AN: I KNOW, it's really short. Two extra's that really wouldn't have fitted into the chapter five. Thank you all so much for the lovely messages, no I haven't abandoned this story 😊 I have written 5k for the next chapter (unedited) I will probably post it up when I have got my bearings on chapter 6. It will probably take awhile! I have another two assignments due soon and I can tell they are both going be a pain in the ass.
Chapter Four
EXTRA
Kurenai's report
By the time Kurenai has put her daughter to bed and dismissed the fatigued Konohamaru, the sun had long since set. She made her way into the Hokage's office where Kakashi was working into the dead of night. The tower was deadly silent as others working in the vicinity had clocked out hours ago.
She delicately placed a scroll with thorough details of the day's proceedings were carefully recorded. Kakashi looked at it expectantly, not yet picking it up.
"I take it everything worked out?" He asked. Kurenai nodded her head in affirmative. "It's more than what could have been expected in such a short amount of time," Kurenai responded respectfully. Kakashi felt a little bit disappointed and ugly feeling in his gut. It was not fair of him to selfishly hope that Naruto failed the assessment.
"Naruto really passed?" He asked again, unable to stop himself. Kurenai nodded once again. "She has passed as acceptable. There should be no worry about her blowing the undercover operation at this point in time." Kurenai stated.
Kakashi sighed in resignation. He supposed he should be happy for the blonde-haired youth. Proud even, maybe? There wasn't much pride in sending off someone you care about to act as bait, but he could admit it was for a greater cause.
He picked up the scroll, ready to unroll it, curious about what Kurenai had deemed as acceptable and how they even reached that conclusion. For the brief time he was there Naruto was a disaster.
"I should warn you, Hokage-sama," Kurenai started albeit hesitantly, "Sasuke-san took over the training after his summoning…" She looked nervous.
"Oh?" Kakashi said curiously. He suspected that Sasuke would have been able to offer some insight to his excitable friend. Still, he didn't think it would have lead to Sasuke taking over the training. "And I suppose his tutoring must have had some effect of Naruto getting passed then?" He asked Kurenai. She stiffly nodded in response.
"I never would have guessed Sasuke would take such an active role." He hummed, "perhaps he would make good teaching lectures on the topic." Kakashi smiled a little at the thought of Sasuke leading kunoichi classes to Academy students in the future.
"That might not be so wise, Kakashi," Kurenai was quick to reply. Kakashi has started to read the scroll at this point, no longer so focused on Kurenai. "Hmm, why's that?" He asked half-heartedly.
"I think uh… Sasuke-san's methods of teaching were quite progressive. I do not think it would be appropriate to incorporate into the Academy." Kurenai watched warily ask Kakashi's interests peeked.
"Sasuke approached a physical method of training."
As Kakashi reached the part of the report that included Sasuke's training, he felt something coil within his belly. Was it anger or worry? He couldn't differentiate it.
"Ino, Sakura, and Sai also took active roles in the activity."
His eye twitched a little. When he said Ino could help Naruto in her training, this was definitely not what he meant.
"Naruto was at first distressed as expected."
His twitch morphed into a glare as he glowered thoughtlessly at the offending scroll in his hands.
"The 'Kissing Experiment' was proved effective after several role plays were implemented."
His grip tightened, uncaring that he must have ripped it a little.
"Subject: Naruto vastly improved her ability to handle physical attacks compared to her earlier results earlier in the examination. It can be approved that although she may not have completely mastered her objective, she will no longer be a hindrance to the overall mission."
The report was ripped in half. Kakashi looked up at Kurenai with a terse smile. "Maa, you were correct in your deductions Kurenai-san." His smile grew, but it only seemed to look colder. A shiver ran up Kurenai's spine as she unconsciously straightened her posture.
"This could never possibly be taught at the academy." Kakashi's voice was deceptively warm, but the room felt as though it had reached sub-zero temperatures. She was dismissed thankfully fast as she exited the Hokage's office, shaken to the core.
Naruto's Dilemma
Naruto sat contemplatively on her bed after the day's events. It was weird. Before this point, she had kissed about two people. Sasuke in a clash of teeth and horrible ridicule following after and some bitch trying to steal her soul.
Both horrifyingly memorable and equally disturbing. Naruto lightly touched her lip, tracing over them gently. Amongst the clash of mouths she had to endure, each kiss had gotten more and more tedious, like a chore she just wanted to hurry and get over with.
"Man, my friends are so weird," Naruto muttered before scowling.
She fell back on the bed with a light oomph. Rolling over, she blushed a little in second-hand embarrassment. Moaning in aggravation, she shoved her head into the pillow as though it would cover up her shame.
A minute later, she rolled onto her back with a heavy sigh and placed her hand onto her forehead in frustration.
"Ahk! This is so stupid."
She sat back up and made the hand sign for a shadow clone. In seconds she was sitting face to face looking at herself apprehensively.
"Kiss me." She demanded her clone, who gaped before hesitantly leaning in and placing a kiss on her mirror image.
It was gentle, soft, and awkward. Obviously, neither of them was particularly good at it, but they held the kiss for a decent amount of time before breaking apart. The clone looked back at Naruto before smirking viciously.
"Heh, you kiss like a total loser." The clone mocked. Naruto sputtered, "You bastard!" She yelled at herself. "I was no better than you, c'mon kiss me again!" Naruto continued accusatorily. The clone looked at her dubiously. "No way, boss. This is fuckin' weird! Quit embarrassing us like this and let me die with some dignity," replied her clone.
"No! We're going to do this all night if we have to!" Naruto yelled angrily. The clone scowled, apprehension sweating on their brow for what was being asked from them. The clone then raised her hand and, to Naruto's indignation, dispelled themselves.
"AGH!" Naruto yelled in frustration. When not even your own clone wants to live through the shame, it really gives you a good idea of just how far your friends will go for you.
