I'm sure by now, most of you have seen the teaser trailer for the Loud House movie on Netflix.

Maybe it's because I set my expectations too high, but I'm not amused by what I saw. Have any of you seen that Spongebob episode where Patrick found out he's a descendant of royalty, before it was revealed that it was actually Gary? I know nothing's original anymore, but Lost in Time was one of my favorite, if not my most favorite Spongebob specials. I was more or less expecting a cartoonish historical thriller.

Oh well, that's what I get for expecting a lot out of a show made for kids.

When I started this story, I was working out of a concept that I came up with after seeing that promotional image of the royal family. I thought it was a good idea to come up with an OC: a knight that lived during that time and was tasked to protect them.

I took the whole setting into account when I created Calum MacBain, as well as Philip Pherson and General Greenlaw. I did, like, two hours of research into Scotland history. Even went through a sample text of this one book, 'Lady of the Glen' by Jennifer Roberson to try to get inspiration. By some freak miracle, it worked. Managed to get over 10K words.

I was also working on another story, 'Star of Akademi' around the same time and for a little while, I had more fun working on this story because more people liked it. Now Star of Akademi is approaching 2,000 views now; becoming my third most viewed story on the site.

I could continue working on this, but I just don't see the point anymore.

This'll probably be my last Loud House fic, too. We all gotta move on sometime, right?

Thank you so much for reading 'MacBain' and if anyone out there really wants to know how the story ends, I'll post a very short summary in the reviews.
