opportunities on this track. Now, get to school," the mystery girl said, accidentally stepping on a pretty flower. Oh, no! Oh, little friend! I'm sorry!"
The mysterious witch girl drew a forest green circle with her index finger over the crushed flower. Luz gasped as she sees the witch perform a magical spell that brings the plant back to its upright, healthy state before it got crushed underfoot.
That is until the witch girl's right ear twitched upon hearing something coming her way, it was another wheelbarrow cart and somebody was sitting on the cauldron while the wheelbarrow itself was moving...on its own?
"Willow! Wow. You're so unnoticeable I almost rolled into ya," the girl chuckled as if it was no big deal.
*This was Amity Blight, but you already knew that already. So, no introduction required. But still...*
The Abomination Witch Prodigy:
AMITY BLIGHT
"Why do I sense a bully situation about to happen," Luz asked in her head with hint of hate and her eyes narrowed slightly.
One thing that everyone hates is a bully. And now that Luz is superhuman, she can make any bully pay for their crimes, even if she didn't feel like it or they didn't deserve it, at first. Yet, most, if not, all bullies deserve what's coming to them. Even if its for the right reasons to make someone weaker than them stronger in the long run or some "tough love" from a close relative. Bullying is still bullying, if not, harassment, neglect or abuse onto said person or people.
Moving on...just like the flower after Willow accidentally stepped on it, the positive atmosphere died.
"Hi, Amity," Willow greeted as she stood up from the flower in a hateful and uninterested tone with her eyes slightly narrowing like she wasn't in the mood to talk to her.
"Uh, shouldn't you get to class early to prep your...," Amity began as she eyes Willow's Abomination project that spread out across the ground, rattling against the cauldron while making groaning and gasping sounds.
"Oh, Willow. You don't have anything to show, do you," Amity asked in a mocking tone.
"Witch drama," Luz gasped. "Combined with narcissistic bullying."
"This is why people call you "Half‐a‐Witch Willow," Amity sighs as her cauldron starts rattling.
"Oh, looks like someone wants to say something to you," she says with growing anticipation. "Abomination, rise."
"Amity's Abomination slowly rises out of the cauldron. A picture perfect specimen as a Abomination should be; gasping and groaning like a nearly mindless minion. Before it finally groans out, "You're a...star."
"Aw. It's like mine. But much smaller, and meaningless. As top student, it's my duty to tell you to keep at it. Even you could get a passing grade someday. Abomination, cower.
The Abomination groaned out the cowering motion so loud that it obscured the third party behind the bushes. Luz eyes slowly flared red for a quick moment as her hands wrapped firmly around the branches within the bush as she gripped them so hard, they snapped as she flexed her wrists.
"See you in class, superstar," Amity further mocks before leaving Willow behind to wallow in self pity.
"You stuck up bully of a bi-," Luz began in her head but was cut off by Willow talking to herself.
"Oh, see you in class, superstar," Willow repeats in a mocking tone as she rolls her eyes.
"I hate when she does that. I hate making abominations. I hate getting bad grades. Ugh! I can't stand this anymore," Willow shouts as her anger came out.
"Oh, boy," Luz mutters as the ground started shaking as if she was experiencing an earthquake.
With her rage being let out, her power began to erupt around her. Nature within the ground began to run rampant as many vines erupted around Willow as her eyes became bright spring green...as if she herself looked like she was possessed by something. One of the plant tentacles comes at the bush Luz was hiding behind and grabs a leg pulling her through the bush.
"Ahh," Luz screamed as the vine drags her right behind Willow. As the rumbling continued, Luz tried her hardest to stay calm and not fall over since the witch in front of her was making in hard to stand up with all the magic she was generating around her.
When Willow finally looked in Luz's direction, Willow's eyes were literally spring green with envy and hatred.
"Oh, please don't tell me I gotta fight you now? Because I don't want to make an new enemy out of a witch that I just witnessed get bullied right in front of me," Luz said in her head as she was ready to grab Rebellion, so she would be at the ready to start whacking weeds.
However, Willow's eyes went immediately back to normal as her face went to worry and concern as she saw the tangled up human in front of her.
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no! I'm so sorry," Willow said with worry as she unraveled the thorns that were wrap around Luz's leg.
"It's okay. The thorns only went through a few layers of skin," Luz said with a hint of sarcasm, trying to downplay her newly acquired wound, which would easily heal fast within the minute.
"What are you? Are you a half demon too? Maybe a demon incarnate? Or you're just a really, REALLY powerful witch that's good with plants," Luz asked herself question after question while looking over the witch in front of her. Vice-versa with Willow as she got a closer good look at Luz. More specifically, Luz's ears.
"Your ears. So... circly," Willow said in a dazed tone, putting her mind to work at her observation. Luz squeals and quickly covers her ears in fear.
"Uh, oh. Busted," Luz says in her head.
"You're human! This is astounding! A human on the Boiling Isles! How'd you get here? What are you doing here," Willow says with growing excitement as she kept walking around Luz and examine her features. School bells began ringing in the distance. The girls look in the direction of the bells.
"Uh, I'm sorry. I can't stay. I have to go disappoint my teacher. It was nice to meet you, human," Willow said with her depressed tone returning.
"Wait! I'm Luz. And you're Willow, right? What you did with that flower and those plants, it was... wow," Luz said as if she had her mind blown seeing plant magic in action for the first time.
"Thanks, but... I'm not even supposed to be doing plant magic. My parents put me in the abomination track at school," Willow said in disappointment.
"Hold up! Did she just say school," Luz asks herself as she lightly squeals in delight. "Like, magic school? That's so cool! I'm so jealous. I have a teacher, but her lessons are a bit nontraditional. I bet she wouldn't even let me enroll. But I wish I could spend one day there.
"I wish I could get a passing grade for once. Then people would stop calling me "Half‐a‐Witch Willow," Willow says with a groan.
"Hey, wait. I know how we can both get what we want. Make me your abomination. I'll get you a good grade, and you can get me into magic school. It's fiendishly clever," Luz said as she splashed the dark-purplish goop on her clothes and head.
"What?," Willow asked, not catching Luz's plan.
"I saw that girl's thing. It's just chunks of stuff that talks weird. I'm chunks of stuff, and I talk weird!," Luz said sporting a positive, yet creepy smile.
"That's true," Willow giggles with a smile. "Okay. It's a deal. Luz."
"This is a great plan," Luz says with a smile until Willow notices something.
"Oops. Abomination goo," Willow says as she drops her smile, knowing what would come next. They were stuck together by their hands, so they both pull on each other to get unstuck and they eventually do, but Luz slips and falls down into the entire puddle of Abomination goop, covering her further in purple goop.
"Great plan," Luz says with a sigh, while still laying on the ground as Willow smiles on the human's humorous antics.
...Soon...At The Nearby School of Magic...
"Welcome to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics. Remember to stay hidden, okay," Willow instructed as Luz squeals and giggles at her pipedream is starting to come true.
As Willow push her cart through the halls of Hexide, Luz took in the sights and made a pit stop at her locker to get some books,
Hmm," Willow said until someone bumps into her from the back. He was a young boy with brown skin and dark brown hair with lighter shades. Like all the witches and demons on the Boiling Isles, he has pointy ears. Apparently, when attending Hexside, Gus wears a grey tunic with a dark grey belt, cowl, and boots. The only difference between him and Willow when it came to the school's uniform was his sleeves and leggings were cyan, compared to Willow's purple.
The (Human-Obsessed) Illusionist Witch:
AUGUSTUS
He's a good friend of Willow and he was reading a...human magazine?
"Willow, you would not believe humans," Gus commented, his attention still focused on the magazine in his hands.
"Humans? Psh. I haven't seen any. What," Willow said in a nervous tone, eyeing her cauldron in slight fear as her voice began to slowly crack.
"Did you know that humans nail barbed wire to their kids' teeth? But why? Maybe to make them magnetic," Gus theorized with interest.
"Actually, it's to straighten our teeth out. But sometimes, for storing treats," Luz clarified within the cauldron, making Gus raise and eyebrow at Willow, when he heard that answer.
"Okay, Augustus. I'm gonna tell you something. But you have to be cool," Willow said to warn him.
"I can be spool," he quickly stammers out before he quickly corrected himself. "I mean, cool."
"Okay. Abomination, rise," Willow commanded at the cauldron.
Luz rises out of the cauldron with a moan as if she was a zombie. Slowly taking in the environment around her as if this was her first time being outside.
"Not bad," Willow said as Luz's first attempt. "But when you get out of the cauldron, walk as if you are having trouble standing or you're just tired. Like you have a hunch in your back or barely had any sleep last night."
"No. No, it, it couldn't be," Gus said as his mind was being blown away right now.
"He's the president of the Human Appreciation Society. Most witches wouldn't be able to recognize a human right away. But Augustus is an expert," Willow said to Luz.
"Where are your gills," Gus asked in amazement at Luz's appearance, but Luz could only smile out of amusement at the "human expert."
"That's a mermaid, Mr. Human Expert," Luz corrected with a smile, trying not to mock his intelligence of what human is supposed to look like at first glance.
"I knew an Augustus back in the human world. We called him Gus," Luz said.
"Gus? Nickname? Human nickname? Gus? Call me it. Wow. Gus. This is the best day of my life," Gus said as if this was one of his biggest dreams come true.
[Bell Ringing Scream]
"I've gotta get to spelling class. See you guys at lunch," Gus said as he waved goodbye and left.
"All right. Into the darkness you go," Willow instructed playfully with one eye still open as Luz hissed at her like a disobedient cat with a wrist flick before going into back into the cauldron.
"Huh? Maybe this "plan" could work. Fingers crossed," Luz mutters within the cauldron as Willow took the cart to class.
...Soon...
As Willow's cauldron was pushed into the classroom, Luz could hear the students talking throughout the class;
"Hope I pass," a male student says to himself.
"I'm confident about this," female says to herself.
Then, well into the class period, the teacher began judging his students' homework assignments. The teacher was busy judging a student's Abomination project with a keen eye.
He was a stubby and short humanoid creature with pointed ears, a round beak-like mouth with two fangs on the top row of his teeth, two claws on each foot, and narrow eyes. He has green, chin-length hair with a large bald spot on the top of his head. He has inward-facing green eyebrows and a small green beard. He wears orange tinted circular glasses with no temples and has defined cheekbones as well.
As for his outfit, the teacher wears a black shirt and pants with an oversized purple coat with a red lining. He wears a light silver bow tie around his neck. He is carried by a mauve-colored abomination with a sad and drooping face.
And to further show he was the teacher of the Abomination course, he was being carried around by his own Abomination...literally. This was possibly due to his short stature and with his Abomination always with him, it was probably there to help assist him by lifting him up, so he could interact with students and faculty at eye level without difficulty.
"Hmm. Too many toenails in unexpected places. Fail," he says, giving his grade to the student. "Pathetic! The biggest abominations are all of you! If the next abomination is a failure, everyone gets extra homework for a month," the teacher warned in disappointment as all the students grumbled in disapproval for more homework.
"And the next one to come up is...," he began as he clears throat, he was interrupted by a enthusiastic Amity who was waving her hand up as a volunteer.
"Excuse me, sir, but I am ready to present my abomination. Rise," she commanded as the Abomination groaned once it came out of the cauldron.
"Haha. I've always saved the best for last, Amity. You'll have to wait your turn," he said with a chuckle. The teacher's abomination started walking down the stage to give him time to make a selection.
"How about...Willow," the teacher said, making Willow nervous and cover her head with her uniform.
"Not Half‐a‐Witch," a witch student said in the back.
"Great. Homework for a month," another student complained.
(*Jeez, talk about peer pressure. Am I right?*)
"Don't listen to them, Willow. We can do this," Luz said with a smile to encourage her as Willow nodded her head and took her cart to the stage.
"Uh... Abomination, rise," Willow commanded with a hint of fright in her tone, fearing that Luz may not be a convincing Abomination and the class, teacher included, won't accept the ruse.
Upon hearing Willow's command, Luz gently slips her fingers on the side of the cauldron's lid and gently moves the lid to the side and let it fall onto the cart. She grunts and slowly rises up out of the cauldron with her hands grabbing the rim of the cauldron. She quickly hops out of the cauldron and lands on her feet into a crouch.
"Ta‐da," Luz says with an enthusiastic smile as she stood up straight, making every student in attendance gasped.
"Abomination, bow and kneel," Willow ordered as Luz followed her order. Luz grunts and sighs as she takes a knee and bows her head...like a knight.
"Very impressive. But does it speak," the teacher asked, slightly surprising the student and her "Abomination."
Luz looked at the teacher and quickly began to think of a plan. So, she began to utter and stutter some words together to slowly form sentences, praying her illiterate tongue was enough to fool the class, at least for today.
"...Uh...Fr-uh...fr-uh...fruh...," Luz uttered out in 'fake' difficulty to amuse the audience. Then, she started to look in Willow's direction and her speech slowly became clearer.
"Freh...frend...," Luz said as she grunted the difficulty of the simple word to make everyone think she's learning the intelligence needed little by little for a simple creation.
"Frend...Friend. Friend," Luz finally said, leaving everyone surprised at the Abomination's attempts at establishing communication. "You...are...my...friend...," Luz said as she slowly approached Willow and gave her a hug, rubbing her left cheek on Willow's right cheek, inciting a faint blush. "A friend to the end."
"Awwww," the students chorused at the interaction, leaving Amity the only one silent and stunned at Willow's presentation.
"A friend to the end!" Ha, ha! Splendid wordplay. A plus," the teacher laughs in amusement as he writes A+ on Luz's head with red marker.
The students cheer, knowing they won't have extra homework for a month.
Luz and Willow smile at the result of their teamwork while Amity frowned at the thought of Willow getting a good grade.
[The school bell screams for the end of class and coughs due to over using its vocal chords.]
"Wonderful work today, Willow. Looks like we have a new top student," the Abomination teacher announced.
[RECORD SCRATCH]
Amity gasps nearby and froze mid-step when she heard that sentence and when the Abomination teacher took her star, she growled for a split second. "But‐‐," Amity began to argue, not believing what she was hearing.
"Uh...Thank you, sir," Willow said in surprise as she was given the literal "star student" position in class.
"Hey," Amity said in denial as her star is taken by the professor and pinned onto Willow's uniform.
Willow gasped in shock at her newest achievement, but Amity wasn't having it as the Abomination teacher walked away out of earshot. Not to mention, wasn't she just behind the Abomination teacher? So, how did she get behind Willow so fast? Well, anyway...
"Last time I saw you, your abomination was mush. What did you do," Amity asked, demanding to know how Willow aced her project, despite seeing Willow's previous Abomination earlier.
"I, uh, took your pep talk to heart, Amity," Willow said, trying to come up with a good answer while trying not to spill that a human helped her out.
"I bet you did. I've got my eyes on you, Half‐a‐Witch. That badge is mine," Amity warned as she crossed her arms over her chest and walked backwards away from Willow while maintaining the glare, trying to act cool. She was so caught up in glaring Willow down that she bumped into a student passing by.
"Hey," the random student said as Amity went down an adjacent hallway.
"Uh‐oh. I think Amity is onto us," Willow said as she looked down in concern.
"You think," Luz answered, despite her response being muffled within the cauldron.
...Back At The Owl House...
Hooty was sleeping peacefully until he grunts in displeasure after being woken up all of sudden.
Apparently, Hooty's face got scrunched in by the adjacent side of the house after Eda opens the door.
"Have you seen Luz," Eda asked the front door.
"I heard her tiny mouse feet walking close by. Or that might've been some mice. Anyway, someone started moving in that direction. Hoo, hoo‐hoo, hoo," Hooty said in his annoying voice.
"Are you trying to point, or," Eda asked, feeling confused.
"Look at the weather vane," Hooty clarified.
[It was pointing straight forward, 12 o' clock, slightly off to side, 1 o'clock from Eda perspective from the ground.]
"But the only thing that way is the‐‐," Eda gasps in shock at a possible thought.
"No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no," Eda says as she runs in the direction that the weather vane was pointing at. She comes to a building and peers in through a side window. There was a class in session for younger kids.
"Okay, everyone. Recite your runes," the teacher instructed.
"Krom, Zix, Elgrim, Zenomide‐‐," the group of kids chorused in unity.
"No. Blind obedience," Eda said with a fearful tone as she continued running, stopping at the next window.
"Heximal system time! Let's get memorizin,' the next teacher instructed in her students. Eda puts her hands on the window. She couldn't believe Luz would be here.
"No! Pointless busywork! No! Why! School," Eda said in a defeated tone as she shouts into the air.
...The Lunchroom...
It was lunchtime at Hexide and Luz was watching her friends eat at a lunch table...while
"Hey. Do humans eat PB&J's," Gus asked, splitting his peanut butter and jelly sandwich in half.
"Oh, my gosh. I haven't eaten real food in so long. Please give me some," Luz said as she chomps down on the half that was offered to her and puts the whole piece in her mouth like a satisfied pet before sinking back into the goo-covered cauldron.
"I don't know, Gus," Willow grumbles with uncertainty about giving part of the sandwich to Luz. "If Amity saw that..."
[STOMP] Too late. Out of nowhere, Amity jumps onto their lunch table like an angry person.
"I saw that," Amity said in a furiously loud tone.
"Oh come on, girl! Can you leave us alone for just 15 minutes," Luz whispered within the cauldron while listening in on her friends' conversation with the former picture perfect student.
"Abominations don't eat! I know you're in there! You can't hide from me. What are you? Who are you? I want answers," Amity shouted in an angry tirade, as she grabbed Willow's "abnormal" Abomination out of the cauldron and try to interrogate it front of everyone by shaking it back and forth.
"Amity Blight," the Abomination teacher from the previous class announced her name.
"Huh," she said, stunned as if she just got caught red-handed doing something bad, which she isn't known for at Hexide.
"I suspected a twinge of jealousy, but this, this is just sad," the Abomination teacher from class addressed.
"But I‐‐No! Look at it," Amity defended, bringing the 'Abomination' up, farther out of the cauldron, so he could see it better.
"Hmmm. Let's see if I can have a little fun with this girl," Luz says in her head as an idea slowly formed in her head.
"...Friend...," Luz groaned out in a zombie-like tone as she eyed Amity with a smile and rolled her head.
"What," Amity said as she saw Luz's body and arms started moving towards her.
Amity was slightly scared with what Willow's Abomination was going to do and sure enough, the 'Abomination' slowly grabbed Amity's abdomen and gave her a tight hug like a 'friend' would, nuzzling 'it's' face into Amity's uniform.
"Hey! Get off me! Willow! Stop this crazy thing," Amity shouted, being caught off guard by the 'Abomination's' show of affection while trying to wiggle out of Luz's grasp and pushing down on Luz's head to make her loosen her grip while everyone was giggling or laughing at the display.
"Still showing affection like in class. Good job, Willow," the teacher complemented as Willow played it off like it this was normal.
"Yeah, uhm. *Clears throat* Abomination, release," Willow commanded.
"Awww," Luz says as she lets go of Amity, who quickly takes a few steps back to get away from the clingy Abomination.
"Bye, bye, friend," Luz says with a sad wave as she slowly closes her eyes and descends back into the cauldron, stunning Amity.
"...Bye...," Amity says within her head with a mental frown. She would never admit out loud, but she felt like she almost made a new friend with Willow's Abomination.
"Report to Principal Bump's office," the teacher ordered, jumping her out of mesmerized state.
"But‐‐," Amity said as she tried to talk to the Abomination teacher.
"Now," the teacher orders as Amity grumbles and storms off with a grunt.
...Soon...
"Whoo! I'm a sweaty little abomination. But now we don't have to worry about Amity. High five! Slap my hand. It's a human thing," Luz.
"Oh. Oh, my. Oh, man, what a rush," Gus
"Good afternoon, students," a new voice greeted, making all three individual freeze.
It was an old man, presumably due to the wrinkles surrounding his upper lip. His skin is light beige and he has teal eyes with light yellow sclera. He wears a red demon on his head that covers up half of his face, which gives him the appearance of being consumed by said demon. He wears a traditional academic dress consisting of a long black gown with a gold yoke and a black cape, gold trim at the sleeves and cape hem, plus a blue stole draped over his shoulders.
This was Principal Bump, the Principal of Hexide.
"Principal Bump," Willow said in surprise.
"Hmm. Abomination, rise. Abomination, lie," Principal Bump commanded.
"Uh, viral fame is a worthy pursuit. Your cat would never eat you if it got the chance. Chemtrails are real‐‐," Luz said randomly in an dull, obedient tone like a robotic servant.
"Oh, no, Abomination. How strange for it to get the command wrong. I mean, lie down," Principal Bump said to clarify. Luz chuckles nervously while following the command the Principal just gave and lies down on the nearby table.
"So very lifelike. When Miss Blight told me about your abomination, I had to come by, see what she's made of," Principal Bump said as Willow and Luz slowly mentally went pale as the whistle-blower in question was nearby smirking.
"Oh, I have her list of ingredients right here," Willow said, holding the piece of paper out, but the Principal had a better idea.
"No. We were hoping...for a closer look. Willow, I'll allow you the first cut," Principal Bump said, gesturing for Willow to start as she leaned in close to Luz's head for a quick whisper.
"Uh, you can't just cut open a human, can you?," Willow asked in a whisper to her "project."
With a slight shake of her head, Luz could only mouth out a weak "No," making Willow lightly gulp of what the principal's next sentence would be.
"Willow, go ahead and make the first incision," Principal Bump said as Luz's eyes shrink in fear at what he just said. It didn't take a genius to know where this situation was going...
In short, they were going to dissect her. No, her NEWEST best friend of a witch in this school was going to dissect her by scalpel with her principal encouraging her. This just went from a dream tour to a nightmare ending that nobody, not even Luz wasn't expect to see coming. Luz knew she was in a tight spot, but what could she do without exposing the fact that she was a human right in front of the principal?
If Luz resisted and fought back, then the principal would get suspicious immediately and probably have her restrained. And even if Luz let Willow continue, she would be at risk of being dissected by scalpel, followed by excessive blood loss, with her organs being harvested for study later. Not to mention, she didn't want to test her pain tolerance by having her new best friend poking and prodding her with a medical tool. This was not the best way to go out dying with what you believe in when you're not even a student at the school you're probably interested in enrolling at to learn magic one day.
What would a human do in this situation? Well, half human...and before Willow could place the scalpel blade onto the Luz's skin, Luz utter a small prayer in her native within her head for anything to save her in her time of need without blowing her cover. And as if someone from high above in the Great Beyond heard her pleading call for help, her prayer was answered in one way:
That feeling that set off her demonic sense returned...
"Perfect timing...and thank you, Lord...," Luz said in her head with a mixed expression of uncomfortable relief as she needed to warn Willow.
"...Dan-ger...," Luz said said weakly as she grabbed Willow's wrist to stop her from poking the scalpel into her arm.
"What," Willow asked the Abomination with the Principal and Amity taking notice.
"...Friend...in...dan-ger...," Luz said sounding in a worried and serious tone while Willow looked her 'Abomination' in its eyes, non-verbally telling Willow this was going to get ugly, real fast.
"What is going on with your Abomination, Willow? It sounds smarter than it was in the lunch room earlier," Amity asked, noticing the 'Abomination' is saying more words than it was before.
"Uhm. Can we postpone this later? I think its saying 'danger' is nearby," Willow said, feeling a little uncomfortable about Luz's warning.
"Now you're just being funny, Willow. This school is protected by magical barriers that I can activate if there ever was a problem," the Principal said with a smile as if this was joke.
"Yeah, so what is your Abomination getting so worked up about," Amity asked, as if Willow was starting to lose her mind. Luz looked at Amity when she asked that question, then she turned her head and saw the danger take form within the classroom.
"Danger," Luz says much more clearly as she points to the far wall of the classroom they were in. Willow follows Luz's arm and saw what she meant by "danger" as she saw a red and black diamond appear on the far wall, like within a summoning ritual. It smelled like blood and it made Willow's skin crawl.
"Maybe because of that," Willow shouts in a panic as the two other occupants in the room were shocked at the classroom floor was starting to turn red in a spinning vortex-like fashion with a 3 large black epicenters as if they were like...
"...Portals...," the principal asked, surprised at how these things manifested directly into his school so suddenly.
And within the 3 portals, 3 skeletal figures come out of the ground with groan, shocking everyone. Each one had a long dark hood and a thorny crown, like a religious figure that Luz would see in a church. They wore ragged black robes, and have reptilian clawed feet and a stumbling posture like a zombie. But what really scared everyone was each and every one of the creatures standing before them were wielding massive scythes as they roared out monstrous growls as their jaws hung wide open and closed just as a quick like predators ready to attack their prey.
CLEAVING VANGUARD:
HELL CAINA
"Oh, shit! Wasn't expecting those," Luz thought in surprise. She eyed the principal and Amity and saw their were briefly distracted by the demons in front of them. It was time to take advantage of their oversight.
Luz grabbed Willow's hand to get her attention.
"Give me an order to protect you," she whispered to her "master." Willow nodded her head in agreement to move forward with the trick.
"Uhm. Abomination, rise," Willow instructed as Luz got off the table.
"Abomination, defend us and attack them," Willow said as she pointed to herself and the other witnesses in the room, then pointed at the demons in front of them.
"Hey," Amity objected as she wanted to approach Willow to scold her for not following the principal's instruction. She wanted to know what made that Abomination so different that it cost her the title of "Number #1 Student."
"Wait. Let's see what happens," Principal Bump said as he was actually interested to see what this Abomination can do in a combat situation.
Luz walked over and put herself between the sides; with Willow, Amity and the Principal behind her and the demons in front of her.
"Can't use my guns or my sword, but I can fight them hand to hand. Oh, well. I guess I needed some combat training anyway," she commented as she looked the new crowd of demons over while the Caina in the middle growls at his companions and points it scythe at the goo-covered individual in front of them.
"...Sparda...," the Caina said as the others nod their heads and spread out to give the individual multiple targets.
"Sparda? I haven't heard that name since...," the Principal thought as his face sported a curious look before looking at the Abomination in front of him. "What are you? An abomination? Or something else entirely, if they're going directly after you."
"Here we go," Luz said as she prepared for a fight as the Reapers began to growl at her with intimidation as their skeletal mouths hung wide open like zombies before they started running at her. One by one.
The first Caina from her front goes for a vertical downward slash, but Luz side-steps the attack to the left and the blade hits the floor, creating a crack in the floor due to the force behind the swing.
The next Caina on Luz's left goes for a horizontal slash to decapitate Luz's head from her neck. Luz quickly ducks and the blade clashes against the first Caina's scythe handle, creating sparks on impact.
"Can't dodge forever. Not enough room in this classroom," Luz said as she does a back-flip to avoid another slice from the third Caina's scythe, shocking her audience at how flexible and nimble she was.
Luz quickly backed up to get some more room as the 2nd and 3rd Caina came in close together to flank her from both sides to prevent her from dodging back. They were both coming in with horizontal slashes with Luz's head in the middle. She ducked her head as the two scythes intersected and nearly missed Luz's neck, narrowly saving her from being decapitated as she rolled to the side to get some room to strategize a game plan against theses things.
"Jeez. Did the Grim Reaper have kids," Luz said in her head as one of the Reapers came in for a slash, but Luz dodges and strikes the Caina with a normal punch to the face, the force behind the strike sends the Caina into the far wall, it doesn't stay down and gets right back up, shocking Luz for a second. While she was stunned, another Caina comes up from the ground behind Luz and slices her back, leaving a solid rip in her clothing, but she quickly grabs the Caina and tosses it into the side to get some room, forcing it to drop its scythe at Luz's feet.
"These things look slow, but their quick. Definitely not underestimating these things again," Luz mutters as she surveyed the group around. It was kind of fortunate that they were focused on her, rather than her audience at moment, but all the more reason to end this fight quickly. She looks at her feet and sees the signature death weapon and an idea quickly forms inside her head. Luz takes the scythe and waits. The Caina's quickly surround her like a pack of hunters, in which, they quickly converge in the middle to pounce on her. She quickly jumps over them as high as she could go and the Cainas accidentally hit each other, faces first in the middle of the surprise dog-pile, making Willow smile and clap while the Principal was amused with a smirk while Amity could only frown at the growing popularity that Willow would be receiving from the Principal in the future.
"Way to go, L-uh...Abomination," Willow said, quickly trying to cover up her verbal mistake as the Principal Gump heard her error, but didn't press on about it while Amity sporting a frown at Willow's Abomination. How is it doing all of these moves and tricks? Abominations are strong, but not that fast to dodge enemy attacks! They take the attacks, head on. So what was Willow's secret?
When checked that no more demons were coming, she quickly raises the scythe and horizontally slices all 4 of the Caina's heads right off their bodies, blood erupting from the newly made corpses as the bodies slumped to the ground, slightly scaring and surprising the audience behind Luz at the grotesque display she just left behind.
"Wow, 4 in a row. Good job, Abomination," Willow said with a smile, trying to forget the blood covered scene behind Luz.
"What did I missed," a new voice asked, coming into the room where all the action was, making everyone look at the classroom door. It was Gus.
"Apparently, an Abomination versus a group of demons. However, those demons aren't native to the Boiling Isles. ...Hmmm...Interesting...," Bump explained as he raised his hand to his chin, eyeing the corpses with interest.
"You okay, Principal Bump," Willow asked as Bump was deep in thought until he sighed.
"It's okay. Something for a later time needs to be addressed. Besides, I think your Abomination got them all," Bump said with a smile.
That is until 4 more of them appear out of where like they were camouflaged and stab their scythes into Luz's body from four separate angles, seemingly paralyzing Luz and surprising everyone else.
"Uhm. I think your Abomination missed some," Amity added, trying not to sound like a buzzkill.
However, when the Cainas looked at the pruned body of Sparda in front of them, they weren't expecting Luz to instantly come to life and push one of the Cainas in front of her into the far wall, making its body explode on impact, leaving its skull head behind. Luz caught the skull head and held it up high and held the pose of herself staring at the skull as a reference to the character, Yorick from the book, "Hamlet." for a brief moment before she started walking towards the crowd of witches, dragging the Cainas with her since their weapons were still embedded in Luz's body.
"Their weapons are hurting me, but thankfully, this Abomination goop is preventing their scythes from going any deeper into my body," Luz commented within in her head with hint of pain in her tone as she felt the scythes that were impaled in multiple angles within her body, hindering her movement, but not enough to make her fall over.
"...Must...take fight outside...limited space...in school...," Luz said to her creator as Willow nodded in agreement at what Luz was doing.
Luz nodded at her creator, before her eyes drifted to Amity in the background, who was looking quite mad and scared at her. "Bye, bye. Friend," Luz waved at Amity with a smile as she slowly walked out of the classroom, Bump and Gus staying out of her way, and out into the hall with her "anchors" trying so to slow her down and stop her with little to no success whatsoever.
Amity quickly eyed the group before following after the Abomination to the hallway, taking up the rear and seeing the demons' scythe still stuck in Luz's back as she took them further down the hallway towards the school's entrance since she remember the way.
"Bye," Amity whispered to herself with a frown, knowing full well that the nobody would hear her. Although, everyone else did follow Amity's lead and eyed the direction that Willow's abomination was going.
"I get it. She's taking them outside, so these things won't target the students or the staff," Willow said to the Principal.
"Agreed. Great work, Willow. You know how to make a interesting Abomination," the Principal said with a smile. He wanted to still dissect the Abomination, but seeing its fighting capabilities was a good distraction, nonetheless.
"Actually, Principal Bump," Willow admitted. "Is it okay if I switch my coven track to Plant magic."
"Why the sudden change in covens, Willow," the Principal asked with a slight frown and a raised eyebrow.
"Well, let's just say I would feel a bit more comfortable in the Plant track than the Abomination track. Besides, I do better with plants than Abominations anyway. Trust me, let me go help out my Abomination and I'll show you why," Willow said as she quickly followed after Luz with Gus, Amity and the principal following suit.
Further down the hall, Luz was 'limping' down the hall with the Cainas' still with her..."Man, you guys sure are annoying," Luz said with a smirk as she continued down the hallway, trying her hardest to remember the way out of Hexide was while trying to keep these things from trying to pry their weapons out of her body, so they could continue the fight.
"As long as nothing slows me down (despite these scythes in my back), I can do this," Luz said with a uplifting smile.
"Good job, Abomination! Keep going," Willow said as she ran up from behind Luz to guide her to the exit while the rest of the group brought up the rear.
"...Thank...you...," Luz said with a smile as she slightly waved back at her creator, despite being literally covered with demons.
That is until Amity saw Luz's cheerful face and and got a good long look at it as time immediately slowed down. Now that she could see the individual in front of her with less Abomination goop covering her features, Amity saw what made this Abomination different from Willow's previous one.
What stood out the most were Luz's eyes...and her ears...The eyes were one thing, red and narrow but the ears were dead a giveaway. She was a human!
Amity's face went from surprise to shock to anger within seconds until the thought finally hit her like an offensive spell. And just like the bully she was, she had to expose the scheme to the Principal Bump.
"What the...?! Wait a spell! That's NOT an Abomination! That's a human," Amity shouted in surprise and anger at this revelation. "WILLOW...," she added with madden glare as she eyed the witch in question, who could only gulp in fear at their secret has now been exposed.
"I do believe an explanation is in order, Willow," Principal Bump with a disappointed face present.
"Oh, titan," Willow muttered in embarrassment and fear as she was caught within a rock and hard place with Luz stunned with fear as well. What can they do from here?
The answer was the Reapers that were stuck in Luz's back managed to pull their scythes out of Luz's back for another fight, forcing Luz onto the defensive to protect her friends.
"Well, I guess since the secret is out, I might as well go out fighting, right," Luz said with a not so confident smile as she pulls out Rebellion and began to fight the Cainas while everyone took a few steps back to give them some room. Good thing class was in session, otherwise, the whole hallway would have been filled with curious students wondering what was going on.
"I still gotta get these things out of the school," Luz muttered as she wasn't too worried about herself. She was worried about what the number of causalities would be if she didn't stop the demons here and now.
"Willow! Hit me," Luz said.
"What," Willow confused on what Luz just said.
"Just hit me with a vine. Remember from earlier? When those vines erupted from the ground when you lost your temper," Luz pointed out
"But...," Willow began as her face further frowned. "Oh, I can't do this. This is awful. I don't know what to do. Amity's right. I'm just Half‐a‐Witch Willow.
"No, you're not! You're Full‐Witch Willow. And you're great at what you do. And someone once told me great witches are resourceful," Luz said as she remembers something from earlier.
Luz blocks another scythe and digs her free hand into her pocket that held the seed that Eda gave her earlier in the day and throws over to Willow's feet as she continues onward to the fight.
"Here use this! I hope it can be useful right now," Luz shouted as she dodges a swipe from another scythe.
"That's it. That can help us," Willow said with hope.
"Yeah. Thank goodness someone told me to hold on to it," Luz said with a weak smile, but started to feel the pressure as she was started to lose ground against these things.
Willow was still frowning as her new human friend was encouraging her to attack her.
"Luz...," Willow began as she felt like crying.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine. Just use the giant plant vine you summoned earlier before, when we first met to knock me and these demons out of the front entrance to the school. It's right there," Luz said as she pointed down the hall, where she was headed before, where the exit to the front of the school was.
"Please grow," Willow pleaded as she swirled her index finger and let the magic flow. Then, the rumbling started and a giant thick, vine similar than before erupted out of the ground, in between the two.
"Remarkable," Principal Bump uttered out in a astonishment.
"Please. Don't hate me," Willow said with deep regret at what she was about to do as her powers over plants began to intensify, growing a vine big enough to consume the hallway.
Luz could only smile at Willow's plea.
"It okay. I can't really hate my friends, if they are trying to help me," Luz added with a smile as she nods her head forward, letting Willow do her thing. Luz held one of the Cainas in a stalemate on purpose to give Willow a chance to wind up her strike.
"Forgive me," Willow says in whisper as she closes her eyes and swipes her hand to the side as the giant vine drags across the floor and forcibly launches everyone in its path backwards towards the exit. Luz sees it coming and jumps up and puts her feet onto the incoming vine to gain momentum to launch herself down the hall, out of the main exit and onto the steps in front of the school.
After the landing, Luz began to go full on assault mode against these things.
She summoned Rebellion and began to hack and slash as many times as needed to push these things back. Slicing one Caina's arm of before slicing its head off. She quickly dodges the Cainas as much as she could while damaging their weapons to the point that that Rebellion rendered the scythes useless before cutting the Caina's down to size. She finished the
"...Sparda...found...," the last Caina gasped out before dissipating into ash and turning into Red Orbs that Luz didn't notice at all as the blood went straight into Rebellion when she turned her head.
"That can't be good. But I'll worry about that warning later," Luz said as she sheathed her sword and looked back at the front side of Hexide.
"I'll be back guys," Luz said as she ran off, getting away from Hexide. "I gotta get all of this action away from Hexide before these demons start turning their attention towards the students and faculty," Luz suggested as she bolted in the direction of the Owl House.
...Meanwhile...
...Inside Hexide...
(while Luz was dealing with the demons outside...)
"What was that all about," Principal Bump asked with his arms crossed, expecting answer. His tone border lining disappointment rather than anger.
"...Willow...," he added, staring at the Abomination student with impatience starting to sink in.
"Look, my new friend, the human, she helped me...by posing as my Abomination project, as least, just for the day to get a good grade. So, in exchange, she got to see the school of Hexide, the school for witches in training," Willow explained as the Principal looked at her with his vision focused directly on the two witches in front of him.
"I see. And I take it Willow told you, Augustus, about the human," Bump added for clarification, in which, the illusion track witch nodded with a nervous smile on his face.
"Yes," Augustus confessed. "But it's not like she did anything bad.
"Oh. How so," Bump added with a raised eyebrow.
"I mean, she only wanted to see the school. It's not like she wanted to cause problems around the school," Willow defended.
"Yeah. She even enjoyed the fact that I was President of the Human Appreciation Club. She'll could probably give me more facts about humans that none of us don't already know yet," Gus added for defense.
"Hmmm. You two are not wrong. Fine," Bump said after a certain thought some consideration.
"Alright, then. Give her this...until I say otherwise," Bump said as he drew a circle with his index finger and a flyer appeared in front of him and handed it to Gus. When he opened the paper, his eyes and Willow's eyes went wide.
"Oh, boy," Gus said with a frown.
"And Willow," Bump added.
"Yes, Principal Bump," Willow answered with a frown.
"After seeing this great display of plant magic, I hereby change your class from Abomination to Plant. You will now be taking plant magic classes from now on," he announced as Willow smiled widely at the news.
Then, she noticed her newly acquired star on her uniform. The "#1 Student" Star.
"Here. Take this Amity," Willow said removing the star from her uniform and giving it back to Amity.
"I'm not going to need this anymore," Willow said as she gave back Amity's "#1 Star" Button.
"Uhm, thanks," Amity said, completely caught off guard by Willow's gesture and took the star back.
Amity really wanted her star back...but for Willow to give the star up willing? Although, quite easier, she didn't see that coming.
"Now, there is something I need to take care of, back at my office. And I expect there to be no more surprises for the time being from you two," he stated as he turned in the direction of his office.
"Of course," the two witches as Bump started walking, Amity in tow.
"Principal Bump, sir," Amity asked.
"Yes, Amity," Bump answered.
"Will this count towards some extra credit for my Abomination class," she asked as Bump could only grumble as he roll his eyes. Willow and Gus could only snicker in laughter as they headed towards the exit.
"Come on! Let's go find Luz," Willow said as they went out the front doors.
"There's she goes," Gus said as he pointed seeing her run off in the direction of the Owl House, nearly kicking up dust as she ran away.
"Wow! She fast! Is that how all humans are," Gus asked in fascination.
"Come on," Willow urged as they followed after her.
...Soon...
"Eda," Luz shouted as she ran for the safety of the Owl House. Blindly running up to Eda and giving her a bear hug.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey! What is this? Ugh! I never understand when you do this," Eda said, not liking to be hugged.
"Your lesson worked! Keeping junk in my pocket saved my life. Or least, level the playing field," Luz said until something crosses her mind and she quickly gasps. "But wait. My new friends. They're in danger."
"Luz," Willow said as she ran up to the Owl House, exhausted due to all the running she just did with Gus bringing up her rear.
"Seriously, what is that," Eda questioned, not used to seeing people "hug" before.
"You won't believe it, Luz. Everything is perfect now," Willow announced.
"It's true," Gus added.
"I don't believe it," Luz said with excitement.
"Principal Bump was so impressed by my plant work he's switching me to the plant magic track! Look," she said as she snapped her fingers and did a spin. Her uniform sleeves and legs changed color from Abomination purple to Plant green.
"Yes! Whoo," Luz shouts and giggles with a glee as she hugged Willow again, but only this time, Willow twirled Luz around as they both hugged. It was a heart-warming scene.
"Oh. What about Amity," she asked, nearly forgetting the thorn in their side today.
"Last we saw, she was asking Bump if today could count as extra credit.
"Well, I can't wait to see you in action next time I sneak in," Luz said as Willow had sported a look of panic on her face with her mouth open and her teeth clenched shut.
"Uh, about that. You're kinda, sorta...banned," Gus said as he pulls out a poster consisting of Luz, with Abomination goo, waving to the camera with the word, "BANNED" written underneath her close-up photo in red lettering. The very thought of Luz being banned from the Hexide alone was enough to stun her face with shock.
"That's my girl," Eda says with praise, despite Luz sporting a face of disbelief and shock at the word, banned.
"But we could come here and teach you what we learned," Willow suggested, trying to be supportive.
"Aw. That would be nice. But...I have a pretty great teacher already," Luz said, smiling at Eda, who was slightly surprised at Luz's declaration before sporting a sinister smile.
"Yeah, that's right. Luz is my student. Back off, academy twerps," Eda said, snatching Luz's banned poster from Gus, forcing him to back away as if Luz was her's, making them all laugh.
"Ah, baby's first wanted poster. Good job, kid. Looks like I taught you something after all," Eda said, feeling accomplished as a teacher, thus far.
"Uh, you high five with your hands, not your head," Gus said randomly, popping up in between the two, causing them to freeze.
The duo could only look at Gus, before Luz could only snicker at Gus' observation.
"She isn't high-fiving me, Gus. She's patting my head. There's a difference," Luz clarified to the illusionist. "Make sure of it to make a note of that for later."
"Got it," Gus said as he pulled a notebook and started writing.
Eda could only shake at her head in amusement. "I'm going to frame this and put this on the wall...next to mine," Eda said as she went back into the house.
"I'm sorry, guys. This is all my fault, Willow. I just wanted to see what a real magic school was like," Luz said, feeling disappointed with herself.
"Well, how did you like it," Willow said.
"It was lovely, actually," Luz said with a smile.
They both giggle as they sigh at today's events.
"Hey, Luz. Now that we have a moment," Gus said as his face became worrisome.
"What were those things were back at Hexide, because that wasn't just normal creatures that could just pop up from out of nowhere," Willow asked as Luz looked to the side for second, deep in thought.
Should she get them involved? She might as well since her newest best friends in this world, along with their principal and Amity, just saw her fight things off in plain view within their school.
"It's a long story, but I'll explain everything when I get to everything that's important. But maybe you guys could help us out with something else. You see...I'm NOT all human either," Luz said with a uncomfortable smile.
"Your a half-a-witch too," Willow asked, feeling like she found someone who's in a similar situation as she was.
"I prefer hybrid. Human/demon hybrid," Luz clarified.
"Sooo...your part demon? How," Gus asked as he kept on writing notes down at this exposition.
"Blood transfusion. From this thing," Luz explains as she pulls out Rebellion (from her friends' perspective, out of nowhere) and stabs it into the ground beside her, causing them to go wide-eyed.
"You guys are in for one helluva party," Luz announced with a grin to her new witch friend.

[COMPLETED]
...Later...That Evening...
Luz was sitting on the couch while Eda was standing in front of her with King off to the side.
"And that's what happened today," Luz said, after she explained what she went through today while she was Hexide, especially the demon fight she experienced.
"Those demons. They looked like a 'undead version' of the Grim Reaper with its trusty scythe," Luz commented as King pulled out his book and started researching.
"Hey, Luz! The creatures you saw at Hexide. Did they look like this," King asked as he showed Luz a picture of the grim reaper looking demons from before, making Luz frown in fear of seeing their ugly mugs from before.
"Yeah, exactly like that, King. Only there was more than one of them," Luz described in an uncomfortable tone.
"Get this, Luz! You just dealt with a few Hell Caina from the Underworld," King addressed.
"A wha...," Luz said, asking for King to repeat whatever name he said again.
"Hell Caina," King repeated in annoyed tone at Luz's inability to understand demonic names.
"You don't have to worry about the Hell Cainas too much as they are some of the weaker demons from the other side, however, they make up for their weak statures and health by having as many of them come through the portals as possible, groups at a time. The Hell Caina have one main attack in which they swing their scythe several times as they close in. As their title "Cleaving Vanguard" implies, their attacks are sweeping and can hit in a wide frontal arc, in which, they WILL cleave you in half given a chance. Good news is they lack any and all anti-air moves, so attacking them from above or keeping them airborne while you dish out your attacks on them would work all too well in a fight.
"How did you know they were going to attack you at Hexide," Eda said. She was quite surprised that something interesting happened at Hexide and she missed it. What a bummer for her, at least this time.
"So the way it works is that if I feel this tense, tingling sensation, my body locks up for a second and my senses are slowly being overloaded with a demonic presence," Luz said as she analyzed her condition further.
"So when you get visibly uncomfortable, on the verge of a panic attack, demons spawn out of nowhere. Got it," Eda says getting the gist of the idea.
"How will you know when your body is about to have 'that' feeling," King added, as if he was trying to sound like a doctor trying to make sure his patient's condition doesn't affect her overall health.
"I don't know," Luz answered in a surrendering fashion as she laid her further onto the couch. "I really don't know exactly how to predict when my body freaks out before the demons come. So the best method right now is to just let it happen and play it by eyes and ears because its too serious to consider anything a false alarm, but it helps to be prepared for the best and worst case scenario," Luz said as she got up from her spot and headed up the stairs to call it a day.
"Noted. I guess that means I better demon and devil proof this place before she brings the action to the home front," Eda said as she got to work as well, looking through any defensive spells that would help re-enforce their home.
Sorry about the delay. The alternate interactions and story layout for this chapter were the most difficult parts.
Stay safe, everybody!
