Chapter 5

Making Things Right

"Hey, you! What is that?"

"Am I…. dreaming again? Why do I see this dream?"

"This is my Kamen Rider action figure!"

"Kamen Rider? What's that?"

"Wait…. I am starting to see it more clearly!"

Tatsumi saw his younger self playing with his old Kamen Rider action figure, which he still had with him. His younger self, who was around five years old at this time, was talking with someone.

The person he was talking with was a young girl with a short dark blue ponytail. Her look reminded Tatsumi.

"That girl… She looks so familiar. Have I seen her somewhere?" He asked.

"What?! You don't know about Kamen Rider? That's absurd! I will teach you about it and the way of Tokusatsu Heroes!"

"OK, cool! By the way, what's your name?"

"Oh, right. My name is Tatsumi Kurate, and you?"

"Well, my name is Yuko, Yuko Crow."

"Yuko… I remember now! She was someone I met a long time ago! It was our first-time meeting. Though, why do I see this dream? Come to think of why is Yuko looks like Yatagarashu…. Wait, no, it couldn't be!"

"Or maybe she is." A voice said, scaring Tatsumi. The dream ended, and Tatsumi woke up in a mysterious dark space.

There was nothing here as he looked around. Both top and below him were endless darkness.

"You saw a dream about your past." He looked to see a young man approaching him before he stopped about 7 feet away from him.

The man had brown hair with a bang that covers his eyes. His skin was fair, and his clothes were very casual, a light pink long-sleeved shirt with black stripes, light-colored pants, a red T-shirt under the long-sleeved shirt, and brown shoes.

"Who are you?" Tatsumi asked, looking defensive.

"Relax. I am not your foe," said the man in a calm, kind voice.

Tatsumi relaxed his shoulders but looked cautiously at the mysterious man.

"So, who are you then?" Tatsumi asked again.

"Hmm, I can't give away my name that easily, but I can say that I am not from this world," said the man cryptically. "However, I can say that I am the one who saved you from that burning cabin."

"Wait, oh!" Tatsumi remembered. "That's right! I thought I was going to die because I was tied by…. Droid Cop!"

Tatsumi gripped his right hand into a fist, looking both sad and angry at the same time.

"You want to get revenge?" The man asked. "It's not a pretty path, but if it is the revenge you want, then I can help you with that."

"No, I don't want revenge, but…." The man stopped and listened. "What I want is justice! What I want is to make things right! Droid Cop, as much as I don't want to believe in what I saw or hear, I cannot deny that he just can't get away with this! Plus, there is!"

An image of Yatagarashu and his encounter with her came through his mind. "There is someone I want to apologize to! I want to bring in Droid Cop to the light!"

The man stared, then grinned. "Very well. I thought you would say something else, but I can see that you have conviction."

The man left his right hand closed and opened his palm to reveal a bright light. Tatsumi covered his eyes from the morning, but it materialized into a unique device as the light dimmed. The machine looked similar to his Mix Driver, except it had a slot on each side, a button on the top, a circular unit in the center, and a display on the center, too.

"Here you go." The man handed the device to him as it floated over to Tatsumi. Tatsumi held his hand out, and it gently rested on his hand.

"This device… It looks like my Mix Driver, but it also looks like the Ziku Driver from…. Hold on, this is crazy, but are you…!"

A bright light shined behind the mysterious man. "The time is up. You better hurry. Go after Droid Cop, and I will handle the rest."

"Wait! I have to know! You are!" Before Tatsumi said anything more, the light consumed him and the man, blinding him before the light dimmed away. Tatsumi opened his eyes, and he was surprised to see that he was back in Kyoto.

"What?!" He gasped as he looked around while random bystanders looked at him awkwardly.

"How am I standing here?" Tatsumi thought. He realized that he was holding the unknown device in his hand.

"Well, anyway, I got to find Droid Cop! Or should I tell the Police? No, they won't believe me, so I have to confront Droid Cop myself and find a way to get the truth out of him!" Tatsumi stated as he ran off.

- My Hero Academia –

Somewhere near the harbor, the Weather Twins were present as they looked like they were waiting for something or someone.

Then, they noticed a car was moving forward and stopped in front of them. The driver came out, who was revealed to be Miss Kobayashi.

"Are you the one who said to meet here?" Raijin asked.

"No. My boss sent me in his place to hand you your rewards," Miss Kobayashi answered as she held a briefcase. "Do you have the jewels?"

"Right here!" Raijin emphasized as she held a bag of jewels.

"Very well," Miss Kobayashi said as she checked the bag. "The transaction is approved. I will send your thankful regard to my boss."

"Good then. Thank you for dealing a business with us," Fujin said.

Miss Kobayashi put the bag of jewels in the truck and locked it. She drove off while the Weather Twins enjoyed their reward money.

Miss Kobayashi glanced at her rear mirror and pressed something on her charging Smartphone. "Hello? Yes, I would like to report an eyewitness for a crime. I witnessed the infamous Weather Twins at the harbor near Dock #13."

As the car drove away, the Weather Twins looked at the suitcase of money.

"Well, sister. It looks like we are set!" Fujin cheered.

"Hell yeah! Let's go and buy a ticket to the Bahamas, and enjoy ourselves!" Raijin declared.

"Sorry, but you won't have the time of luxury." They stopped and turned to see a man standing before them.

"Woah! Who the hell are you, and where did you come from?!" Raijin exclaimed.

"Well, well, who is this cutie?" Fuijin flirted.

"You should stop and surrender yourself, and that is an order," the man said determinedly.

"You? Ordering us? Who the hell do you think you are?!" Raijin offended.

"My, my. You sound tough, and what are you going to do about it then?" Fujin asked, challenging the man.

"Well, then I guess you two will be the first people in this world to witness the power of the revered Demon King," he stated as a similar strange device appeared, except this one was in golden color.

"King Ziku Driver!" The strange device around his belt said in a voice of its own.

The man took out another device that looks like a pocket watch. He dialed it clockwise, causing its arrow to face a specific direction, and pressed a button on it, making a beeping noise.

"Zi-O!" He inserted the pocket watch-like device into the 9'o clock slot and pressed the button on the top, causing it to slant to the right. As he makes his pose, images of big and small clocks appeared behind him.

"Henshin!" He shouted.

He spun the device on his belt, spinning it counterclockwise three times before it stopped. His body transformed into a black suit with white, bulky shoulder plates and pink colors on some part of the armor. The visor on his helmet read the word "Rider" in katakana.

The Weather Twins looked confused yet interested. They had never met a transformation hero, but something felt different about this hero.

"The third time's the charm, but who are you exactly?" Fujin asked.

The hero answered. "I am a man who will become a king."

- My Hero Academia –

Tatsumi Kurate arrived at the place where he expects to find Droid Cop. He breathed in and out from running, but he arrived at the destination. He looked up to read the entrance sign for the studio.

"Hm? Hey, it's you!" The guard noticed. "What's wrong with you? You look like you were running a marathon or something!"

"Tell me, sir," Tatsumi huffed and puffed. "Where is Droid Cop?"

"Oh, well, he did come through here not too long ago. Like about half an hour ago and he hadn't left, I think… Ah, hey, where are you going?!" The guard yelled at Tatsumi, who just ran past him.

Tatsumi ran past the studio until he arrived at the right one. He saw the door was opened and went inside.

"Droid Cop!" He yelled, surprising the staff and the culprit himself mostly.

"Ta… Tatsumi Kurate!" Kazuma gasped.

"Hey, what are you think you're doing?! We're in the middle of shooting for the show!" The director warned the boy, but he ignored him.

"Surprise to see me, Droid Cop!" Tatsumi pointed at the man.

"Mr. Heiji, what is he talking about?" One of the staff members asked.

"Isn't he the intern?" Another member said.

Kazuma fixed his breath and said with a smile. "Tatsumi, my boy! What's the matter, surprising us like this? If you wait just a bit, we can discuss whatever is on your mind!"

"I don't think so since you tried to kill me not too long ago!" Tatsumi exclaimed.

The staff members gasped and turned to Droid Cop himself.

"What?! What are you talking about, my boy?" He asked innocently. "I don't know what you are talking about."

"Believe me, everyone, but Droid Cop or Kazuma Heiji here isn't a person you think he is!" Tatsumi yelled. "He's behind all the stolen jewels, paintings, and other expensive goods in this city for the past four months!"

The staff members didn't know what to say, but they couldn't believe it. Kazuma just laughed.

"The boy is exhausted and confused!" he chuckled. "I think you should go outside and get some fresh air. Could someone do that for me?"

Two security guards arrived and grabbed Tatsumi to get him out of the studio.

"No! Stop! I am telling the truth!" He yelled.

"The boy is delusional. He must have hit his head during the internship at some points," Droid Cop claimed.

Suddenly, the windows' glasses broke as a flock of crows swarmed into the studio, causing uproar and panic among the staff.

"Kyaaah!" One woman screamed.

"What the?! This is!" Droid Cop gasped.

"This is Yatagarashu's Quirk!" Tatsumi shouted.

"Everyone, get out of here!" One of the guards declared as he opened the door—all the staff members except Tatsumi and Droid Cop.

The flock of crows merged at a singular point, forming into a body altogether.

"Yatagarashu!" The crows turned utterly into a young human girl as Tatsumi was surprised and yet happy at the same time. "How are you here? I thought you were at the jail!"

"Let's just say I got a free bail," Yatagarashu replied with a cheeky smile. "Need some help again?"

"Well, with you here now, I guess I have no choice but to say yes, right?" Tatsumi joked, but at the same time being serious.

"You… So you somehow escaped!" Kazuma gripped his hand into a fist as he gritted his teeth.

"I am not a Pro Hero and all, but if this is the part where a hero says something profound, then I will say it here!" Yatagarashu declared as she looked severe and pointed at Droid Cop. "Your tyranny ends here!"

"And the truth will come out!" Tatsumi added.

Kazuma looked at the kids, then laughed, which surprised them unexpectedly. "You two will stop me?! Ha! What a joke! That's probably the best joke I've ever heard in my life! But on the serious note, I guess burning you alive and putting you in jail to rot won't stop you both permanently, so that I will do it with my own hands!"

Droid Cop put on his helmet as the duo got ready.

"OK, it's time to test this new device!" Tatsumi put on the new driver around him.

"Ziku Mix Driver!" The device said in a firm voice, but he realized something. He didn't have his Quirk Bottles with him. "Oh crap! I don't have my Quirk Bottles!"

"Hey, catch!" Tatsumi quickly turned to Yatagarashu, who threw him some of his Quirk Bottles. He grabbed all of them.

"Woah, thanks!" He replied as he quickly chose two and inserted one on each side.

"Hot and Cold! Creation! Best Mix Time!" The device declared in a strong male voice as Tatsumi clicked the button on the top, causing the central unit to move a bit. It made a unique sound effect where a surge of energy zoomed through his body.

'This power, I can feel it!' He thought as he made his pose. "Transform!"

He waved his hand over the device, causing it to spin counterclockwise. The spin caused the two bottles to mix the Quirks inside together. Suddenly, an armor materialized over his body.

"Hot and Cold + Creation equals… Build! The law of victory has been set!" The device proclaimed as the transformation was completed. "Kamen Rider Zio Mix – Build Armor!"

Now, his body was inside a brand-new suit. It was half blue and half red, the blue on his right side while the red part was on his left. The middle part of the suit was a metallic silver color that went down across from the upper torso below the neck to the bottom torso. The color of the boot was the opposite of each other. The right boot was red, and the left boot was blue. The word "Rider" was the yellow visor, and it was read in katakana.

Droid Cop and Yatagarashu awed at Tatsumi's new look, though the former looked angrier while the latter looked impressed.

"Wow! When did you get a new costume?" Yatagarashu awed.

"Who cares if you have a new costume or not!" Droid Cop said as he took out his weapon and ran towards them.

Droid Cop swung his long zutte like a sword, but Kamen Rider Zio Mix and Yatagarashu dodged out of the way. Droid Cop changed his direction and turned the weapon to his left at Tatsumi, which he grabbed and then counterattacked with some punches.

"Gah!" Droid Cop winced from the punches. Their fight destroyed some of the props in the process. Droid Cop took his gun out and began shooting at Tatsumi.

He quickly summoned ice from his right arm, freezing the bullets in midair.

"What?" Droid Cop gasped.

"Hiyah!" Yatagarashu kicked Droid Cop. "Now!"

Tatsumi nodded and used his ice power to freeze Droid Cop, but then the tires on his boot started moving, causing him to move away fast like a car. He slammed through the door, escaping to the outside.

"He escaped! Let's catch him!" Yatagarashu chased after him.

"Huh? Wait up!" Tatsumi called as he followed after her.

The fight continued outside. Droid Cop shot more bullets at them. Yatagarashu dodged out of the way by turning into a flock of crows, swarming around Droid Cop to distract him.

"Time to see what this new suit can do!" Tatsumi declared as his right arm created something. A sword came out of his left palm. He grabbed it out and noticed that his original mask was part of the handle for the sword. The blade was thick.

"My first new Creation! I will call it the Mix Sword!" He decided as he took two bottles and inserted them into the side of the sword, where there were two holes.

"Engine! Bug Body! Best Mix," The sword said in its voice. The blade part glowed in lights as energy flowed through it.

Tatsumi ran towards Droid Cop. Droid Cop saw him coming, so he dodged to the side and countered with his jutte. His weapon and Mix Sword collided.

They faced closer to each other.

"Why Droid Cop?! Why are you doing this?" He asked.

"Why? That's because I can do whatever I want!" He answered.

"But you are a Pro Hero idolized by many fans! So many kids in the world idolize you!"

"Being an idol doesn't make you famous enough! I worked hard to get to where I am, but even then, it wasn't enough! Nobody appreciates a transformation hero!" He argued.

"Is that why you stole all those jewels and other goods?! You used others to steal it for you!"

"That's right!" He pushed Tatsumi away from him. "I hired some villains to do the dirty work for me. I paid them money, and then without them knowing, I called the Police and made myself present to arrest the suckers."

"That's why I hired someone like Yatagarashu, the famous Phantom Thief! Then, she will trade it with the Weather Twins, and then I get good from them!"

"So that explains everything. You used her for your scheme!" Tatsumi accused him.

"That's right, and I would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for you or your stupid internship program! Here I thought you wouldn't be too much trouble, but now… it doesn't matter," he said chucklingly.

His chuckle didn't felt right for them. "What do you mean?" Tatsumi said.

"Can't you see!" Droid Cop pointed his jutte at something. They looked up to see security cameras. "There are security cameras like that everywhere here! They are non-audio type, so it only records footages, and I will use those footages to frame you!"

"Frame me?!" Tatsumi gasped. "E-Even so, I will still tell the truth!"

"Tell the truth?! Ha!" He laughed mockingly. "Who would believe in you?! Remember that the people here idolize me! You already broke the law, Tatsumi, my boy. You attacked a Pro Hero, and you are not even licensed, which makes you a criminal, especially now that you are side with one."

"Yatagarashu here may be a thief, but she is not a villain!" He claimed, which surprised Droid Cop a bit, but mostly the girl herself. "She may steal stuff, but she doesn't hurt anyone and never use someone for her gain!"

'Tatsumi,' she thought as she looked at him.

"Tch! Whatever! It doesn't matter for you two!" He ran towards them.

"Tatsumi, I got an idea! Try leading him to studio #2 building!" Yatagarashu stated as she turned into crows again.

"OK!" He nodded as the fight continued. Tatsumi fought defensively as he led Droid Cop to studio #2 building.

The building had some props from other movies. This building was used for giant monster films since many monsters were hanging on the side of the wall. There was even a flying dragon with three heads hanging on the ceiling.

Droid Cop and Kamen Rider Zio Mix fought and fought until they stood exactly below the monster prop hanging on the ceiling.

"Dodge now!" Yatagarashu called.

Tatsumi jumped back, and Yatagarashu cut the wire that held the prop on the ceiling.

"What?!" Droid Cop looked up, but once he did, the prop was falling on him, and he didn't have the time to dodge out of the way.

"Gaaaaaaahhhh!" The prop hit him.

"Woohoo! We captured him!" Yatagarashu cheered.

"Yeah, we did," Tatsumi said happily.

"No, this is not over yet!" Droid Cop pointed his gun at Tatsumi, but Yatagarashu noticed.

"Watch out, Tatsumi!" She pushed him away as the gunshot was made.

Tatsumi tripped on his back. He looked up to see that Yatagarashu was shot as she fell to the ground.

"Yuko…. Yuko!" Tatsumi ran over to her as he held her while sitting on his knee. "Yuko, are you OK? Please wake up!"

"Uuuh." She groaned in pain as she opened her eyes. "You…. You remembered my name."

She grinned. "You remembered me. I feel… I feel so happy."

"Don't talk, Yuko! You are hurt! Let's get you help," Tatsumi assured as tears formulated behind his mask.

"Tat, Tatsumi," she spoke. "I'm glad to meet you in a while. Remember that time, grrr!"

"Please, Yuko! Don't say any more words!" He warned her.

"Remember? Remember that time when we were a kid…."

- Flashback –

"You're going to be what?" Young Yuko asked.

"I'm gonna be a Kamen Rider!" Young Tatsumi declared profoundly. He stood up with his fist up in the air.

Young Yuko sighed. "That's weird!"

Young Tatsumi flabbergasted. "What do you mean it's weird! It's my dream to be a Kamen Rider and make Tokusatsu Hero a real pro, just like All Might and other heroes!"

Yuko looked at him, then grinned. "What do you want to be when you grow up, Yuko-chan?"

"Hmmm, I think I want to be what my mommy and daddy do for a living," she answered.

"Oh, that's cool! Are they Pro Heroes?" He asked.

"Um, well…. Yeah, sort of," Yuko answered hesitantly.

- Flashback Ends –

"When we were kids, we used to talk a lot about our dream when we grow up. Watching you now, it seems like it is coming true, huh? I guess we can say the same thing to both of us…" She said painfully, even with a smile.

"Yuko," Tatsumi said gently.

"Thank you… for listening," Yuko said before she fainted.

"Yuko? Yuko! YUKO!" Tatsumi cried.

As he wept for his friend, he heard a click and felt something behind his head. He glanced up to see Droid Cop standing again with his gun pointing at him.

"Don't worry, my boy. I will send you to where she is now," Droid Cop stated.

"You!" Tatsumi wanted to punch this man. He had never been so angry at someone, but he didn't want to move to risk his life. However, the feeling was too much for him. Now he did want revenge. He wanted vengeance for his old friend, who saved him twice. He wanted to avenge his friend's death!

Suddenly, a door slammed open as a bright light shined out. They turned around to hear in time a roaring laugh.

"It's fine now! Why? Because I am here!" All Might stood as light shined behind him before it dimmed, only revealing to be a nighttime outside.

"All Might," Tatsumi whispered as he looked glad to see him.

"All Might!" Droid Cop started playing the innocent. "You got to help us! My intern here is hurt, and the villain, Yatagarashu, I shot her when she attacked us!"

Tatsumi looked angry at Droid Cop. He was pretending to be innocent.

"Yes, yes. As I said, everything is fine now that I am here!" All Might exclaimed as he strolled over to them.

'I got to say it! I got to tell the truth!' Tatsumi was about to say things, but before he did, All Might spoke up first.

"However, there is one thing to do first," he stated.

"Hm? What would that be, All Might?" Droid Cop asked.

Suddenly, he took out a handcuff and cuffed Droid Cop's hand. Tatsumi and Droid Cop himself gasped to see what just had happened right now.

"What?!" They gasped as their eyes could just pop out now.

"Droid Cop, you are under arrest for the thief, conspiracy with villains, hurting innocent civilians, and attempt of murder!" All Might declared earnestly while still smiling.

"What are you doing, All Might?! You should be arresting that girl over there! She's the infamous Phantom Thief, Yatagarashu!" He argued.

"I know who she is, Droid Cop, no, Kazuma Heiji. However, her little birdie told me everything." That confused him and Tatsumi. Then, a single crow flew into the building, looking weak and tired.

It managed to land on the fainted girl, merging with her.

"She had used her Quirk all this time. She was incomplete all this time until now!" Tatsumi noted.

"That's right! Thanks to her Quirk, she sent a message to me, explaining everything that had happened here, and I came here as soon as I can!" The revelation made Droid Cop feel afraid, very afraid.

However, he still played being innocent. "All Might, you are not making any sense. You don't have any evidence to back up…."

"Listen here, you!" All Might came up closer to Kazuma's face. "I'm holding all my anger towards you right now. I may not be a police officer, but I will say it here for your sake. You. Have. The. Right. To. Remain. SILENCE!"

"You…. You all bastards!" Droid Cop launched an attack at All Might.

"All Might, watch out!" Tatsumi shouted.

All Might pulled back and had his fist ready. "Detroit… Smash!" He punched straight into Droid Cop's face, breaking his helmet in the process.

"Gah!" A big pocket of air came out of his lung, and the force of the punch knocked him out.

Tatsumi looked happy when that happened. He wished he did it, but he was at least glad that justice was served.

Hello, everyone! We are coming near to the end!

We have the epic showdown between Tatsumi Kurate with a bit of help from Yatagarashu and Droid Cop.

Also, Tatsumi got a new upgraded power for his Quirk. Like every main Kamen Rider protagonist, they always get an upgrade form that's much powerful than their basic or standard form. I introduce you to Kamen Rider Zio Mix. In this form, he can mix two different Quirks, like his original Rider form, except the result will transform into a new form and gains the power of the Kamen Rider based on the form he transforms. For example, like in this chapter, when he mixes Todoroki's Hot and Cold Quirk with Momo's Creation Quirk, he transforms into the Build armor form, based on Kamen Rider Build. There will be more, but it won't be shown here in this story.
